The decision seemed outrageous. Juge Kosinski persuaded me it was not. When the property is taken for the traditional public highway, who benefits? Private trucking firms, operated at a profit. So Kelo is not different.
The decision applies to chattel. It says property, not real property. It has the potential to help transplant candidates with organs that would itherwise be donated to the worms. It could save 50000 lives a year.
