Congressman Paul is an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, gun control and the war on drugs. As a congressman, Paul consistently voted against tax increases and unbalanced budgets and has called for the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service.
Paul placed 3rd in the 1988 presidential race as the Libertarian Party nominee.
