Erika Sanzi: What Are Schools Really Teaching?
Director of Outreach for Parents Defending Education, Erika Sanzi, discusses woke indoctrination in education.
What are the schools really teaching our kids?
It's back-to-school season, which means the curriculum wars are back on the agenda. The right has accused activist infiltrators of "indoctrinating" the next generation with woke struggle sessions, confusing kids about their gender and sexuality, and turning K-12 campuses into war zones by replacing discipline with pseudoscientific therapy. The left has accused the right of authoritarian book bans, whitewashing history, and discriminating against LGBT students and teachers. What's actually happening on campus?
Joining us to talk about it today is Erika Sanzi. She's the Director of Outreach for Parents Defending Education, a nonprofit with a stated mission of fighting "indoctrination in schools" and "promoting the restoration of a healthy, nonpolitical education for our kids." She's also serves on the board of the Boys Initiative and is a mother of three teenage sons.
Parents Defending Education falls clearly on the side of believing that schools are in danger of becoming full-on "indoctrination centers." In fact, their website features an "IndoctriNation Map" which lists examples from around the country. The conversation opens by defining the difference between indoctrination and education.

"...And your journey towards the dark side will be complete!"
I guess I'm glad there's ONE person at Reason who hasn't agreed to disagree.
The left has accused the right of authoritarian book bans
'The left'? I fully expect to see ENB's ear in a bandage at her next public appearance. Yeow!
Eliminate all taxpayer funds used towards public education.
Don't forget to eliminate all government loan programs.
But then how would team D later forgive them in an effort to
buy votesfoster EqUaLiTy?Trying to think of something I could care less about that we should have government assisted loans to purchase, just to help make it more expensive.
Don’t forget to eliminate all Marxists.
Not sure what they do teach. I can say that they do not teach math, science, reading, writing, history or civics.
Binary thinking.
They teach them to be obedient democrat drones, like you and Jeffy.
Those are all dominant white culture oppressive constructs. So, no.
They teach some real lessons at the School of Hard Knocks, I tell you hwhat.
Having your dick cut off because you think you are a girl and then realizing 5 years later you are not a girl. That is a lasting lesson being taught.
> Parents Defending Education falls clearly on the side of believing that schools are in danger of becoming full-on “indoctrination centers.”
Uhm. Government schools have been full-on indoctrination centers since the very inception of the public school model. The only thing that has varied is with what government school inmates are being indoctrinated. The 80’s and 90’s, for the most part, public schools seemed most inclined to indoctrinate their inmates to not question, and blindly respect and follow, authority. The success of that indoctrination was on full display in 2020.
The government school system has never been about educating children. It has been about turning out compliant factory, retail, and service industry drones. If Parents Defending Education truly want to defend education, they should be removing their children from the government school system and seeking alternatives that actually educate their children.
Meanwhile, while Reason has been talking about Haitian cats bleeding out in parking lots because of prohibitions due to the Jones Act which was reported on by Priscilla Villareal…
Summary: The state departments shenanigans surrounding censorship via the Global Disinfo Index, on which Reason enjoys a very high ranking.
LOL (paraphrasing): "You kinda expect to get evasiveness and non-information from the Department of Defense or the CIA but this is an unusual amount of disinformation from The State Department about how they spent $100M of taxpayer money."
Reason: Well if they don't have membership cards or elect a board they must be more of an idea like Free Speech than an actual organization that something can be done about.
my daughter (6th grade) told me the other day she was learning about the constitution in school and i said "Oh geez i can only imagine what those communists are telling you about it"..but then didn't follow up
maybe tonight if watching the jets doesn't anger me enough, i'll ask her what their spin is on the 2nd amendment. fully expect some "Arming the national guard" BS
They have already moved on to teaching why the 1st has limits.
Of course the left is dedicated to indoctrinating kids. Most of them have decided not to procreate, so the Democrats need more recruits.
"What Are Schools Really Teaching?"
The usual failed Marxist bullshit.
Next question.
Students [Na]tional So[zi]alist responsibilities/contracts?
As once directly quoted from the mass of ?teachers?
