The Media's Censorial Freakout Over Joe Rogan
Plus, Supreme Court nominations and affirmative action in schools

This Monday The Reason Roundtable's Matt Welch, Katherine Mangu-Ward, Peter Suderman, and Nick Gillespie gather together to discuss the upcoming Supreme Court appointment, Neil Young leaving Spotify, and why they all live in libertarian-unfriendly cities.
Discussed in the show:
2:06: Supreme Court and identity politics.
17:47: Neil Young's ultimatum with Spotify.
41:45: Weekly listener question: I'm a pretty radical libertarian; living in NY/DC/California is my personal nightmare. Why do you guys live there? Are there important journalism reasons? How do you feel about the idea of "voting with your feet?" Extra bonus points if Suderman can answer without using the phrase "cocktail bar."
52:43: Media recommendations for the week. (And click here for all of the Roundtable's media recommendations, ever.)

Look at the ratings; he's killing them. Narrative aside, that's really why they hate him.
Pfizer isn't paying them to only give daily homilies, they expect them to burn heretics too.
Rogan's lineup of Alt.Covid gonzos pales in comparison to his embrace of Jordan Peterson as his climate science advisor. Forget climate denial- Peterson struck a blow for outright nihilism by declaring:
"There is no such thing as climate"
and going on to defend that thesis at length .
It was bad enough to make Naomi Klein and Leonardo Di Caprio look good.

I’ll bet you a dollar you didn’t actually listen to it.
You know you’re allowed to actually listen directly to it, instead of getting the summary from your left wing echo chamber, right?
Also, Peterson isn’t his advisor in any way, he was a guest on his show. Something else you’d know if you actually listened.
You Lose.
Please be an honest fellow, and remit to Mnestheus@paypal.com
How the fuck does he lose, retard?
We lost when your mommy didn't have you aborted, asshole.
Make that two dollars- Jordan is a regular on the Joe Show:
https://news.knowyourmeme.com/news/jordan-petersons-latest-appearance-on-joe-rogans-podcast-is-equally-liked-and-hated-sparking-heated-debates-online
There's a lot of people who have been on Rogan far, far more than Peterson. This is Peterson's second or third appearance. There's people who've been on the podcast 15-20 times.
"his embrace of Jordan Peterson as his climate science advisor"
Pay him his fucking dollar, Shrike, because if you'd actually watched it you would have known Rogan was arguing with Peterson about it.
See also the reply below addresses the rest of your bullshit.
And finally quit sockpuppeting FFS. You're not tricking anyone.
Continuing to link to opinion pieces about his show isn’t convincing evidence that you actually listened to his show.
Your statement regarding the conversation about climate change is convincing evidence you didn’t.
"Peterson struck a blow for outright nihilism by declaring:
"There is no such thing as climate"
and going on to defend that thesis at length"
If you actually watched it instead of getting easily digestible cherry-picked snippets from Young Turks and CNN, you would've known that Peterson was saying climate is too big and complex to be just one thing and has to be viewed as billions of factors and events.
You know how I know? I watched that podcast the day it aired.
That's why I can confidently state that your idiotic take is complete horseshit.
Next time maybe actually watch an exchange first so you know what the fuck you're talking about, and you won't come off as a complete fucking idiot.
^
I thought he did a pretty good job defending that thesis. The idea that you are going to "fix" something as all encompassing as the climate without causing all kinds of other problems (and particularly exacerbating the problems faced by the poorest people in the world) is fairly absurd.
I don't see how you could call it "nihilism" if you listened to what he said.
And Peterson is pretty much the farthest thing from a nihilist that one could possibly be. His entire philosophy is based on finding meaning.
If Rogan were a woke, virtue signaling yahoo, giving softball interviews to Anthony Fauci and former President Barack Obama, they wouldn't hate him. They hate him because he's willing to carry messages which don't follow the astonishingly uniform views of... pretty much all of journalism AND killing them while doing it.
What's amazing about the entertainment industrial complex (which includes Journalists) is they have the answers to their problems right in front of them. Literally... right in front of them. But instead of availing themselves of the lesson, they just dig in harder and demand the lessons be removed.
Because they are evil totalitarians.
How long are we going to keep pretending like leftists aren't a mortal threat growing ever more imminent?
Rogan did have that one CNN idiot on, and promptly skewered him with logical questions. Team Apocalypse won't go back on the show because they can't answer the questions Rogan and everybody else have.
Yeah, and that CNN idiot went back on CNN and then doubled down on the original lie.
That was especially slimy. He was essentially forced to agree with Rogan while in front of his face, then doubled down once he was back in his own studio.
"If Rogan were a woke, virtue signaling yahoo, "
It would be an improvement- this overpaid yokel is even worse than Tuck when it comes to transmitting vice at the expense of conservative virtue.
Piss off, Shrike. You already made it obvious above that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, and are just regurgitating ActBlue talking-points.
Too bad nobody told him Rogan supported Bernie Sanders. He might not embarrass himself if they had. Well, he’d probably still embarrass himself, but not about this.
They hate any independence. Thinking for yourself, acting on your own behalf, it's all scary evil to them. Look at their justifications for burning, looting, murdering: it's all spouting some woke bullshit they copied from facebook or twitter, nothing original.
Listening to Joe Rogan isn't the most independent way of living, but it's different enough that it scares them, freaks them out.
Who knew that if you tell someone that they shouldn't or can't watch or listen to someone that people will want to listen more? Oh... parents. That's who.
Speaking of SC nominations, whoever is nominated, she will forever be 'just a diversity hire', regardless of any actual qualifications. Sad.
Yeah, when you say you’re only going to appoint someone of a certain race/gender, that’s how it goes. Maybe he will appoint Kamala, not like she’s got much else going on.
Maybe he could appoint Janice rogers brown? Oh wait…
Tulsi Gabbard's mentioned tweet
Her 'mentioned tweet' is beyond excellent.
Tulsi 2024.
Would.
Inflation, public schools, free speech--are progressives on the right side of any issue?!
The parts that aren't authoritarian are openly socialist. I see no redeeming qualities.
Back in 2004 and 2008, Reason used to send staff to the Democratic convention on camera and ask them, "Why should a libertarian vote for the Democrats?"
I can't think of a single reason why a libertarian should vote for a Democrat in 2022. Not one. They're even the biggest threat to free speech--what they can't cancel, they censor. It'll get worse on the 21st of January, when Trump social launches.
There's no way the progressives will let Trump get away with free speech--just because he owns the platform. The progressives will get just as bad this spring over free speech as they were on education back when Joe Biden was siccing the FBI's counter terrorism division on parents for opposing their local school boards.
Maybe the progressives will try to make up for their anti-free speech stance by launching a war on gun ownership! I think the progressives may have achieved absolute indefensibleness.
They're for regulated, taxed and legalized weed! And Qualified Impunities will be turned over (except for Teachers!) once we pack the supreme courts! And homeless people shouldn't be removed because that's your house, maaan! And safe interjection sites as far as the bloodshot eyes can see! And zoning reform! We'll bulldoze your single-family homes and force an "affordable" Octoplex next door to you with balconies overlooking your backyard! When everyone in America is in a 300 sq ft. efficiency apartment and riding an e-scooter to work, America will TRULY be sustainable! De militarized and de-criminalized shrooms! Clear out the prisons of low-level drug offenders like we did when the weeds got regulated, taxed and de-unlegalized! Self driving electric hybrid cars for everyone! They'll be crashing through a garage door near you by no later than 2099! Trans-humanism! Every human everywhere will be trans!
For me, THE SCIENCE! For thee, THE SILENCE!
(P.S. I’m telling!!)
Dollars to donuts more people know and trust Neil Young or Joni Micthell than Joe Rogan (who?), the trendy "podcast host" who likes to platform crackpots in the name of "information". Factual bulls..t is not information like Hitler's favorite pizza topping, but provably dangerous and harmful. Given that Spotify pays Rogan, they aren't 230 protected platforms but a media company who should get their ass sued.
By the way, the CDC estimates that a couple of hundred thousand are dead due to resistance to covid vaccinations in the US.
Dollars to donuts more people know and trust Neil Young or Joni Micthell than Joe Rogan
OK, Boomer.
Yeah, Rogan is such an asshole. Listening to people with all kinds of different views and ideas. Monstrous.
Rogan is doing the world a service. This censorship is academically catastrophic. Science means knowledge. Science is not static. Science is dynamic. Knowledge is not set in stone especially when it comes to Health matters like an unknown virus of Pandemic proportions. The very flip flopping over time, of what we know or don't know is point taken.
Science is the never-ending process of questioning what "Is" true to get to what might be more true.
Science is the not the belief in the agenda of politically designated experts! This is why we need to be open and learn.
As adults we need to take in all information and make informed decisions, without censored information!
