Who Wants to be a Governor?

|

Writing at The Volokh Conspiracy, Russell Korobkin argues that California?s bizarre, ever-more-likely recall election to replace hated governor Gray Davis has such uniquely low barriers to entry—only costs $3,500 and a handful of signatures to get on a crowded, winner-take-all ballot—that we could be on the verge of a ?Jesse Ventura moment.? He then calls for nominees:

[W]hat if thoughtful people interested in public policy, with a range of political perspectives, not beholden to big-donor special interests, could agree (via the use of modern communication tools like the internet) on a smart non-politician to support for governor?

Let the nominations begin! Tony Pierce has my early support.
