In an interview with the Washington Post today, the president challenged all of us to comb through his 2008 campaign promises on health care. Check it out:
President Obama rejected in an interview Tuesday the criticism that he has compromised too much in order to secure health-care reform legislation, challenging his critics to identify any "gap" between what he campaigned on last year and what Congress is on the verge of passing. […]
"Every single criteria for reform I put forward is in this bill." […]
He said the Senate legislation accomplishes "95 percent" of what he called for during his 2008 presidential campaign and in his September speech to a joint session of Congress on the need for health-care reform. […]
Obama said the public option "has become a source of ideological contention between the left and right." But, he added, "I didn't campaign on the public option."
OK, kids, let's go look for what he said on the campaign about health care reform! Here's a good one:
I'm going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We'll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies -- they'll get a seat at the table, they just won't be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process.
Allow Medicare to negotiate for cheaper drug prices.
Negatory, at least according to this blog post (which includes several other alleged broken promises). Still feeling lucky today, punk?
Offers a public health insurance option to provide the uninsured and those who can't find affordable coverage with a real choice.
Note: That's from Obama's campaign website. It's like he doesn't expect us to check, or something.
To sum up: The president said he "didn't campaign on the public option," but it turns out he did. He said that there wasn't any "gap" between his campaign promises and the final result, but it turns out there were several, as detectable by the most cursory Google search. He said "every single criteria for reform I put forward is in this bill," but it turns out they're not.

Well, let's be honest - that was some pretty easy prognostication. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing he did wrong was apologize. Since when did it become unacceptable to call people on their bullshit? Yeah, he's the President. But if the President tells bare-faced lies then he's the one demeaning the office, not the person telling people how it is.
Mission to Moscow and Good Night and Good Luck have been sitting in my top dresser drawer for ever a year now. And I am still paying every month. How does this thing work? It is cutting into my Paul Krugman action doll budget.
You know what I look forward to? The 2012 presidential debates (beginning with the primaries). There is no way the other candidates won't point this shit out. Early and often.
Doesn't it look like 2010 will be a lot of fun as well? 1994 was a real hoot, and the pent-up anger at Washington back then doesn't hold a candle to what we're seeing now.
Good grief. Of all the great comments in this thread, Glenn Reynolds actually singled out this one, which is a bit of fanciful hyperbole.
Sometimes I think Reynolds doesn't really care about politics, but rather about his long, self-interested campaign to bash "the MSM" and spout blog triumphalism.
He'll sign absolutlely anything, so long as it establishes the priciple that the federal government is the ultimate arbiter of who gets what on what terms. Everything else is fluff.
He'll sign anything as long as he gets to say he finally brought health-care reform to the US. Doesn't matter so much what it does or doesn't do as long as he gets to the media to say it's his legacy and he gets to use it in his re-election campaign.
I would start placing them in the quieter, smaller border towns, because the larger ones (like Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Nogales, Tijuana) have been taken over by narcs and (worse) the Mexican Army. But it would be a great business opportunity once Obamacare kicks in...
[Uh, who could say with certainty that Pharaoh Obama I will not close the border to people getting INTO Mexico for healthcare, citing "Interstate Commerce" as justification?)
All this was inspired by the principle--which is quite true in itself--that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.

You may want to explain the title "narc" has a different meaning south of the border where it indicates a trafficker in narcotics as opposed to an undercover narcotics officer. Whether that's a bad thing or not depends on perspective, in Mexico the narc may be considered a bane on society or a provider of economic security for entire towns, the populace of which would otherwise suffer lives considerably more impoverished and devoid of opportunity. It's unfortunate the general population otherwise not invovled is sometimes caught in the crossfire, seems nothing comes without a catch. It hardly seems a fair price to pay considering the potential cost of mandatory drug use would likely be less.
It seemed like more fun back when people would ask "What would Jesus do?" Now that we just have to look and see what he's doing (in this case, as in any other, lying his holy ass off) much of the mystery that made life seem a bit like shooting dice in a magical game of craps is gone. That doesn't seem like a good thing.
Uh oh...
CNSNews.com) ? More than 80 percent of Americans agree that Congress drafts lengthy, complex bills to hide spending on special interests and to prevent constituents from understanding what's in them before a vote is taken, according to a new survey.
According to a Zogby poll conducted last week, 83.5 percent of respondents agreed at least "somewhat" with the lengthy-bill premise, and 61.2 percent of Americans agreed strongly. Only 14.4 percent disagreed, and just 5.8 percent did so strongly.
The question Zogby asked was: "Some contend that the reason federal legislation is often thousands of pages long is because provisions to benefit special interests can be more easily buried in long bills, and so citizens cannot decipher the legislative language quickly enough to be able to communicate support or opposition to their Senators or Members of Congress before a vote is taken. Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree with this opinion?"
I'd be looking into starting a series of clinics, hospitals and doctors' offices along the border [with Mexico]. It's going to be big.
As someone who lives in West Texas and works for hospitals, doctors, etc., I floated this idea earlier this year as a potential strategy.
Oddly, our directors (who, to be sure, are from the oil, real estate, and ag businesses and are not unacquainted with risk) were not completely dismissive.
I live in Phoenix and they already have across the border dentistry that seems to be doing quite well.
There are some differences that might put people off, but a picture from inside one of these offices would be indistinguishable from an American one. It's not like there's a guy with a thick mustache, a sombrero, a bottle of tequila and a pair of pliers.
You forget to mention the whopper about anyone who likes their current health care plan will be able to keep it.
You can buy any kind of insurance you want, but if it doesn't provide the Federally Mandated Coverage, you will also have the privilege, nay, the honor, of paying a fine.
Except that the insurance companies will no longer be selling any policies that don't fit the federally mandated coverage, so there won't be any to buy.
Prevaricators, indeed, could anything less be expected from those for whom "the playing field" was made "level" giving them a sense of entitlement from the start. To simply label purposeful prejudicial and preferential treatment to be the leveling of anything, as if it some how makes things equal, should require a considerable prevarication in itself.
If it wasn't so messed up, I'd be laughing my ass off that Obama has completely lived up to the most extreme negative opinions of him (at least the people who thought he was an incompetent liar). Those people must be feeling pretty smug right now. I regret that I didn't call it too; I just figured no way he could be this bad.
Me, too. The right to issue smug "I told you sos" is no consolation at allwhen the country is circling the drain, and all of our lives and fortunes with it.
I can only hope that Libertarians and other liberty-oriented candidates achieve office in droves in November. Perhaps the hope is forlorn. But perhaps also people have finally had enough of the corrupt good-cop, bad-cop game the GOP and Demos have been playing in DC and the State capitals for decades, now.
Have you given much thought to how countries in the southern hemisphere circle the drain in the opposite direction on the way down?
Lucky for us our brilliant leaders have devised an impeccable Master Plan which eliminates the traditional and mandatory drain circling replacing it with a genius "straight down the drain strategy." It was a lot more work for them to do it this way, but they are no strangers to sacrifice, and if we can be spared the dizziness associated with excessive drain circling while still managing to put the country down the hole, at the end of the day they'll know they did right and it was all worth it.
"Have you given much thought to how countries in the southern hemisphere circle the drain in the opposite direction on the way down?"
I recall when I visited New Zealand late in 1982, Reaganism and Thatcherism were in full flower in the US and UK, respectively, but NZ was still fairly leftist. Then, a few years later, I read of a "libertarian revolution" down there. More recently, during the faux-right Bush II years, I heard that they had swung to left again. So, you wouldn't have to argue very hard to convince me that the down-under nations circle the drain in the direction opposite to that enjoyed by those of us north of the equator. But maybe it's all just a series of bizarre coincidences...
More than 300 pages of files that the Federal Bureau of Investigation kept on Michael Jackson, who died on June 25, were released by the bureau on Tuesday, detailing its investigations into charges of child molestation that were brought against the singer as well as extortion threats that were made against Mr. Jackson, right, in 1992.
The single most important political act that any citizen can do in 2010 is to vote out incumbents and replace them not with their rivals in the opposite major parties, but with independents or third-party candidates who have demonstrated both an understanding of the Constitution and the integrity to uphold their oaths to preserve, protect, and defend that document and what it symbolizes. The jokers in DC now, almost without exception, and regardless of party affiliation, have proven themselves ignorant of the Constitution and/or incompetent to be its (and our) guardians.
Hit'n'Run, you've been livin' hell to me
You've busted my balls since 2003
I've seen 'em come and go and I've seen 'em take their marbles home
And long ago I stopped askin' why
Hit'n'Run, I hate every inch of you.
You've cut me and you've scarred me thru an' thru.
And I'll walk out a depleted, weaker man;
Damn you for makin' me question my congressman.
Hit'n'Run, what good do you think you do?
Do you think I'll be different when you're through?
You bend my heart and mind and you batter my shattered soul,
your libertarian cause turns my blood a little cold.
Hit'n'Run, may you rot and burn in hell.
May your cause fall and may I live to tell.
May all the world forget you ever stood.
And may all the world regret you did no good.
And the media will never check, or publicize the checking. So it doesn't really matter if a few individual citizens or random bloggers check. Nobody will hear about it.
Sad but true, Hazel, and it may be worth adding that of the very few who do hear even fewer will care, or even be able to comprehend.
Seems there's little use for the 1st Amendment as it was originally intended, most of the media has turned it's backs on it's watchdog obligations in favor of political hacktivism. As a direct result the greater protection for all free speech is under assault. When the highest office in the land encourages citizens to rat out their fellow citizens for expressing views contrary to those considered "politically correct" there's little in history to compare except the Nazi and Communist flavors of socialism. It would appear it's only difficult to understand neither is desirable if one is themselves a socialist.
You guys have never seen a REALLY far-left lefty, have you? I mean, you've seen Chad and Tony and that crayon dude, but have you ever tried talking to a card carrying commie? Think of someone on the level of Ayers or Wright or whoever those dipsticks were carrying that one banner in the hate-Bush march saying they supported only American troops who frag their officers. That's the kind of lefty I mean.
If you'd ever had to talk to one of those nutjobs, you wouldn't have any trouble understanding why they're acting the way they are now. For all their stonewalling now, the far left were always pretty open about their plans to wreck our country and take away our freedoms back when they weren't in power.
You're in a cleft stick of your own making, and you should know we on the right have no sympathy for you. As the rattlesnake told the stupid little girl he'd bitten in return for saving his life, "You knew what I was when you picked me up." You helped elect this brood of vipers to office; don't act so surprised that they're biting you now!
I'm not sure "progressives" are going to accept being lied to by Obama. Check out some of their blogs and comments... that loud crash you heard was everyone jumping off the Obama bandwagon.
Will they have the guts to hold him and the Dems accountable in the next mid-term and in 2012?
Progressives exist because of their symbiotic relationship with Democratic Party, neither can live separated from the other. As for the Democratic Party, it's thieves have done well operating on the Boss Tweed model for a very long time now. Why wouldn't they, it offers unbeatable opportunity for self enrichment with nil risk of penalty. There's no evidence suggesting the party policy or strategy is determined by any other than the Party. It's the progressives who have altered their menstrual cycles to be in synch with the Party not the other way around. Sure the Party whispers all kinds of promises in progressive's ears while reaming them with it's masculinized female genitalia prior to each election, that's just part of the ordinary hyena pseudo-sex ritual. The progressives may share the same sexual dimorphism as the Party, even ultimately be owner of all things promised, but at the end of the cycle, once the votes have been cast, promises have little more value than the foul smelling breath that originally accompanied them, and it's the Party who remains the lone and dominant alpha female as well as the decider of all things. As beta female clan members the progressives may have the option to leave the clan, but little incentive to do such. It's only through the clan a hyena has power, as lone animals they are worthless. Better a member of the clan in possession of a pile of empty promises than a non-member with nothing. The symbiotic relationship in question is one of a political cult and it's zealots, not hyenas, past that the two are identical. The choice to use hyenas as example was out of consideration. To function in their clan role the beta female progressives must convince themselves the lie they live isn't reality, sub-consciously they are still aware it's a lie, so exposing it by simply stating the truth is a matter of great sensitivity. To be compared to hyenas is a different way of saying the same thing, one that for obvious reasons most progressives accept as flattery. It should come as no surprise if once the last of much revered and respected KKK Grand Poopahs and the like who were the party's core and the progressive's spine for so many years finally kicks the bucket allowing the Jack-ass, an animal for those of the old guard is still associated with fond remembrancences of the good old days when it was a party privilege to lynch Blacks and Negro loving White Republicans alike, marginalize both Chinese and Hispanics, imprison Japanese into concentration camps, and so on and so forth, blah blah blah, to be retired and replaced by the hyena as Democratic Party mascot. Assuming the old dust-farts manage to finally give up the ghost before their party has caused the USA to cease to exist, of course.
I know the guy was lying when he said hope and change. It doesn't take a rocket scientist. It just wasn't apparent that he was going to flat out lie like a blue tick doowg under a 1972 Chevette in my front yard in August.
This kind of brazen bullshit may play with Ezra Klein,
That poor motherfucker never had a chance. Before the age of twelve, his spirit had to have been broken by Better Than Ezra jokes to justify the shitty and whimpering rationales that comprise the content of his work.
My girlfriend tried to tell me yesterday that Walmart is a monopoly. Then she went on to say that she liked Target better. And I'm thinking, the existence of Target alone is contrary to your assertment that Walmart is a monopoly, baby.
My feeling (and, of course, not a single person aside from my own self cares)is that we should give the "progressives" every single, bureaucratic, liberty/soul destroying thing they want and in spades and let them run this place absolutely and completely into the ground. Let them have their vision completely fulfilled - healthcare, AGW, economics, centralized, bureaucratized control of everything. Let this economy and society grind to complete and messy halt. In that way it will finally, undeniably, emperically demonstrate that their vision of society is not merely unworkable, but corrupt at its core.
The worst thing we can do is continue this stalemate that slowly, inexorably winds its way toward (and I hate to use this stale term) socialism, but in a way that allows them to continue to blame unintended consequences on those who oppose them. Things will never improve through politics - they can't.
It is like when a loved one dies a long, protracted, inevitable death. It is torture for those involved. Better to have it over and done with. The only hope for liberty is to start over and even that is a very slim hope.
Every generation needs to elect its Carter, so that those capable of learning from experience will do so, good and hard.
That said, I think you speak too lightly of the Progressives driving this country into the ground. There is no evidence at all that humanity would learn anything from it. For one thing, human beings have hopes and aspirations they do not wish to give up, and these will lead them to resist in various subtle ways. This will simultaneously slow the decline and give the Progressives a scapegoat for their own failures. Then the older generation dies out, and there is a younger generation that does not remember that it can be a lot better.
Who here is old enough to remember African-Americans who suffered real, legal discrimination fighting for American against Hitler anyway, because they believed in American even when it didn't believe in them? Anyone?
The problem with your analysis is the assumption that a return to freedom and capitalism will be possible. I read and study history as an avocation. A democratic republic is an oddity in the history of the world. Most countries have been run by kings, oligarchs, dictators or tyrants of one kind or another and this situation lasted for hundreds if not thousands of years. The assumption that the history of the United States since 1776 is "normal" is an illusion. The Roman Republic was followed by the Empire and followed by the Dark Ages. The Orient and Africa were worse. Don't make the mistake of assuming that the present, or the recent past, is an equilibrium situation to which this country will return once the Left screws thing up.
If we don't fight for the return of our "normal" we may never see it again in our lifetimes of that of our children.
In the not to distant past there were politicians that told the truth, their word was their bond and you could bank on it, not so with this President. His word is only as good as it is expedient, why would you believe anything he says, his whole life is a lie, his history, his friends, his 'autobiography' and his everything.
Obama proves to be one of the best presidents in the history of this country. Some timie later, GOP will be building statues for him - as they should have for Jimmy Carter. Seems like my predictions from November 2008 hold quite well.
Strategy, not tactics. Obama will lie because he knows the msm won't call him on it, sooo... go after the msm!
even though the msm is dying, they're not dying fast enough. we need to go after the msm gatekeepers and expose them in blog posts, ie. research their lives, find out their associations, their dirty laundry. Make them the target. Pick 'em off one by one, starting with, it doesn't matter, Katie, George, Keith... Once they're in the spotlight it'll sure be easy to stop listening to them. The worst thing we can do is to keep waiting for the msm's full decline into irrelevance, they still have plenty of power to shape debate and protect. Wanted: experienced investigative reporters to train their sights on all these weasels, then sit back and watch Obama and the rest of the democrats spontaneously combust!
The Center for Media Research has released a study by Vertical Response that shows just where many of these 'Main Street' players are going with their online dollars. The big winners: e-mail and social media. With only 3.8% of small business folks NOT planning on using e-mail marketing and with social media carrying the perception of being free (which they so rudely discover it is far from free) this should make some in the banner and search crowd a little wary.
YOU LIE!
if only Joe Wilson waited a few months to use that line. now, it's kinda ruined no matter what bovine feces spews from Teh One's mouth.
Wilson may be a buffoon, but it seems that he was ahead of the curve.
Well, let's be honest - that was some pretty easy prognostication. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing he did wrong was apologize. Since when did it become unacceptable to call people on their bullshit? Yeah, he's the President. With the Won's narcissism, maybe it should be "You'll 'I.'"
Leave me alone, I'm still trying to figure out Netflix.
Mission to Moscow and Good Night and Good Luck have been sitting in my top dresser drawer for ever a year now. And I am still paying every month. How does this thing work? It is cutting into my Paul Krugman action doll budget.
Please clean the feces particles from my plastic beard. Well, clean the beard, not the feces particles.
Ya know if you just hunt around garage sales and look for old Star Wars Ewok figures....there's really not much difference.
Sure there is, we have integrity.
Oh, man - I love these rethorical questions!
He's a politicain. So the answer is no.
Politicain?
That's a politician that lies to you but you can't feel it, right?
No, politicain is the drug that keeps citizens from feeling when they're being screwed by politicians.
It extends the pleasure!
It looks like those of those answers from the old Al Jaffee's "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions" segments in MAD magazine.
He reminds me of a really cheesy professional wrestler trying to explain away his nefarious, underhanded tactics.
All I want for Christmas is for one reporter to burst out into laughter on live TV and call BS on Obama. Just laugh. That is all I want.
You know what I look forward to? The 2012 presidential debates (beginning with the primaries). There is no way the other candidates won't point this shit out. Early and often.

Finally, someone asked for something interesting.
Can we pass out milk to the press corps? Just sayin', it'd be much more interesting with milk.
It's like he doesn't expect us to check, or something.
He doesn't expect the Post to check. They didn't. And if any of them had tried, they'd have been fired.
Weak.
Bitter are we - reduced to commenting to a comment?
Obama utters a blatant untruth and the WaPo neglects to point it out, but somehow, you seem to think that Reynolds is the problem.
What's the word? Ah yes, "weak."
H&R I find your picture highly offensive. How dare you insinuate that Obama is a 'real boy' and not merely a puppet!?!
Barackanocchio... there you are!
He'll sign absolutlely anything, so long as it establishes the priciple that the federal government is the ultimate arbiter of who gets what on what terms. Everything else is fluff.

From an older post:
What? Where in Mexico did you receive that quote from? You can have knee replacement surgery for less than that in Monterrey. That's nuts.
By the way, it is not like one has to fly "thousands of miles" to get surgery in a good hospital or clinic in Mexico.
I'd be looking into starting a series of clinics, hospitals and doctors' offices along the border. It's going to be big.
I would start placing them in the quieter, smaller border towns, because the larger ones (like Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Nogales, Tijuana) have been taken over by narcs and (worse) the Mexican Army. But it would be a great business opportunity once Obamacare kicks in...

Can Obama Open His Mouth Without Lying About Health Care?
Can the Reason hoodie girl suck you off for crack money without opening her mouth?
Let's hope so.
Obama is craching and burning, but thanks to his affirmative action past, he has no idea it is happening.
+1
Outcome-based prezzidentin'

Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X
People quote Hitler in Reason comment threads, thus proving that anyone who opposes Obama is a Nazi racist.
Like we didn't already know.
Ich bin ein Berliner!
You're a donut?
Drink!
WTF is craching? Damn preview.
Actually, gang, sorreh - it's my fault. I have my daily sit-on-his face from 12-12:30 and want to take full advantage of the semilubed Pinocchio effect.
ow
I'm confused. I would think that you would want him to lie, to tell the truth, to lie, to tell the truth, etc., etc.
Since he only lies, don't you end up about 30 ft in the air by 12:30?
more like taken around the world three times.
*heads off to Stevo's bunk*
Honesty wise, and I hate the Dems for making W look good in comparison, at least Saddam had some history of WMD. These people are vermin.
You forgot the part where during the campaign he was against an individual mandate, too.
Against it to the point of ridiculing Hillary in ads about it!
Wow, forgot about that. This guy is a real piece of er... work. I can't believe nobody in the major media will call him on all this bullshit. Well, yes I can believe it but it's frustrating just the same.

Great video here summarizing Obama and the individual mandate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buCogaex3Do
I was against the mandate, before I was for it.
i got mine so fuck you
The lies must be making the blue dogs nervous. Parker Griffith is only the first to go, the way I see it. Pelosi's house tactics and Obama's incompetence can't be making conservative district Democrats feel very secure.
Really, this is counterproductive.
Wouldn't it be a lot simpler to just list the campaign promises on healthcare reform that have actually been kept?
I'll check back tomorrow sometime.
Sure, here you go:
Wow, that was easy!
Maybe he's telling the lies to impress his progressive friends. They love it when a Democrat tells little lies to get their huge agenda in the door.

Every incumbent out.
We should vote out the replacements for the incumbents, too, just to be thorough.
You forget to mention the whopper about anyone who likes their current health care plan will be able to keep it.
Note: That's from Obama's campaign website. It's like he doesn't expect us to check, or something.
Au contraire, Matt. That's transparency.
It's not like there's a guy with a thick mustache, a sombrero, a bottle of tequila and a pair of pliers.
there's a guy with a thick mustache, a sombrero, a bottle of tequila and a pair of pliers.
Sounds like my dentist!
Sounds like my dentist, too, but she's pretty good.
Affirmative action aided Ivy grads tend to be prevaricators.
I was wrong.
I'd rather feel confident about the future than smug.
Well, you're not going to get the former so you might as well try to get the latter.
Leave no incumbent standing.
Reformer from Chicago. Who couldn't see that was a problem? Yep, color me smug.
Epi put me into a playful mood, so I ask:
Can Obama lie (about health care) without opening his mouth?
Hark! What's that I hear? could it be hoofbeats and bugles?
More than 300 pages of files that the Federal Bureau of Investigation kept on Michael Jackson, who died on June 25, were released by the bureau on Tuesday, detailing its investigations into charges of child molestation that were brought against the singer as well as extortion threats that were made against Mr. Jackson, right, in 1992.
Meh. You should see the files I have on the FBI.
You should see J Edgar Hoover's one gloved ghost dancing around grabbing it's crotch.
Thankfully, only a miniscule number of Americans enjoy reading libertarian bullshit written by fanatical right-wing fuckwits.
Apparently you are one of that miniscule number, shitmouth - you're here everyday.
Yeah, I admit that I get a kick out of reading this nonsense.
And, Morris, I get a kick out of you.
And you return as much in kind.
Full of shit! Full of shit!
The fingers in your ears "I can't hear you" tantrum isn't as meaningful in text. Have you given any consideration to video?
Say there, Mo: got anything to say to defend your hero from his own words? How about a flimsy rationalization?

Hit'n'Run, you've been livin' hell to me
You've busted my balls since 2003
I've seen 'em come and go and I've seen 'em take their marbles home
And long ago I stopped askin' why
Hit'n'Run, I hate every inch of you.
You've cut me and you've scarred me thru an' thru.
And I'll walk out a depleted, weaker man;
Damn you for makin' me question my congressman.
Hit'n'Run, I hate every inch of you.
It's like he doesn't expect us to check, or something.
The arrogant bastard doesn't care if anyone checks. He's got his Democrat Congressional majority and can do almost anything he pleases.
Sad but true.
I have been saying for years that I wish politicians were at least better at lying to us. Give us something it would take a few hours to disprove.
Ineffective spendthrift that he was, Bush looks better and better everyday.
It's becoming more difficult by the day to think otherwise, despite his "spending like a drunken sailor."
These drunken sailors are even more plowed, the bastards have maxed out all of our credit cards and opened new limitless lines of credit in our names.
Drunken sailors spend their own money.
Drunken pirates don't.
Hey, where are Tony and the rest of the knee-jerkers? Why aren't they here defending Hopey McChange?
-jcr
Oh, never mind. I just noticed Morris trying to defend him by turning the snot spigot on full-blast.
-jcr
Only racist t-baggers are compelled to fact check the president.
RACIST T-BAGGERS!!
I know the guy was lying when he said hope and change. It doesn't take a rocket scientist. It just wasn't apparent that he was going to flat out lie like a blue tick doowg under a 1972 Chevette in my front yard in August.
Jesus may be a bald faced liar but comparing him to a blood sucking tick is blasphemous.
Exactly. It's a horrible insult to blood-sucking ticks.
This kind of brazen bullshit may play with Ezra Klein,
That poor motherfucker never had a chance. Before the age of twelve, his spirit had to have been broken by Better Than Ezra jokes to justify the shitty and whimpering rationales that comprise the content of his work.
At least Better Than Ezra had a functioning brain cell the band took turns using when one was needed.
LOL, why should he be any different than those before him? LOL. Thats what politicians do best, they LIE.

One thing has bugged me about the public option. Supposedly, the insurance companies have a monopoly on providing health insurance.
Isn't that the same thing as saying that car manufacturers have a monopoly on manufacturing cars?
Or that the steel-producing companies have a monopoly on producing steel?
One thing has bugged me about the public option. Supposedly, the insurance companies have a monopoly on providing health insurance.
Isn't that the same thing as saying that car manufacturers have a monopoly on manufacturing cars?
Or that the steel-producing companies have a monopoly on producing steel?
Yes, each of those statements is essentially the same as the others.
Are we learning yet?
Monopoly is just a synonym for "bad thing".
My girlfriend tried to tell me yesterday that Walmart is a monopoly. Then she went on to say that she liked Target better. And I'm thinking, the existence of Target alone is contrary to your assertment that Walmart is a monopoly, baby.
Slut, I hope your GF is prettier than she is smart.
Parker Brothers has a monopoly on producing Monopoly.
Anyone?
The process has already set in.
In that way it will finally, undeniably, emperically demonstrate that their vision of society is not merely unworkable, but corrupt at its core.
Like there aren't already any number of undeniable, empirical demonstrations of this fact.
They. Don't. Care. Its all about some twisted combination of Feeling Good About Themselves and Having Power Over Others.
HACK WATCH!!!
Here is someone saying he never campaigned on a public option.
DING Frys are done!
Like Nostradamus, Obama used enough weasel words that he could claim both sides of almost every opinion.
"Can Obama Open His Mouth Without Lying About Health Care?"
No, because, you see, on Planet Zircon, from whence Lightworker Obama descended, nothing you ever say is a lie...as long as you believe it.
Verstehen Sie?
In the not to distant past there were politicians that told the truth, their word was their bond and you could bank on it, not so with this President. His word is only as good as it is expedient, why would you believe anything he says, his whole life is a lie, his history, his friends, his 'autobiography' and his everything.
Obama proves to be one of the best presidents in the history of this country. Some timie later, GOP will be building statues for him - as they should have for Jimmy Carter. Seems like my predictions from November 2008 hold quite well.
The title is but a subset of the larger problem: Can Obama open his mouth without lying?
Let's not be small about this. The question is; can he open his mouth without lying?
Charlie
-Term Limits
-Lifetime ban on lobbying for any corporation, foreign government or international non profit in exchange for serving in Congress
-Life in prison for violating the public trust.
-Life in prison A hangman's noose in front of the Capitol Building for violating the public trust.
Fixed that for you.
