Leaf It Alone

|

Sandra Pote thought she was doing the street street-cleaning crew in Torquay, England, a favor by sweeping leaves that had fallen from a city tree near her home into a pile. Instead, she was accused of littering, and the street sweepers refused to remove the pile because some of the leaves had fallen into Pote's garden. "Householders have a responsibility to deal with leaves on their property," said a city spokesman.
