Senator's Son Arrested with Heroin

The son of Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., was arrested after he allegedly tried to break into three cars and was found with heroin in his pocket, according to local news reports.

Jed Udall, 26, was arrested after residents saw him breaking into the vehicles in Eldorado Springs, The Daily Camera reported. Boulder County sheriff’s deputies found heroin in one of Udall’s pockets, the newspaper story said. Udall was charged with four counts of trespassing and one count of drug possession.

The senator said in a statement to Colorado news outlets that he and his wife are “deeply distressed” about Jed Udall’s arrest.

Trespassing? Colorado doesn't have a "burglary of a conveyance" charge?

I think we can all agree the worst offense is the possession.

Senator Daddy said they want to get their son "the help he needs".
For breaking into cars I figure a year on the county farm ought to do it, unless he has a record of larceny in which case a nickel in the state pen might be what he needs.

(SLD: I don't believe in prisons or fatal retributive violence for auto burglary. A good flogging would suffice if it were an option.)
