NASA A session of the United Nations General Assembly opens in New York City today, with Syria, ISIS, and the Middle East refugee crisis at the top of the agenda. President Obama will meet Vladimir Putin while attending. They are expected to talk about Syria and ISIS. Meanwhile, France launched airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syria, and ISIS fighters in Afghanistan killed three police officers in the first ISIS attack in that country not to target the Taliban.
- Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley says there are "legitimate questions" about Hillary Clinton's email controversy and that it threatens to "define" the Democratic party.
