My Coordinates
Many people have asked me whether my volokh at law.ucla.edu e-mail address will continue to keep working. It will, because I will remain affiliated with UCLA as an emeritus professor (effective July 1); my official title will be Gary T. Schwartz Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus at UCLA School of Law, as well as Distinguished Research Professor ("Research Professor" in the UC system generally means someone who has retired from teaching but continues to do scholarship).
I will also be working full-time as a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. My official title will be Thomas M. Siebel Senior Fellow, and my e-mail address there will be volokh at stanford.edu. I will be getting e-mail sent to either address.

Congratulations on the progression of your career.
Does this mean you will be moving to the Stanford area? Will you be doing any public appearances or events? I live nearby so I could attend.
Thanks! I will indeed be moving up to the Stanford area, and I hope to do quite a few events at Hoover or at Stanford more broadly (as I have already in the last few months).
Best of luck, Professor.
I always find your opinions informative, and look forward to your continued work with Hoover.
And now, cue Resentful Arthur...
(I must've scared 'm off.)
I suppose anyone sending an email to both addresses would be self-identifying as a spammer ... whatever he's selling, don't buy it!
May the Schwartz be with you!
Good one! Ha, ha.
Yes, I'm glad that Mel Brooks thought of it!
Mel who?
I see your Schwartz is as big as mine!
For those not following, schwarz can be another word for schwanztucker.
What about a pianist?
A simple error by a hard-of-hearing genie.
My title is research assistant lol
Good job and I hope the life changes work out 🙂
Congrats and well deserved!
The comments section here is often poop. Your posts are underappreciated. The blog is lucky you continue to post despite what must be your hectic schedule.
Congratulations!
I know that changing positions (and locations, I assume) is a stressful experience in life, and I hope everything goes smoothly.
I hope this position is everything you are looking for, and I hope to see your continued posts here.
" I will be getting e-mail sent to either address."
Lucky you. Hope you have a big mailbox.
He has the biggest most powerful Schwartz.
Best of luck Professor!
Congratulations on retirement. Getting off the treadmill and focusing on what's really important is one of the great things about aging. (I won't bother to list the things that are not so great, but bear in mind that aging is better than the alternative.
Most universities allow retirees to keep their .edu email messages, so not surprising UCLA does too, (I still have mine as a retiree)
Much appreciate the kind words!
