We only have Trump and turmoil now because of Hillary and the Lincoln parallel is a stunner
Abraham Lincoln returned to politics from law primarily due to the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, which allowed for the potential expansion of slavery into new territories. This act was a direct violation of the Missouri Compromise, and it reignited the debate over slavery, prompting Lincoln to re-engage in political activism. He felt compelled to address the issue, especially after his Peoria Speech in October 1854, where he voiced his strong opposition to the expansion of slavery.
