Brickbat: Bad Gas
The Colorado Public Utilities Commission has finalized rules requiring natural gas utilities to significantly reduce carbon emissions from homes and other buildings. The rules mandate a 41 percent cut in these emissions over the next 10 years, with the goal of full decarbonization by 2050. To meet those targets, officials will have to push customers to replace gas furnaces and appliances with electric alternatives and upgrade home insulation, despite concerns about the cost to consumers.

We need a federal law outlawing any policy related to Phony AGW theories.
That libertarian governor strikes again.
But he is so dreamy and anti-tribal.
Colorado is fully infected with Californism.
But the Democrats are not trying to outlaw natural gas appliances.
I was assured they’re not really coming for our gas stoves. But leftists always lie.
Anyway, this seems like something that could be part of a longer article about similar policies in several states. Could probably even find something that all the states have in common to tie the piece together.
"leftists always lie" but the righteous are bastions of truth and honesty I guess.
Well that’s what righteous means, yes.
Did you have a point?
Sure, Democrat policies might accidentally leave you freezing to death in a blackout, but you can take comfort in knowing that your children will be able freeze to death, porn in hand, thanks to Democrats having defeated the *real* monsters!
Really, in case of an emergency such as widespread loss of heating and electricity, your children should get sexualized at their local community center or library.
As long as your freezing child can be sterilized with puberty blockers, then we're still human.
"Accidently"?
But they aren't coming for our stoves; I'm told that is just right-wing conspiracy nonsense.
CO needs to get with the program.
Even the Democratic People's Republic of Taxachusetts's beloved Governor Healy is now claiming that she never stood in the way of building natural gas pipelines into MA. (She's lying of course, as a quick search on her news release of Oct 2022 will show.)
One of the lowest CO2 producing ways to heat a building is burn natural gas on-site. Electricity produced by burning natural gas maxes out at 43% efficient, and then there are line losses. Nuclear is fine, if you have it, but windmills and sunshine are not going to cut it, at least not in New England, and probably not in CO.

Even in S. California, the only reason solar "works" on an individual level is because of other market restrictions that make electricity so expensive as to make individual wind/solar (or buying power [and water] from neighboring states) "affordable". Neither wind nor solar is as reliably cost-effective in places that get more than a few inches of snow a year or otherwise experience adverse weather events (tornadoes, tropical storms, floods, etc.).
Mass building energy codes now demand all electric or penalties apply for natural gas. Like mandating solar panels on the roof or purchasing electricity from a windmill farm to offset the carbon emitted by the natural gas furnace.
Some serious stupidity written into the energy codes.
The feds need to shut down the States, global warming hoax assault, on natural gas.
Telling people in the business of selling gas to sell less gas. What could possibly go wrong? And isn't natural gas the lowest CO2 emitting of all fossil fuels? Where do they think electricity comes from?
The wall socket. Duh.
NG was always intended for use as base load generation and to clean up the intermittent and inconsistent electricity produced by windmills and solar.
Even when saying they will remove all fossil fuels they were lying as they knew this was false because of the need for NG generation to c lean the signals and stop the grids from blowing up.
Bloomberg mentioned it when he was briefly running for Pres before the DNC removed him.
But virtue signaling to the gullible and gaslit is the most important agenda item to push fear and lies for power.
Madness.
What is that about 0.0000000000000000000000000001% of a natural forest fire or volcano.
This sh*t has nothing to do with CO2 (as-if plant sustenance was a human threat).
It has everything to do with making everyone dependent on a Nazi-Empire.
Am installing a tankless gas water heater to replace our crappy electric one before the democrats have full power here in Virginia in a couple of weeks, and we fall in line with the other progtard states.
We have a natural gas furnace and also heat pumps in our house, when the temperature dips below freezing as it has for most of the past month, the heat pumps just don’t really do much other than raise our electric bills because they are running all the time.
My heat pump does well. It has lowered my bill by ~$50 per month. I did the install myself. Only 3 years old, it may be more potent than yours as it is good down to 5F. I got all the variable speed blowers. I skimped on the backup furnace as it is only an 80% efficient unit, but it only runs for 2-3 weeks. Iowa.
Perfect timing.
Colorado, where its cold AF, can get everyone on an electric grid that can't support the increased load and then its easy AF to control people when you can turn off their stoves and heating in one go.
Your Smart Meter will know your Social Credit Score.
They got cigaret makers to label their products "Don't use this." But do they really think they'll get suppliers of gas to actually prevent people from using any?
