Out-fucking-standing article. Kilokudos are due Radley Balko, the most effective anti-drug war advocate in the nation today.

Reasonoids, please E-mail his op-ed to a friend who's not in the choir.

  2. Xeones   16 years ago

    Radley goes to 11.

    Seriously outstanding.

  3. ktc2   16 years ago

At this point there is no longer even so much as a "good faith" argument in support of the drug war. Anyone still supporting it is either evil or uninformed.

  4. Tyler   16 years ago

Props for absolutely schooling the pro-prohibition guy.

  5. Ken Shultz   16 years ago

dhex, on another site, linked to Balko's dismantling of Freddoso on Blogginheads.tv in regards to this article.

Did somebody link that somewhere already?

  6. Episiarch   16 years ago

The climax came in 1986, when Maryland basketball phenom and Boston Celtics draft pick Len Bias died of a cocaine overdose.

Who is the only Celtic under six feet?

    Len Bias.

    (That one never gets old.)

  7. FrBunny   16 years ago

Fantastic piece; accessible and comprehensive. You are a patriot and hero, Balko.

  8. TofuSushi   16 years ago

    Drugs should be free.

  9. Warty   16 years ago

Fuck Len Bias. The real tragic coke death in 1986 was Don Rogers. Cost the Browns a Super Bowl or two.

  10. Nick   16 years ago

    Tofu ruins everything.

The food of the same name sucks as well.

  11. sage   16 years ago

I love how the printer friendly version of the article, isn't. What a waste of paper.

  12. ev   16 years ago

broken record alert: you did fucking school him Balko. You were more expressive and informed than your sparring partner and had more specifics to spear him with. Beautiful.

And I am going to send that article to parents/friends/critics because of its beauticity. Not sure if that's a word. But it is now.
