How do Democrats define "freedom"? Just asking questions. 

It's Democratic National Convention week, so we wanted to talk about what's been unfolding there so far: the rhetoric, the thematic choices, and what it all reveals about the Democrats' 2024 agenda. How should we state-power skeptics and liberty appreciators view that agenda?

We invited Jane Coaston to discuss all that with us this week. She's a contributing opinion writer at The New York Times and a former politics reporter at Vox, and she exhibits self-described "libertarian tendencies."

Overall freedom in the 50 states

I just looked at this index and nearly shot my drink out of my nose. It uses impossibly retarded metrics to define "personal freedom".

The incarceration and arrests category includes incarceration rates, non-drug crime arrests, and drug enforcement.

The marriage category includes the ability for couples to enter into private contracts, both civil unions or marriage.(?!!)

This category includes variables that relate to individual actions that harm no one. (California ranked... hang on, I'm trying to not laugh... #1 in this area of freedom.)

"What Is 'Freedom' to Democrats?"

The freedom to continue inflation, raise taxes, allow another ten million illegals across our borders, arrest anyone who demonstrates against the democrats' policies, butcher the unborn, force transgender beliefs on children and everyone else and to make sure the press agrees with all their failures.

A lot of federal grants for surveillance equipment, license plate readers has been allotted through the Democratic infrastructure spending bills. A desire to build a interconnected national mass surveillance database to track American’s movements over long periods of time; this seems more like the CCP’s definition of ‘freedom’.
