Hamas' Next-Level Brutality
Plus: Trump hush money case, assisted suicide prosecution, Tucker Carlson's Holocaust-denialist historian, and more...

Six dead and new instructions to kill: Last week, the terrorist group Hamas killed six of the remaining 100 hostages taken on October 7, including one American citizen, 23-year-old Hersh Goldberg-Polin, whose parents spoke at the Democratic National Convention just two weeks ago.
As funerals were held for the hostages, Hamas started releasing videos taken of the hostages just before their deaths. The terrorist group also spread word that, if Israeli troops close in, all Hamas militants have been given "new instructions" to kill remaining hostages immediately.
Within Israel, people took to the streets voicing anger at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has remained beholden to his far-right flank, which aims to see Hamas fully wiped out. In contrast, moderates support a ceasefire and advocate for ending the war without Hamas' eradication.
But even those ceasefire negotiations are complicated and have become more fraught. The most recent round, which had looked so close to getting across the finish line that the U.S. sent Secretary of State Antony Blinken over to seal the deal, ultimately did not work out because Israel wanted to maintain a military presence at the Philadelphi Corridor, a narrow strip of land between Egypt and the Gaza Strip where arms are frequently smuggled in.
Following the brutal slaughter of six hostages, it will be even less likely that both parties will agree to a deal. "It does not look good," one Israeli official briefed on ceasefire negotiations told Politico. "We are still working at it, but the hostages being killed changed everything."
"Hamas has taken the hostage issue out of the equation. It knows that this current Israeli administration is not interested in any kind of hostage release deal," Tahani Mustafa of Crisis Group, a Brussels-based think tank, tells CNN. "I don't think they consider them as substantial playing cards any longer."
Trump's bid to move hush-money case to federal court slapped down: At the end of May, Judge Juan Merchan declared former President Donald Trump guilty of all 34 counts of business-record falsification, for concealing hush-money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels following a tryst. This month, Trump will be sentenced, though his lawyers are looking to move that date until after the presidential election, in which Trump is running again.
In the meantime, Trump has attempted to move jurisdiction of the case from New York state courts to federal court, arguing Merchan was biased against him due at least in part to the fact that Merchan's family members have given money to Democrats, including Trump's presidential-race opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.
This did not succeed and the case will remain with Merchan, who is expected to hand down a lighter sentence than the possible maximum of four years in prison.
"It would be highly improper for this Court to evaluate issues of bias, unfairness or error in the state trial," federal Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein wrote. "Those are issues for the state appellate courts." (Full text here.)
Scenes from New York: In an assisted suicide prosecution out of upstate New York, a doctor who facilitated a woman's death will receive five years' probation for his actions.
The woman, 59-year-old Doreen Brodhead, probably would not have qualified for assisted suicide programs even if New York were a state where such programs were legal; she had reportedly suffered 40 years' worth of chronic back and neck pain but did not have a terminal illness.

- In France, a woman named Gisèle Pélicot has deliberately waived her right to anonymity to face those who assaulted her. Her husband, Dominique Pélicot, stands accused of drugging his wife and recruiting more than 70 men to rape her. "Dominique Pélicot's activity came under scrutiny in 2020, after three women reported him for allegedly trying to film under their skirts, according to prosecutors," reports The Washington Post. "Police arrested him and seized his technological devices, where they found hundreds of photos and videos allegedly showing his wife being sexually assaulted by multiple men." The case is galvanizing France's feminist movement, which is lobbying for changes to the way the country defines consent.
- "Russia bombarded a swath of Ukraine early Wednesday, killing at least seven people in the western city of Lviv, local Ukrainian officials said, a day after a ballistic missile attack in the eastern city of Poltava left dozens of people dead," reports The New York Times.

... Hamas militants have been given "new instructions" to kill remaining hostages immediately.
Don't dare call it hostage genocide.
As long as they're mostly peaceful executions by beheading then Hamas is all good.
94% of the hostages remained alive. Better than the 93% of peaceful BLM riots.
Introduce Rafah to the B61.
Refuted.
Whoops. Not Misek.
No, the Tucker Carlson bit is for Misek.
The problem is they're blatantly lying about what he said.
He didn't deny the Holocaust and didn't minimize it, and it the clip that they are trying to misrepresent as talking about the Jews, he was talking about Russian POWs which was absolutely correct. They didn't have POW camps so they shot them on mass.
The establishment politruks pushing the anti-semitic angle on the interview are as honest as Jeff and Shrike and we should always remember this.
Yeah I can't get the audio but the quote doesn't read like holocaust denial to me. I suspected this is bullshit and thanks to your explanation of the actual context, I guess I was correct. I have to say I'm increasingly disappointed in Liz. If you want to trash Tucker and Vance at least get your facts straight. Apparently she can't be bothered.
“I’m increasingly disappointed in Liz.”
She’s a good girl, but she’s a freshwater fish swimming in a very salty sea, and if you don’t end up adapting then you have to leave or die.
She’s got some blind spots, to be sure.
I like Ms Wolfe, and this reporting is really even handed, but I still hate it when this passive voice creeps in, especially when we talk about Hamas.
Hamas leaders say they have ordered militants to kill remaining hostages.
As I noted last week, this passive voice, treating Hamas like some sort of wild beast that just does stuff rather than having agency, is half the reason these battles drag out so long. When you don't hold one side accountable for war crimes, they are more likely to commit them. And the other side is less likely to listen to you trying to hold themselves accountable.
all passive all the time. shoot the writing professor and spaghetti-whip at least one editor. they have editors here, yo?
The Western Left doesn't just give Hamas a pass for war crimes and targeting civilians, they either put culpability for the actions of Hamas, Hezbollah, PIJ, and other groups onto Israel or they insist that any kind of atrocities committed by Arabs are entirely justified as "violent resistance to occupation".
Nobody ever has to address the question of why, if the point is to "decolonize Palestine", then why does nobody use a non-colonial name for "Palestine"? If the point is to return the land to its "indigenous" people, then why use a name for the region which was invented by Roman occupiers? If the Arabs are the "indigenous" people of the region, why does even their own account of history admit that their ancestors mostly moved into the area around 500 years after the name "Palestine" was invented to replace the previous (Roman) name of "Judea"? If the Arabs are liberating land where they are the "indigenous" people, then why do they never refer to the area by an Arabic (or Aramaic, since the area was populated when that language was still spoken widely) name instead of by a name invented by a Roman emperor which makes reference to a tribe of ethnic Greeks who came from Crete and occupied the land before the creation of the Roman Empire?
Jews represent white supremacy. Palestine represents people of color.
For many it's that simple. Especially for the young folk who think identity is everything.

... Merchan was biased against him due at least in part to the fact that Merchan's family members have given money to Democrats, including Trump's presidential-race opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Bias against Blue America's literal Hitler is within judicial bounds.
Some would call it democracy.
So no extremism possible?
Trumps team likely used the wrong argument. Strangely the federal judge ruled a few months back regarding immunity claims saying he would wait until the USSC weighed in, but this time also dismissed any immunity concerns without much judgement on it.
Seems like the judge is taking the position that the state courts must resolve bias issues first. And since the state court has not ruled on immunity issues they don't have jurisdiction on errors. State trials get moved to federal court all the time. If they wanted it he could have written an order to make it happen. They don't want it. Don't know why Liz thought this was worth posting. It's not particularly consequential or unexpected.
This is why one lawyer was pushing Trumps team to use basically a restraining order instead of the legal bias arguments.
Isn't the NY State Appellate Court the one that's now so "diverse" that there was an article about "making history" with every Judge on the Court now being a Black Woman (and pretty much all hard-left ideologues/Dem Party loyalists according to other analyses of their histories on the bench)?
If people thought that the trial judge, who allowed extended testimony by Daniels about the sexual relationship which had no bearing on the issue of trump's business records but prohibited the defense from calling an expert witness on the topic of campaign finance law and enforcement precedents (who reportedly would have testified that the FEC has a history of not considering "hush money" payments as "campaign expenses") was biased in conducting the trial, the State Appeals court in NY looks ready to make him look like Solomon by copmarison.
"Those are issues for the state appellate courts."
State's rights to be corrupt FTW.
Russia bombarded a swath of Ukraine early Wednesday...
BOMBARDED THEM WITH WHAT?
Mostly peaceful weather balloons?
Dodge balls?
North Korean-style poop balloons?
Love.
"of cource that's a stupid take from a guest on tucker Carlson, we all know that the nazis didn't kill any prisoners"
-meisk very soon
Exactly! The just ended up dead!
Some people did some things.
Why do so many people blame Israel for not negotiating with Hamas? It takes two to negotiate, and Hamas has shown repeatedly that they do not want to negotiate, and they do not honor what other parties think they agreed to.
And why does anyone think any of the hostages will be recovered alive? Great if some are, and a few have been, but again, this is Hamas, and they have no interest in the well-being of their hostages.
There are an awful lot of damned fools in this world.
Acceding to Hamas’ demands to get hostages back only ensures hundreds of more hostages will be taken later
It does, and people used to know that. But what with Queers For Palestine on one side and "Germany didn't start WW I or WW II" Mizek on the other, there's just too many loons.
politics is like a clock with the main democrats at 9 and the main republicans at 3 while those in the middle are at 12 and all the extremest like Queers for palistine and Mizek are at 6 and they sometimes cross over they belong to no party. I hate to say it though the democrats of late are pretty much full on socialist so they are approaching 6 and Trump is nearist to 12 except for all the TDS the left and RINOs would recognize that
I'd put the Democrats around 5, and Trump swinging between 2 and 4, with occasional temporary lurches to 1 and 5. Some of the idiots claiming to be conservative bounce all over the dial. All the idiots claiming to be Progressive are solid 5s.
I said this during the terrible take that Petti had back during the DNC. The way the left treats Hamas is insulting. They treat Israel and the US as the only parties in the Middle East with agency or the capacity to adapt their behavior. Hamas is treated as a wild beast, and the Palestinians in general as a force of nature that just happens.

This always aligns with the prog orthodoxy of victim classes. No agency needed.
"ending the war without Hamas' eradication."
Something about eating the cake and having it too.
In Palestine the cake eats you.
More like explodes and "accidentally" takes out the wedding party.
"...In contrast, moderates support a ceasefire and advocate for ending the war without Hamas' eradication..."
Ever heard of Chamberlain and "peace in our time!"? These folks are idiots.
Appeasers gonna appease.
Quislings gonna quisling.
But one hostage now is worth ten in the future!
Jeffsarcs immigration policy. Apparently no violations of the NAP and all profit.

And of course the economics.
Census SIPP data from 2022 indicates that around 59% of non-citizen households in the US use one or more welfare programs, compared to 39% of US-born households. The establishment media and Democrats will often try to dilute welfare stats by citing legal migrant numbers instead of illegal migrant numbers.
Around 47% of illegal migrants to the US never completed high school (as opposed to 8% of US-born citizens).
It is estimated that illegals cost US taxpayers at least $150 billion in public services (officially) each year while paying only $25 billion in taxes. While some economists cite a potential $324 billion in GDP gain from migrant workers, this almost all comes from wages which illegals send to their families outside the US.

Ha!
Great punchline. "...Either that or you just live in Chicago!"
Actual headline today from a real "media" source (Denver Post):
Frenzy over Venezuelan gang in Aurora reaches crescendo, fueled by conflicting information and politics
I mentioned this to my family in Colorado and they had no idea this was happening. When they looked it up in the local news, they told me "Oh yeah this is all overblown, the mayor and aurora police say it is under control." Lol.
Just another day in Aurora.
BTW, I generally admire Mayor Mike Coffman.
Migrants flooding NYC’s justice system — making up ‘75% of arrests in Midtown’ — as ‘pathetic’ sanctuary city laws handcuff cops
The feature, not a bug. Just one of the many necessary steps to Davos utopia.
Shut up and eat your bugs, and be happy about it.
What will reason do:
A. Ignore immigrant gangs taking over apartment complexs
B. Have Fiona write a "No, Immigrants Aren't Taking Over Apartment Complexes" article.
93% of apartments are not taken over, so it is a rare issue.
Mostly peaceful apartment complex takeovers.
It’s difficult to describe how much I hate the current trend of “No comma blank blank isn’t happening” articles. It has the feel of the "manatee joke" thing from south park.
Along with "What you need to know about ______" articles, often found in now defunct outlets like Slate and Vice. As Rogan put it. "most people are just surface readers" and a headline is all they need.
Paging butplug, paging butplug...
Fiona will write a “No, Immigrant Gangs Aren’t Taking Over Apartment Complexes, And It’s Good That They Are!”

But the Democrats all say it's Trump cozying up to the Chinese.
Or the Russians. It depends on what day it is.
At least it's not the Ukrainians. They can be real bastards. Ask Hunter.

Dunno, but he's being complimented if not.
With how much he doth protest, it is shrike.
I mean it was just yesterday in the maduro thread where you said it.
Okay, I went and listened to that Tucker Carlson guest because I can’t trust what other people would say about a guest on Tucker.
He’s just plain wrong. He IS being a Nazi apologist. I’m completely open to criticism of Churchill who was an imperialist and made many errors, so say what you will about him.
This guy claims Germany went east without a plan, so they ended up with a lot of dead POWs. That’s just bullshit-dead Bolsheviks WAS the plan. Lebensraum: the Germans wanted territory to spread their own people out east, and they wanted to preserve racial purity. The idea was to cleanse the East, not enslave Slavic peoples. This guy tries to claim the dead were incidental, and cites a few Germans who were in the army but weren’t completely in bird with the genocide. But that doesn’t make it not genocide by design.
Tucker interviewed the equivalent of Misek.
Two problems:
First did Tucker push back on this or probe it vs just accepting the narrative provided? The point of these tweets is to paint Tucker as the sympathizer.
Second, the tweets make it appear like they're talking WWII in general so the obvious inference is the Jewish concentration camps being an accident and not the specific campaign POWs. Not that the distinction makes either better or the point more valid but it is important to criticize what is said and not a strawman, especially here.
In this context, he was talking about the Soviet POWs. Which is a distinction without a difference, they were systematically killed as a strategy because the Nazis were claiming land in the east to spread their pure Aryan blood into. The concentration camps existed because they would not allow to Aryans co-exist with “inferior” peoples, so the Soviet peoples they were capturing were being denied food as part of the grand master plan.
Tucker did not push back on this point.
In the end, they actually had to reverse this policy. The war in the East lasted longer than Hitler had planned for-Nazi Leadership believed the USSR would collapse by the end of 1942 at the latest-and there was a labor shortage in Germany, so they actually started feeding some of the Slavs they’d previously starved (showing it was at least feasible) and shipping them home to use as labor. Ironically, this dramatically increased the post-war Slavic population of Germany, resulting in increasing the ethnic impurity that the Nazis were trying to cleanse.
So for all this guy claims that he’s not a Nazi apologist, he’s actually doing apologia for the Nazis by not understanding their plan for Barbarossa.
“In this context, he was talking about the Soviet POWs. Which is a distinction without a difference”
Nonononononononono, there is very much a difference. The attack on Russia was about corporeal aims like land and oil. Wiping out the Slavs had motives that gave temporal rewards.
The Holocaust on the other hand had no rewards. It wiped out some of the best German scientists, engineers and thinkers. It was done purely out of hate. And it wasn’t done on the battlefield either. It was done in an industrial, passionless, scientific manner.
It's all done in the name of ethnic purity, is my point. The reason they murdered Jews is the reason they murdered Soviet POWs. Neither one of those happened accidentally or as a mere consequence of war. The point of the war WAS to kill populations in the east, not some big "oops, we didn't think about how to deal with prisoners."
The reason they murdered Jews is most definitely not the reason they murdered Soviet POWs. That's just flat out wrong.
With the Slavs it was language and culture rather than race that bothered the Nazis. They "Germanized" hundreds of thousands of Slavic children taking them away from their parents. They thought most Slavs had their blood tainted by the Mongols, but still regard many as descendants of the Corded Ware/Indo Euopean peoples like the Ukrainians, or the Croats who they said were "descendants of the ancient Goths".
Thanks for the report, I don't have the patience for that crap.
One of my sneers at German efficiency is the idiocy of their invasion of the USSR and all Hitler's war plans. The primary goal of any war should be to win, and wasting resources on exterminating your own citizens who were loyal WW I veterans, for instance, does not help. Wasting resources on exterminating Ukrainian partisans who welcomed the Germans as liberators does not help.
And now this clown claims it was all unintended? He's as dumb as Misek claiming Germany didn't start either world war. Those two ought to get together and beat each other to death the Nazi way and prove how peaceful Nazism was.
There might have been a path to victory over USSR for Germany if the had made better relations with the local populations and not made an existential war between Nazism and Communism, but that would have required them to abandon much of Nazi ideology to do so. They started the war against the USSR because they were Nazis and they lost it because they were Nazis.
When you read about the battle of Leningrad, you see just how out of their minds they were. The goal was to completely raze a city of 3 Million people to the ground. No survivors. Eradication of all life.
This was a deliberate decision because they felt occupying Leningrad would be more difficult than just wiping it clean. And so, instead of advancing in, taking command of its government and occupying it as they were occupying Paris, they had to waste almost two years trying to reduce the entire place to rubble.
Well keep in mind, Phillipe Petain declared Paris an “open city” and declined to defend it. He didn’t want the capital turned into a ruin. The Germans rolled into an undefended city and occupied it. There was essentially no option like that available to the Soviets.
Yeah, the fact that the name of the city alone was cause for Hitler to make a special project out of Leningrad-Stalingrad is well-documented.
Breaking Molotov-Ribbentrop was one of the stupidest strategic errors in military history. Germany’s history going back to the Prussian era is littered with examples showing that it can only win multiple front wars if it brings the conflict to a swift end. Invading Russia was the opposite of that, and Hitler compounded it by going after Stalingrad and Leningrad. The idiot bled his military white and made them less capable of confronting the eventual allied invasion in the west and Africa.
A smart leader would have held off on any action against the Soviet Union, not wasted resources trying to bomb England into submission, and built up additional support in the conquered nations after France fell. Just own goal after own goal that ultimately led to Germany’s defeat and all-out cultural neutering/self-mortification that takes place there to this day.
It is also noteworthy that reports of "German efficiency" were quite puffed up with propaganda. There is ample research to show that much of Germany's supposed productivity was in shambles, as the government increasingly "yanked the chain" moving production around on the whims of crazy megalomaniacs. Yes, they produced them some tanks, but at the same time, civilian production was dropping through the floor. Germany was in real danger of collapsing as all their production went to military, while basic food and medicine was not being produced.
Much of the famed german efficiency was convenient propaganda from Hitler, as well as liberals in the west who were craving their own statist command and control over private industry, and saw Germany's model (absent the whole racial purity thing) as a feature, not a bug.
Right. Central control states are notoriously inefficient. German bureaucracy was a nightmare, and their records were actually shoddy.
They were socialists, with all the typical “efficiency” you’d predict in any socialist system.
There’s a very interesting book, The Vampire Economy, published (apparently, there are some confusing dates) one week after invading Poland, about how the Nazis screwed up the German economy. Political commissars installed in all businesses who knew jack shit about anything related to businesses, idiotic price controls, a near-total ban on all exports and imports, you just shake your head page after page and wonder how Hitler ever conquered anything.
The author is described as a German Communist who respected private property, whatever that means; there were a lot of “communists” who were mostly just anti-Nazi and anti-cronies.
Probably available as a free e-book somewhere, but it was cheap and a fascinating read.
The Germans did have a plan. It just was not a good or adequate plan because Getman foreign intelligence was terrible, and Hitler was not a good strategist. They consistently underestimated Red Army strength, not unoften by orders of magnitude. They thought they had a good plan, they were just wrong.
Their plan was to take over regions of Europe then claim they wanted peace and the war was done. Over and over. This is what caused Chamberlaign to agree during the Munich Accords. After that Germany takes Poland and once again claims they just want peace. They were using cease fire agreements to reload and restock. A strategy groups like Hamas use now.
I was specifically referring to the Barbarossa plan against the USSR, not their overall strategy.
Yeah. The Russia campaign was terrible.
Well to be fair, Hitler had no ambitions for going west. He always wanted to go east, through Poland, and into the Soviet Union. He would have been happy to negotiate a peace with the Western Allies in 1939 or early 1940 that allowed him to keep Poland.
But that’s wasn’t really an option. You don’t let an aggressive neighboring country simply expand their way into becoming a superpower. Your own security demands it, and after capitulating so many times, they couldn’t abandon Poland and write off Germany again. It was no longer politically feasible.
There’s an alternate history in which Neville Chamberland didn’t negotiate the Munich agreements, Germany had to invade Czechoslovakia through the heavily fortified Sudentenland before Germany was fully mobilized, and Hitler ended up being deposed or killed by the Wehrmacht-they were actively making plans that they do so, once hostilities with Czechoslovakia commenced. Hitler was greatly bolstered, politically, by the Munich agreement, and it convinced some of his doubters that he was going to make everything work.
“He always wanted to go east, through Poland, and into the Soviet Union.”
This is mostly irrelevant to the broader discussion here, but the Nazi’s believed that the German’s were heirs to the Corded Ware culture, (part of the Corded Ware/Yamnaya horizon), who were rightly believed to be the original proto-Indo-Europeans.
Poland and the Pontic Steppe in the Ukraine was indeed core Yamnaya/Corded Ware territory, but the Germans weren’t the sole heirs, nor were they the most “pure”. All the Northern Europeans were their descendants and DNA testing shows that it turns out the Slavs actually have slightly more Corded Ware ancestry than German speakers. Especially those in the South (like Austria).
But anyway, one of the excuses to seize Poland and what is now the Ukraine, was regaining the “homeland”.
Hitler, militarily, was an idiot.
He, however, was quite good at reading people and realizing when they would and would not fight. That he managed to get France and the UK to threaten to attack the Czechs if they dared defend themselves boggles the mind (Western powers being useless shits is not a new phenomenon).
He then bought his own hype and that, combined with hefty drug usage, took away the one thing that gave him any advantages internationally.
His military successes consisted of working with the USSR to take over Poland and whipping a France that had, for years, shown absolutely zero taste for fighting, even though they could have easily stopped Hitler before he did much of anything.
Don't overplay the degree to which Hitler was an idiot-that's another post war myth pushed by the Wehrmacht leaders trying to cover up their own incompetence. The plan for Barbarossa was subverted by some of his OKH idiots who didn't understand strategy, and sent excessive forces into Army Group Mitte to try to take Moscow. The problem is that the main objective was in the Caucasus, taking the Soviet oil fields, but army commanders seemingly didn't understand the need to acquire resources to run their tanks and aircraft while depriving those from the enemy.
People like to joke, but it's difficult to underestimate just how traumatized France was by World War I. They had absolutely no appetite anymore for any sort of military actions that didn't involve overwhelming force against native populations in the colonies. They certainly weren't psychologically fit enough to take on a peer challenger that was well-trained, well-equipped, and highly motivated to beat their ass into paste after a couple of decades of international humiliation, hyper-inflation, and economic depression.
I totally think Tucker should get shit over this, but the real damage is that he has given cover to the Hamas lovers.
We just had 6 months of Jewish Love at every university in the US. Crazies were screaming every Jewish epithet imaginable while blocking jewish students from their classes, and intimidating them off the campus. Dem leaders have been courting these anti-semite assholes the entire time, speaking with people who don't merely minimize the significance of the holocaust, but outright deny it happened. The crazy blood libel theories of these people borders on delusion, or worse.
And all Carlson has done is give people a reason to memory-hole 100% of that. Now all the lefties who have been giving a pass to the Hamas sympathizers can act as if they are tough on anti-semites because Carlson is a tone-deaf sensationalist who got out over his skis. This crank on his show was marginalized and powerless. He was given some wind in his sales by Carlson's show, but the real damage is that the Hamas-supporting organizations around the country- especially those causing real intimidation and damage today- can continue operating because every lefty jewish organization in the country would happily condemn Carlson along with the rest of the left, than continue picking fights with their own side.
Crazies were screaming every Jewish epithet imaginable while blocking jewish students from their classes, and intimidating them off the campus.
Not to mention seizing university offices, abusing janitorial staff, and then having the audacity to demand amnesty so they didn't suffer the consequences of their actions.
Don't forget precious moments under siege, like demanding special dietary meals and personal hygiene products.
I seem to recall one was complaining about not being able to maintain 6 feet of separation during their occupation of some campus building...so their health was being jeopardized and the university was literally killing them.
I haven’t seen the interview yet, so not going to comment on that. But I don’t think it’s fair to criticize Tucker and Cooper discussing WW2 for the behavior of leftists. They don’t need an excuse to move on from or ignore issues that are no longer convenient for them.
I didn't say he shouldn't have done the interview (I really don't care). But that doesn't change the impact of this situation. Go on X, and all you see are the usual lefties screaming in outrage about how horrible this is for Jews, and we always knew Tucker Carlson was a problem, and finally here is proof.
These people have been silent just as they were during the summer of love. But as soon as someone on the right screws up, it is an existential crisis that must be dealt with. As if getting their pound of Carlson's flesh will prove that they took anti-semitism seriously all along.
So he should have done the interview, but he should also get shit for it?
My position when it comes to leftists, in the media or on X, is that they’re going to do what they’re going to do regardless of what anyone else does. Tucker was a “problem” before the interview and he’ll be a problem next week regardless of what he does in between.
Should he have interviewed Putin? What about his posts appreciating the architecture of Russian train stations?
I haven't watched this interview and I probably won't. Other commenters have and make the case that this guy is a holocaust denier at worst and historically inaccurate at best. I will respect their opinions. But I don't watch a Tucker interview expecting to agree with everything the guest says or demanding that Tucker push back if I'm offended. That's not the point. Tucker's appeal is that he lets people with diverse opinions make their case. That doesn't make them right. It's up to the viewer to weigh their credibility. But Liz's knee jerk Tuckermanbad reaction is a lot more offensive to me than anything I've ever heard on a Tucker interview.
“But I don’t watch a Tucker interview expecting to agree with everything the guest says or demanding that Tucker push back if I’m offended. That’s not the point.”
Exactly.
who has remained beholden to his “far-right” flank,
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Yeah, the "kick the can caucus" is pretty f'n useless in every country.
"Let's end this war...just so ANOTHER one can occur in a little while. And it'll be Israel's fault for listening to us idiots in the first place"
Far right - adj.
1. Anyone that disagrees with marxisrs
2. Anyone that believes nations should exist
3. Anyone that thinks jews should exist
Really just anyone that the talking/writing heads at MSNBC, WaPo, NYT, CNN, etc. don't like.
It is outright insane to fucking blame Netanyahu for the deaths and not the, you know, PEOPLE WHO KILLED THEM.
Bibi has offered deals. Hamas tells them no.
He should cease offering ANY offers. Just kill the Hamas leadership after killing their families first.
And send the leftist, appeasing protestors to Gaza.
It would be quite joyous seeing Queers for Palestine actually living in Gaza for a while.
A very short while.
^+1
Perhaps with a little more effort, Israel could prevent the Gazans from throwing any more gays off of tall buildings - by completing the destruction of all multi-story buildings. But I'm sure Palestinians are creative enough to find another, more horrible, way to murder gays.
I would gladly donate to help fund their field trip to Gaza.
Have you heard of cesium-137?
It is an radioisotope of cesium which can easilty enter the human body, causing damage.
Bombs and shells used against Hamas should be packed with cesium-137.
Half-life of around 30 years, so no worries about Israeli colonizers in Gaza for a while.
NBC has a excerpt from a book about the raid on Trump’s house. Most of it is self-serving nonsense by the FBI, that doesn’t tell you that most of the boxes of files seized were just dropped off by NARA, and other important facts, but there are some interesting nuggets hidden in the poop.
Inside the bitter personal battle between top FBI and DOJ officials over Mar-a-Lago
As the meeting dragged on, the discussion grew increasingly heated. Bratt raised his voice several times. When D’Antuono asked if prosecutors now considered Trump the subject of the investigation, Bratt shot back, “What does that matter?” but didn’t answer the question.
FBI officials from the Washington field office were in open conflict with Bratt and other DOJ prosecutors.
D’Antuono, convinced that a consensual search could end the standoff, stood his ground. He believed that they could negotiate with Trump’s lawyer, Evan Corcoran, a former federal prosecutor, and reach an agreement for a voluntary search.
DOJ officials and senior FBI officials rejected the idea. They said that Trump and Corcoran had already received a subpoena and been repeatedly asked to return the documents.
D’Antuono dug in and said he would only have his agents search Mar-a-Lago if ordered to do so by his FBI superiors.
[…]
After the DOJ officials left, the FBI officials spoke alone. D’Antuono and others from the Washington field office expressed a new concern. They noted that the draft search warrant included a potential criminal charge against Trump that they did not recall seeing before: Section 2071 of Title 18.
The law made it illegal for an individual who possesses government documents to “willfully and unlawfully” conceal, remove, mutilate, obliterate, falsify, or destroy them. If a person is convicted of the charge, they shall “be disqualified from holding” any federal office.
“The barring from office charge,” D’Antuono recalled. “People saw that charge as ‘Aha, is that DOJ’s effort to get Trump?’”
Other FBI officials did not consider Bratt to be politically biased. Instead, they feared that Trump’s years of attacks were now impacting the decision-making of current FBI agents.
It was always a setup. More and more facts continue to come put this was a politically created setup. NARA being one of the main inotiators. Biden asking for specific documents to create a false need despite having copies available. Reclassifying documents declassified. NARA being sloppy in document delivery. DoJ ignoring precedent regarding the PRA. Bringing cover sheets to stage photos and releasing them to the press.
The downside to Cannon dismissing the case is that a whole lot of evidence of government malfeasance will not be entered into the record. Garland could continue the prosecution tomorrow by simply dumping Smith and appointing a US Attorney to take over. But he hasn't. And it's worth wondering why.
Has to be a judge from the same district as Cannon.
But not Cannon I guess. Not sure how judges are assigned in that district but I think the DOJ could just petition to continue the trial in Cannon's courtroom with a US Attorney. Or a different judge. Cannon didn't rule on the merits of the prosecution, only the legitimacy of the Independent Council. The DOJ has plenty of prosecutors who could step in. But instead the DOJ chose to appeal the Independent Council dismissal which guarantees that the case is dead until it reaches the Supremes years from now. The question is why and the answer is pretty obvious. The whole "Independent" Counsel was a ruse to distance Biden from the obvious fact that he was using lawfare against his political opponent.
Funny how they think the attacks on the FBI came out of thin air with no cause. It's like the documented animus of the FBI leadership against him up to having documents forged against his administration or framing him for crimes is completely outside their ability to comprehend.
"In contrast, moderates support a ceasefire and advocate for ending the war without Hamas' eradication."
Well, that worked well the last time.
Up until the invasion.
Even if they decided American foreign policy during the first half of the 1940's.
'In contrast, appeasers support a ceasefire and advocate for ending the war without Hamas’ eradication.'
Just a bit of honesty
All Israel has to do is eradicate Hamas and it’s all over. As we learned during our adventures in the Middle East, blowback is not a thing. So there’s no need to be concerned that friends and families of the tens of thousands of dead innocents might want retribution or revenge. Nope, no worries at all. They’ll just lie down and take it like good little doggies.
This entire year has been blowback at Hamas for what they did last 10/07.
The concept of blowback for the US is what leads to half-assed, schizophrenic policy which certainly solved nothing.
And there’s no moral obligation for Hamas to ensure here’s no blowback for attacking and killing civilians and taking hostages. This whole invasion of Gaza is not a different example of “blowback.”
We can’t start pretending Palestinians have agency, now, can we?
From the Palestinian point of view, 10/7 was blowback.
And from Israel's point of view their invasion of Gaza is blowback.
Now what? We have two parties that have deep disagreements with each other. One is holding civilian hostages in direct violation of international law. The other is targeting the government that committed those war crimes, and probably engaging in war crimes such as collective punishment along the way. (I note it is difficult here, because Hamas likes to use its citizens as human shields, and by international law they are guilty of the war crime if those shields are injurred.)
These are the convenient facts douchebags like sarc intentionally omit.
I didn't "intentionally omit" anything. Stop being a Jesse.
Yeah you did.
The problem sarc has when he comments like this is that almost everyone here is significantly smarter than him.
Oh. So you mentioned those items? Cite?
Blowback theory is bullshit, as has been discussed in numerous threads, including this one. Sarcasmic still believes in it as Gospel, however.
Blowback proponents see it as mono-directional, one of the many reasons it is bullshit.
It’s ok for Hamas to perpetrate one of the most disgustingly brutal massacres in history, because blowback.
It’s not ok for Israel to retaliate because they will just create more blowback. Why is their retaliation not itself acceptable as blowback? Who knows!
The entire concept is absurd and hypocritical, hence, a natural fit for people like sarc.
Blowback is real, but, surprise surprise, it has nothing to do with what sarc is talking about.
Blowback was a term coined by the CIA for unforeseen reactions to covert actions they perpetrated against other regimes. See: the coup in Iran that resulted in the Islamic Republic.
I disagree about blowback, and about the coup in Iran. AKA Operation AJAX which occurred in 1953, is supposed to somehow lead to the Khomeini revolution in 1979 (so... that's a 26 years later delayed reaction?) It's my view that Khomeini and his followers were motivated by a desire an extreme shia version of Islam. Iran's hatred for the US and Israel, and their sponsoring of Hamas, Hezb, etc is due to their rigid aherence to Islam, not because of the '53 coup.
For comparison, there was a similar coup involving the American CIA in Chile (in 1973) which empowered Pinochet. I am still waiting for the Chilean suicide bombers to come after the US as revenge...
I especially like his tens of thousands of dead innocents despite the large majority of deaths being teenage and adult soldiers of Hamas. But he believes hist citation of google.com and won't bother to look at the actual deaths. Israel uses targeted strikes against weapons location, Hamas inflates numbers, liberal media pushes numbers, sarc buys numbers without question.
I like how you make stuff up to argue against. You wouldn't be you if you didn't.
What did i make up. You didnt say 10s of thousands of innocents? Are you fucking drunk already?
You've been caught repeatedly blindly pushing the Hamas death count. You've been given links showing them to be bullshit. But your narrative is all that matters to you.
So when was the revenge by the Japanese for the bombing of Hiroshima?
When was the revenge by the Germans for the bombing of Dresden?
Riiiiiight. Because Germany and Japan are soooooo similar to Palestine. Dude, that’s just dumb.
People joined Al Qaeda in the early 2000s over how people in Palestine were being treated. Treating this like 10/7 just happened out of the blue and there's no history here is weapons-grade dishonesty.
They are all humans.
Circumstances matter.
HTML makes analogies easy.
"Treating this like
10/7the Holocaust just happened out of the blue and there’s no history here is weapons-grade dishonesty."Might make them easy. Doesn't make them intelligent.
When was the last time Israel invaded Gaza dumdum? Who broke the agreement dumdum? Which group has a martyr payment fund to fund people going in and killing civilians dumdum?
"People joined Al Qaeda in the early 2000s over how people in Palestine were being treated."
This is bullshit on stilts. People joined al quaeda and other similar groups to spread Islam by the sword, and to kill infidels. Try reading what Bin Laden and Zawahiri actually wrote, pre 9/11 if you want to understand their motivations, and not parrot NYT nonsense. OBL and Z barely even mentioned the supposed grievances of the "palestinians"

“So when was the revenge by the Japanese for the bombing of Hiroshima?”
Note that shits like sarc will always avoid this question, change the subject, call it a bad example, etc. Because they can’t answer it.
My answer is, there was no revenge and no ensuing insurgency in Japan after the A-bombs – because Japan was thoroughly and completely defeated. The Japanese were forced, both by Lemay’s bombing runs, and by the Oppenheimer’s devices, to recognize that their cause had absolutely no hope.
There weren’t decades of sham “cease-fire” agreements between the US and Japan, that Japan had no intention of holding to, and no sham “peace talks” at Oslo (with the equivalent of Bill Clinton grinning like an idiot behind Arafat and Rabin). What there was instead was unrelenting slaughter, death and destruction from the air, while the US continued to close in around mainland Japan.
The same thing could be done with Israel’s enemies. Would it look exactly like the Pacific campaign in WW2? – No.
Unfortunately it never has even been tried, because Israel has always bowed to pressure from each American administration. They have tried engaging in the same counter-insurgency / “win hearts and minds” nonsense in Gaza and the WB, that has never worked anywhere, and never will.
FOAD, asshole.
After 10/7/23 the leftist posters here (sarc and jeff at least) turned to outright evil. Before that they were pedantic hypocrites, but 10/7 pushed them to new lows.
Pretty sure they were already there, but it made them show themselves to be the slimy piles of dishonest lefty shit they are.
Sarcasmic's misek-ization is certainly complete now, if it wasn't before.
I wonder if some part of it least is simply that they imagine themselves as contrarians, so they HAVE to adopt any contrarian position. Even if it means siding with pathetic sick fucks like Hamas.
TBF, he’s said before that he would take the opposite position of certain people here because he hates them that much.
I mean that's what you and your buddies want Israel to do. Rocket attacks still occur almost daily, targeting civilian centers. But not your concern. Support the terrorists hiding behind civilians and blame Israel essentially exclusively for not lying down and taking the deaths of their citizens as a concern.
What a good little liberal.
Attack dog go whoof! Good boy.
More Hitler like dehumanizing language.
Why don't you follow your own supposed principles?
Why can't you argue against what was posted? You're a fucking propaganda buying moron.
Whoof whoof whoof!
Doubles down on being Hitler. No principles. Lol.
And apparently drunk as fuck already.
Fuck me, JesseAZ is on the right side of an argument.
Genuine props.
Stay quiet English cuck. Americans are talking.
Fortunately for us your grandmother was late to the boat.
He's as English John Wayne.
Lol.
I don't need props shrike.
"Whoof whoof whoof!"
Truly, yours is a staggering intellect.
Sarcasmic go ad hominem. How unusual.
Now the drunken parrot is going to accuse you of ad hominem.
Thank you, Neville, for your sage advice.
Now FOAD, asshole.
FALAMANDER, fuckbiscuit.
So there’s no need to be concerned that friends and families of the tens of thousands of dead innocents might want retribution or revenge.
Well, whether or not their friends and families want revenge is beside the point if they are dead too.
Kill them all then? Genocide the motherfuckers so there's nobody left to get revenge?
You sound more and more like Misek every day. Any standard free Palestine protestor. Nothing Israel is doing falls close to the level of a genocide retard. But emotive language and ignorance seems to be your forte.
Here is what saracasmic wrote.
So there’s no need to be concerned that friends and families of the tens of thousands of dead innocents might want retribution or revenge.
His idea is to kill all the families and friends too, so there is no one left to seek revenge.
No, that was your idea.
Well, whether or not their friends and families want revenge is beside the point if they are dead too.
Kill them all.
According to you, we have no choice but to do that, to prevent revenge by friends and family.
Ofg course, you have yet to explain how Germans and Japanese are different...
Explain how Germans and Japanese, neither of which had been living under and apartheid state with their land, possessions and lives being taken from them systematically for over a half a century, are different than Palestinians should be unnecessary because it’s just fucking obvious to anyone with eyes and a brain.
Their leadership told them they were being oppressed.
That was why so many of them joined fanatical death cults not so different from Hamas.
Palestinians don’t need anyone to tell them they are being oppressed. I seriously can't believe you're equating WWII to the Israel/Palestine conflict. That's the worst analogy I've seen in a very long time.
In both conflicts, there were sides whose core belief was/is Judenhass.
"Palestinians don’t need anyone to tell them they are being oppressed."
By Hamas and the PA before them? Or by Israel? You are saying they are oppressed by Israel, which is an outright lie,
miseksarcHaving the highest per capital foreign aid that allows the Palestinian leadership to steal from them is totes oppression by western governments and not Palestinian leaders themselves.
The Germans and Japanese are actually great examples. Both countries were run by dictatorial, thug governments that spent inordinate amounts of their time telling those people that they were entitled to someone else's property, rather than improving their lot within their means.
Whether you think the war over Israel was justified or not, the fact is that Israel captured that land in battle- a battle it did not initiate and that would have resulted in their anhialation at the hands of Palestinians and their allies in bordering countries had Israel lost. That land was won for Israel in exactly the same manner it was won by ostensible "Palestinians", and so both parties have the same claim on it.
Any argument you might use to say that the Israelis have no moral right to their land would 100% apply to the Palestinians and result in them losing any similar claim. And until the international community chooses to hold both parties to a basic moral standard, this conflict will continue.
Palestinians committed a war crime and captured hundreds of civilians in a war crime. Until that ends, Palestinians are in exactly the same moral standing as you seem to hold Israel.
I think they’re terrible examples. Japan and Germany were established, recognized nations with a long history that drafted their citizens to fight in an international war. Palestine is not a nation state, does not have an internationally recognized government, has no autonomy or sovereignty, and has been systematically shit on for over half a century.
Before the resident idiots claim I hate Israel and am rooting for Hamas, I’m simply saying that there’s two sides to the story.
My original point was that, as long as Palestinians are kept in an apartheid state with no ability to improve their situation, eradicating Hamas won’t solve a thing. Especially because Israel is creating new future fighters with every family they destroy.
“has been systematically shit on for over half a century.”
“Palestinians are kept in an apartheid state with no ability to improve their situation”
These are outright lies, from a Hamas supporting ignoramus.
Read the Hamas founding charter, ass-hat.
"These are outright lies"
B-b-but CNN said...
Apartheid! Drink!
How many free Palestine groups do you go to sarc?
Why were the Palestinians barred from entering other countries? Because every time they were allowed in they tried taking over and killing people in those countries?
Israel is open to Muslims. Just not one’s who openly call for killing news and race to become martyrs.
Palestine receives billions and billions in foreign aid. Which they use to fund martyrs and soldiers. Their government stealing said aid.
Fuck off you liberal cuck.
"Palestine receives billions and billions in foreign aid. Which they use to fund martyrs and soldiers. Their government stealing said aid."
Thank you for the reminder of Joe's famous "Gaza Pier" - perhaps the most brilliant foreign policy stroke of the century. /sarcasm
“neither of which had been living under and apartheid state with their land”
Wow, you really went there?
Edit: Holy shit, you doubled down on it.
Next time read what I responded to instead of listening to the voices in your head.
Did you use the word genocide. Yes or no?
You still haven't learned what context means I see. You just see a word and whoof whoof whoof. Go chase cars on the freeway.
"You still haven’t learned what context means I see."
This from the guy who describes Israel/Palestine as "apartheid".
Weren't you the one who cried about the term concentration camps? Guess your principles really aren't principles.
So definitions change depending on how they help your argument?
Totally not a leftist!
That is Hamas's (aka Iran) goal with the Jews.
Far, far, fewer "Palestinians" will do nothing more than reduce some of the problems of the world.
Muslims hate them as much as Israelis, who would love to live peacefully near them if they'd just stop lobbing rockets at them.
As Jesse put it above "Why were the Palestinians barred from entering other countries? Because every time they were allowed in they tried taking over and killing people in those countries?"
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_September
Black September (Arabic: أيلول الأسود Aylūl al-ʾAswad), also known as the Jordanian Civil War,[9] was an armed conflict between Jordan, led by King Hussein, and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), led by chairman Yasser Arafat. The main phase of the fighting took place between 16 and 27 September 1970, though certain aspects of the conflict continued until 17 July 1971.
After the 1967 Six-Day War, Palestinian fedayeen guerrillas relocated to Jordan and stepped up their attacks against Israel and what had become the Israeli-occupied West Bank. They were headquartered at the Jordanian border town of Karameh, which Israel targeted during the Battle of Karameh in 1968, leading to a surge of Arab support for the fedayeen. The PLO's strength grew, and by early 1970, leftist groups within the PLO began calling for the overthrow of Jordan's Hashemite monarchy, leading to violent clashes in June 1970. Hussein hesitated to oust them from the country, but continued PLO activities in Jordan culminated in the Dawson's Field hijackings of 6 September 1970. This involved the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) seizing three civilian passenger flights and forcing their landing in the Jordanian city of Zarqa, where they took foreign nationals as hostages and blew up the planes in front of international press. Hussein saw this as the last straw and ordered the Jordanian Army to take action.[10]
On 17 September 1970, the Jordanian Army surrounded cities with a significant PLO presence, including Amman and Irbid, and began targeting fedayeen posts that were operating from Palestinian refugee camps. The next day, 10,000 Syrian troops bearing Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) markings began an invasion by advancing towards Irbid, which the fedayeen had occupied and declared to be a "liberated" city. On 22 September, the Syrians withdrew from Irbid after suffering heavy losses to a coordinated aerial–ground offensive by the Jordanians. Mounting pressure from other Arab countries, such as Iraq, led Hussein to halt his offensive. On 13 October, he signed an agreement with Arafat to regulate the fedayeen's presence in Jordan. However, the Jordanian military attacked again in January 1971, and the fedayeen were driven out of the cities, one by one, until 2,000 surrendered after they were encircled during the Ajlun offensive on 23 July, formally marking the end of the conflict.[11]
Jordan allowed the fedayeen to relocate to Lebanon via Syria, where they later became involved in the Lebanese Civil War.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebanese_Civil_War
Fighting between Lebanese Christian militias and Palestinian insurgents (mainly from the Palestine Liberation Organization) began in 1975 and triggered the establishment of an alliance between the Palestinians and Lebanese Muslims, pan-Arabists, and leftists.[10] The internal strife deepened as foreign powers, namely Syria, Israel, and Iran, became involved and supported or fought alongside different factions.
They even have civil wars within Gaza amongst themselves!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatah%E2%80%93Hamas_conflict
Sounds like a group that might just deserve genocide.
All of the above is Israel's fault.
/sarc
Under the control of a British administration since 1920, Palestine found itself the object of a battle between Palestinian and Zionist nationalists, groups that opposed both the British mandate and one another.
The Palestinian opposition culminated in the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine, a deadly civil conflict that saw the deaths of nearly 5,000 Palestinian Arabs and 500 Jews, and resulted in much of the Palestinian political leadership, including Amin al-Husseini, leader of the Arab Higher Committee, being driven into exile. Britain also reduced Jewish immigration in response to the violence, as legislated by the 1939 White Paper.
In the aftermath of the adoption of Resolution 181(II) by the United Nations General Assembly recommending the adoption and implementation of the Plan of Partition,[14] the manifestations of joy of the Jewish community were counterbalanced by protests by Arabs throughout the country[15] and after 1 December, the Arab Higher Committee enacted a general strike that lasted three days.[16]
A "wind of violence"[17] rapidly took hold of the country, foreboding civil war between the two communities.[18] Murders, reprisals, and counter-reprisals came fast on each other's heels, resulting in dozens of victims killed on both sides in the process. The impasse persisted as British forces did not intervene to put a stop to the escalating cycles of violence.[19][20][21][22]
The first casualties after the adoption of Resolution 181(II) were passengers on a Jewish bus near Kfar Sirkin on 30 November, after an eight-man gang from Jaffa ambushed the bus killing five and wounding others. Half an hour later they ambushed a second bus, southbound from Hadera, killing two more, and shots were fired at Jewish buses in Jerusalem and Haifa.[20][23] This was stated to be a retaliation for the Shubaki family assassination, the killing of five Palestinian Arabs by Lehi near Herzliya, ten days prior to the incident.[24][25][26]
"Kill them all then? Genocide the motherfuckers so there’s nobody left to get revenge?"
This is a good summary of Hamas's position regarding the Jews.
'In contrast, moderates support a ceasefire and advocate for ending the war without Hamas' eradication.'
OK, fucktards, how about this: we will end the war now if you volunteer to serve as voluntary hostages, say with 6 to 12 month shifts. This will provide the minimum level of terrorist leverage that Hamas deserves, mostly peacefully.
Hamas literally funds the families of "martyrs." Theor charter calls for the destruction of Israel. They have always been at war. Their primary tactic has been convincing ignorant leftists like sarc that their open goal isn't a real goal.
I mean, are we really surprised that "moderates" would support keeping the former status quo in place?
"It would be highly improper for this Court to evaluate issues of bias, unfairness or error in the state trial," federal Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein wrote. "Those are issues for the state appellate courts."
Which court might have a semblance of political neutrality?
'The woman, 59-year-old Doreen Brodhead, probably would not have qualified for assisted suicide programs even if New York were a state where such programs were legal; she had reportedly suffered 40 years' worth of chronic back and neck pain but did not have a terminal illness.'
What if she swore allegiance to free speech, capitalism, and Trump?
Sex offenders should be overqualified for assisted suicide programs.
Then they would kill her in a New York minute. They would pass a special law allowing it.
'"Financial regulators [in China] have proposed reducing rates on outstanding mortgages nationwide by a total of about 80 basis points, part of a package that includes an accelerated timeline for when mortgages become eligible for refinancing, according to people familiar with the matter," reports Bloomberg.'
Have they tried giving $250,000 to illegal immigrants?
That's a LIE. It's only $150,000.
which had looked so close to getting across the finish line that the U.S. sent Secretary of State Antony Blinken over to seal the deal
*lol snort*
You know your negotiations are going into the toilet when Blinken shows up.
Hey, he's been every bit as effective as Harris! I mean, look at his (or her) accomplishments!
This did not succeed and the case will remain with Merchan, who is expected to hand down a lighter sentence
Poor naive Liz.
Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about what happens in the Levant?
There's a ton to criticize Israel for in their handling of this situation, but you can't just expect them to allow a group like Hamas to just do the stuff that they do. You wind up without a country that way (which is of course the point to Hamas' actions).
I despise war with every fiber of my being, but since I'm neither Israeli nor Palestinian, if the leaders of both sides seem to want war, it seems pointless to get involved.
Am I the only one who just doesn't care about the ins and outs of WWII German eastern front strategies and motivations?
no no, I assume I'd rather hear about everything else ever first
>>Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has remained beholden to his far-right flank

there are no ceasefire negotiations.

>>Really next-level idiocy on Tucker Carlson's show:
the dude did keep talking beyond the end of that sentence and explained what he meant.
Yes, but Tucker Carlson... I mean it was all probably super secret dogwhistles to secret armies of Nazi's inhabiting the Heartland all the way down.
After all, it's not what they actually said, but what we can divine that they probably meant.

Does Hamas concur with the figure of 6 hostages killed? sarcasmic won't accept it otherwise.
CNN said it, so...
Excellent Bari Weiss interview with a Muslim Israeli journalist. Puts the lie to Hamas apologist sarcasmic’s bullshit up and down this thread.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LIcd7wHlCE
Cliff notes, please.
From the description:
Lucy Aharish is one of the most prominent television broadcasters in Israel—and the very first Arab Muslim news presenter on mainstream Hebrew-language Israeli television.
Born and raised in a small Jewish town in Israel’s Negev desert, as one of the only Arab Muslim families, she has a unique lens through which to view the divisions in Israeli society, the complexity of the country’s national identity, and the Middle East more generally.
Lucy has long been a vocal critic of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is equally critical of her fellow Arab Israelis, particularly of Arab violence and the Arab leadership that she says condones it.
A Muslim and a Zionist; an Arab and an Israeli. In short, Lucy Aharaish is an iconoclast.
Bari Weiss sat down with Lucy in Tel Aviv. They talked about the October 7 massacre and its impact on the country and her family–her husband put on his uniform and headed to the south within hours of hearing the news, despite being past the age of an active reservist. She also talked about the challenges she faced growing up as the only Arab Muslim kid in a traditional Jewish village, the terrorist attack that she survived in Gaza as a child, and the hope that she has for her Muslim-Jewish son and the future of the country she calls home.
Some further comments from me regarding this interview.
This woman, being an arab-israeli, did experience first-hand discrimination / bullying by jewish classmates and neighbors. This does exist. However, she wasn’t put in a concentration camp or an “apartheid” situation as the nit-wits here (sarcjeff, trueman, misek) absurdly claim.
She recognizes the faults of Israeli society, and govt, but recognizes the obvious fact that Israel is a free country, a non-dictatorship; and far preferable to the Arab and Muslim ruled countries nearby.

The New York Times says the case is galvanizing France's feminist movement, which is lobbying for changes to the way the country defines consent.
FIFY, Liz.
Because again, this is the country where #Metoo went to die and you'd have to be borderline retarded to just assume that the country that pinched the guy for videotaping up women's skirts doesn't also have a clearly-defined set of guardrails with respect to consent, drugging your spouse, pimping your drugged spouse, paying someone to have sex with their drugged spouse, etc., etc., etc. And that any except the most retarded and vocal minority in France are up in arms about whether what this guy did was wrong or not.
love when you pull punches.
Really next-level idiocy on Tucker Carlson's show

The Post reported that New York Police Department officers are working at a disadvantage when they arrest suspected illegal immigrants as the Big Apple’s “sanctuary city” laws do not allow for cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
1) Hamas = Theocratic, unapologetic, bigoted, genocidal mass murderers.
2) Exterminate them all. If any Palestinians die as collateral damage, recall that the Palestinians elected Hamas to represent them globally, and then see #1.
