Brickbat: Big Brother Isn't Watching

Kela Stanford, a contract worker for the Alabama Department of Human Resources, was charged with a felony after 3-year-old Ke'Torrius Starkes Jr. died in her hot car. Stanford had taken Starkes on a supervised visit with his father, but she did not return him to day care. Instead, she ran personal errands, including to a restaurant and a tobacco shop, before leaving him in the car outside her home, on a day when temperatures reached the high 90s. He remained there for five hours, until the day care center called her to ask where he was, by which point Starkes was dead.

His name was Ke'Torrius and you show a picture of a white child?
The first rule of Reason articles is that the picture must never relate to the article.
The second rule of Reason articles is that the article must never contain reason.
There is no third rule.
DEI hiring kills again.
She’s being charged with manslaughter:

Yeah, on the plus side, we've got more than enough illegal immigrants to take her job and immolate their family.
Why the fuck is the kid in the article photo white when the kid killed by the contract worker for a state department of human resources was black per the family photo in the linked article?
Does Reason have KAR doing its graphics now?
The whole thing is just too post-modern, post-truth 2025 America. Aside from reason's typical photo bullshit:
- Kela Stanford and the kid is Ke'Torrius Starkes *Jr.*? I guess it's good her name isn't Killa Starkes.
- Linked article depicts Junior on a novelty Margaritaville chair outside the bar/restaurant, for emotionally manipulative purposes, but no photo of the babymama who was, criminally guilty or not, intentionally guilty or not, responsible for his death?
In defense of Reason; when they talk about Mexicans coming to take jobs and social infrastructure away from Americans, this is, similarly intentional-or-not, the natives they want to or will get rid of.

It wasn’t an article about a kid in a car seat. It was an article about a specific kid that some health and human services contractor allowed to bake in her car. The photo tells a different story than what happened. Lazy/sloppy/poor journalism.
The article could have posted without a picture or perhaps with her mugshot.
This is a brickbat of some sort?
You're okay with murdering toddlers?
Government has the wrong parent on supervised visits ?
I don't see this as a Brickbat, which I understand typically highlights idiocy and incompetence in laws, politicians, police, etc., often with humorous or predictable consequences. But this is just tragedy, that unfortunately happens in this country a couple dozen times a year per research (https://www.kidsandcars.org/hot-cars/facts-sheets).
The fact this person happened to be a government contract worker is not relevant - kinda like how MAGA loves to argue that murders and violent crimes committed by "illegals" is somehow much worse than said crimes committed by home-grown citizens.
I don't think it's hard to argue that a government agent with special legal privileges relating to other people's children making a deadly mistake like this is in fact especially egregious.
special legal privileges relating to other people's children
My article says she's HR, not DCFS, and contract at that. Or is there some HR-oriented "special legal privilege relating to other people's children" that I'm missing?
Not to agree with The Average Dude...
So this is 24 times as deadly as LSD.
murders and violent crimes committed by "illegals" is somehow much worse
Crime committed by illegals is worse because most of it is easily preventable.
Of the Ignatz v. Krazy Kat sort
Chaz race-swapping!
*drink*
a contract worker for the Alabama Department
Ran out of brickbats, did you Chaz? Because this is really scraping the barrel.
Can't decided if this is wrong or not without knowing the mom was a Trump supporter or not.
Um, Alabama + gummint job + demonstrated level of smarts = Trump AND Kanye supporter!
