State of the race: "Kamala Harris and Donald J. Trump are essentially tied—with neither candidate ahead by even a single point—in The New York Times's polling average of five critical battleground states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin and North Carolina," reports Times analyst Nate Cohn. "In North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan, neither candidate even 'leads' by more than two-tenths of a percentage point. Neither can realistically win the presidency without winning at least one of these states."

One interesting feature of the race right now—and we are two weeks out from election day—is the number of uncommitted/undecided voters, and the fact that this group skews younger. Older voters have largely made up their minds, but "43 percent of 18- to 25-year-olds are uncommitted, a larger share than any other age group," reports The Washington Post, noting too that a higher portion of non-white voters have yet to make up their minds when compared with white voters.

"Trump is strongest in Arizona, where he holds an edge of six percentage points among registered voters," reports the Post. "That shrinks to three points among likely voters. His four-point edge in North Carolina among registered voters ticks down to three points among likely voters. That echoes a Post poll conducted last month but contrasts with a Quinnipiac poll suggesting Harris may have a slight edge. Those advantages are within the margin of error."

"The data continues to be pretty negative for Kamala Harris," reported Nate Silver yesterday afternoon, who concurs that the race is super tight but offers additional color. "There are now three recent high-quality national polls that show Donald Trump leading—a difficult circumstance for Harris, given Democrats' Electoral College disadvantage—and her edge in our national polling average is down to 1.7 points. National polls don't influence the model that much, and the race remains basically a toss-up, but it's not hard to think of reasons that Trump could win."

In fact, a bunch of factors may be working against Harris, notes Silver. "Incumbent parties worldwide are doing very poorly, and the historical incumbency advantage has diminished to the point where it may now be an incumbency handicap instead given perpetually negative perceptions about the direction of the country," for example. At least some responsibility for inflation—which reached highs in June 2022, and has climbed downward since but remains stubborn in some sectors—can credibly be assigned to the outgoing administration, with which Harris is associated.

Making matters worse for Harris, the Democrats are increasingly becoming the party of the more highly educated and racial minority voters have started to shift away from them. Their attacks on Trump have been uneven, and their defenses of President Joe Biden have foreclosed much possibility of using Trump's age and mental fitness against him. "Trump presents Democrats with a Three Stooges Syndrome problem: a range of plausible attacks so vast that they tend to cancel one another out," Silver adds.

The final call is "dependent on a number of states, like Pennsylvania, that we believe are going to be reporting in a pattern similar to the way they have reported in the past," Fox News' election forecaster, Arnon Mishkin, told Politico, who predicts that the Saturday after election day is when the final race call will be made—same as when the Pennsylvania call was made last time.

Scenes from New York: The Apprentice, a newly released Donald Trump biopic, focuses "on Mr. Trump's initial days in Manhattan real estate as he untethers himself from an oppressive father to succumb instead to the savage ventriloquy of Roy Cohn," writes The New York Times' Ginia Bellafante, who adds that the film hones in on the many tax breaks Trump lobbied for and on his sparring with the officials who sometimes denied him.

  • "'I intend to do a lot of work to improve government efficiency,' [Elon] Musk told a crowd of about 1,200 at an event Friday night in suburban Philadelphia," recounts The Wall Street Journal. "On Sunday near Pittsburgh, he said it should be an easy job, if not for entrenched interests pushing back. 'They'll be grumpy about it, but the American people will be very happy that their tax dollars are being spent in a much more sensible way,' he said."
  • "Israel widened its bombing campaign in Lebanon over the weekend, targeting financial institutions it says help fund Hezbollah's military operations," reports Bloomberg. "Israel targeted branches of Al Qard Al Hassan Association—a bank-like institution [though technically a charity]—in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley in the east and Tyre and Nabatieh in the south. The Israeli military launched at least 11 strikes on Sunday evening in Beirut's southern suburbs, where Hezbollah has a strong presence, according to Lebanese media."

  • "If you complain about these trends, the responses you'll get typically fall into two camps. One sympathizes with you, but offers only a resigned 'How are you just now noticing?' The other dismisses your concerns as a symptom of aging. There's plenty of great music, movies, literature, and fashion, and if you don't like it, that's your inability to keep up. Both responses miss something important, though. They both assume that what we know as 'culture' is the only type of culture that could ever exist," writes Katherine Dee on cultural-product slop and sameness. "There's a third possible response, and that's that there's a new culture all around us. We just don't register it as 'culture.'"

2/Japanese cities feel different than big, dense cities elsewhere -- NYC, London, and Paris, but also other Asian cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

There are many reasons for this, but today I'll focus on one: Zakkyo buildings. pic.twitter.com/4oemwrXdaC

"Kamala Harris and Donald J. Trump are essentially tied—with neither candidate ahead by even a single point—in The New York Times's polling average..."

Hmmm. Glad you picked a non-biased source.

    1. Chumby   9 months ago

Polymarket has Trump above 61% and Kamala below 39%. $2B in play.

      1. Sevo, 5-30-24, embarrassment   9 months ago

Yeah, and the NYT has no skin in the game, other than blatant bias. People tend to pay attention when money's involved.

        1. Spiritus Mundi   9 months ago

What do you mean 'no skin in the game?' Democracy itself is at stake and Trump is going to put all the NYT writers in gulags!

          1. Mother's Lament   9 months ago

Sarcasmic say he's going to be put in an internment camp if Trump wins. No, really.

Just another reason to vote for trump.

Sarc doesn’t need to convince me even more to vote for Trump.

NYTimes is owned and controlled by conservatives. That is why we see so much sanewashing about Trump. They are not allowed to honestly report how nuts he is.

Kamala's Joy turning into Kamala's Oy.

The American electorate is moving in one direction now, away from Team D. The Donald has momentum.

Now Kamala must speak, and that is her downfall. She cannot speak extemporaneously. Now the world can see for themselves why 99% of Democrats rejected her in the 2020 primary. When she speaks, she loses votes.

        1. Mother's Lament   9 months ago

If Trump manages to beat the margin of fraud the Democratic Party donors have only themselves to blame.
They subverted the primaries and the party's own supporter's democratic choices in 2016, 2020 and 2024 in order to "save democracy".

          1. Earth-based Human Skeptic   9 months ago

Trump has to beat the margin of distributed fraud AND be ready for some national emergency surprise.

Christian National Socialism in Amerika caused the Crash and Depression stateside and in Germany. The Hoover-Anslinger-League of Nations new and improved prohibitionism brought Hitler fame starting July 13, 1931, and Fuhrership within 2 years. Every Panic and Crash you can name were caused by self-righteous religious bigots we are obligated to pity--and grovel before--because they can't help being brainwashees. Yet these cretins CLAIM to understand markets precisely to muddle and obfuscate their own disasters.

        2. Sevo, 5-30-24, embarrassment   9 months ago

Some lefty whacko had her 'losing'(her word) since she didn't have a year to campaign.
Nope; the more the public sees and hears her, the less they like her. She was a shining example of the Peter Principle the day she took office as SF DA, and has gotten more and more out of depth ever since.

          1. HorseConch   9 months ago

Could she break 35% if she spent a year getting treated like Trump has by the MSM while barnstorming the country doing multiple events per day? He has been doing it for 8 and is going to beat her.

        3. Red Rocks White Privilege   9 months ago

Now Kamala must speak, and that is her downfall. She cannot speak extemporaneously.

It’s not just that, it’s her personality. In public, she constantly comes off sounding like some air-headed wine aunt that spent too much time watching Oprah for 30 years, and in private, there’s enough stories about her nasty relationship with her staff to show that even people in her own party can’t stand working for her.

So even if she wins, the government’s going to be a complete clusterfuck anyway, because this boba-brained bimbo is afflicted with the same “Lean In” syndrome that’s created a highly divisive gender dynamic in politics, coupled with the same mental illness of pathological altruism that’s intentionally crippling western society from any kind of institutional competency.

          1. Mike Parsons   9 months ago

Im telling you, its the disdain and condescension she exudes when anyone gives her the slightest pushback.

I think the average American can see that she doesnt have a good answer to the big questions, and when she as that cunty "how dare you" response to *very* reasonable questions, they can see through it. You *should* have an answer about Joe's cognitive status, about the border, about how 4 more years would be different than the past 4 years where you were in charge and have cosigned everything Biden did...to react like a fucking bitch and pretend we should vote for you because "but TRUMP!!" is something we are collectively over...well, hopefully over

Not a single thing of substance, just constant 'I'm a Marine, I was in Iraq' and 'Kari Lake hates abortion'.

And its like, bro, *I worked with Marines*, you being one is not a flex among those of us who have also been in the military and there aren't that many boomers in AZ and Kari Lake is, like you, running for *federal senator*. Who cares what she thinks about abortion, she won't be in a position to do anything about it.

If you can't tell who is/was a Marine, don't worry, they'll tell you. Usually within the first sentence they utter. God, but Marines are insufferable sometimes (a lot of the time) with their egos and glory hounding.

Honestly, and I say this as a military vet myself, one of the best things about GWOT ending is that it's going to be increasingly tough for candidates using their military service as a moral cloak. I honestly don't give a shit if these guys were in Iraq and Afghanistan. I want to know if they'll represent my interests or not.

No serious person would say HER speaking is a negative when compared to Trump’s. Trump is fucking terrible. Don’t worry about finishing a thought, he can’t get through a sentence.

This is Trump answering a question during one of his recent fake townhall events. The question was whether the recent hurricanes made him reconsider his previous stance that climate change was a hoax:

I own Doral right next door, and we did that in a very environment — I got awards, environmental awards for the way I built it, for the water, the way I use the water, the sand, the mixing of the sand and the water.”

      4. mad.casual   9 months ago

Yeah, as indicated below, the DNC would appear to be in worse shape now, with Kamala, than with FJB the night before the debate.

Anecdotally, lots of democratic ads in my DNC-locked state of IL. Some even trying to appeal to Republicans. None running on Harris' coattails or against Trump.

        1. creech   9 months ago

Seems to me that the Dem congressional candidates in Phila.'s collar counties in Penna. are all equating their GOP opponents to Trump.

          1. soldiermedic76   9 months ago

Casey, Brown, Tester, and the one in Wisconsin are all running ads about how they have worked with Trump and are now refusing to campaign with Harris. Brown and Tester are not much of an indicator as Montana and Ohio are fairly solidly Trump states. Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, however, are definitely swing states. When the incumbent Democratic Senator running for re-election in those states runs ads on how well they can work with the Republican nominee, and tell the Democratic nominee to stay away, it's pretty indicative of how things are going in those states.

        2. InsaneTrollLogic (Factio Democratica delenda est 5/30/24)   9 months ago

What’s also interesting is that there are spontaneous MAGA rallies on the South and West Sides of Chicago.

        1. mad.casual   9 months ago

That must mean she totally worked there… right, Sarc?

It's probably even better than that. She worked there for like two weeks before getting canned. They shredded the paperwork and are swearing the people who trained her and had to stop her from putting her hand in the fryer to secrecy.

          1. Red Rocks White Privilege   9 months ago

To be fair, if she did actually work there it would have been in the early 80s. Whoever owned the franchise at the time probably sold it off years or even decades ago, and the employment records are long gone. And that was a time period when it was considered a rite of passage for a teenager to get some kind of fast food or service industry job in order to learn how to be more responsible. So it's more likely than not that someone who grew up in that time period had at least some kind of experience there.

The most telling thing is that no one she supposedly worked with even remembers her. Now, I don't recall everyone I ever worked with in the fast food/service industry through college, but I remember enough of them to know that I'd certainly recall them if one ever became Vice President of the US. So yeah, that either indicates she was there for about two weeks and left, or it never happened.

            1. JesseAz (5-30 Banana Republic Day)   9 months ago

The telling thing is she claimed she only did the fry station. No fast food employee does only one thing.

              Well... maybe special needs hires.

              1. Red Rocks White Privilege   9 months ago

Having worked in fast food kitchens, I can confirm that noob employees are typically either put on fries, or the grill, because they're the easiest stations to start off on. If she did actually work in a place like that, it's not unreasonable that she'd be put on fries most of the time, even if she is doing her fake-ass "I was born in a middle class family" routine.

However, it was also pretty common for young, decent-looking females to be put on the register taking orders, because they'd draw in more people. You typically wouldn't hide them in the back making fries unless they were just starting out and needed to get familiar with the food and service routine, which is why she probably quit the job after two weeks like a lot of young people do in that industry, and never took any kind of similar job afterwards. Assuming she's not completely bullshitting, of course.

                1. JesseAz (5-30 Banana Republic Day)   9 months ago

I did it for one summer. I learned every station by week 2.

So maybe if she was there for only a week or two.

                  1. Mother's Lament   9 months ago

I did a year at age 16-17 at McDonalds as a "crew Member". They had me everywhere. The grill, the fry station, bussing tables, changing garbages. Being able to move where they needed you was the point.

Only working the till and whatever the guy who called for how many burgers to make and when (I forgot the title) required another training session.

whatever the guy who called for how many burgers to make and when (I forgot the title)

I think you're referring to the expeditor, but usually that's just the assistant manager on duty calling that back, because it's the central node for all the order deliveries.

                    2. Mother's Lament   9 months ago

It wasn't that... it was like 'shift manager' or something. This was back when they made the whole burger up to 10 minutes before and then put them in a warmer sliding thing that the cashiers would grab the burgers for their orders.
Their job was to determine how many burgers, nuggets and fries needed to be made and what kinds for the next ten or fifteen minutes. The goal was to make sure that the cashiers weren't having to wait, but also that not so many would be made that there would have to be wastage.

                    3. Red Rocks White Privilege   9 months ago

This was back when they made the whole burger up to 10 minutes before and then put them in a warmer sliding thing that the cashiers would grab the burgers for their orders.

Yeah, the shift supervisor is usually the assistant manager on duty. During rushes, we were supposed to keep a certain number of burgers stocked in the warmer, and about half that during down times because you'd always have randos dropping in. We'd try to keep spoilage down to about 7 or 8 burgers or less per shift, because after 10 minutes, the burgers would be even less edible than when they were done.

Back when fries were cooked in lard not hydrogenated vegetable oil, the pies were fried not baked, the folded eggs were cooked not defrosted, the biscuits were fresh not frozen, the bread wasn’t pretoasted, the mean wasn’t precooked… back when the food didn’t suck.

And yes, the job was expediter. Same word they use in normal kitchens for the guy who coordinates orders and puts plates onto trays for waitstaff.

Franchise food up to the early 80s was Michelin starred food compared to the slop they have now. It was exactly how you describe it, fresh food that typically has to be sourced from local suppliers. I think the most Taco Bell, for instance, provided their franchisees was the spice packets. Pizza Hut made their dough fresh. The supply integration kept the cost down, but it also made the food worse.

    All Eyes on Chişinău

Most of Moldova's regions voted against the prospect of joining the EU in a referendum, although the overall result is that supporters of European integration currently have a slight advantage.

Based on the results of counting 99.46% of votes, 50.41% of voters voted for the inclusion of the European integration course in the Constitution, while 49.59% voted against. That is, the last 0.54% of votes could equalize the results or even bring opponents of joining the EU ahead by a small margin.

However, in the breakdown by regions, opponents of European integration have a sharp lead - 26 districts against 9. The highest result against is in Gagauzia (94.84%).

Moldova is allowing the diaspora to vote and reportedly (Two Majors et al) those are the votes swaying the tally towards the “Yes” outcome. Puppet state follows the instructions of the hand up its ass.

State of the race: "Kamala Harris and Donald J. Trump are essentially tied—with neither candidate ahead by even a single point—in The New York Times's polling average of five critical battleground states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin and North Carolina," reports Times analyst Nate Cohn.

electionbettingodds.com has Trump beating Kamala now by more than he was beating Biden the day before the debate. The EC split is 312-226 in his favor.

    1. Michael Ejercito   9 months ago

I wonder how they are tied in the polls if Trump gained ground among several Democratic constituencies as compared to 2020, and actually has the support of an overwhelming majority of Teamsters voters (who voted for FJB in 2020 with a majority)

      1. Gaear Grimsrud   9 months ago

Yeah these polls don't make any sense. Democrats are losing ground with pretty much all of their reliable constituencies but still tied? It must be the Liz Cheney effect.

        1. Red Rocks White Privilege   9 months ago

It must be the Liz Cheney effect.

I wouldn’t discount the effect of the neocons realigning with the Democrats. Most of these are very connected people who can influence the Bush crowd with the dumb argument that Kamala is “within the window of normal” and “there will be a GOP Congress to oppose her, whereas Trump won’t have any restraints” (fuckin’ LOL at that stupid claim) as opposed to being a ditzy red diaper baby that no one actually liked until about three months ago.

The problem for the Harris campaign is that she’s simply a shitty candidate for a national office, which is why the Regime’s thumb has to be heavily weighed on the scale for her. The political divide between men and women has been growing since Trump came in office, and it’s something that apparently is crossing racial lines at this point due to it being acceptable now to dunk on girlboss culture. If they hadn’t latched her on to Biden like a parasite on a dying host, she’d still be toiling in obscurity in the Senate.

        2. mad.casual   9 months ago

It's actually an interesting note with regard to fraud. Not that there's a mountain of sociological data to indicate things one way or the other, but if you frame it differently... interesting.

That is, imagine if, in Putin's Russia, an undergound gambling site sprang up indicating 49/51 against Putin but the vote came out 98/2 in his favor. The 98/2 alone is pretty indicative of fraud, but the fact that so many citizens would actually risk so much in such contradiction to the administration and (captured) media narrative speaks volumes.

Can a 6 year old get an erection?

            1. soldiermedic76   9 months ago

Please don't take this as anything but information, but yes, pre-pubescent males are capable of becoming erect, however, it is rarely (as in never) a sign of arousal but other stimulation, e.g. full bladder, cold, etc. Yes this does include tactile stimulation, but this is purely an autonomic response and not the sign of sexual stimulation. Also, even in adults, an erect penis is not necessarily the result of sexual stimulation, or a sign of consent for sexual activity, because an erection is purely an autonomic response. Masturbatory activities in pre-pubescent children is generally agreed to be the result of a self calming reflex (it does release some oxytocin, which is a calming hormone, even without an orgasm), and not a sexual act per most research. So the answer is yes, a pre-pubescent boy can get an erection but it isn't a sexual thing. Hell, a lot of male babies are actually born with an erection, I've assisted in 200 deliveries and the vast majority of male infants had an erection at birth. It should be noted that the clitoris also can become erect in a pre-pubescent female, but it's much less noticeable.

Anyone saying different misunderstands the complexity of human sexuality or is deliberately lying. Or pedophiles lying to themselves that their victims actually like it.

I already stated it's not a sexual act, it's self soothing, see above. It's not about sexual pleasure, and it tends to be of very short duration. Moron, read my response above. It's not a sexual act when pre-pubescent children do it, because they can't achieve orgasm moron.

                    1. mtrueman   9 months ago

"I already stated it’s not a sexual act, it’s self soothing,"

Masturbation is pleasurably manipulating the sexual organs. That makes it a sexual act, doesn't it? The sexual nature of the act is precisely why prudes like Mother's Lament get hysterical about the subject.

                    2. soldiermedic76   9 months ago

And the fact that you think it's a sexual act despite the experts almost universally agreeing it isn't, and biology also working against it being an act of sexual pleasure, says a lot about you.

                    3. soldiermedic76   9 months ago

It isn't masturbating as in a post pubescent individual, it is manipulation of the sexual organ, but it's not masturbating for sexual pleasure or release, because that isn't possible in pre-pubescent children. The act of manipulating their genitals is self soothing, it has a very different goal, and generally it is for very short durations, e.g. a couple seconds. Just because they touch their genitals doesn't mean they are masturbating for sexual pleasure. Read the fucking science on it moron, I've already explained this. You really are a pedophile. It isn't about anyone being a prude, it's about the fucking science, which says it isn't a sexual act in pre-pubescent children. Only those with pedophilic tendencies argue otherwise. In fact, in the scientific literature it is either referred to as masturbatory behavior or simply genital stimulation to differentiate it from true masturbation.

                    4. mtrueman   9 months ago

Also, the technique generally used, especially in pre-pubescent males is quite different than post pubescent masturbation, or true masturbation. It’s quite often just light touching, without a rhythmic motion. There is absolutely nothing about it being sexual. In fact, every single reputable parenting book, those written by pediatricians or pediatric psychiatrist/psychologist all emphasize that it isn't about sexual pleasure or gratification that it is about self soothing and is not true masturbation. You’re wrong, trolling or a pedophile.

                    6. mtrueman   9 months ago

"In fact, in the scientific literature it is either referred to as masturbatory behavior or simply genital stimulation to differentiate it from true masturbation."

Now you are simply quibbling. You admit that prepubescent children touch their genitals for pleasure. Sure it's masturbation but it's not 'true masturbation.' Give me a break!

By the way, while we're on this fascinating topic, I read the recent bio, the Lives of John Lennon which states that Lennon masturbated his manager Brian Epstein while on vacation in Spain just before they hit the big time, according to Lennon's best friend and confidante Pete Shotten. Years later Lennon took up with David Bowie as well.

There's really nothing complex about you admitting you like to think about little kids masturbating, no matter what kind of scientific gloss that deviants like Kinsey or Money provided to justify your fetish.

Trump ain’t losing PA. Not happening. That MCDs he was at yesterday is in deep democrat territory. Blue as CA.

Yet they were lining the streets just to engage the motorcade- on a Sunday with an eagles game ongoing. Four, five deep they were just to catch a glimpse of Trump or to get in a brief wave or a distant shout. Anything for a moment in the political sun.

It’s not normal these crowds and the energy he’s producing. This is something more than MAGA unleashed or enthusiasm from the tribe. We’re witnessing silent majority stuff. It’s becoming Reaganesque, and Kamala is going to get smoked.

    Book it.

Rubber-necking a train wreck, or witnessing history in the making?
In sixty years observing and participating in politics, I've never seen such hate and vitriol directed by voters at one candidate or the other. I don't know how the pollsters can cut through the mutual hatred, the lies, the indignities, and the refusal to see the terrible flaws in both candidates. America will survive, of course, but a least half the country is going to wish it hadn't.

Absent the PA Supreme Court changing the rules for counting at the 11th hour, I agree. In the last 2 weeks, PA moved from 'tied' to Pres Trump. Many factors at play on why I believe that PA moved.

All I will say is that the more Kamala showed up in PA to make her pitch, the tighter the race got, and now it is slipping away, bit by bit.

Note to candidates for 2028. Since there will be an air war (incessant political commercials) in 10 battleground states, use humor and make a thematic series of short commercials. The endless repetition is a huge negative.

It amazes me how much the polling is indicating one thing but the media keeps reporting it either as tied or Harris is still going to win. And it saddens me that Liz is buying into it. BTW, senate polls are definitely breaking the Republican way to in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Casey is running scared in PA. Tester is toast in Montana, Brown is pulling away in Florida and Cruz is starting to pull away in Texas (remember two weeks ago or was it last week, When Liz reported Cruz and Brown were in trouble?).

Are you talking about the *Biden-Harris* administration? The one that Harris is VP of? The one that Biden was insistent that she would be such an integral part of that *he himself* labeled it the Biden-Harris administration?

Is that the 'outgoing administration, with which Harris is associated'?

Similarly dehumanizing is a prelude to violence because it take human qualities away from political foes by equating them with something like vermin, as opposed to mocking someone by comparing them to a common pet.

Israel targeted branches of Al Qard Al Hassan Association—a bank-like institution [though technically a charity]

This is identical to how they ‘targeted’ ‘Hamas’ in Gaza. There are no ‘branches’ of this ‘bank-like institution’. If anything it is more akin to customers/accounts of a blockchain like crypto. A peer-to-peer money transfer that is used by Lebanese citizens overseas (often in Africa) to transfer money back home to their family. There is nothing ‘Hezbollah’ about it other than to the degree that Lebanese who may be vaguely ‘associated’ with Hezbollah (via the same sort of AI ‘association’ that Big Tech uses to ensure that founders are DEI compliant) are more inclined to use this than they are to transfer money via Citibank.

Now Israel is going to use whatever ‘features’ they/someone has gathered about someone who may once have been both Hezbollah and a customer – in order to train the AI model to create a giant kill list. Centered on the HOMES of those who most closely resemble DEI/Lebanese/Vikings. Those homes will be destroyed – with presumably an ok collateral kill tolerance of 20+ civilians – and they will each be called ‘branches’ of a ‘Hezbollah’ ‘bank-like institution/HQ/command center’.

In Gaza’s case – with low-level ‘Hamas’ ‘names’ -, they created AI kill lists with an ‘acceptable’ civilian/collateral death toll of roughly 700,000. Who knows what they will ‘accept’ for the new Lebanon kill lists. A higher population but with lower ethnic cleansing goals.

Fortunately – we can always be certain that the pro-genocide shitrags here at Reason and in the commentariat will wax all giddy about how targeted this all is. And how anti-semitic and Luddite anyone who might question such a technologically glorious means of murderdeathkill.

You people are so fucking tribal about everything. It is why you are certain about stuff that just ain't true at all.

This war ceased to have anything to do with hostages on Oct 7 when the IDF invoked the Hannibal doctrine and killed maybe 150 or so hostages before they were taken into Gaza. You have no concept what that sentence even means because your tribalism requires that you only accept narratives/propaganda that supports the tribe you support. You have no concept of understanding for comprehension.

Further - here's something cryptic. The pressure to end this war will not really take until Oct 27 2026. That date is why this war is continuing. And I'm certain you have no clue what that means either.

The Middle-Class Women Who Are Tripping Balls
Across America, women are using hallucinogens to improve their marriages and mental health. Meet the ‘mushroom mommies.’

Wait a minute... hold on a second. Wait... hold it right there. Hold it right... there...

So the popular theme that women needed [Valium] to deaden the drudgery of housewifery and put themselves into a drug-induced trance, just so they could survive their oppressive Madison Ave. husbands and the patriarchy is now a good thing?

    1. Mike Parsons   9 months ago

Turns out no matter what situation you put them in, they still have a tendency toward mental health issues and the need to cope through [valium, wine, drugs]

But now that they are 60% of college grads, are girl bossing their way through the work force, and have achieved the ultimate status of 6 figures + 6 cats....oops they are still completely miserable and need to cope with wine, valium, and drugs. But its good now, because empowerment

  40. mtrueman   9 months ago

If the polling shows the race is so close, voting may only be half the key to winning the election. The other half will be the flip side, suppressing the vote of the opposition. I expect this will become more apparent in the days before the election. I saw this in Cambodia, where the ruling party offered voters 'a beer and a bullet,' a glass of beer with a bullet sitting at the bottom of the glass. We'll also see voter intimidation, intimidation of vote counters and scrutineers and other officials, also spreading misinformation about time, place and eligibility, bomb threats, and so on.

    1. Mike Parsons   9 months ago

"Is the voter suppression here with us in the room now?"

Ive heard nothing but "voter suppression!" in my state even before voting started (AKA, them giving up the cope and playbook preemptively, as you illustrate with your normal level of NPC leftist tokenism). Facts on the ground: We already shattered early voting records, and still have tons of full days of early voting at numerous locations in every county, oh and btw, no excuse mail in voting.

Your cope is a clear sign you can see what is about to happen.

Suppressing the 3AM mail-in ballot dumps? Glad you are safeguarding our precious democracy

            "Suppressing the 3AM mail-in ballot dumps? "

Suppressing the vote means intimidating, threatening voters of the opposition. It can also mean enacting legislation to make it illegal to give water or comfort to those in line to vote, or anything that makes the process more inconvenient. Use your imagination. The criminalization of water giving is pure genius. Suppressing the vote has not traditionally been about intimidating or threatening the officials counting or handling the votes once they've been cast. This seems to be a new thing and again points to the decreasing importance of voting versus gaming the system to discourage opposition participation.

If the polling shows the race is so close, voting may only be half the key to winning the election.

Everyone? Look at this post. This guy gets it.

Most here understand that the US has become a banana republic. They just don't fully appreciate how elections are won and lost in such places.

there's not such thing as "voter suppression". It's a made-up fantasy by 60's progressives.

However , there is such thing as "voter manufacture" which is what dems do today in every state that doestn require voter id.

      1. I, Woodchipper   9 months ago

see "blacks are too dumb to get an ID".
This is a made up fantasy from 60's proggies who know what they're doing.

Making voters jump through hoops and face bureaucratic obstacles at the voting booth is indeed a way to suppress the vote. 'How many bubbles in a bar of soap' was the question asked of Jim Crow era blacks who showed up at the polls. I suspect that this time around more violence will be involved. Maybe some shooting, bomb threats and so on. It's all par for the course in any banana republic.

"there’s not such thing as “voter suppression”

Have you checked with Democrats? The whole of Jim Crow was about suppressing and intimidating voters. You seriously think it doesn't happen in a close race? If you concede Democrats manufacture votes, why wouldn't they suppress it as well?

should non-citizens be allowed to vote on how to wield the power of the federal government against me?

if not, how do you stop that?

My first thought is you make people provide an ID and proof of citizenship to vote. what is your solution?

          1. mtrueman   9 months ago

You should know that citizens aren't trusted with electing the president. That task is reserved for a group of non elected political insiders, the electoral college. If you want to live in a country where citizens elect their leaders themselves, try Canada, France or Mexico.

"My first thought is you make people provide an ID and proof of citizenship to vote."

If it were only so easy. It would require a vast bureaucracy that I mentioned, at least one public servant per voting station, trained in recognizing valid ID from the entire country, and able to discern fake documents from real ones. It's a time consuming hoop jumping exercise, and I doubt it would be effective in preventing non citizens from voting. It's a good way to suppress the vote, as it demands more time and effort from everyone even though they have better, more pressing things to do like earning a living.
