Reason.tv: A Very Special Thanksgiving Message
It's that time of year when we all take stock of what we're thankful.
And here at Reason.tv, we know that things are so much better now than they were a year ago. Of course they are. Aren't they? Aren't they?…
1.20 minutes long. Produced by Meredith Bragg and Nick Gillespie.

OMG!
Conservative radio and TV killed Nick Gillespie!!
You bastards!!!
I'm thankful for sideboob.
Help support Rand Paul for Senate in Kentucky over his Global Warming believing opponent!
1. He's a life-long principled small government conservative that privately built his successful medical practice as a career doctor.
2. Dr. Paul can win and is actually *leading* in the latest independent poll 35%-32%!
3. He has publicly rejected earmarks/pork and will propose term limits as his first act in the Senate.
4. For every budget that is unbalanced he will attach an amendment to cut the spending needed to make it balanced.
His opponent in the Republican primary:
1) is an ex-Clinton supporting Democrat squish backed to the hilt by the GOP establishment, refuses to take a no earmarks pledge and is a career politician,
2) is a supporter of global warming theory so much so he was the keynote speaker at an event hosted by the hard left environmental group Focus the Nation http://is.gd/53cty
3) is funded almost solely by the questionable Mitch McConnell and his DC network of special interests ( http://is.gd/53cEW ). In addition to voting for the bailout and then being one of the minority of Republicans to continue TARP McConnell is one of the worst porkers in congress and one of non-partisan C.R.E.W's "Top 15 Most Corrupt Members of Congress"
4) attacked Rand Paul for not blindly committing to McConnell and stated he "absolutely, 100% will vote to keep" the tainted McConnell as GOP leader in opposition to a reformer like Jim DeMint. The subtext is that more wasteful pork can be brought in for Kentucky special interests at the expense of taxpayers in Kentucky and across the rest of the country.
This Senate race is receiving national attention because it's a perfect opportunity for the grassroots small goverment movement to have one of their own as a Senator.
Please consider making a pledge to support Dr. Paul on Dec. 16th "moneybomb" effort so that we can again shock the establishment on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.
Pledge at RandsTeaParty.com and check out his campaign website at RandPaul2010.com
cool story bro
I'm thankful for meeting the economist projected 2% rise in durable goods orders.
Or not.
Ha ha, awesome video...
We all know Nick's neck is too thick.
Great clip. 😀
I hear they found "FED" written on his leather jacket.
Classic 😀
I'm hoping some "There's nothing funny about suicide!" scolds turn up for the thread!
Someone I loved did commit suicide via hanging and so "there is nothing funny about suicide" to me. Yet I would never consider scolding about it - - - that would be unREASONable.
Also - after seeing Inglorious Basterds I've realized you really and truly can find humor in the darkest places.
Aw, that was just mean.
Great vid. Things like this have made Reason links one of the things I'm always forwarding to friends. Four of those friends have changed their affiliation to independent (three Dems and one Repub) and now describe themselves as libertarian.
One step at a time . . .
One man started with 12.
I am thankful that the various Reason contributors who, when surveyed last year, were excited on any level about the idea of an Obama presidency are now openly admitting their folly.
I'll admit I was hopeful for the few things I agreed with him about. GTMO, getting out Iraq, Pot, and even a little hopeful for the transparency. I was cynical about it all actually coming to fruition. Between the cynicism and my being scared of kool aid ever since the incident of August 1978 I was pretty sure at best only one of the those things would happen.
Looks like hope bit me in the ass.
Silly rabbit, hope is for dopes, and you fell for it.
I didn't vote for him. I was just hoping for the best of the worst situation.
No real shame in that. Many of us secretly hoped that what was so obviously generic campaign pandering would somehow translate into policy.
A man of conviction in the Oval Office is a rarity, and when you get one, his convictions aren't often the same as yours.
His conviction is in retardedness and he is going full-tilt.
Never go full retard...
Man of convictions? Whaddaya talkin' about? They ain't been able to pin nothin' on him in court. Can't even convict him for felony document fraud.
Who was bequeathed the leather jacket?
Ghost Rider.
Fuck you, Obama, you cunt.
Same here, adding "Executive authority" to your list, b/c he made a point of it during the campaign.
Instead, he's double crossed on the few issues where I agreed with him, and been horrible on the issues I knew I wouldn't like his stances anyway.
One of my liberal friends, who was trying to get me to vote for him instead of Barr kept bugging me "not to throw my vote away". A couple months ago, I sent him a list pretty similar to the one you complied, and said "I'm glad I didn't throw my vote away on that piece of shit."
Sometimes throwing your vote away on a third-party candidate is the only decent thing you can do as an American. I remember throwing my vote away on Badnarik in '04 and wish I would've done it last election even though it would've ultimately been an empty gesture.
A third party vote is never throwing it away. As one vote in a million, it's 100 times stronger than one vote in 100 million in terms of message it sends.
Single votes only matter on the Supreme Court, the Senate, the House maybe the college sports polls.
Seriously when was the last time an election came down to a single vote. It gets close, but never to just one.
All you can really do is try to stop the 'mandate' bullshit calls.
Reason.tv missed the Carradine clip before Gillespie hanged himself. We know it was an accident.
Actually at first I thought they had lynched Obama for being a bad dancer. Be careful with this video. The MSM will definitely see RACISM! in it.
Obama wouldn't be caught dead in those shoes.
He wears Bruno Maglias too?
Bud Light presents: Real Men of Genius.
(Real Men of Genius!)
Today, we salute you, Mr. Really Really Really Bad Dancer.
(Mr. Really Really Really Bad Dancer!)
Arms swinging, knees bending, head bobbing; to no particular rhythm. You're either dancing, or you have fleas.
(Call me a doctor!)
As soon as you hit the dance floor, the taunts begin. "Is that all you got, playa?" Unfortunately, yes: that's all you got.
(Pour it on now!)
Who's in da house? Some guy who can't dance; that's who's in da house.
(You're a star!)
So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, Mr. Happy Feet, because you really put the "oogie" in "boogie."
(Mr. Really Really Really Bad Dancer!)
Jeez, Obama is a worse dancer than i am, and i'm hella white.
I'm thankful for beer, which allows me to forget about life for a little while.
Xeones,
Through the miracle of polygenic inheritance, Obama managed to be half-black yet have absolutely no rhythm.
Millard Fillmore was actually the only president who could bust a move.
The one thing I'm thankful for is that when the shit hits the fan, I'll be too drunk to care.
I'm thankful for teh intertubez.
The swinging feet at the end! That was fucking beautiful.
Well done all. I laughed quite hard.
What if you forced your kids to eat all the disgusting food YOU were forced to eat as a kid? Kids Taste Traditional Thanksgiving Terrors
I don't get the last scene with the swinging feet. Is that a suicide or lynching????????????
My only point is that if you take the Bible straight, as I'm sure many of Reasons readers do, you will see a lot of the Old Testament stuff as absolutely insane. Even some cursory knowledge of Hebrew and doing some mathematics and logic will tell you that you really won't get the full deal by just doing regular skill english reading for those books. In other words, there's more to the books of the Bible than most will ever grasp. I'm not concerned that Mr. Crumb will go to hell or anything crazy like that! It's just that he, like many types of religionists, seems to take it literally, take it straight.
