Can Nativists and Dynamists Coexist Within Trump's MAGA Coalition?
An ongoing online debate over visas for highly skilled foreign workers is revealing a fissure that might define Trump's second term.

When President-elect Donald Trump tapped Sriram Krishnan to be a senior policy advisor on artificial intelligence, he inadvertently revealed one of the major fissures within the nationalist conservative coalition—and the fault lines will likely shape a good portion of his second term in office.
Krishnan is an Indian-American tech entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and business partner of Marc Andreessen, a key Trump ally with significant ties to Silicon Valley. As a wildly successful immigrant, Krishnan has advocated for streamlining America's overly bureaucratic green card system and eliminating the per-country caps on H-1B visas, which are available to specially skilled foreign workers. Most of the H-1B workers in the United States are Indians, but there would likely be even more if the arbitrary per-country caps were eliminated.
Those are ideas that make a lot of sense. Giving employers in the United States better access to the best and most skilled workers, regardless of where in the world they might currently live, is an easy way to ensure America keeps winning the global competition over technology. It would boost other industries too, and (as with all forms of immigration) would strengthen America's economy.
However, an online backlash against Krishnan's nomination reveals that a significant portion of Trump's political coalition doesn't care much about America winning that competition or ensuring a stronger economy. For them, Trump was elected to keep foreigners out—even if America suffers as a result.
That backlash got rolling on December 23, when Laura Loomer, the right-wing political activist who informally advised Trump's campaign, called Krishnan's appointment "deeply disturbing" in a post on X. Removing caps on H-1B visas would allow more foreign workers to come to the U.S. and "take jobs that should be given to American STEM students," she argued.
Complaints from Loomer and other nativists on social media drew responses from some of Trump's top allies, including Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy—a pair of immigrants who made fortunes in tech and the co-chairs of Trump's Department of Government Efficiency.
"It comes down to this: do you want America to WIN or do you want America to LOSE," Musk wrote in one post, replying to another X user who made a Loomer-esque point about foreign workers taking jobs from Americans. "If you force the world's best talent to play for the other side, America will LOSE."
"The 'fixed pie' fallacy is at the heart of much wrong-headed economic thinking," Musk wrote in a separate response. "There is essentially infinite potential for job and company creation."
The debate has raged on X for days now, and has spun off in some weird and, at times, outright racist directions. It's turned into a fight that goes well beyond the merits of Krishnan's hiring or the policy implications of expanding H-1B visas. On Thursday, it took another strange turn when Ramaswamy posted a long screed blaming 90s television shows like Boy Meets World for creating a generation of lazy Americans—or something like that, because it's honestly somewhat unclear what his point was.
This is the sort of thing that happens on Twitter sometimes, particularly during slow news weeks. The specifics of the debate, at this point, are less interesting than its broad contours.
You might think of it as the nativists vs. the dynamists. That is, those who were attracted to Trump because he promised to build a wall and kick out foreigners vs. those who see Trump as uniquely positioned to tear down red tape and usher in a new era of American economic dominance. Both those groups believe they are the heart of the MAGA movement, but their agendas are pointed in almost diametrically opposite directions. Can both exist within a single presidential administration—even one led by as mercurial and vapid a character as Trump?
Loomer is mostly a troll and a crank, but she seems to understand the significance of this fissure within Trump's broader movement. "It was always inevitable that this fight would happen between big tech and MAGA," she wrote on December 26. "Let's just get it over with."
Libertarians, thankfully, don't have to pick a side in all this. But it should be clear that the country would be best served by Musk, Ramaswamy, Krishnan, and the other dynamists emerging victorious. Whatever their other failings—Musk's flirting with nasty ideology, Ramaswamy's bizarre nationalist rhetoric, etc.—they know that a successful country is a growing country, and their impulse to cut red tape for skilled immigrants is the right one. When Musk says the nativists are falling for the "fixed pie" fallacy, he's exactly right.
The alternative is ugly. If Trump governs the way the nativists want, it will deprive American businesses of talented workers, weaken the economy, and strengthen the hand of geopolitical opponents like China—which would be more than happy to welcome the tech talent America rejects. The nativists likely don't care that America would be worse off, because their goals are racial rather than economic, but theirs is the path to decline.
"The high-skill immigration debate has exposed a harsh truth," Alex Tabarrok, an economics professor at George Mason University wrote on X, summing up the ongoing debate. "A significant share of the Trump coalition isn't interested in ending the grievance Olympics—they want to win them."

"Loomer is mostly a troll and a crank . . . "
But I will use her as a typical representative of MAGA to bolster my point.
She apparently brought receipts to the table as well showing the H1-B visa abuse and fraud. That kind of cranked the debate up to 11.
Like when Amazon fired 10k Americans then applied for 10k visas
What a coincidence!
“Barely an inconvenience!”
(If you don’t know what voice to read that in, watch ScreenRants channel on YouTube).
She's pretty trollish, but more than anything is just combative. It's unfortunate that her histrionics and attention seeking behavior detract from how often she does bring the receipts.
She makes herself easy to despise even when correct or in general agreement.
There is no contradiction here.
Just for the record, every H1-B visa holder I worked with had no special skills, they were all run of the mill programmers. What they had in common was working for low wages for the consulting company that held their visa.
^ This is largely accurate
Yes, and the visa they get is worth at least hundreds of thousands of dollars to them and their whole extended family who they will bring here by chain migration. The cost of that benefit is externalized onto the American public and particularly young Americans trying to start their careers. This allows the H1B employer to "offer" a massive benefit to the visa holder that the company doesn't have to pay for and lower actual wages correspondingly.
What Eric Boehm either reluctantly or strategically avoided here is that there is a database online of H1-B visas, the companies sponsoring them, and the salaries these people get.
Here's some from Chicago, near me: https://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=&job=&city=chicago&year=2024
A number of them are accountants, attorneys (we don't produce enough attorneys!?!), childcare director (we need to import these?), HR specialists (again, we need to import these?), tax consultants (really!?!).
Trump and his defenders say that illegal immigration is the problem, but they're making no effort to streamline the current cumbersome system to make it easier for people to come here and work legally. That tells me the same thing that Jesse's links say, which is that they're really nativist xenophobes who are against immigration in general, but say that they're only against illegal immigration and illegal immigrants because they know they'd get negative reactions if they were honest.
So you link a cartoon made by Shikha?
I thought you were being facetious, but oh wow, he really did.
American nationalism is Civic Nationalism, not Ethnic Nationalism. Two very different things.
Sarckles knows this, but being the garbage troll and attention whore he is, will still try to portray nationalist opposition to the illegal component of the current mass migration as xenophobia for Guaranteed Replies.
And his ambassador got a mention.
There’s a lot of both you lying sack of Canadian shit. You know this. But you lie, lie and then lie some more to put people on the defensive and change the subject to them because you lack the intellect and integrity to have an actual debate.
Give us an example then, vermin. Where's your proof, that it's xEnOphObiC instead of condemnation of illegal entry?
You were so big on trespassing on J6. Are you that desperate to hand out billions in social welfare to scofflaws?
Thank you for proving my point.
Yeah, that only works when you have a point, retard. You were just calling names and trolling.
If the problem was illegal immigration then you’d support changing the current system that incentivizes being illegal by making legal immigration impossible for the majority of people who want to come here and work. The xenophobia is self evident.
Now continue to attack me and call me names because you have no argument.
To quote Sevo, Sarc, "you are full of shit".
Shockingly sarcs third attempt at failing to make an actual intelligent argument argument is to argue against his own imaginations.
No matter how many times someone comes costs, crimes, welfare state, negative externalities... dishonest to the core sarc will invent a moralostic argument based around racism and xenophobia. Because sarc is a retarded open borders Marxist.
If the problem was illegal immigration then you’d support changing the current system that incentivizes being illegal by making legal immigration impossible for the majority of people who want to come here and work. The xenophobia is self evident."
And yet you have not a single example to back your claim that people against illegal entry want to make it impossible.
In fact Trump's wife Melania is a legal immigrant, as is JD Vance's wife Usha's parent. Kash Patel's parents are Gujarati immigrants, Elon Musk is an immigrant, etc, etc. The list of legal immigrants is huge in the Trump administration.
As for me, my mom and sister in law are immigrants to Canada from France and the Dominican Republic. My other brother and sister are immigrants to the US from Canada.
So why would all these immigrants and those with immigrant family be against legal immigration, you tremendous fucking retard troll. Show your work for a change.
Your entire immigration argument steals several bases to start from one of two premises:
1: there are enough jobs to keep tens of millions of low skilled non English speaking immigrants housed and fed without spending billions of other people’s money to support them. This is absurd.
2: you’re just fine with volunteering other people’s money to support them. It makes you feel good. Fuck off.
Don’t worry. We’ll let in the ones we need once we send them home and figure out a reasonable number and then vet them. You made this mess. Don’t get all butthurt just because it’s past time to fix it. To our benefit. Not mexicos.
By the way, where ya been, buddy? Don’t be such a stranger. Haha.
So trespassing and being able to shoot trespassers only works for J6?
Hey, if blindly shooting into a crowd at an unarmed woman is what it takes for sarc to like a cop...
It's the kind of cop he would be.
But he imagines you or me as nazi or Russian www guards. He is always projecting.
Look at sarc get angry when his retarded leftist name calling is pointed out. And since you have no actual intelligent argument to make, you're going i to rage victim mode. Lol.
He's the worst kind of troll. He wants to get people mad for the lulz but he's not very smart and always ends up being the guy throwing the tantrum in the end instead.
He is honestly just a dumb person who thinks he is smart because he listens to podcasts. He refuses to read actual books. Always being told what to think instead of doing any himself.
If it wasn't for completely misunderstanding the arguments of your opponents you would have no argument lol.
It is amazing your inability to actually create a logical argument to counter someone else's point.
Why you are dependent on screaming racist and xenophobia like most retarded open border Marxists.
strengthen the hand of geopolitical opponents like China—which would be more than happy to welcome the tech talent America rejects.
Given that the overwhelming number of H1B visas are to Indians, this is an omegalul pants-on-fire lie.
How about these folks enrich India instead? They can start by cleaning up the piles of garbage one can see by dropping a Google Street View pin anywhere in India.
No shit. The employment numbers for even tech degree holders in China is bad. They aren't importing shit. Let them have the ones Eric is worried about.
You would think Eric could read one of many essays regarding Americans training up the H1B holders as replacement or how mediocre their output is.
Exactly. All of this is just lies and propaganda.
You can heal the breach just by reforming the H1-B system, so that you can't use H1-B workers to undercut American workers' wages. Is there any reason a "dynamicist" would object to paying market wages, or a 'nativist' object to hiring a foreigner who didn't displace an American worker?
There is a failed "tech university" in Silicon Valley that was cheap tuition to teach people to switch to coding careers. It was an epic failure. They churned out terrible coders. This is similar to all the India universities churning out engineers. Bad quality employees, not good employees. But they are cheaper.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2016-12-06/want-a-job-in-silicon-valley-keep-away-from-coding-schools
You would think Reasons economist would look deeper than facially at a supposed argument he supports.
Is there any reason a "dynamicist" would object to paying market wages
The same reason as why the writers are setting their hair on fire over tariffs: it undercuts the bottom line.
Any and all cost increases are evil. Which is fully consistent with them being corporate tools.
The H1-B system could use a complete overhaul. I have worked with many visa holders and, on the whole, they are exactly the type of permanent immigrants America should be soliciting - educated, risk takers who desire to assimilate into the culture.
The system, however, is horrific and rife with abuse. This is all on the part of the companies and industries who benefit from an entire class of workers who live in constant fear of being deported because they only live here at the whim of their employer.
We don't necessarily need more H1-B holders, we need to free the existing ones and give them a clear path to citizenship.
Speaking of nativists it is interesting that Sleepy Joe left two far right mass murderers out of his commutations (the Charleston and Pittsburgh gunmen).
Donnie would not dare carry out federal executions of MAGA types, would he?
1. What the fuck does this have to do with the H1-B visas we were all discussing here, dipshit?
2. Please explain for the commentariart how you managed to get your original account permabanned.
Just like Sarc, he's trolling. All their narratives have been thoroughly destroyed leaving them both with zero credibility, so they troll and shitpost here as a pathetic form of revenge and for much craved attention.
Every time you respond with a personal attack you prove that you have no argument. And while that impresses your fellow Trump defenders, anyone with a brain can see right through it.
Oh shut the fuck up. You've been aiming for a fight with anyone this morning with your strawcasmic trolling about Reason and how they only attack one side. You are the biggest fucking hypocrite in the commentariat, by far, and that's saying something with as hypocritical as Jeffy, White Mike, and Shrike can be.
You idiots make personal attacks and then when we punch back you squeal "Help, help, it's a personal attack!".
I must be nice having all those principles you can hold everyone else to and never yourself.
You’re not punching back, you’re skirting arguments by attacking the person. It’s all you’ve ever done and all you will ever do.
IDEAS©!
You didn't present an argument, you lying fuck, you were calling people "xenophobes" solely for thinking illegal entry was wrong.
That's not an argument, it's just taunting, you fucking retard.
No, I’m calling Trump defenders xenophobes for blaming immigrants, not the system. I’m calling them xenophobes for attacking legal immigrants by insulting their intelligence and worth. I’m calling them xenophobes for wanting to round up tens of millions of people like cattle with no regard for the consequences. I’m calling them xenophobes for laughing when families are separated and children traumatized. I’m calling them xenophobes for wanting to keep the system that incentivizes illegal entry by severely restricting legal entry, or restrict it even more.
Maybe if you weren’t all of those things I wouldn’t call you a xenophobe.
He admits to calling his enemies xenophobes while claiming he isn't engaging in personal attacks lol.
God damn you're retarded.
"I’m calling them xenophobes for attacking legal immigrants by insulting their intelligence and worth."
Sarckles knows that he's lying. As I said above:
Trump's wife Melania is a legal immigrant, as is JD Vance's wife Usha's parent.
And yet this trolling retard thinks he can just pump out smears without any evidence and everyone will fall for it without any examples or proof on his part.
Every one of your arguments, including your first, was an attempted personal attack. Lol.
How are you such a raging hypocrite?
It's no secret that Americans, American nationalist specifically, love their legal and illegal immigration when they can benefit from it. But when they can't, all hell breaks loose!
The nativists likely don't care that America would be worse off, because their goals are racial rather than economic
LOL, so once again the only arrow in the leftist quill is OMG RaCiSm!
lmao. You guys are pathetic.
So your argument is that because leftists falsely accuse people of racism all the time, we should ignore it when people really are racist?
Such as who?
If your falsely screaming racist at 99%, why do we give a shit at the 1% you purposely flood out of the conversation?
https://read.gov/aesop/043.html
Pretty much, yes.
When someone keeps crying wolf, the best response is not to keep jumping when they do, but to ignore them.
Now, when someone credible starts yelling racism, I'll look.
Boehm also neglects to discuss the fraud in the H1-B visa system.
https://www.theregister.com/2024/04/09/h1b_visa_fraud/
Didn't Musk fire a bunch of Americans after buying Twitter and relied heavily on H1-B to keep it running on a shoe string workforce?
He keeps talking about motivation...they are motivated to work long hours; weekends, holidays, etc...and don't complain. Are they really so motivated Elon? Or are they in a position where their immigration status and their ability to stay/work in the U.S. is dependent on their job? I.e, they are glorified indentured servants.
I don't trust the tech bros. They would gladly automate every job in America to make a buck and have cheap foreign labor run the technical side of the automation/software. I am not MAGA but MAGA's main thing was "America first"; and it pains me to say, but I think Loomer has the better of the argument here since at the same time as this is going on, MAGA is talking about rounding up and deporting 5-20million illegal immigrants many of whom work low skilled jobs. What is the end game here? All the Americans who lose their jobs to foreign H1-B can work the jobs left behind when all the Mexicans get sent back south of the border? Ha! Good luck with getting the majority white MAGA base on board with that brilliant plan.
The point of H1B is to have mid-range employees indentured to the company. This keeps them locked in a low wages and they not only can't leave, they can't do anything but blindly go along with management otherwise they are shipped back to India.
If it's as bad as you say then they should welcome going back to India. Since they don't, it must not be.

Free Markets & Free Minds
No one is forced into anything - consenting adults are free to consent. “Don’t like gay marriage - don’t get gay married” comes to mind - folks are welcome to knowingly make their choices to work on an H1B vista, or go home.
I see nothing wrong with that.
Nativists and dynamists are both wrong. None of the parties to the MAGA coalition deserve any special attention from the rest of us, especially analysis of a non-existent policy issue. If both the Red party and Blue party dried up and blew away America would be better off for it.
None of the parties to the MAGA coalition deserve any special attention from the rest of us
That little vote some people did in November might say otherwise.
The false morality and religion of your ilk is amazing to watch. Never an actual argument from people like you. Lol.
Highly skilled foreign workers are the ones taking good jobs away from Americans though. It seems like we should be encouraging low skilled foreign workers to immigrate on temporary visas, to do the drudge work. For some reason, some MAGAs want the opposite.
...believing in 'working' at all goes against the statistics.
Course if they all believed in 'working' their own nation wouldn't be such a disaster.
And Reason Indoctrinates over and over and over again.
*ALL* Immigrants are hard-working, perfect little angels. /s
There is no such thing as a Commie-Immigrant who supports STEALING... /s
Never-mind those 75%+ Immigrants supporting the Nazi Empire or those 51% on welfare.
OUR Reason BS will indoctrinate otherwise! /s
A government, any government, should prioritize the interests of its own citizens over the interests of others (others being non-citizens, also known as foreigners).
You need to start by determining whether that premise is agreed upon. Ostensibly, both sides of this debate on the right agree with that premise, but are disagreeing about what those interests are or what actions actually further such interests.
Even on the left, pretty much all of the leftists make the same argument, that increased immigration is in the best interest of citizens. So most of their rhetoric impliedly very strongly agrees with the premise, but at the same time they won't agree to it expressly and will call it racist or "nativist."
It's a matter of degree. People don't just disagree about whether the government should prioritize the interests of its citizens over that of foreigners, they also disagree about by how much it should. Most people believe that the government has some obligation to respect the interests of noncitizens, no one ever seriously argues that the USA should invade Canada and plunder its resources to enrich American citizens. However, most people don't go all the way in the other direction and say the interests of foreigners should be weighed identically, no one says we should mail social security checks to people in other countries. So one thing "nativist" can mean issomeone who favors the interests of Americans over foreigners more than most people think is reasonable.
In this instance, though, I think "nativist" has an even stronger meaning. In this debate it refers to someone who cares about keeping foreigners out of America more than they care about the interests of everyone, both foreigners and Americans. Nativists want to keep out foreigners even if those foreigners are beneficial to American citizens. They don't just prioritize the interests of their citizens over the interests of foreigners, they are willing to sacrifice the interests of either group to achieve their goal.
(Another factor is that nativists seemed biased to focus on concentrated harms over diffuse ones. They care a lot about one citizen losing their job, but don't care at all about lots of citizens being made slightly poorer)
I think the issue is that Musk and his coalition foolishly believed the nativist faction when they said that they believed America should favor its citizens' welfare interests over that of foreigners. Because they believed them, they foolishly thought that all they would need to do to get nativists to admit more foreigners is provide evidence that those foreigners would benefit American citizens if they came here.
What they didn't realize was that nativists don't care about American citizens at all. They care about excluding foreigners. They want to exclude foreigners even if doing so harms American citizens and weakens the country.
Usual leftist bullshit.
Look fat, most of us hate the welfare system in its entirety. But giving welfare to foreign legions is just extra retarded. And bringing in foreign labor to replace domestic increases domestic welfare. It's a double whammy.
On top of that they aren't bringing in top talent despite the lies you and your Marxist brethren say. If that is what you actually believed you'd advocate for a merit based worker visa system over family lottery systems. But you don't.
Yes, the insatiable hate of foreigners is why Donald Trump won 46% Latino votes.
What happens to the Mexicans in this country if fast food joints and construction hires guest workers who can pay them half the prevailing wage? Did I mention that something like 30% of tech is Asian?
These are lived in experiences, friend.
A better look at the H1B discussion compare to our history major turned economist here.
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1872356791310590220.html
Funny how writers here utterly refused to coexist with the Mises crowd, then insinuate that MAGA is too small minded to coexist with Elon over one single issue. Trust me, when push comes to shove, the right will set aside their differences with allies to support of a greater agenda. This is how Lincoln was able to save America and how wars that threatened humanity have been won.
I read Breibart and trust me, that's MAGA world. And most of them know coders are woker than Fidel Castro. They often throw back "learn to code" at their faces when tech layoffs occur. But on a fundamental level, they know something is wrong when big tech lays off thousands of American tech workers but calls for expansion of foreign guest workers.
Americans are still moderate on immigration. They will accept foreign guest workers to fill genuine shortages. But they'll have misgivings about a nation that becomes too dependent on outside help. What happens when there are recruitment shortages in police and army? Sensitive infrastructure? Just recruit from abroad? What happens to Mexicans here if construction companies could hire temp workers at half the wage?
Vivek thinks there's a shortage of tech workers and advocates for a shift in culture to value that line of work. The fact that Boehm mocked him shows that he's more nuanced on this issue. If the "dynamists" ran this country, someone like Trump would win every election year.
This is a better summary than Reason will offer. I've been watching this fight on X and honestly think both sides are being excessive.
Vivek summed it up best in promoting developing native excellence while filling deficiencies with international brain drain. The aim of the nation should be the betterment of the nation. I think a lot of the virulence here is strong words and a bit of missing the nuances that both sides ultimately agree on the goals.
There is a problem when 'the nation' has decided that *you* need replacement by someone better though.
Too much focus on the collective leads to monsters who will absolutely destroy the individual.
Lincoln didn't save America.
What came into existence at the end of the Civil War may have the same name, wear the same face, but it came back wrong.
Sometimes . . . sometimes, dead is better.
All I know is that every time I call an 800 number I have a conversation with a very polite individual with what I take to be an Indian accent. These conversations typically last for a rather long time as we both ask the other to repeat themselves multiple times. I don't know if these people are doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do, or if Americans are unwilling to emigrate to wherever these jobs are. In any case, I imagine thousands of tiny cubicles filled with workers working 18 hour shifts served meals of gruel and moldy bread and sleeping on a cold hard floor between shifts. I imagine the old, the dead and the dying being dragged out to trash compacters while maintenance crews apply disinfectants to work surfaces as new hires pace the entryway awaiting the newly vacated chairs. Probably shouldn't have read Orwell and Rand all those years ago.
OK grandpa. Time for bed.
1. Most call centers nowadays are some dude working out of his one-bedroom apartment with a computer and phone line, not a dude in Bangladesh that barely speaks English.
2. You will be *pining* for the days when the dude who could barely speak English was manning the call center - the new 'AI' (LLM) driven stuff being rolled out can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity! Or remorse or fear and it absolutely will not deviate from the script! EVER!
Musk is either actively lying, or doesn't know what's going on at his own company. X Corp hired an account in California, two marketing positions in NY, and a revenue strategy and operations manager through the H1B system in 2024. The idea that those positions need a 0.1% engineer to fulfil them is a laughable idea at best. More likely is that everyone around him is telling him that's what they're using the system for and lying to him about it.
You are arguing about legally dealing with people whose main quality is rejection of our legal heritage.
==================
there will be those who will want to stay and become citizens of the lands they visit. However, he sets as the first condition for acceptance a desire to integrate fully into what would today be considered the culture and life of the nation.
A second condition is that the granting of citizenship would not be immediate. The integration process takes time. People need to adapt themselves to the nation. He quotes the philosopher Aristotle as saying this process was once deemed to take two or three generations. Saint Thomas himself does not give a time frame for this integration, but he does admit that it can take a long time.
Saint Thomas: “The reason for this was that if foreigners were allowed to meddle with the affairs of a nation as soon as they settled down in its midst, many dangers might occur, since the foreigners not yet having the common good firmly at heart might attempt something hurtful to the people.”
Like the Tea Party movement before it, the MAGA movement is so easily coopted by the elite. There are more than one group of elites and while Trump has people looking at the left elites the tech elites step up to the plate. The first Trump administration talked about the little guys but rewarded the rich with tax breaks and deregulation. There is no reason to think the next Trump administration will be different, other than the tech billionaires will be the big beneficiaries. As for the accusation coming late to the movement, I would point out that tech billionaire Peter Thiel has bankrolled JD Vance back to the time of Vance's Senate run.
Yet somehow the Democratic Party - the party with all the techbros in it - somehow they remained pure and dedicated to service to the American people.
“… For them, Trump was elected to keep ([{ I L L E G A L }]) foreigners out…”
Oof, FTFY
Mockingbird PsyOp to paint a “Civil War” (division) on the Right.
There’s no division, and no one on the Right is falsely conflating illegals with legal VISA holders.
However, the Left wing propagandist press is certainly trying its best to paint it this way, to sow division (divide and conquer). It’s such a basic 101 tactic as to be laughable.
>For them, Trump was elected to keep foreigners out—even if America suffers as a result.
Americans are pissed at Biden's unchecked immigration stance - legal as well as legal.
The fact of the matter is, they want blood and Trump's gonna have to give them some. When they calm down in a couple years, *then* will be the time to revisit the 'high-skilled workers' issue.
But I have real doubts that a few years of tighter limits on H1B visas is going to 'hurt' us in any serious manner.
And - at the end of the day - we're libertarians. If Americans want to hurt themselves, that is their right. And don't be going on about how its not fair that *you* are getting hurt by someone else's decisions - you were fine with others being hurt when you were getting your way on illegal immigration.
Those assholes have been threatening civil war against everyone else for years. Fingers crossed, they turn on each other.
