Engaging in shameless self-promotion (and why the hell not?) here is the link to my interview where NPR host Alex Chadwick explores my robust thanatophobia as described in my recent column on Diagnosing Your Demise.

    "my robust thanatophobia"

As one of the posters on the previous thread said, after the first couple of hundred thousand years, it would get to be a bore.

However, I would like to have a millenium or two at the physiological age of 21.

If you measure life expectancy as a percentage of the age of the universe, it turns out that there is no real statistical difference between dying as an infant and living 120 years.

  4. Stevo Darkly   18 years ago

Well, crap. I'm only going to live to be 72. Probably because of the excess weight I'm carrying. But if I lose 40 pounds, it only buys me one lousy extra year.

Fuck that. If you need me, I'll be lying on the sofa, eating Cheezits and Ben & Jerry's.

Depends on who you believe. 120 is 2% of 6,000.

Stevo, you think you got problems? According to that Death Clock, I died on July 18, 1995!

Im gonna buld me a big ass boat and fill it with 2 of every kind of animal.

Then I will live to be 950 years.

"Im gonna buld me a big ass boat and fill it with 2 of every kind of animal."

After 39 days of kennel duty, you'll dive over the side.

  9. NoStar   18 years ago

Wouldn't it be more enjoyable to have a big bass boat and fill it with 2 kinds of bass, small and large mouth.

    NoStar:

Just leave off the b's on your fish and you'll have the best of all possible worlds.

I'm very sorry to hear that, DAR. You will be/have been missed.
