    Teh AWESome!

completely unrelated: no mention of the Iowa ruling all day?

"But I have my warranty here, madam!"

"Yes, but you need to bring three notarized copies with another set of copies of your driver's license, sir. I already told you.

Also, you have to take your car to these official establishments for inspection for a full report on what is wrong with your car"

"What? I already have the report from the dealer"

"Yes, but that doesn't count! Your car has to be inspected by a State LICENSED automotive inspection company. Here's the list of establishments."

"This is ridiculous. Ok, is it going to be the same as having the pollution certification? Are they going to charge me for this?"

"Yes, depending on the establishment, they will."

    "Nice racket you're running here."

I asked about this in the misc. links post at the beginning of the day.

I figured it would be a hot topic.

...and sir, while you wait 60-90 days for your appointment, your vehicle will be held at our impound, er secure storage facility, as it does not meet the maximum leader's newest smog rules...next!

    Corporate rights

    Gun rights

    Rights to do drugs

    Gay rights.

I think I'm only half-trolling, too. Like, half on point.

Salon had already picked up the story by mid-morning as was getting into the long-term political ramifications.

Constitutional amendments in Iowa require the changes to be passed by the legislature in two separate sessions, then it goes to a public vote a year later.

The earliest practical date for a public vote on a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Iowa would be around November 2012. This means it would be a hot topic in the caucuses that kick off the presidential campaign.

So just like abortion skews presidential campaigns away from topics like coporate rights, gun rights, drug legalization, etc, this topic could be a dominant part of the news cycle for the next three years.

    [reposted, just like the video]

What? It only took three people to make this magnum opus? I would have expected a whole Hwd team to have been required just to do the writing, not to mention the brilliant camera work.

P.S. Can't Reason do anything useful? Anyone and their brother have already made dozens of cutesy videos using WindowsMovieMaker. Reason is adding nothing.

P.P.S. At one busy DMV I waited in line for over an hour, probably two. But, I didn't have an appointment. At a less crowded DMV without an appointment I've been in and out within a half an hour, and when I made an appointment it was even less.

They finally uploaded the video, and Lonewacker's still whining like a little bitch. STFU, already.

  10. Kolohe   16 years ago

This was featured on Fox News yesterday (the 'Live Desk') I think.

This is really well-done. Reason.tv videos are getting better and better. Keep up the good work.

Wait till we get universal healthcare....
