From professor to justice
Yesterday, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder appointed University of Michigan law professor Joan Larsen to an open seat on the Michigan Supreme Court. This makes Larsen the second Michigan faculty member to join the court in the past three years.
Prior to joining the Michigan faculty, Larsen clerked for Judge David Sentelle on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. She also worked at the Office of Legal Counsel in the Justice Department and the D.C. office of Sidley & Austin.
Here are announcements on the appointment from Michigan, the University Record and the court.
