Cheap Laffs: Election 2006 edition
Five states and the District of Columbia hold primary elections tomorrow, which means dozens of no-hope fringe candidates are reaching the ends of their respective rainbows. As I've followed some of these campaigns for possible articles, I've seen some of the stupidest paid advertisements this side of "Apply directly to the forehead." Here are two favorites.
- Vincent Orange's poetic salute to himself (DC mayoral candidate).
- Allan Lichtman's too-far metaphor about politicians, rocks, and sludgy Maryland water (Maryland, U.S. Senate).
This is a case where localized knowledge can lead to better info; if you've seen a particularly pathetic or humorous campaign go on the air near you, flag it in comments.

But after Allan drowns, nothing will change anyway. Well, I guess that'll be one less living politician. Great plan; he's got my vote.
Q: What do you call a politician canon balling into a lake and sinking to the bottom like rocks?
A: A good start.
Not local to me, but http://www.stopshuler.com is a pretty funny campaign.

C'mon. Anyone who's actually called Vincent Orange ought to get elected to something, just so we can keep saying his name.
Honestly, who do Reasoners support for mayor? I can't stomach Fenty, Orange or Cropp. I'm leaning towards Marie Johns, but I'm really disappointed with the candidates. I wasn't the biggest fan of Tony Williams, but I predict that this time next year, we're going to be pretty damn nostalgic for the halcyon days of the Williams administration.
Crusader Rabbit,
Wouldn't it be better if Vincent Orange gets hired by the FBI or the CIA as an agent?
