So says my pal Tony Pierce of the L.A. Times, showing off his colleagues' handiwork:

That's the kind of map that some pol will use to argue that the decriminalization of marijuana leads to overuse.

Still no mention of the San Diego raids? Come on!

Here is a pretty good summary of the events so far.

On Wednesday, 9/9, local law enforcement swept through dispensaries in the San Diego area. The DA held a press conference this morning claiming there are no legal dispensaries in San Diego. That is simply utter bullshit and is the latest attempt by San Diego officials to prevent medical marijuana access in San Diego.

  6. jasno   16 years ago

I think this explains the timing of the raids:

State's attorneys trek to San Diego for annual meeting

So our local DA decided to show off for her friends in LE. How nice of her.

Reality check: That map says my block is on fire, and I'm sitting here and, well, lemme go check it out...

CLOMP CLOMP, clomp clomp, clomp clomp...

...clomp clomp, clomp clomp, CLOMP CLOMP.

    Puff, wheeze...

    SQUEAK.

Yeah, no fire here. View that map with skepticism.

Also, I think it's missing a couple places in operation now on Melrose east of Paramount Pictures. If those places are not licensed they're pretty brazen about their signage.

  9. Mari Dupont   16 years ago

Nice! At this rate, the dispensary-to-"patient" ratio will be 1:1 by next year.
    Talk about choice fatigue...

What if i want some opium for post op pain?

Oh well, it's a step in the right direction.

I really like the fact that CBS Television City ("7800 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90036") is specifically mentioned.

  12. Rhywun   16 years ago

    Where's the NYC map? Oh.

  13. DEA Interdiction and Investiag   16 years ago

Oddly, next to each leaf there's a McDonald's.

Actually, they're all Jack in the Boxes.

I would have thought In-And-Out Burgers.

You should also check out Oakland. There is a lot of dispensaries out there as well. I still don't know why it is not legalized yet, but looks like they might be doing something about it soon. http://www.campaignsthatmatter.com/articles/5-legalizing-marijuana-in-california
