Not Safe for Prison
The Bent County Correctional Facility in Colorado has censored our March issue, sent to a subscriber behind bars, because of a rule prohibiting images of "scantily clad provocative poses." If you're curious to see what the warden considers a scantily clad provocative pose, click here for the offending photo.

After clicking, I'm curious to see what the warden look like.
Or the warden's wife.
Well, not really. . .

Man, prison is tough.
damn I thought there would at least be a lobster girl photo.
That was my first thought, as well.
... Hobbit
That was the lobster girl. Ain't photoshop grand.
Doesn't exactly have me typing with one hand.
Must be a women's prison.
I guess this month's Veterinary Journal (NSFW) is right out then.
On a serious note, what is a subscriber of Reason doing in the hoosegow? Has the roundup begun?
Well, I give it at most a month before fetish websites with that picture as a basis start popping up (if they haven't already).
Rule 34...
Those are some nice looking cows
Virginia had a case to all the way to the Commonwealth Supreme Court before prisons would stop cutting any biblical quotation out of mail to inmates. When pressed, they said their policy was to censor any information "printed from the Internet."
Eventually, they created a content-neutral policy, other than for safety/order, but not without a fight.
WTH. I am trying to come up with something more insightful, but WTH just seems a perfect description of the level of hohlkopf.
I think I now understand why prison rape is as common as it is.
Wow, who in their right mind could fap to that? Scary.

No wonder it's called Bent County.
The warden may simply have been looking for any excuse to censor Reason Magazine and finally found one.
Damn - how long you gotta be in the pokey before that picture's arousing?
Damn - If I'm ever in jail and a picture like this is arousing, I'll know it's time to hang myself.
*fixed it myself*
Oh, BTW, the young man is not "scantily clad" - he's wearing that heifer's fat folds. Sheesh
This reminds me of the legend that your predecessors rejected Loompanics ads for being too racy. (Tibor Machan said that the legend is crap.)
Is there, by any chance, a Balko article in that issue?
Because it would be a lot easier to censor a "racy pitcher" than an article pointing out the duplicitous evilness of the coppers.
I don't know about you guys, but I was really hoping to see a Gillespie/Jacket striptease when I clicked over...
I pine for the days when Reason had Virginia Postrel centerfolds with every issue.
I must also admit that I love the dirty subversive feeling I get that I share opinion reading preferences with someone locked up by the State.
The little fella underneath is wondering whether to use jelly or syrup.
Reason: The magazine so subversive it was banned from prison.
That photo is a travesty of justice! (Get it??)
Bent County can get bent!! (Get it??)
Shit, this stuff writes itself!

Meaning what? They cut out the photo before handing the issue to the inmate? Still, 99.95% is better than nothing.
how did they censor it? did they put black bars over the statue or did they cut the picture out or the whole article? hilariously insane.
I read Reason for the articles, not the pictures.
Then take the jacket pictures off the wall.
And I thought I was scary....
That's hot! That statue certainly makes me want to start humping other stone statues.
