How Biden's Agenda Is Causing Inflation
Too Many (Government) Dollars Are Chasing Too Few Goods.
HD DownloadThe Consumer Price Index (CPI) tracks the cost of everyday items. It's jacked up a whopping 6.8 percent over the past year, the biggest increase in almost 40 years. Gas is up 51 percent, beef is up 20 percent, and furniture by 11 percent.
This is making the nightly news sound a little too much like a rerun of That '70s Show, a sitcom set in a decade famous for ever-rising prices and useless "Whip Inflation Now" buttons that Gerald Ford tried to stick on everybody from running mate Bob Dole to former Beatle George Harrison.

Back in the 1970s, Ford was better known for literally and figuratively stumbling than for his economic acumen, especially when it came to inflation, which soared into double digits shortly after he took office. Ford believed that the way to beat inflation was to browbeat companies into keeping prices down and Americans into becoming bargain hunters. He declared a war on high prices, referring to inflation as "domestic enemy number one."
"I pledge to my fellow citizens that I will buy, when possible, only those products and services priced at or below present levels," promised Ford.
Joe Biden is looking reminiscent of the 38th president, and not simply because he also has trouble with airplane steps.
Biden, his advisers, and his champions in the press are ignoring the tough lessons of the past by downplaying inflation or bizarrely claiming it only freaks out rich people. Then there's leading Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D–Mass.), who seemed to be channeling Gerald Ford when she tweeted out that the reason "your Thanksgiving groceries cost more this year" was "because greedy corporations are charging Americans extra just to keep their stock prices high."

Even worse, Biden and crew are delusionally pronouncing that we can tame inflation by pumping massive amounts of government money into the economy—a course of action that will almost certainly make everything more expensive. "What this package will do is lower some of the most important costs, what [families] pay for health care, for child care. It's anti-inflationary in that sense," said Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen in defense of the recently passed $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and promises of even-bigger bills related to the president's "Build Back Better" agenda.
What Ford, Biden, Warren, and Yellen have in common is a failure to understand inflation's most important underlying cause, which the Nobel Prize–winning economist Milton Friedman was explaining with unique clarity back in the 1970s. "To understand the cause of inflation, you must understand that it is anywhere and everywhere a monetary phenomenon," said Friedman. Supply-chain issues and rising demand are factors too, but the biggest contributors come from the government and the Federal Reserve.
We've seen absolutely massive increases in government spending over the past two years, which have been paid for by printing money and historic boosts in the money supply. When you print money it means that there are more dollars chasing basically the same amounts of goods and services, which causes prices to rise. In just the past three fiscal years, federal spending has swollen to nearly $7 trillion a year, up from about $4.4 trillion in fiscal year 2019. Spending was $6.6 trillion in 2020, and $6.8 trillion in 2021.
As the government borrows more to pay for its spending and the Fed creates money to buy that debt, the central bank's balance sheet has more than doubled between March 2020 to November 2021. The result is that the supply of dollars has increased by nearly 40 percent over the past 2 years, which is an off-the-charts record.
Short of going into recession, the traditional way to squeeze out inflation has been to raise interest rates and restrict the amount of money in circulation by raising taxes or cutting spending. But there's simply no reason to believe that Biden or anyone else in Washington is committed to the sort of fiscal and monetary discipline that would tame inflation. In fact, the president's infrastructure bill jacks up the very entitlement spending that is the major driver of long-term spending. Not only is he trying to expand access to and coverage offered by existing programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, he's pushing for tax credits for parents and new entitlements for child care and universal preschool.
Another thing that's changed over the past 40 years is that the publicly held debt has more than quintupled as a share of gross domestic product. In 2022, the Congressional Budget Office predicts that interest payments on the debt will be 5.7 percent of total spending, more than doubling to 11.6 percent by 2031. And that's assuming interest rates stay low. Squeezing inflation out of the economy by hiking interest rates is never a popular political stance. Since it will absolutely devastate the government's balance sheet, it will be even harder now.
Back in the '70s, Friedman likened the early stages of inflation to alcoholism. Politicians get to spend more money, tax revenues increase without passing new legislation, and some consumers feel like they are gaining purchasing power as their wages go up. "Inflation is just like alcoholism," he warned. "In both cases, when you start drinking or when you start printing too much money, the good effects come first and the bad effects come only later. That's why in both cases there's a strong temptation to overdo it, to drink too much and to print too much money."
Here's a final insult: Even the price of booze is going up, so not only will we have more sorrows, it's going to cost us more to drown them.

Depends. If it’s a legitimate rape, the woman’s body has a way of shutting that down…..
Perhaps, but please, dear god, not disco.
I dunno...if we could swap out rap for disco that would be an acceptable trade.
dude even disco is better than today's nonsense
Vastly better!
I've cornered the market on both pet rocks and silver.

'Gas is up 51 percent"
You're full of shit. Gas has been up and down and more expensive in the past and it has shit to do with the federal budget y'all are just using it to push your agenda.
Oh. So futures estimates don't effect current prices based on exploratory contracts? Weird. Same thing happened under Obama when contracts were limited even though Obama relied on growth from private and state lands, not federal. And then when biden pulls the same policy prices jumped way up again.
Almost like fifty centers aren't well versed in economics.
Oil prices are set by a cartel more or less. It's straight up big money rigging the market and you guys can't even see it or acknowledge it because you're so twisted up by big money propaganda.
You are so hilariously wrong I can't stop laughing. Please do go on with your expertise.
Never thought sir strudel was a parody, but now I’m considering it.
Nope. He is stupid like strike. They simply go find what kos and left reddit are saying and repeat without any inspection or understanding.
Shrike*
I bet you dont even understand the difference between the crude and refined oil markets.
The refined marketers go to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The crude ones to go county fairs.
You mean .... gasp ... Joe Biden is a member of that cartel, and that is why he put the brakes on American gas and oil exploration and production while begging OPEC+ to increase theirs?
Man, TILT!
lol
As long as Joe Biden gets his 10% he is happy.
Given that there is a 10 year back log in developing oil leases you are correct that new exploratory leases will have close to zero impact on today's prices. The markets have a problem looking 6 months out let alone 10 years.
So explain what happened with Biden and his policies.
Closing supply chains, like pipelines, will do that.
Oh like Russian hackers and hurricanes

That tar oil pipeline called Keystone didn't mean jack shit - you moronic Canuck.
How about actual rigs in operation (USA)? Went from 1600 under Obama to a measly low of 250 under the Dotard.

Read and weep, pal.
And now under Biden drilling rigs have doubled.
That is not this fictitious "inflation". That is called "supply and demand". Look it up sometime.

Turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.
Oh, and if turd uses any numbers in a comment, assume they mean the opposite of what he claims; they are either outright lies or cherry-picked such as to show the opposite of what they actually mean.
turd has had his faced wiped with them quite often, but returns to post the same lie time and again. turd is one REALLY stupid sumbitch.

U.S. energy consumption, production, and exports reach record highs in 2018
turd will cherry-pick those numbers and claim Trump is worse than Biden.
Shitlord and other lefty ignoramuses will buy it while others laugh.
So?
All three will reach record highs again soon.
Demand for energy is only increasing.
If everything was shut down by trumpz how were huhighs met dummy? Do you have any fucking understanding of what you post?
Dildo: Trump had less rigs in operation than Obama.
Jesse: But actual production reached reached record highs in 2018.
Dildo: So?
Your paymasters really deserve better, dildo.

"That tar oil pipeline called Keystone"
If you actually knew what you were talking about, you would've known that;
1. the oil Keystone would be carrying would have been 95% conventional and fracking, rather than oilsands, and almost 50% American from the Dakotas, etc.
Your assertion was a deliberate lie because you know this.
2. The pipeline when finished still wouldn't meet demand, and additional pipelines were needed. These are permanently on hold because Keystone was killed in the cradle.
3. This doesn't actually stop oil from being shipped. It's just that pipelines were infinitely cheaper and safer than the current means, rail lines.
Oh, you know who has huge investments in those railcars carrying all the oil? Your billionaire environmentalist pals, Tom Steyer, George Soros and Warren Buffett. All huge Biden donees. Funny, huh?
4. Drilling rigs in operation means fuck all as you already know. It's service rigs and active wells that matter. The number of drilling rigs is due to geology reports and state permit boards. They have fuck all to do with economic conditions and presidents. If the market isn't right they'll drill and then cap the well for later.
Also, a lot of the current activity is catch-up from being forcibly shut down by Covid last year.
You have to be retarded or a DNC propagandist to say that exploratory drilling matters more than transportation infrastructure.
It always amazes me how you're always trying to trick us with such retarded arguments.
I remember Lac Megantic.
And that's what pipelines solve, but somehow cleaner, safer, cheaper forms of transportation are anti-environmental when they cut into the $$$ being made by billionaire Democratic party donees.
It would also free up those less safe for petroleum means of shipping for other commodities. Not that the US has had any delays on moving products lately…
I'm not convinced that it's an attempt to trick.
I think its proof that HE has been tricked.
Buttplug is almost right this time, it was shutting down existing pipelines and canceling permits that destroyed our energy independence.
Take a bow, asshole.
And Biden cancelled the Keystone pipeline as soon as he took office.
You do realize that there is a record amount of goods making it to markets. The 'supply' chain problem, with the exception of microprocessors, is a result of excess demand, not so much a problem getting product to market.
Thank you for the laugh.
Ships full of containers waiting offshore to be unloaded called and said you were an idiot.
Ridiculous. With the (union) truckers running 24hrs, it's clearly a sign that the Brandon recovery is TOO good. We urgently need to increase the ranks of our (union) truckers to keep America booming!
Opening ports to non-union truckers clearly would make no difference and there is no horse-trading going on mid-manufactured crisis. Do not believe your lying eyes.
I agree here. Gasoline is a poor indicator of inflation. There are simply too many variables involved in its pricing. We have seen gasoline rise and fall while other communities stay at similar price levels.
Do agree we have inflation just suggest an alternate indicator.
So your belief inflation is only in the energy sector?
That's a reasonable take. What would be the best indicators?
This should be an enlightening discussion.
Probably some index, like Comsumer Price Index, that measures inflation over a group of consumables. Any single consumable might be affected by an outside influence, in grouping you hope to smooth data from an outlier.
BTW - The article notes the CPI was up 6.8 for the year and 0.8% in November 2021. So, we are experiencing inflation. Some of that was the demand as the pandemic got better and that may recede. But it not going down enough not to be concerned.
Straying to far off character with this one.
#disappointing
Although it does make Dee look stupid with her sealioning, so maybe I was too hasty with my judgment.
Oh, agreed. I think we are seeing a combination of price increases because of special circumstances, and real inflation (as Milton Friedman would define it).
So, anyway, a consumer “basket”.
That’s a reasonable indicator.
Glad you asked. Otherwise how would you know the Comsumer Price Index might be a good indicator of inflation, Deelion?
Producer price index is up even more. Shrike and Mike will ignore that as well.
She’s just asking questions!
I swear every day I think Mike can't get more stupid, but day after day you continue to impress.
Inflations is high. Gas prices have risen even higher.
Do agree we have inflation just suggest an alternate indicator.
Spittin tobaccy is the new inflation indicator gold standard. Up 10¢ a pouch!
That's why the fed ignores energy prices and only looks at core inflation.
Ah, yes, the core inflation that the ordinary consumer who does not buy food or energy experiences.
Yes, it is. Plus Biden’s idiotic climate measures. They’re all priced into the petroleum market. If you weren’t such an ignorant democrat you might have learned how commodity markets work. Especially this one.
So the fact that the price of oil is presently at a high enough level to cover costs of production is a problem? Especially after going the last 10 months prior to Biden at less than the cost of production.
Don't smoke the CNN. Not even once.
Gas is up because of inflation and companies are hesitant to bring offshore drilling back online. Basically oil needs to be over ~$80/bbl for drill ships and platforms to be profitable where Saudi can break even at $20/bbl or perhaps even lower and US land drilling probably breaks even at $30-45 depending on how new the well is. A quick WTI price check shows $76 so it could be a while before boats come back in force.
*Disclaimer, it's been a while since I worked in the patch so my numbers could be off a bit.
No gas is up because Trump's disastrous policies caused the market to price crude oil at less than the cost of production for his last 10 months of office. That is hat is called bad policy. Crude oil is now at a reasonable level to cover the cost of the most expensive production and leave a reasonable profit. That type of rise is good inflation.
LOL, pull your head out. The price of oil crashed at the start of the pandemic because of worries over the pandemic. Countries all over the world were doing what they could to support a reasonable price of oil including the US. Shit son, I may have been out of the patch for a while but I still have many friends and contacts that are still there. It takes a particular type of person to maintain such a myopic focus of the past. Let me guess, you aren't old enough to keep blaming GWB & Dick Cheney for all the worlds problems.
Prices now are currently climbing back up after Biden crashed the price with a release from the oil reserves. Note that wasn't Trump that pulled the plug while pardoning turkeys a bit more than a month back. You want to talk about a disastrous policy - that kind of meaningless symbolism doesn't do a thing to meaningfully boost supply but it does shock markets and cause instability and fear in futures buyers. It takes a special kind of idiot to jounce the markets like that just to try buy a bump in approval ratings.
You sound like the type who thinks free markets don't work and fails to understand that governments are slapping the scale for theatrical points in public opinion.
Oh dear, a leftie trying to ‘splain economics to us. Precious!
Cancelling pipelines, killing coal, derailing new production of gas - as well as too much money supply - these policies all increase fuel policies. Lefties aren’t very perceptive. They can talk about “supply,” or they can talk about “demand,” but the interrelationship between them is an arcane, unsolvable mystery as far as they are concerned. We SHOULD have finished our pipeline and been shipping coal plus twice as much LNG to Europe and elsewhere as we are, ending our European friends’ worries of freezing this winter. Instead, our technoplutocrats spent billions of dollars insuring they could install a crooked senile Chinese puppet.
The only time that gas has been more expensive was when Bidet was VP.
The leading economics expert in this comment section says inflation is a wingnut.com myth, the Biden economy is the best ever, and the only price increase in the entire country is an extra dime for a bag of spittin' tobaccy.
#DefendBidenAtAllCosts
Yeah, well, turd lies.
Pluggo the Price Prognosticator is never incorrect. Just ask him.
That sounds like a Stan Lee Marvel villain from the 60’s. Like Paste Pot Pete.
Both scared children.
Armed kids don't get badtouched. Ask Kyle.
So, that person actually knows nothing about economics at all. You could have just said they were a Democrat, the rest is redundant.
In 2022, the Congressional Budget Office predicts that interest payments on the debt will be 5.7 percent of total spending, more than doubling to 11.6 percent by 2031.
We're all in this together -- right? We owe the interest to *ourselves*, so no problem. Just do the student-loan forgiveness thing on a larger scale.
One way or another, the scales will balance. If not gradually, intentionally by Congress (a possibility I’d give at least a 2% chance of happening), then the largest fiscal collapse in human history in about ten more years (Democrats in charge) to 15 years (Republicans in charge).
Hope you weren’t depending on SS or Mediscare?
Did the ghosts of libertarians past visit all of the reason writers on Christmas? They are actually writing about what most of us have been saying for months.
Definitely a shift in narrative. Yet still nothing about political prisoners, military purity tests, Biden family corruption, Ghislaine Maxwell, etc.
Still nothing on J6 political prisoners OR Ashlii Babbitt murder.
Unfortunately, Ashli Babbitt is never going to be an issue, regardless of any shifts at Reason, because it’s almost a year old and can be ignored.
We can still hope for the political prisoners, since it’s ongoing.
For the political prisoners being covered.
They pride themselves with the empty the prisons takes yet seen completely okay with 4 year sentences for non violent offenses in D.C.
Elizabeth Warren says that one of the real causes of inflation is supermarket chains.
"Washington, D.C. — United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) sent a letter to the CEOs of Kroger, Publix, and Albertsons calling on them to justify rewarding executives and shareholders while raising food costs for American families. Even as grocers blame inflation for high food costs, these companies have raked in record profits and rewarded executives with massive bonuses and stock buybacks. Warren is seeking information on steps these large grocers are taking to protect consumers or whether they are putting profits over consumers in the midst of a public health and economic crisis.
"Warren Calls Out Big Grocery Chains for Putting Company Profits Over Customers"
https://www.warren.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/warren-calls-out-big-grocery-chains-for-putting-company-profits-over-customers
Kroger's net profit margin at the end of July of 2020 2.03%, and at the end of July 2021, it was 0.75%.
Albertson's net profit margin at the end of August 2020 was 1.46%, and at the end of August 2021, it was 1.04%.
If they're putting profits over anything, they aren't generating much of a net profit margin anyway. It isn't that Elizabeth Warren is ignorant and stupid, and it isn't that the people who follow her are liars. No, it's Elizabeth Warren who is the liar, and it's the progressive who believe in her that are ignorant and stupid.

Now do oil companies and corporate profits in general if this is the game you want to play.
Did you even read his post? He's not the one playing this game, communists like you are.
Oil companies just under 7% which is half of many banks or silicon valley or other beloved leftist companies.

I've pointed out to Lord of Strazele that he has gaping holes in his knowledge before--on really fundamental issues like inflation. Back then, it was about the money supply growing faster than the real economy is the overarching cause of inflation. He didn't seem to have learned anything last time, and I doubt he'll learn anything this time either. Just for the record, however . . .
In a commodity business, the quality of the product being sold is mostly undifferentiated. One barrel of Texas West Intermediate crude is just like another. The only way a company can differentiate their product is on price. I'll charge you less than the competition for a barrel so you'll buy mine instead of his, and that's what makes a sale.
Because any time you increase prices--with the demand staying the same--your customers will go to someone selling the same thing for less, the way to maximize profits is to cut costs as low as possible. After all, the difference between revenue and costs is the definition of profit, so if you can't increase your prices without losing your customers, the only way left to maximize profits is to decrease costs.
This is why the profit motive keeps prices as low as they can be--or should be--within a private system. This is why Venezuela, despite having some of the world's largest oil reserves, hasn't been able to pump their OPEC quota for a very long time. Because they nationalized the oil industry, and there is no profit motive, the costs of pumping, storing, distributing, refining, etc. have gone through the roof.
Venezuela can hardly sell what they pump profitably, which is why they always oppose OPEC raising their quotas. They want the price per barrel to be as high as possible, because they can't really pump more profitably. They'd be losing more money on every barrel--and trying to make it up in volume. It works the same way with other commodity products--like they sell at grocery stores.
The quality of one box of Kellogg's cornflakes at Albertson's is the same quality as a box of Kellogg's cornflakes at Walmart, so they compete in price--so viciously--that Albertson's profit margin was only 0.75% (three quarters of one percent) despite more people staying home and not eating out. The competition drives them to keep their costs as low as possible. That is why their profit margin is so low, and that is why the profit margin keeps prices from rising--rather than contributing to inflation.
If you're one of the people who believed in Elizabeth Warren, get some knowledge and decide to think for yourself in the future. You'll be much smarter on your own.
Venezuela also has an especially dirty form of crude that many refined oil producers can't currently handle.
Many refineries on the Gulf coast were designed for heavy Venezuelan crude. That's why Keystone became important, since those refineries could process equally heavy crude from Canada.
Agreed. But export to other regions is difficult.
"I've pointed out to Lord of Strazele that he has gaping holes in his knowledge before..."
Ken, he's a stupid sum-bitch and proud of it.
And he has absolutely no interest in open debate or learning anything. He’s just a Marxist shill, repeating Media Matters talking points.

"...It isn't that Elizabeth Warren is ignorant and stupid, and it isn't that the people who follow her are liars. No, it's Elizabeth Warren who is the liar, and it's the progressive who believe in her that are ignorant and stupid."
Disagreed. There is no reason fauxcahantus can't be stupid AND dishonest. Look at the assholes populating this site: turd, Tony, Mike, sarc, etc.
Warren is a Marxist and within my lifetime, we will force the mainstream to consider enforcement of the Communist Control Act.
Grocery stores have always had nearly nonexistent profit margins. If you ever wondered why they care so much about shrink or theft, your numbers are a prime example. We made $.02 on the dollar in profit. Someone steals $10 worth of merchandise? You have to sell an additional $500 worth of goods to cover the loss.
Execs are rewarded because a pandemic + hyperinflation environment is a terrible time to be in grocery. The fact they're turning any profit is a miracle and worthy of compensation.
"...Execs are rewarded because a pandemic + hyperinflation environment is a terrible time to be in grocery. The fact they're turning any profit is a miracle and worthy of compensation."
Agreed, but further, that compensation is the business of the owners and the execs only, NOT some pile of shit busy-body like Warren.
She's proud of the stupid shit she said, too!
She's promoting it on her own website so people will know she said it.
Our local HyVee announced they were adding instore security to stop thefts.
Is she really not counted among the Progressive Caucus cabal?
As I said the other day, it would be hilarious to watch Warren try to manage a grocery store for a week. I wish some reality show producer could arrange that.
I wish some reality show producer could arrange a show with you locked up in an aviary.

Muh private company.
I want the pro-censorship crew here (Sqrlsy, Shrike, Mike) to explain:
1. How censoring eminent scientists on matters pertaining to their field, is somehow in the interests of Twitter and its shareholders... or humanity for that matter.
2. How this isn't the Democratic administration evading the first amendment by silencing scientific opponents of its narrative using corporatist techniques.
We're already way past the worst case scenario as far as censorship in the 21st century goes.
Just to clarify, the scientist being censored here actually invented the mRNA vaccine technique and similar DNA techniques. He's not just someone from the sidelines taking shots.
Just so we're clear here the guy could still be crazy and wrong even if he had done something useful in the past.
But instead of having a scientific conversation he should just be silenced, right Fifty center?
But he isn't either, you ignorant fuck.
If you'd had bothered to look him up before being retarded, you'd have learned he's currently still in his field and is cited in over 12,000 papers.
This is exactly like when Twitter blocked Oxford University virologists who were discussing a lab leak in Wuhan last year.
Yeah, we should trust social media over everything.
So, a guilty until proven innocent sort of approach.

Schiavocampo says media lies are just honest mistakes and not biased despite then trending all in one direction and all failing the too good to be true test for democrat thought. Decries people calling the media partisan or liars despite all their one sided mistakes.
“I hear this all the time. And here’s what I would love to correct about that misperception: We are human. We make mistakes.” But she added that “most often,” when people point out examples of the media’s lies, “what they’re pointing to is an example of a mistake, not an intentional lie.”
Mistakes are “almost always innocent,” Stelter said. Schiavocampo asserted, “We do not have malicious intent.”

They’re lying about not lying.
I am perpetually baffled as to how CNN has any viewers at all when YouTube has hours of train wrecks to replay.
"OMG! Pizzagate! Muh Qanon!" - t. Sqrlsy
All these guys being charged with pedophilia, but commenting on it is a c0nspiRAcY tHEory.
I also see Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of five of the six charges of sex-trafficking young girls for Jeffrey Epstein, despite the FBI accidently losing most of the evidence.
Sometimes diaries, itineraries, binders with CDs, and external hard drives just go missing. Probably fairies steal them.
Hope she doesn't kill herself.
Oh yeah, I remember when pizzagate was a Cwazy Far Right Conspiracy Theory. I wonder if we'll finally get a glimpse of the lizard people in 2022.
At this point I honestly would be relieved to have space creatures being the source of progshit vileness rather than human beings.
Have they considered raiding more conservative media residences to find the evidence one they did with Bidens daughter's diary?
That evidence wasn’t lost to protect Maxwell, it was lost to protect whoever was involved up the ladder.
Let’s hope she kept copies of the really damning stuff. She has threatened to release her own evidence if convicted. If she’s really smart, she has multiple proxies that will also release a bunch of dirt should she ‘commit suicide’. Which I don’t think the public would begin to buy after Epstein’s bizarre death.
There are probably a lot of very uncomfortable DC power players out there right now. I hope she does dump a bunch of evidence, and ruins a lot of these people.
“Which I don’t think the public would begin to buy after Epstein’s bizarre death.”
Do they really care if the public buys it at this point? Sounds like another good opportunity for them to flaunt that rules don’t apply to them anymore.
Pluggo is sad.

I agree. And get better readers. If dailyKos and The Atlantic can figure out how to get high quality elite readers, anyone can.
Funny, I went to Universal recently and the Harry Potter sections of their parks were packed to the brim.
It's almost like 99% of people could not care less about crackpot academic gender theory.
I've also never met a person IRL who knew what a TERF was. Good on Rowling for sticking it to the man.
I guess this is the morning linx, right? Anyhow, we have a real cause for a gofundme effort:
"2 U.S. House members rack up over $100,000 in fines over mask mandate"
[...]
"WASHINGTON — During a recent marathon session in the House, two Republican lawmakers from Georgia sat in full view of television cameras. Neither was wearing a mask.
It was the latest act of defiance by the pair, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Andrew Clyde, against a rule requiring legislators to wear masks on the House floor. Most Republican lawmakers, however grudgingly, have complied with the mandate, which can carry fines that quickly add up to hefty amounts. But Greene and Clyde have repeatedly, and proudly, flouted it..."

Which asshole's gonna pop up with some BOTH SIDES!!!!! bullshit now?
It's nice to see that two members of Congress have the courage to challenge Nancy Pelosi's extremely partisan, nonscientific, totalitarian, unsociable and counterproductive mask mandate.
Everyone who imposed a mask mandate should be required to wear a mask everyday indoors and outdoors the rest of their lives (so nobody will ever have to see their face).
Muslim leaders have required women to wear masks in public for centuries.
That type of punishment has proven effective (and would fair since that's the same punishment they imposed on others).
It was the latest act of defiance by the pair, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Andrew Clyde, against a rule requiring legislators to wear masks on the House floor.

All you need to know about this rule is that it only applies when cameras are on.
What is amazing here is that the Trumpanzees all cry foul when you compare current GDP to the awful 2020 pandemic GDP. NO FAIR! they all weep and moan. NO FAIR.
But when 2020 numbers are used for this fictitious "inflation" price bump they all start whacking their meat like the zoo apes they are.
HAPERINFLATION! they yell.
Amazing how duplicitous and hypocritical Peanuts are. And cherry pickers for only the 2020 data that drives their agenda.
No. We laugh at you when we point out inflation is higher than the gdp growth and how 5 million jobs are still missing. With the decline being from government actions.
Last year you blamed trump for the actions of blue states. Which makes it even more hilarious as you make constant excuses for Biden.
Piss off, you liar.
Trump 4 year GDP growth of 1.6% you say NO FAIR! PANDEMIC!
Biden 6.8% year over year inflation (against 2020 pandemic artificially low prices)? HAPERINFLATION!!! SEE? BIDEN'S FAULT!
Hyperinflation has a definition: a monthly inflation rate of 50% or more.
Anyone calling the current state of affairs "hyperinflation" is being hyperbolic or is a liar.
That's in defense of the dictionary, not Biden.
Nobody has called the current inflation "hyperinflation", you dimwitted troll, although that is a concern for the future.
That's just Buttplug indulging in hyperbole because he has no counter arguments and his only narrative is floundering.
Sarc is down to so many friends here though. He can't be picky or choosey
That’s why he invented multiple Sarc socks. So he can claim it wasn’t really him being a lying moronic asshole and he’s really a swell guy.
Very Anthony Weiner of him.
Look, people are panicky about this small price bump. The media feeds it - especially conservative crap.
Small? Lol.
Pluggo desires small. So usually sees small.
Small, and wriggling.

Wages are up 3%!!!! Praise biden. Ignore 7% inflation!!! Gdp is up 5%!!! Praise biden. Ignore 7% inflation!!! Trump caused the pandemic, not democrats and their lockdowns. Its not bidens fault for the pandemic, ignore supply chain!!!
Thats the summary of your arguments this year dummy.
You can't dump that much money into the economy without prices rising. It's basic math. Raise the supply of money relative to what the money can buy, and the value of the money will drop.
It's not a partisan issue. Conservative are wrong about a great many things, but they're right on this. I'm not sure why anyone would disagree except for partisan reasons.
They’re disagreeing for partisan reasons.
Don’t recall anyone saying “hyperinflation”. Just the dildo saying “HAPERINFLATION” to mock his own strawman.
Which is why he’s a joke, besides being a pedo.

As Nick notes one solution is raise taxes or cut spending. I would suggest both are needed. Problem here is that no politician is going to run on this. The next few election cycles will be "more government services" vs "cut taxes". None of that will help.
Again, I suggest we need moderates willing to work together and compromise.
Cutting spending means government employees and/or contractors losing jobs, and/or people losing transfer payments.
It's political suicide.
I'd settle for someone who would freeze government spending for a few years while not replacing people who retire. I've gone for years without a raise as my employer restructured. Government needs to do the same.
Need me to point out to you yet again that a candidate actually did one asking to cut spending? Or do you continue to bury your head in the said because you fell for the media narrative on said candidate?
Did won one*
The problem with funding and hiring freezes is that it rewards the unnecessary and penalizes the necessary. Useless programs continue and use up funding. Critical programs don't get extra funding they need.
The fact is that cutting spending need to be an active process, it is hard work and we have a lazy Congress.
BTW - The bipartisan defense authorization just signed was $25 billion over what President Biden requested. So, our Congress can't even limit their spending to what was asked for.
Psst. Trump did that.
"Even worse, Biden and crew are delusionally pronouncing that we can tame inflation by pumping massive amounts of government money into the economy—a course of action that will almost certainly make everything more expensive."
But progressives, and other statist idiots, demand delusions as the prime method of governance. They have a child-like faith in authority, and believe that if they policy hard enough any wishes can come true.
Ever try putting out a fire with gasoline? Biden thinks that might work.
If you cause enough of an explosion in a confined space with it, the resulting vacuum will snuff the flames.
Or we could use water.
As Milton Friedman pointed out, inflation is also a hidden tax because it puts people into higher tax brackets without giving them more purchasing power.
US Dollar - 9% stronger since Biden's inauguration.
Gold down $130/oz since Biden's inauguration.
Strange how the two top indicators for this fictitious "inflation" don't show any.
Tell that to my grocery bill.

Sarc got upset about groceries right around the time liquor prices rose.

I remember how the poor spend all their money to buy gold houses and eat gold coins. OSF talking points are dumber than dailyKos ones.
And turd is yet MORE stupid.
Gold is not a consistent or reliable indicator or predictor of inflation. Your point about the US dollar is valid - in truly painful inflation cycles, the value of a currency drops. In cases of hyperinflation - the currency is basically rejected. We're experiencing some inflation now - it hurts a little bit - but a lot of it is due to supply chain issues. Not that some of the price increases won't stick. Wages are not going back down - and many states, cities, and counties voted in higher minimum wages anyway. All the COVID "relief" money doled out is having some inflationary effect too - but seems like that should dissipate in the next several months. One thing to watch is private sector loan growth. So far, it's not showing a lot of "heat". Much of the growth in the money supply can come from the banking industry - loans create deposits.
Stupid Kiddie Raper fails to understand currency fluctuations are in part relative to how shitty other currencies are too. Or to quote Jack Nicholson in ‘The Two Jakes’, “In this town, I’m the leper with the most fingers.”
How Biden's Agenda Is Causing Inflation
Too Many (Government) Dollars Are Chasing Too Few Goods.
The End
Wait, there's an article and a video accompanying that statement? What is this, Economics For Retarded Chimpanzees? Of course confusing money with wealth and pumping out dollars without any corresponding production of value is going to lead to inflation. Hell, I figured that shit out around the second grade when my sister wanted to trade me a pack of Necco Wafers for a Snickers bar out of our trick-or-treat bags. Nobody wants Necco Wafers, Cathy. They have no value and creating more of them doesn't increase their value.
pumping out dollars without any corresponding production of value is going to lead to inflation.
It is not just government loans that do that. Refinancing mortgages with some element of cash-out also does that. Course that's the inflation we like to benefit from ourselves.
This is your most pathetic bowf sidez attempt yet.
For months, the GOP-Fox News axis forecast the bluest of Christmases.
House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy joined 159 House Republicans in a letter to President Biden saying his policies “will certainly ensure that this Christmas will not be merry” because of a “supply chain crisis” and inflation.
Chairman Jim Banks of the House Republican Study Committee, citing the same reasons, wrote to colleagues: “Our job as Republicans is to explain to the American people what the grinches at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave did to ruin Christmas.”
Fox News told viewers that “Christmas presents for your kids may not arrive on time or even at all” (Sean Hannity), that the president is “the Biden Who Stole Christmas” (Laura Ingraham) and that Biden is “facing a nightmare come Christmastime,” when “gifts are going to cost a fortune, and that’s even if you’re lucky enough to snag anything” (Jesse Watters).
Breitbart News trumpeted a Trump campaign adviser’s forecast for “a frankly miserable Christmas … the Biden Blue Christmas.” Newsmax foresaw “Biden’s Blue Christmas: Shortages, Frustration, Economic Malaise.”
And then — a Christmas miracle!
Holiday retail sales were the highest ever, jumping 8.5 percent from last year and nearly 11 percent from pre-pandemic 2019, as “consumers splurged throughout the season,” Mastercard reported Sunday.
Stores were stocked. Package deliveries were overwhelmingly on time. Inflation, though a serious concern, clearly didn’t deter shoppers, and holiday motorists found gas prices 14 cents a gallon lower than in November.
So, did GOP leaders and Fox News acknowledge they fearmongered in error? My closed-caption search might have missed something, but I found only three passing mentions on Fox News of the holiday sales triumph, amid a new round of doomsaying (“it looks like things are about to get a lot worse in the new year”). Republican Twitter guns were similarly silent.
After a year of such deception, the United States is experiencing the worst economy we never had. The economy is going gangbusters — historically so. Yet Americans, particularly Republicans, express a gloom not matched by economic reality — or by their own spending behaviors. Polls and consumer-confidence indices show an economic pessimism as grim as when millions lost jobs in the pandemic shutdown. This is, in large part, because disinformation has prevailed. Partisanship long colored economic views, but now Republicans, in addition to occupying a parallel political reality, are expanding an alternate economic universe.
“America’s economy improved more in Joe Biden’s first 12 months than any president during the past 50 years notwithstanding the contrary media narrative contributing to dour public opinion,” Matthew Winkler, former editor in chief of Bloomberg News, wrote last week. Among the gains: The economy expanded an estimated 5.5 percent in 2021 (fourth-quarter growth dramatically outpaced Europe and even China). Unemployment plunged to 4.2 percent. Record-setting U.S. stock markets (the S&P 500 is up nearly 30 percent) outperformed the world. Productivity jumped. Corporate profits are the largest since 1950 and corporate debt the lowest in 30. Consumer credit expanded. Confidence among CEOs is the highest in 20 years. The American Rescue Plan cut child poverty in half.
“The force of the American expansion is also inducing overseas companies to invest in the U.S., betting that the growth is still accelerating and will outpace other major economies,” added the Wall Street Journal.
The fly in the ointment is inflation estimated at 5.6 percent for the year — the highest in 40 years — which is suppressing disposable income. This causes real pain for consumers, particularly low-income Americans buying groceries and gas and anybody buying a car. But studies show that, among the lowest earners, wage gains outpaced inflation. Also, inflation is less than half what it was 40 years ago, and, unlike then, today’s bond yields signal investors don’t expect inflation to worsen. Forty years ago, stagnant growth combined with inflation to cause “stagflation.” Now the economy is roaring.
Yet a Gallup poll out last week found that “Americans’ confidence in the economy has dropped to where it was in April 2020, when nationwide shutdowns brought on by the covid-19 pandemic plunged the nation into a recession.”
The reason is clear. As The Post’s Philip Bump explained, Republicans in April 2020 were evenly split on whether the economy was in excellent/good condition or fair/poor. Now, despite dramatic improvements, 91 percent of Republicans say the economy is in fair/poor condition. (The Democratic shift, in the opposite direction, was smaller.)
This happened — surprise! — during Fox News’s hysterical coverage of inflation, gas prices and supply chain problems. It invoked inflation roughly twice as often as CNN and MSNBC. Now, as Bump reported, three-quarters of Republicans say prices are the most important measure of the economy’s health (only one-quarter did a year ago), eclipsing unemployment, personal finances and the stock market.
In post-truth America, the economy is just another target for fakery.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/
Lol. Man the lies you guys tell yourselves to maintain belief. It truly is a religion.

Arbitrary price rises are not inflation.
Price rises due to goods shortages are NOT INFLATION.

It appears increasingly clear that covid vaccines (including booster shots) aren't very effective for preventing the spread of omicron, as more new cases of covid have been reported in the US (and in many cities and states) during the past several days since the pandemic began 21 months ago.
It also appears that Americans have been justifiably losing confidence in covid vaccines (including booster shots), as the daily number of people vaccinated has been declining since the first week of December, when the left wing news media and their Democrat political allies began scaring us 24/7 with fear mongering stories about omicron.
The good news for Americans (but not for fear mongering left wing media propagandists, Democrats and other lovers of lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccine mandates) is that omicron appears to have a significantly lower (i.e. 50%) hospitalization and death rate than the delta variant, and has a far lower (i.e. 10%) hospitalization and death rate than the original covid variant.
Omicron appears to be less harmful than influenza, which never generated lockdowns, mask mandates or vaccine mandates.
Based upon the evolution of viruses, the next variant of covid will likely be less harmful than a common cold.
Based upon the evolution of viruses, the next variant of covid will likely be less harmful than a common cold.
And it will still require mandatory vaccinations, masking, distancing, in-home schooling, lockdowns and whatever else our rulers decide to impose on us.
If only you hadn't been butressing those actions the last few months attacking conservatives against mandates while screaming if masks even help 1% it was worth it. Or saying how forced quarantine camps aren't that bad. Lol.
they weren't effective for preventing the spread of any version of the chinavirus
"...Based upon the evolution of viruses, the next variant of covid will likely be less harmful than a common cold."
Which will affect tin-pot-dictator wannabes' mandates not at all.
The claim that viruses natural evolve to became less dangerous has no basis in reality. Spanish flu became more dangerous. Polio became more dangerous. Small pox never became less dangerous.
Which ignores my point entirely, asshole.
What?
Though we may occasionally get more harmful variants, most successful communicable disease evolves to be more virulent and less lethal.
Your claim that these diseases became more deadly flies in the face of recorded mortality rates.
Uhm you've never taken a microbiology course it would appear.
" is that omicron appears to have a significantly lower (i.e. 50%) hospitalization and death rate than the delta variant, and has a far lower (i.e. 10%) hospitalization and death rate than the original covid variant" you can't be lower than the much higher number and much lower than the much smaller number. Arithmetic is apparently hard for you.
Half a second to think that perhaps he meant 50% OF Delta's mortality rate and 10% OF the first wave of WuFlu's rate also was too difficult?
Based upon his previous comment about pathogens never evolving into less dangerous forms, and other posts of his today, it appears tying his shoes is to difficult for him.

Whether that stance on censorship is right or wrong, they supposedly (very supposedly) believe in the power of free market competition. This outdated notion that money is printed has become a real mark of stupid currentsy. Money is created by creating new loans - and destroyed by paying them off. It becomes inflation when that loan does nothing productive re future goods/services. It does not really matter one whit whether the new loan is to government or to Joe Homeowner or to CFO Stock Buyback.
Worse - there is a massive real estate bubble in China that has already started popping and unless you understand that that effects money (via lending), then you cannot possibly understand when supply chain stuff emanating (mostly) from China is going to reverse (and fast) the really really stupid 'measure' of inflation called CPI price baskets.

It's worse than that. Before May 2020 the M2 included savings deposits & money market accounts but after that they don't. It's pretty easy to spot on the chart, it's where the hockey stick breaks and the slope comes down somewhat. It's a fine bit of hand waving to make it look better than it actually is.
As Milton Friedman would point out to the incompetent screwup that wrote this, government fiscal policies have zero impact on inflation. It is the Fed's monetary policies that control inflation, a fed entirely controlled by Trump's appointees. And Trump spent his entire presidency complaining that the Fed wasn;t printing enough money something Biden has never done. Also inflation was 12.4% in 1974 and just under 10% in 1975. Today we have a momentary blip of 6% after being consistently too low for 14 years.

"Central bankers expect inflation will fall to 2.6 percent by the end of 2022 and 2.3 percent by the end of 2023, according to projections released at the Fed’s policy meeting in December. Powell said forecasters hold the broad expectation that inflation will come down “significantly toward the back end of next year.”...
“Between wages and shelter, we haven’t seen the worst of inflation, even if energy prices moderate, even if supply chain issues start to resolve themselves,” said Michael Strain, director of economic policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute. “I still think we’re in for several months where prices are growing faster than what we’ve seen.”
Powell has long said ending the pandemic is the most surefire way to stabilize the economy; his remarks came just at the start of a coronavirus surge fueled by the omicron variant. In recent weeks, a wave of coronavirus cases has triggered closures at restaurants, entertainment venues, retailers, schools and offices, in part due to outbreaks and possible exposures among staff...."

Thanks for that report from July Doofus, before the vaccines proved effective against the Delta variant, the GOP decided vaccines and masks were another cultural war front instead of sound public health policy. From your link:
"They said people need to wear masks and take other steps to prevent spread until almost everyone in a population has been vaccinated.
Their findings, published in Nature Scientific Reports, support an unpopular decision by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to advise even fully vaccinated people to start wearing masks again in areas of sustained or high transmission.
"We found that a fast rate of vaccination decreases the probability of emergence of a resistant strain," the team wrote..."
They based it off mathematical modeling, not actual reality. Read a bit.
Also, first fucking paragraph dipshit. Vaccines do not prevent transmission.
Dunno which lying pile of muted lefty shit you are, but fuck off, slaver.
"printing money causes inflation"- Captain Obvious
Damn Reason. A whole article dedicated to "putting a light" on some facts that a child could see. After reading that insightful nonsense I feel a bit less informed on the subject.
The Phucko Knows
Clearly Nick Gillespie never studied Milton Friedman. Unsurprising. Economics has long since taken a back seat to politics at Reason. The causes of inflation are clear. But Reason, as the champion of upper middle class trust fund kids, refuses to see.
I refuse to believe there is no one at Reason who understand economics. They simply are incapable of anything but slavish devotion to their own class special interests.
You.
Are.
Full.
Of.
Shit.
I would comment on article nits such as Biden didn't actually say inflation only freaks out rich people, or that Friedman's comment on printing money was misconstrued as a comment on inflation, but that would all be useless among this comment group of crude and insulting know-it-alls.
I might comment on your post if it had a point other than unwarranted self-promotion.
Did someone say mean things to you, pookums? Mommy still loves you.
While Trump's agenda massively inflated stocks last year, Nick Gillespie was happy. Now all of a sudden he's seeing inflation because it seeped out of stocks into consumer goods.
"While Trump's agenda massively inflated stocks last year,.."
What agenda was that, oh, TDS-addled idiot?
And you think it 'seeped out'? Did Koz feature that bullshit?
While it’s true that inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods, you have to consider both demand (dollars) and supply (goods)!
A significant cause of inflation is the executive orders that have restricted fuel/energy production. If it costs 2x for the gas In trucks to deliver goods, the cost of EVERYTHING is going to go up.
As the supply of fuel goes down, the price goes up. Econ 101 stuff. Supply and demand curve.
Printing lots of money is not a problem if there are plenty of goods (supply!) to be bought. In a sense, it’s a pressure on production, to make it less so “too few goods,” which is a good thing, right?
What we need are free markets, which means not printing money or controlling the value of currency or interference in the price and production of goods and services.
And free minds!
"...What we need are free markets, which means not printing money or controlling the value of currency or interference in the price and production of goods and services."
We had a POTUS who was about as good as we were gonna find in this regard, but the swamp-dwellers (scared shitless that they might have to work for a living) spend four years lying about him and TDS-addled assholes did what they could to make sure we got droolin' Joe.
So WE got what THEY deserve, and most of the TDS-addled pieces of shit are still trying to justify their idiocy with BOTH SIDES!!!! claims.
Fuck 'em with all four legs of droolin' Joe's walker.
Yellen is such a disappointing political hack. She knows better than most others what's going on.
UC was quite happy when she left; managed to run the university into serious financial trouble.
Can’t even run a school……….
Leftists always fail upwards.
That one chart of the money supply is all you really need to understand why inflation is so high. Print 40% more money, get 40% inflation.
Think that 5.8% number is real? It's about as real as the pink unicorns that the BLS uses to make up the inflation numbers. If we used the same basket of goods that was used until 1982, and didn't use the "tools" that the BLS uses to adjust the numbers to something they like, the inflation rate this year would have been 15%. Their main tool to discount real inflation is the "equivalent cost of rent", which replaced real rent and home ownership costs with a subjective, imaginary "equivalent" based on a survey asking current homeowners how much rent they would pay if they rented their home instead of owning it. A highly effective secondary tool is consistently over-valuing how much a minor tech improvement has impacted the "value" of an item. A new arrangement of buttons on a washing machine whose price has increased 25% may mean that it *really* decreased in price by 10%..... The cost of gas increased from $1.69 to $3.29, almost 100%? Not really. Biden re-joining the Paris Climate Accord and "helping" reduce climate change means it *really* only increased by less than half of that amount.... Over time, those subjective numbers really add up. Look at the individual items. Supposedly, a heavy-duty pickup truck has increased in price by 43% since 1973. My uncle bought a brand new 1973 Ford F-350 for $3,500. Could he get a new one today for $5,000? A friend bought a new F-350 with all the bells and whistles in 2019 for $68,000... Those tech adjustments really add up over time, even for stuff where tech improvements aren't all that critical to an item's usefulness.
You can also thank big government for all those "necessary" safety features and emission/efficiency mandates.
Just how much would that new pick up cost without the ten airbags, avoidance technology and the entire lot of extra equipment now mandated by those wonderful intellects in Washington?
IF Senator Pocahontas was paid what she is actually worth, her salary would be approximately 10 cents /hour.
The Dems want inflation. They want total destruction of America so they can "build back better" only it will be build back broken. Liberals are incapable of reason and logic.
The Fed is responsible for inflation. The problem is that not many Americans know enough about economics and the Federal Reserve so they carry on with all the misconceptions about inflation, not realizing the true culprits.
Biden is destroying this nation. Always remember Reason supported Biden. Reason supported all this chaos and destruction.
I just don't see how they can pretend they didn't take a massive turn about a week or two ago. Was it actual shame or just an industry wide cover to push change in the administration as you posit.
Was it actual shame or just an industry wide cover to push change in the administration as you posit.
Ask yourself: have they said anything, at all, in the last four or so years that contradicted the Party's narrative? And then also consider the concurrent pivot in the rest of the Party. Seems suspicious, like when every News anchor and every headline says the exact same line with the exact same wording.
You forgot "just because they recieve billions in federal contracts and are under threat of regulations, they are completely private. "
He was the most popular candidate of all time. And a super moderate. And a return to normalcy. Ignore his campaign platform and his few campaign statements.
It would be worse for Reason to claim an ignorance of how anyone could have known in my opinion. A mea culpa would be so much better for them.
We have always been at war with Eastasia.
They assumed that, while Biden has clearly been a dolt his entire life, he would at least surround himself with competent people and things wouldn’t get that bad.
They failed to account for the fact that the long-term inner circle of an incompetent buffoon will be made up of other incompetent buffoons, as the people of ability jump ship. So we get Anthony Blinken’ in shock as the Chinese dress him down, and nobody to tell sleepy Joe that the Taliban ain’t gonna just sit there and let everyone leave.
Beavis and Butt-head still might be smarter than progressives. At least they attempted selling, i.e. free trade. In the progressive version of that cartoon, the student council would nationalize the candy bars and distribute them according to their political welfare agenda.
Yes, that works for a week or a day. Then the money runs out, and it all crashes worse than before.
The answer is to make the country favorable to business and even more favorable to workers, creating more jobs - like Trump did before angry Democrats like Fauci arranged for the bio weapon to be released.
Like the mob "just asks".
“Seems suspicious, like when every News anchor and every headline says the exact same line with the exact same wording.”
So, every day?
Oh bullshit.
After Republicans win in 2022/2024 they will act like imbeciles again. Then Democrats will win in 2026-2028 and do nothing again.
Just like it's been since the 1994 Gingrich Revolution which didn't do shit.
2000 the GOP had a "permanent majority". By 2008 Democrats won everything.
They all suck.
An apology would give them some credence to being an intellectual and would allow them to extend their belief they are neutral arbiters. Instead if admitting what they did the last few years.
I should say admitting through continued action instead.
With the commentariat. But they didn’t make this shift because of us. They would have done that long ago if that was the case.
I find it hard to believe, after what’s been published here over the last five years, that they really care about being perceived as intellectuals and neutral arbiters among actual libertarian consumers.
And he retreats like all idiots into a golden mean fallacy when his ignorance is exposed.
turd lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a pathological liar and a TDS-addled piece of shit, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.
Because right now it is the Democrats turn to suck since they have Congress and the White House.
And they are succeeding.
To suck that is.
The worst was the GOP in 2008. They got crushed.
But people hated Democrats again by 2012.
The polls show the GOP winning.
for now anyway

Exactly.
Coming soon: The Libertarian Case for Kamala Harris.
The agenda is to lie to make Biden look bad. The agenda at forbes ahs always been to lie to make democrats look bad.
It isn't necessary to lie. Democrats look bad.
