Rick Barber is an insane person who wants to represent you, the good citizens of Alabama! I have a little bust of Abe sitting on top of my external hard drive looking down in a Fatherly way on me as I type. Abe presides. He presides over my laptop and my blog posts, just as he used to preside over this country, and in the same manner he still presides over the Mall and thousands of tourists.

As a Southerner and a libertarian individualist I have to agree with you that he is a poor choice as a symbol for this campaign since he didn't just champion big government and trample on peoples rights, he implemented those policies with military force and we live with those consequences today.

A much better leader to recall would be Ronald Reagan. As imperfect as he might seem to some, he believed that the American people could be trusted to make decisions for themselves and he promised over and again, to get the goddamn government off the backs of the people. Though that was not his exact choice of words.
