If No One Issues a Press Release About a Medical Marijuana Raid, Did It Really Happen?
Although the federal government has not stopped its medical marijuana raids, Mike Riggs notes at The Daily Caller, it is bragging about them less:
Late last week, DEA and FBI agents raided five medical marijuana dispensaries in Nevada. In July, DEA agents raided the home of 65-year-old Mendocino County, California, grower Joy Greenfield and confiscated plants, money, and her computer. Also in July, DEA agents raided the home of a couple in Michigan who were licensed by the state to use marijuana, as well as three medical marijuana dispensaries in San Diego. In January and February of this year, the DEA raided two medical marijuana research labs in Colorado.
In all of the above cases, the DEA and the U.S. Attorneys' offices issued no press releases and held no press conferences.
Riggs suggests the president may be embarrassed about breaking his campaign promise to stop persecuting medical marijuana patients and their suppliers.
Last week Brian Doherty noted the Nevada raids. Last month I charted the shifting limits of Obama's marijuana tolerance.

Yeah, I'm sure the President is personally involved in the issuing of press relleases. Oh, and he's a Muslim.
No press releases? I guess Obama really is better than Bush on the issue.
For an administration dedicated to governance by press release, I would assume that not issuing a press release on a raid means the raid didn't really happen.
Shove your stupid cheap shots up Sullum's ass where you got them, you fucking moron.
Oh Edward, you say the sweetest things.
Calm down, Max, jeez.
I know you get off on watching the dea haul AIDS patients off to jail, but you are going to have to use your imagination from now on.
Seriously, I know the betrayal you must feel knowing that this "liberal" president is sending out the jack-booted goons to punish cancer patients, especially after all the times you defended him.
Or maybe you think they should be punished, heaven forbid that their last months on earth are pleasurable. We know how much it angers you, to see someone having a good time that is.
Max, in this Nation of Swine, you are the King Pig.
The only thing that gives him pleasure is thinking about how much time you wasted to post that.
It will not be a priority to use federal resources to brag about our medical marijuana raids.
If Obama's embarrassment of breaking campaign promises is the reason, how can that SOB live with himself over all the other issues he lied about with abandon?
He does the same Doublespeak routine in those instances too. They shine shit and call it the gold they promised. The fact that it remains shitty shit is left for us rich ultra right-wingers to consider.
Wasn't there a Myth Busters episode about that?
Yep - and FWIW: meat-eater turds shined up better than herbivore turds.
Especially how he covered up the truth about 9-11!
"Is it wrong for me to ask questions? Is it wrong to seek the truth? I can't just blindly accept their version. I can't face my logic on proof. Almost all the evidence points one way, but I'm not Charlie Sheen in 'Glorious Devan.' I need to know what really happened on 9/11, 11, 11, 11, 11. What really happened, on 9/11? Of course, it's so obvious. How did we not see it before?"
Did you know that Obama still has not released his long-form birth certificate? Or his college transcripts!
And you almost got a way with it too, you sneaky butthole.
Fuck off, truther scum.
Part of the Secret Services job is to force him to live with himself. Probably don't let him where anything but clip on ties to keep from swinging from the rafters.
Racist!
lol! Yeah, that was definitely a Freudian slip. Guess I need to write out a check for a hundred bucks to the UNCF to atone.
'wear' for gosh darn sakes.
Also, can you blame the guy? If for all your life people have told you how great you are, and have given you the easy pass to success, and then you found out you ain't such hot shit after all, how doyou even look yourself in the mirror?
I almost feel sorry for him.
I almost feel sorry for him.
I have thought this about Obama, and BushII. But then I thought; Here's a statist fuck who spent over $100 million to get this job...fuck him.
But I don't think of him!
serious LOL
All AG Holder has to do is sign one piece of paper, changing the schedule from schedule 1 ,no medical use, to schedule 2 or 3 but lying is just to far ingrained in Holder to do the simple act of signing a piece of paper. Having AG Holder and Pres. Obama both hold the position that marijuana has no medical use is what should be more troubling. I think they are both misguided but not idiotic as their position implies. Whether they have continued to lie about their position is secondary to the fact they both believe that marijuana has no medical use and studies and empirical data be dammed.
I don't think they care whether or not marijuana has medical uses or not.
All they care about is how changing the schedule will make them look politically.
Folks, cool yourselves. This afternoon I went to my favorite cannabis dispensary and bought a week's worth. Do you have any idea what a change that is from the way things used to be? So don't bitch and complain that things aren't going fast enough for you. Some things take time to work and we're counteracting almost 80 years of intense misinformation and propaganda. A lot of the ingrained prejudices have to be overcome after the unrelenting demonization of marijuana users as slackers, stoners, and unsavory characters. We'll get there, a step at a time. Vote Yes on Prop. 19!
So...
Regret voting for Obama yet, or still in denial?
