Crime

RIP, Emperor's Club VIP

|

With all the fuss over what to do with Eliot Spitzer, rubber-neckers almost forgot about the state's punitive plans for the folks who arranged the governor's good times:

The petite madam at the center of the prostitution ring that brought down Eliot Spitzer is expected to plead guilty as soon as this week and dish dirt in an ongoing federal probe centered on the former governor.

Cecil "Katie" Suwal, 23, agreed yesterday to come clean on her role in the million-dollar Emperor's Club VIP ring, according to a statement by her lawyer, Alberto Ebanks.

"Ms. Suwal agreed to come to terms with the government and will accept responsibility for her involvement in the operations of the Emperor's Club VIP," Ebanks said. "She is contrite and she is determined to right her wrongs in a manner that is just and fair."

A source said Suwal has agreed to testify for the feds in a grand-jury investigation that could lead to criminal charges against Spitzer.

Sewal's and others' testimonies are going to be used in the probe against Spitzer, but one can't help but wonder what will be left of these people and the callgirls they employed when the feds are finished with them. I bet Spitzer's hoping he can quietly sneak back to suburbia without facing any charges. If he makes it out of this without having to wear a state-issued onesy, will he have the balls/integrity to lobby on behalf of the people who are likely to get locked up for providing him with a remedy for his libido-less marriage?

For more reason coverage of Spitzer's downfall, see here, here, here, and here.

  1. but one can’t help but wonder what will be left of these people and the callgirls they employed when the feds are finished with them.

Hopefully in prison for a long, long, long time.

  2. Spitzer isn’t going have to do anything to help Cecil “Katie” Suwal. By cooperating with the prosecutors, Sewal’s getting her sentence reduced.

  3. will he have the balls/integrity to lobby on behalf of the people who are likely to get locked up for providing him with a remedy for his libido-less marriage?

    Uh, give you one guess.

  4. Right her wrongs?

Who the hell did she “wrong”?

I swear the admissions of guilt that U.S. prosecutors demand from their prey are increasingly simillar to the stylized “confessions” that the Comissars would demand of those who had insufficient party loyalty.

  5. If he makes it out of this without having to wear a state-issued onesy

…it will be an unsurprising demonstration that the political class does not have to abide by the rules they force on the peasants.

  6. I know that the pressure of the State prevents this, but it would be so much nicer if people busted in high-profile ways for victimless crimes would state:

“People should have every right to do this. Other than the price paid for this persecution, I have no regrets.”

This “contrite and she is determined to right her wrongs” BS was likely fed to her by the prosecutors. I highly doubt she believes any such thing.

  7. To me, Ms. Suwal is a criminal only in the legal sense, not in the damning “moral” sense. But I suppose I live in a moral minority.

  8. Sewal’s and others’ testimonies are going to be used in the probe against Spitzer, but one can’t help but wonder what will be left of these people and the callgirls they employed when the feds are finished with them.

More American jobs being shipped overseas. These women are now without jobs, will die in the streets, decompose and contribute to global climate change.

I suggest a government investigation to solve this problem.

  9. I swear the admissions of guilt that U.S. prosecutors demand from their prey are increasingly simillar to the stylized “confessions” that the Comissars would demand of those who had insufficient party loyalty.

An apology gets you a three point reduction in your Sentencing Commission guidelines score. Sometimes that’ll be enough to knock a few months off your sentence. Hence–grovelly apologies.

  10. 23 and already a multi-million dollar business owner? I sure feel like a slacker now.

  11. When do we get to learn the names of Clients 1-8?

  12. I swear the admissions of guilt that U.S. prosecutors demand from their prey are increasingly simillar to the stylized “confessions” that the Comissars would demand of those who had insufficient party loyalty.

Is that one of Naomi Wolf’s 10 steps?

  13. It’s a blast reading those old threads and seeing the joy of that week as Eliot crashed and burned.

  14. It’s definitely a difficult choice. Do I feel guilty over seeing a man possibly going to prison for the “crimes” of moving his own, legally gotten, money around and for having consensual sex? Or do I take joy in seeing this hypocritical asshat roasted over a spit that he helped construct?

    Life is so complicated…

  15. …it will be an unsurprising demonstration that the political class does not have to abide by the rules they force on the peasants.

Quod licet Jovi, non licet bovi. To be a dick and quote latin …

  16. I was thinking the same thing as Aleanto. 23 is incredibly young to already be a madam. She’s like the Bill Gates of hooking.

  17. Man, I only had one left on my “Buy 9 get the 10th free” card from them.

    What a rip.

  18. The important question that no one is asking:

    is she hot?

  19. The important question that no one is asking:

    is she hot?

    She’s attractive — I wouldn’t say “hot” (SFW)

  20. I swear the admissions of guilt that U.S. prosecutors demand from their prey are increasingly simillar to the stylized “confessions” that the Comissars would demand of those who had insufficient party loyalty.

Yeah, but they’re so obviously forced and artificial that they come with a built in wink-and-nod. Nobody believes them, except (apparently) the dumbfuck prosecutors.

  21. She’s attractive — I wouldn’t say “hot”

She’s ok, but waaaay too old.

  22. mk,
No worries, after you pay your membership dues, the newly formed Monarchs Club will honor your card.

  23. She’s attractive — I wouldn’t say “hot” (SFW)

She has really good legs, but the face is just ok.

  24. Warren,

That what they said when it was the Despots club!

And don’t even ask what I got for my card when the Archons club went under.

  25. She’s attractive — I wouldn’t say “hot” (SFW)

    Butterface.

  26. Now I am confused. I thought Spitzer was probing Suwal.

  27. I dislike Eliot Spitzer as much as the next libertarian. He’s an obnoxious, Bible thumping (Old Testament), blowhard big government liberal. But he and the prostitutes he patronized didn’t do anything that should be illegal. The shame is that there are laws that punish folks for engaging in this voluntary activity.

  28. If he makes it out of this without having to wear a state-issued onesy, will he have the balls/integrity to lobby on behalf of the people who are likely to get locked up for providing him with a remedy for his libido-less marriage?

C’mon, this guy’s a politician. He really doesn’t care if what he’s doing is right or wrong. All he cares about is public perception. If he thought the public would like to see fewer hookers prosecuted for hooking, he’d happily do the politically easy thing and lobby for them. So long as he thinks the public wants hookers locked up, he’ll contritely apologize to the public at large, announce that he and his wife are seeking counseling, and secretly go fuck some other hooker.

  29. Look on the bright side; at least New York city is now free of prostitution!

  30. She’s attractive — I wouldn’t say “hot”

Yeah, I don’t think she’s too cute at all.

Here are three drop dead gorgeous gals (great tunes too)

  31. Rick Barton,
All the girls you list look like boys NTTAWWT

  32. Warren,

Boys?? WTF?! One of us must be blind or something…Oh well, did you dig the tunes?

  33. Here’s a confession I’d like to see:

“Mr. Spitzer is contrite and determined to right his wrongs in a manner that is just and fair. He has agreed to crusade for the legalization of prostitution, the success of which would make his ‘crime’ moot.”

Then he will go on a fucking spree.

  34. ” a remedy for his libido-less marriage”

Maybe Mrs. Spitzer would be more willing to service her husband if she didn’t always have to worry where his wang has been.

  35. F**k Spitzer! I wanna talk about New Wave babes!
