Samantha Barbas, Professor of Law and Aliber Family Chair, specializes in legal history, First Amendment, and media law. She is the author of eight books, including Actual Malice: Civil Rights and Freedom of the Press in New York Times v. Sullivan (California, 2023), which was listed as one of the New Yorker's Best Books of 2023.
