Now there's proof that you need me
"Evgeny means necessary!" was an odd exclamation in the play-by-play announcing of Evgeny Kuznetsov's game-winning goal in Monday night's Washington Capitals-New York Islanders game. Since I'm Evgeny, though, I'm fine with that. (Actually, Kuznetsov's and my Russian names are pronounced "Yevgeniy," but "Evgeny" is a not uncommon transliteration.) Actually, the Greek original means "noble," from "eu-" (good) and "genes" (birth), so Evgeny Kutznetsov put together means, more or less, "noble descendant of a smith." But I'll take "necessary" instead.
