5/6/1776: Virginia Declaration of Rights by George Mason is published. Thomas Jefferson relied on this document when drafting the Declaration of Independence.

One of the debates around the time of the Revolution and Commonwealth in the UK was whether the king wielded divine authority, or whether those who selected and accepted the promises of the king were vested with divine authority. "We the People" is therefore an answer to a question that had been percolating for some time (with the further addition of mostly eliminating the privileged electors), not a concept necessarily springing full-grown from the later Enlightenment.

Point of Order your honor. Dates in Supreme Court History cannot predate existence of the SCOTUS...
Based on Josh's previous behavior, he could have easily misstated the date as 1876, which would obviate your objection.
Point of contention: did the Supreme Court exist the instant the Constitution was ratified, or not until Congress approved the first, or last, justice appointment? If not til the appointment(s), would the Constitution itself be off limits for these postings?
