A U.S. Secret Service agent was arrested early Friday after authorities found him passed out on a Miami sidewalk and he became combative after they checked on him, police said.

The agent, identified as Aaron Francis Engler, was found hours after President Obama had left South Florida, according to CBS4 Miami. According to the arrest report, Miami police officers were nearby on an unrelated call when they saw Engler. When they checked on him, he allegedly started to fight with officers, according to the police report.

Police handcuffed Engler and discovered his Secret Service identification when they went through his pockets. Law enforcement sources told CBS4 Engler was part of the advance team for the president's visit on Thursday. Once the president left Miami, Engler said he went drinking and got very drunk, law enforcement sources said.
