Help support Rand Paul for Senate in Kentucky over his Global Warming believing opponent!
1. He's a life-long principled small government conservative that privately built his successful medical practice as a career doctor.
2. Dr. Paul can win and is actually *leading* in the latest independent poll 35%-32%!
3. He has publicly rejected earmarks/pork and will propose term limits as his first act in the Senate.
4. For every budget that is unbalanced he will attach an amendment to cut the spending needed to make it balanced.
His opponent in the Republican primary:
1) is an ex-Clinton supporting Democrat squish backed to the hilt by the GOP establishment, refuses to take a no earmarks pledge and is a career politician,
2) is a supporter of global warming theory so much so he was the keynote speaker at an event hosted by the hard left environmental group Focus the Nation http://is.gd/53cty
3) is funded almost solely by the questionable Mitch McConnell and his DC network of special interests ( http://is.gd/53cEW ). In addition to voting for the bailout and then being one of the minority of Republicans to continue TARP McConnell is one of the worst porkers in congress and one of non-partisan C.R.E.W's "Top 15 Most Corrupt Members of Congress"
4) attacked Rand Paul for not blindly committing to McConnell and stated he "absolutely, 100% will vote to keep" the tainted McConnell as GOP leader in opposition to a reformer like Jim DeMint. The subtext is that more wasteful pork can be brought in for Kentucky special interests at the expense of taxpayers in Kentucky and across the rest of the country.

This Senate race is receiving national attention because it's a perfect opportunity for the grassroots small goverment movement to have one of their own as a Senator.
Please consider making a pledge to support Dr. Paul on Dec. 16th "moneybomb" effort so that we can again shock the establishment on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

I am thankful that the various Reason contributors who, when surveyed last year, were excited on any level about the idea of an Obama presidency are now openly admitting their folly.

I was cynical about it all actually coming to fruition. I'll admit I was hopeful for the few things I agreed with him about.

Same here, adding "Executive authority" to your list, b/c he made a point of it during the campaign.

Instead, he's double crossed on the few issues where I agreed with him, and been horrible on the issues I knew I wouldn't like his stances anyway.

One of my liberal friends, who was trying to get me to vote for him instead of Barr kept bugging me "not to throw my vote away". A couple months ago, I sent him a list pretty similar to the one you complied, and said "I'm glad I didn't throw my vote away on that piece of shit."

Sometimes throwing your vote away on a third-party candidate is the only decent thing you can do as an American. I remember throwing my vote away on Badnarik in '04 and wish I would've done it last election even though it would've ultimately been an empty gesture.

My only point is that if you take the Bible straight, as I'm sure many of Reasons readers do, you will see a lot of the Old Testament stuff as absolutely insane. Even some cursory knowledge of Hebrew and doing some mathematics and logic will tell you that you really won't get the full deal by just doing regular skill english reading for those books. In other words, there's more to the books of the Bible than most will ever grasp. I'm not concerned that Mr. Crumb will go to hell or anything crazy like that! It's just that he, like many types of religionists, seems to take it literally, take it straight.
