Brickbat: Witches, Warlocks, and Bureaucracy

In England, an employee with the Liverpool City Council ordered Caroline Ashley to remove the Halloween decorations from her front yard. According to the city worker, a neighbor complained that the decorations, which included what appeared to be two bodies in body bags hanging from a tree, were too realistic and upsetting. "It's the quickest the council has come out for anything," Ashley said. "I put them up, and then he was round the following day." Ashley removed the items, saying she didn't want to offend any of her neighbors.

...two bodies in body bags hanging from a tree, were too realistic and upsetting.
Migrant culture is not her costume.
Too soon after "two weeks". A vivid reminder of when the morgues were so full they had to hang bodies in body bags from the trees.
Must be how they did it in your area. Around here they were stacking bodies like cordwood.
Govt worker....says it all. Govt "grifter" workers are usually far lefties who can't get jobs in the free market. Not talking about guys who fix the roads but the "community activist" social worker/diversity types...liberal art majors who bring nothing to the market but get govt jobs...I would have refused to take my decorations down..then again in the US we have a Bill of Rights..something the Brits have refused to have and has destroyed liberty
Did someone in the city council think that MAPedo types would show up and sprinkle on what they believed to be corpses?
The scariest thing I see around our neighborhood is (well, obviously) the lawn signs for candidates.
One lawn in town has a Harris sign and a circle of witches... wearing Harris T-shirts.
I can't tell if it's parody or genuine lack of awareness that you're expressing support for your candidate using a fictional archetype known for luring kids into their home with candy and then trying to shove them into the oven so they can eat them.
Either way, it's pretty hilarious.
Saw one pic of a yard decorated for Hallowe’en with a complete collection of the campaign signs of all the failed presidential candidates over the last few decades. Political graveyard! Scary!
Just came here to note that Nancy Rommelman (Yes, that one) has a piece in RCP about Western NC, post-Helene. Nice on-site reporting.
How were they able to determine she wasn't just a trouble-making Christian complaining about a righteous Hamas victory celebration?
were too realistic and upsetting.
Were they silently praying?
and here I spend all my time trying to upset my neighbors.
