The Greatest Story Ever Told, With the Generous Support of Your Tax Dollars
Check out this propaganda for the new administration, under the headline "The story of the economic package":
As President Obama says, the economic recovery package is just one of three "legs of the stool" -- a milestone, but an early one, the very beginning of the long process of fixing the economic crisis we inherited.
Some of kind Democratic Party website? Bzzzt! It's the souped-up, Obamatastic whitehouse.gov, the official url of your executive branch. Other stirring first-person-plural tales you can find there (many with high-quality photography from Pete Souza), include "Help for the Homeowners" ("The housing plan President Obama unveiled today could directly help up to 9 million people -- but indirectly, it will help all of us"), "A Strong Start," and "Setting the bar high."

Shut the fuck up, ExecutiveBranch.
It's just an extension of the White House press department, right? And they only frame stuff in ways that make them look good.
So I don't know why nobody thought of this before...
Some of kind Democratic Party website? Should be "Some kind of Democratic Party website?"
"but indirectly, it will help us all".
You know, I'm going to go right out on a limb and say that there are probably some problems with that assertion.
"Stool" is a pretty apt description of the bills so far.
Welcome to perpetual campaigning. A new standard in politics.
Uh, Matt, are you suggesting that anyone will actually read a White House web site with their bullshit meters turned completely off? Are you saying that the White House could somehow pretend that it isn't under the control of the Democrats?
I'm not sure there's a story here.

IOW, a Democratic Party website.
"There's somebody at the door, Matt. He says he's from the Ministry of Truth. I didn't know librarians carried guns."
Isn't this the same kind of Pravda Soviet Union BS that the Kremlin put out for decades?
Wow, the White House website has articles and writing supportive of the current inhabitant of the White House! Shocking. Really. It's just awful.
Sorry, I just can't get outraged about that.
Should I just mail them my wallet now or wait a few days?
you guys just don't understand...
I'm struck by how clumsily written the stories are.
"As President Obama as said ..."
"Just like President Obama ..."
"In the words of President Obama ..."
They read like something out of North Korea.
Hey, give em a break - it's hard to compose your thoughts while tripping on MDMA.

Yawn. When has a government press release been devoid of politics, free of propoganda?
That would be never.
bingo with the win

It's all the man knows. He's jetting around the country campaigning while the Emanuel/Pelosi/Reid Triumvirate runs the country (into the ground).
There I was last night trying to escape politics by watching some mindless entertainment, and what do I see but his smug mug on the teevee, doing a commercial for his National Service bullshit.
Fuckin' guy... /Tony Soprano
The Obamas are the Perons, and we are becoming Argentina.
All reputable economists agree that free-market policies got us into this mess. How do you expect the failed policies of the past to get us out?
The solution to our crisis can't be left up tp the whims of the so-called "market".We need a plan, created by the the top experts in economics and public policy, to restore a secure and stable future and create jobs.
The site is called Reason I suggest you use some.
"All reputable economists"? Is this the modern-day equivalent of the Marxist "It is well known that ..."?
"We inherited. . ."
LOL. That doesn't explain why the Stock Market tanked since he was elected. No "hope" in the future of the market.
How do you expect the failed policies of the past to get us out?
Seems to me that artificially inflating the housing market is exactly the failed policy of the past that got us into this mess.
The Lone Biker of the Apocalypse knows more about economics than any of these yahoos in government:
"Price. A fair price. That's not what you say it is, and it's not what I say it is... It's what the market will bear."
Sorry, I just can't get outraged about that.
I say we toss Jammer out the airlock.
I say we toss Jammer out the airlock.
Nobody gets thrown out the airlock anymore; firing squad is the new hotness.

And Geithner is a top expert?
He can't even pay his own taxes.
His stools have legs? Is there no escape from this shit?
Oh, that mortgage bill is helping me all right. Helping me see that Obama and his ilk are nothing but communist thugs.
Soon enough it will be well beyond Tea Party time.
but indirectly, it will help all of us
It ain't helping any of us who have been renting while saving up a downpayment (yeah, I know, how quaint...), watching home prices spiral way out of our league. Government using our money to keep the prices artificially inflated and perpeturally out of our reach doesn't help us one bit.
