Three upcoming talks at the Association of American Law Schools Annual Meeting
On January 7 and 8, I will be giving three presentations on panels at the Association of American Law Schools Annual Meeting, including two at the parallel Federalist Society Faculty Conference, which has been incorporated into the AALS program. For those AALS and Federalist Society conference attendees who may be interested, here are the titles and times:
Jan. 7, 1:30-3 PM: Panel on "What Will and Should Happen to Affirmative Action after Fisher v. University of Texas." The other participants are Erwin Chemerinsky (Dean, UC Irvine), Devon Wayne Carbado (UCLA), Brian Fitzpatrick (Vanderbilt), Nancy Leong (University of Denver), and Eric Segall (Georgia State University). I have summarized some of my thoughts about this case here.
Jan. 8, 10:30-11:45 AM: Works in Progress Panel (Federalist Society Faculty Conference): My presentation will be on the forthcoming revised and expanded Second Edition of my book Democracy and Political Ignorance: Why Smaller Government is Smarter (Stanford University Press).
Jan. 8, 4:30-6 PM: Panel on "Upward Redistribution, Government Policy, and Rent Seeking," (Federalist Society Faculty Conference). The other panelists will be David Snyder (American University), and a third participant still to be announced. I summarized some of my thoughts on the important issues addressed by this panel here.
Room numbers and other logistical information are available at the AALS conference program.
