Internet Cop Julius Genachowski Get His Small Government On
The Hill reports that Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski, fresh from finishing his quest to implement net neutrality regulations, will "show his small government side" by talking a little bit about "reducing regulatory barriers."
After incensing small government types with rules they viewed as burdensome, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski has begun a new effort to align his agency with with the goal of regulatory restraint. He will debut this new line of messaging at two events on Wednesday about reducing regulatory barriers. One is a panel conversation (or, if you want, "digital town hall") about job creation and the economy.
Presumably net neutrality, stricter flavors of which even telecom labor groups have warned could "reduce broadband investment and jobs," won't be one of the regulatory barriers on the target list.

And now watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat (but don't pay attention to anything but the hat itself)!
"show his small government side"
Eewww!!
Isn't that his shriveled up, dead side?
If you like big government for something and you like small government for other things, you like big government. A constrained government can't be one that you let off the leash whenever you feel like.
The convict in the basement is either shackled and in the basement, or he isn't.
Because of the WoD, he could just be down there smoking your stuff or mourning the loss of your favorite dog.
He will debut this new line of messaging...
Principles being merely a fashion to be debuted on the runway as messaging for the new season.
Stop resisting...

"He will debut this new line of messaging at two events on Wednesday about reducing regulatory barriers."
This says it all, doesn't it? Throw up some messaging to appease the people that disagree but don't actually change anything.
It would be nice if some or all of the folks attending the digital town hall with JG bring up how net neutrality will backfire on his proposed small governance. But I bet he's really only digital town halling with supportive folks. Putzes like this guy don't set themselves up for the fall.
Regulators are like goldfish--they grow to the size of the tank you put them in.
I'm sure he thinks he's nowhere near as big and scary a regulator as some of the other giant shark-like regulators he works with.
Regulators are like goldfish--dirty, stupid, animals of which there is a virtually unlimited supply of replacements.
Then why are we the ones swimming in their toilet?
Oh, win on the analogy, Ken Shultz.
If we keep feeding them, will they die?
talking a little bit about "reducing regulatory barriers."
How did that 's' get in there?
Well. I'm sure the merger of villainous telecom Comcast with administration henchcorp GE had nothing to do with this change of heart.
Julius Genachowski: Fucking Liar.
You're a fucking liar, Julius.
