Fellow Democrats Force Joe Biden Out of His Reelection Bid
After facing weeks of falling poll numbers and pressure from fellow Democrats and liberal donors, Biden ended his reelection campaign. He subsequently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

When he was campaigning for office four years ago, President Joe Biden promised to be "a bridge" to the next generation of leaders.
That bridge will be four years shorter than Biden may have planned.
Biden, the oldest president in American history at age 81, announced Sunday that he will not seek reelection this year. The announcement ends weeks of speculation about the future of Biden's campaign—and it could kick off a mad scramble to replace Biden on the top of the ticket, with the Democratic National Convention (DNC) approaching quickly and the general election less than four months away.
"It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president," Biden wrote in a letter to the country released Sunday afternoon. "And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term."
Though Biden wrote that he will continue to serve as president, he is likely to face further questions about his fitness for office. He said he would explain his decision in more detail "later this week."
In a subsequent announcement, Biden seemed to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor. "My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it's been the best decision I've made," Biden posted on X, formerly Twitter. "Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year."*
Biden's physical and mental decline had been the subject of online speculation for months, but the evidence became impossible for many Democrats—and the media—to ignore after Biden turned in a disastrous debate last month against former President Donald Trump.
Even before the debate, polls showed many voters believed Biden, who will turn 82 in November, was too old to effectively serve another four years as president. Biden's campaign hoped to use the June 27 debate against former President Donald Trump to quell those whispers. The opposite occurred, as Biden struggled to articulate his own answers, seemed to lose his train of thought more than a few times, and showed none of the vim and vigor that had defined his long political career.
In the days after the debate, the White House's attempts to explain away Biden's poor performance seemed to raise other red flags. For instance, Biden said that a recent international trip was to blame for his unfocused appearance at the debate. "I wasn't very smart. I decided to travel around the world a couple of times," Biden told donors at a Virginia fundraiser in early July, according to Politico. "I didn't listen to my staff and I came back and then I almost fell asleep on stage."
But the president returned from that trip on June 16—a full 11 days before the debate. If it takes Biden more than a week to recover from jet lag, that's a potentially more serious indication of his physical and mental decline than anything that happened on the debate stage in Atlanta.
Meanwhile, after months of downplaying reports of the president's struggles, mainstream outlets like The New York Times and CNN were suddenly inundating readers and viewers with reports about Biden's day-to-day struggles. Biden's poll numbers took a hit after the debate—in a Times/Siena College poll taken in the days after the debate, Trump extended his lead to six points among likely voters and eight points among registered voters.
In the wake of the debate, Biden's campaign struggled to reassure donors that his poor showing against Trump was nothing more than a bad night. It didn't work. "If you wake Joe Biden at three-o-clock in the morning and ask him who's president, does he get it right?" one anonymous Democratic donor said during a phone call on July 2, according to Semafor.
Biden remained defiant. In an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on July 5, Biden said he'd continue running unless "the Lord Almighty" removed him from the race. A week later, while maintaining that he would not stand aside, Biden told reporters that he'd suspend his campaign only if staffers told him there was no path to victory. "No one is saying that," the president added. "No poll says that."
But the polls did show that Biden's path to victory was getting perilously narrow, even at this early date. By the second week of July, several prominent Democrats in Congress had joined the chorus calling for Biden to step aside. That drumbeat only got louder throughout the middle of month, with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D–N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D–N.Y.) reportedly delivering blunt messages to the president about his reelection prospects and the damage that his sinking campaign could do to other Democrats.
This week, as the Republicans were in the midst of their convention, the dam seemed to break. A poll released that day showed that nearly two-thirds of Democratic voters believed Biden should exit the race. Reports emerged that Democratic voters had, as The New York Times put it, "slammed their wallets closed" on Biden's campaign, with fundraising totals plummeting to about half of June's totals.
No one can outrun time, and Biden eventually acknowledged reality. In the letter released Sunday, Biden expressed "the deepest gratitude" to those who had supported his reelection bid.
This is the first time in modern American history that an incumbent president has exited a reelection campaign at this late stage. The only remotely comparable example would be President Lyndon B. Johnson, who ended his campaign in 1968 while the primaries were still ongoing. The Democratic Party, the executive branch of the federal government, and the country as a whole are very much in uncharted territory after Biden's announcement.
Some of the most important questions—like whether Biden is fit to finish his term in office, or who will be the Democratic nominee on the ballot in November—are still unanswered. Several prominent Democrats have called for a truncated democratic process to choose a new nominee before the convention, though it remains unclear how that would or could work. Still, those statements make it clear that there's at least some resistance to the idea of anointing Kamala Harris as Biden's natural successor.
But we can say with certainty that this mess is the fault of Biden's closest advisers and inner circle at the White House: people who tried for months to hide the president's physical decline until it became impossible to do so. Biden should have faced the media more than he did. He should not have skipped the traditional Super Bowl Sunday interview. Shielding Biden from the media for so long was an attempt to mislead the public, plain and simple—and it likely made Biden's debate performance all the more shocking, which means it failed as a political strategy too.
The Democratic Party also failed. There should have been a robust primary campaign that would have put Biden under the microscope. Regardless of what happens between now and the Democratic convention, the outcome would have been more fair and democratic if it had played out over several months rather than a few weeks.
Biden made what seems like the right decision for the country. But by waiting so long to make that decision—waiting that was enabled by people who surely knew better—he sowed the potential for an unprecedented level of political chaos.
UPDATE: This post was updated to include Biden's endorsement of Harris as his successor.

Wow,that was fast. Like Reason already had the article written.
A lot of people had articles written back when they were expecting Brandon to announce he wouldn't seek another term sometime late January/early February (after everyone recovered from their New Years' hangovers.), including articles reflecting on his fifty years of service.
The tone will be different now.
What a difference six months make!
Maybe he wrote this in 2020, that is why Boehm thinks Biden’s mental health has only been in question for months.
Nobody could have known! Brain waves changed!
His cognitive decline was just a conspiracy until a couple months ago. Then facts changed.
Sudden onset. No one could have seen it coming.
He’s still gotta swing along with bibi on the gallows for supporting Israel’s holocaust in Gaza.
Fuck off .
You’re either on the side of Israel, on trial for committing a holocaust in Gaza, reneging on its signatory obligations to the UN genocide convention, defying the UN ruling to cease its offensive OR you’re on the side of the UN, the international body and highest international court put in place to stop crimes against humanity.
It’s obvious that you support the holocaust.
“The International Court of Justice, the top judicial arm of the United
Nations, said Friday that Israel should bring an end to its illegal
occupation of Palestinian territory, cease new settlement activity,
evacuate existing settlements and pay reparations to Palestinians who
have lost land and property.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/07/19/israel-icj-occupation-palestinian-territory/
And you're either on the side of Israel, or Hamas. I'll bet I know which side.
Refuted.
Refuted
Refuted
False binary refuted.
Refuted.
I'm with Israel. I'm for hunting down every hamas member worldwide and killing them. Plenty of hamas assholes elsewhere to hunt down and kill. No need to be confined to hunting within Israel proper, either. Haniyeh's days are numbered.
Hamas is my enemy; I don't cry when they die.
REFUTED!!!
Nazi shit cites WaPo as source! FOAD, shitbag.
Refuted.
I am getting conspiracy-confirmation whiplash.
You know EVERYONE knows about his decline because Drudge was running headlines about how Trump is showing cognitive decline for months and months. All the leftist media was on board, all the way back to the early primaries.
One of the standard plays of the DNC is the "I'm rubber and you're glue" tactic. If the loyal propaganda media is saying it out all of a sidden, it's pure projection.
Leftists always project.
As a tactic or as emotional weakness?
Yes.
Oldest.
Third-most expediently mentally debilitated while in office.
Who besides Woodrow Wilson?
Kennedy for the two hours before Johnson was sworn in?
So Boehm knew about Biden's mental health reluctantly and strategically.
Biden No Longer Running
- Depends extra ultra absorbent advertisement
Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific — maybe he can make up for his lost salary by endorsing that shampoo brand, if they are still around.
Was it a baby shampoo? And on that note, I hear Shrike is trying to market a brand of lube to children.
They probably did. Not uncommon for media organizations. My own newspaper as of about three minutes ago (website, of course) had a front-page article about Boeing. I just did a refresh and now the Biden-dropout has replaced it.
Or just feed chatGPT your writing sample and the key outline points you want to cover and then proof read it for nonsense.
They usually skip the last part these days.
Lol, i bet a number of "in the know" already had that written up. If Brandon can't run for President how can he be President? A palace coup to force him out of the race after the delegates are pledged to him and everyone in the Corporate Press have told us for a couple of years he is the best version ever? Democrats picking the successor like, IDK, fascist dictatorships? I thought Trump was the dictator
Endorsing Knee Pad was a big FU to Hillary Clinton and the establishment Dems
Grab some popcorn this is going to be fun.
oh and Ms. VP, did you work with Biden closely? You did? And you didn't act in the best interest of the American people to either convince him to not run again early enough for a proper primary or go to the Dem leaders and share the truth. By not doing anything you put your party above the Republic.
Cackles is unburdened by the past.
You mean the passage of time, right?
0or memory/logic/integrity.
What does that Venn diagram look like?
Not good.
But how will this affect Koch Industries?
The damage was already done.
This is like closing the gate AFTER the cattle stampeded out and caused major property damage.
Or shutting off the gas AFTER the house burned down.
Now Boehm can strategically and reluctantly vote for Harris.
Blowjobbing your way to the presidency is just as legitimate as any other.
“Give it to me straight, how long will it take to blow 51% of America?”

"Good news is, you won't have to blow 51% of America..." - Chicago
Umm. Sex workers are real workers.
Interesting. We know Presidents have gotten blow jobs in the Oval Office. Could Harris be the first executive to give blow jobs there?
Obama.
Knees down! Heels up!
No, this was done to better justify the 2 am ballot dump that's SOP in Democratic strongholds now. If they tried that with Biden, the fraud would have been blatantly obvious.
Replacing him with Harris allows the media to start pumping out bullshit stories about "the newly re-energized Democratic party," followed by the ballot stuffing on election night.
She's relatable! And young (only 59)! Like your fun aunt!
Who hasn't botched their one big assignment at some point?
Who doesn't struggle to come up with just the right words when put on the spot with unexpected questions?
My fun aunt that I smoke pot with then bang cause she wanted some young strange?
Don’t forget her mastery of Venn Diagrams.
And who doesn't like school busses really?
Especially the yellow ones.
Shrike likes what’s inside schoolbuses.
this was always my theory.
I thought event before this election cycle that Joe wouldnt be the nominee but then, I though he would choose that. then he said he was running and i thought it was a psyop - that they'd planned to replace him AFTER they got Trump back as opponent.
THEN it became apparent his attitude was - "They can pry the presidency from my cold dead hands"...
at which point i figured... well - he still wont make it but thought the Ds would force him out before fixing the results would be too hard.
It was always my theory after he declared he was running, that when they replace him the press and the rest of the dems would play up how great the replacement is so they can justify the coming 'bumps in the polls' and then the constant stream of hagiographies of him and his successor would justify the 'bump in the late night ballot counts for [D]-party of corruption and fixed elections'.
Biden's physical and mental decline had been the subject of online speculation for months
Months? Lol. What a fuck head.
A lot fewer people would have cared if Brandon had announced he WASN"T seeking another term six months ago as he was EXPECTED to.
Dems were caught in a zugzang when he announced he was running for re-election. For half a year, they couldn't publicly criticize him without it being turned against them and the entire party.
zugzwang
Jackie? Where's Jackie? Is she here? She said she was going to be here.
You'll see her soon, Joey Baby
Months? Lol. What a fuck head.
In 2019 and 2020, literally every single comment thread beneath every Joe Biden article written here, has people talking about Biden's obvious senility and dementia.
Hell, people were even noticing it in 2014 and 2015 when he was VP.
Reason gaslighting is never top tier.
We can just forget about the fact that a prosecutor investigating his document handling declined prosecution because he wouldn't be competent to stand trial.
That was six months ago... so obviously it didn't happen.
Years. We have all been paying attention if the corporate media has not preferring to gaslight America. People are noticing and I sincerely hope it is too late for The Cathedral and the corporate media.
Even Reuters and AP wrote stories about the “Where’s Jackie?” Moment. It was mainstream. They just covered their ears and sang in denial.
To me, it is not credible for any Cabinet member or close aide (i.e. Anita Dunn, her husband, Rob Klain, etc) to say they did not know. They knew, and stayed silent. What an abdication of responsibility to the country. They have put us all at extreme risk through their lust for power and control.
BREAKING: US B-52's encounter two Russian Migs; accused of attempting to violate border.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, that’s who is running the US.
We're in bad, bad trouble.
Those idiots might really get us into WW3 before we get to November.
Mail in ballot printer about to go:
***brrrrrrrr***
Those promoters can only handle so much workload before they burn up.
Just make sure to shred all the pre-printed Biden ballots first.
Nah, just pile them in the basement. It will be fun for our kids to discover them after the next revolution.
Imagine how demoralizing it must be to have spent 3.5 years defending Joe Biden on a daily basis.
Imagine how embarrassing it is to have "Biden Guy" in your username.
LOL
....... and I just got a Youtube ad where Barack Obama himself begs me to throw $5 at Biden / Harris!
Brandon created this situation by running for re-election.
Pretty much everyone knew he wouldn't be able to serve another four years.
He didnt even serve the first 4. Why dems keep talking about the team around him.
At least he picked a crack team (or a team on crack):
VP: Harris
Sec of Transportation: Buttigieg (a train wreck, literally)
Sec of Treasury: Yellen (if you only made 600 bucks selling stuff, what do you have to hide?)
Secret Service Director: Cheatle (great name for a Dem) "Hey, Trump's still alive, ain't he?"
Comptroller of the Currency: Omarova (sure, she was a Soviet communist, but her views have matured, as witnessed by her recent academic papers. Oh, wait...)
Disinformation Czar: Jankowicz (Hey, it says "disinformation" right in the job title)
So trannies that steal luggage are nothing to you?
Why do you hate diversity? Do luggage stealing trannys not enrich our culture?

Will be interesting to see how long he even lives after this… I mean – its guaranteed to be longer than if he refused to be pushed out – but … how long could a guy declining that fast survive?
Hmmm... maybe till at least October - wouldnt that be 'surprising'? 😉
"Historic first dead President to vote for himself after the election before the cutoff."
Well Adjusted Big Mike Guy coming soon
Sure he's not going to be Well Adjusted Blowjob Guy?
Sarc, shrike, nor jeff get embarassed.
Ooohhhh, this is going to be fun. What’s the over/under on one of those shitweasels offing themselves?
Fingers crossed.
Zero. They're never actually invested in their lies.
For example, Jeff will fight to the death one day to defend an idea, only to treat it like used toilet paper the next when the official narratives change.
Is that how deals with the depression from being morbidly obese and unable to capture small children?
They feel no shame, so zero.
Biden defenders are shameless. I'm looking at twitter and I see them saying how this proves Biden was the greatest president in history.
I mean, it's one thing to support someone without being completely delusional. He's been a terrible president by any standard, even without factoring in he's been a zombie through at least 2/3 of it.
Poll on who it will be:
I'm going with it is still her turn.
Get ready for more “Deplorables” rhetoric from the Democrats, then. I think her vitriol was just eight years too early. They’re primed to hate from deeper down now.
And we have the convention to look forward to next month. With all those Pro Hamas rioters waiting in the wings. I wonder how much pandering it will take for the prospective candidates to successfully virtue signal to those nutjobs?
Let’s stay tuned and find out!
You mean the same Hillary Clinton who had to be Weekend-at-Bernie'd into a van 8 years ago after malfunctioning in mild September weather?
Election Betting Odds has Harris at 82%. That seems high but I can't think of anyone I'd put higher than her.
That was a cheap fake!
Yes, yes she is.
She's raised her rate significantly since the Willie Brown days.
She only gets high listening to Tupac and biggie 5 years before they released their albums
Hillary referred to black (male) youths as super predators.
Trump has kids with multiple women, got a bullshit conviction, and survived a shooting. Those “super predators” are now voting age and may skew towards him.
The democrat party fought a war to keep them slaves. Don’t think they care as long as the check clears.
Yeah, I’ll believe black people won’t vote D when I see it.
Trump made gains with blacks in 2020 over 2016. So it’s not unreasonable that he can pull more black votes this time too. Especially with his bad crime and the economy are.
Trump’s street cred is approaching 2Pac and Biggie. Biggie being The Notorious B.I.G. and not the biggie that is the Gluttonous B.I.T. (Bears In Trunks).
I actually saw a guy in a T-shit in East Sacramento with Trump superimposed with Tupac, fucking brilliant.
“…… Gluttonous B.I.T. (Bears In Trunks).
Well done. Lol.
Chefs kiss
Dunno. I've met a lot of working class and up by the bootstraps small business black men who were all in for Trump in 2020. Don't know if their votes were actually counted. Don't know if anybody's were. But I'd be very surprised if Trump doesn't have significant gains in that group.
lol
Newsome/Harris 2024 or better yet, the Grrrrl Power ticket. Whitmer/Harris 2024.
But if the Clinton-Obamites still want to retain total control they may "convince" a "reluctant" Michelle Obama to "do the right thing for America".
Whitmer looks like a female version of the joker from Batman with that deranged smirk on her face in the pictures I’ve been seeing of her.
See my post below, I can't imagine the Democrats... yes, the Democrats can't be this cynical. No, they're going to throw in a placeholder who can go down in history as an also-ran and then keep their powder dry for Newsom in 2028.
That what Biden was supposed to be, he was never supposed to win in 2020.
Biden was absolutely supposed to win. Time magazine put out an article detailing how the establishment fixed the outcome.
Somehow I doubt Time magazine bought into the "stolen election" conspiracy.
Then you didn't read the article?
Did you read the article? Assuming you are referring to the one JesseAZ linked they are talking about blocking Trump's claims that the election was stolen, not of stealing it themselves.
And even if your bizarre-world interpretation were true, CEOs, labor unions, and the media teaming up to push Biden over the line doesn't change the fact that the DNC never expected nor intended that he win when he was chosen as the nominee.
That sounds like a conspiracy.
You didnt make it past the 3rd paragraph huh.
There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans. The pact was formalized in a terse, little-noticed joint statement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AFL-CIO published on Election Day. Both sides would come to see it as a sort of implicit bargain–inspired by the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests–in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.
.
For more than a year, a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless pandemic and an autocratically inclined President. Though much of this activity took place on the left, it was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors.
And most damning.
Their work touched every aspect of the election.
Next time make it past 3 paragraphs.
Are you retarded?
That seems like a rhetorical question in his case.
You're partly right. Time didn't believe the election was "stolen", they said it was "fortified" because the "proper outcome" occurred.
This is the inside story of the conspiracy to save the 2020 election, based on access to the group’s inner workings, never-before-seen documents and interviews with dozens of those involved from across the political spectrum. It is the story of an unprecedented, creative and determined campaign whose success also reveals how close the nation came to disaster. “Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated,” says Ian Bassin, co-founder of Protect Democracy
The first task was overhauling America’s balky election infrastructure–in the middle of a pandemic. For the thousands of local, mostly nonpartisan officials who administer elections, the most urgent need was money. They needed protective equipment like masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. They needed to pay for postcards letting people know they could vote absentee–or, in some states, to mail ballots to every voter. They needed additional staff and scanners to process ballots.
Private philanthropy stepped into the breach. An assortment of foundations contributed tens of millions in election-administration funding. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative chipped in $300 million. “It was a failure at the federal level that 2,500 local election officials were forced to apply for philanthropic grants to fill their needs,” says Amber McReynolds, a former Denver election official who heads the nonpartisan National Vote at Home Institute.
In November 2019, Mark Zuckerberg invited nine civil rights leaders to dinner at his home, where they warned him about the danger of the election-related falsehoods that were already spreading unchecked. “It took pushing, urging, conversations, brainstorming, all of that to get to a place where we ended up with more rigorous rules and enforcement,” says Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, who attended the dinner and also met with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and others. (Gupta has been nominated for Associate Attorney General by President Biden.) “It was a struggle, but we got to the point where they understood the problem. Was it enough? Probably not. Was it later than we wanted? Yes. But it was really important, given the level of official disinformation, that they had those rules in place and were tagging things and taking them down.”
The summer uprising had shown that people power could have a massive impact. Activists began preparing to reprise the demonstrations if Trump tried to steal the election. “Americans plan widespread protests if Trump interferes with election,” Reuters reported in October, one of many such stories. More than 150 liberal groups, from the Women’s March to the Sierra Club to Color of Change, from Democrats.com to the Democratic Socialists of America, joined the “Protect the Results” coalition. The group’s now defunct website had a map listing 400 planned postelection demonstrations, to be activated via text message as soon as Nov. 4. To stop the coup they feared, the left was ready to flood the streets.
While he was talking, Fox News surprised everyone by calling Arizona for Biden.
And rather than elevate Trump’s complaints by continuing to fight him, the alliance wanted to send the message that the people had spoken.
So the word went out: stand down. Protect the Results announced that it would “not be activating the entire national mobilization network today, but remains ready to activate if necessary.”
In Podhorzer’s presentations, winning the vote was only the first step to winning the election. After that came winning the count, winning the certification, winning the Electoral College and winning the transition–steps that are normally formalities but that he knew Trump would see as opportunities for disruption. Nowhere would that be more evident than in Michigan, where Trump’s pressure on local Republicans came perilously close to working–and where liberal and conservative pro-democracy forces joined to counter it.
Welcome new guy. I find your perspective not particularly compelling but keep trying. Lots of room in my grey boxes.
He’s posted some retarded shit before today, if I’m remembering correctly.
https://time.com/5936036/secret-2020-election-campaign/
They bragged about it.
That what Biden was supposed to be, he was never supposed to win in 2020.
Doesn't change anything about my thesis. It was a massive political and strategic miscalculation.
If I was casting a movie about armageddon and I needed someone to play satan or the son of - Newsom is a perfect casting.
Whenever I see Newsom, I flash mentally to Christian Bale's American Psycho character.
I’ve been trying to figure out what that asshole reminded me of. This is exactly it.
I guess Dark Brandon isn't available.
Corn Pop?
"...No, they’re going to throw in a placeholder who can go down in history as an also-ran and then keep their powder dry for Newsom in 2028."
A Newsom candidacy is going to require a whole lot of forgetting.
The ONLY reason he's still governor is that the Democrat party has been exceptionally good at forcing party members to toe the line.
Everyone hates him. Everyone, except for a very few progressives, who are decidedly not the majority even here. But if you're D in California you vote D, period, full stop. Even if you were once ideologically liberal and progressives are the antithesis, you vote D. And the state has been gerrymandered enough so that there will be no alternative on the ballot. The preferred democrat, a democrat the party allows, and nobody else.
That fucktard hits the national stage, he won't get the backing he expects from the San Francisco D mafia these days. I could be wrong, who the fuck knows what happens in the next four years, but people are sick of progressive bullshit and way more willing to say so than they were in 2020 when governor hairgel was getting so much national love for going full nazi.
My guess is that the Democratic party at this point wants someone who doesn't have a future in the Democratic party and won't hurt the down ballot races too much. They know this election is lost and are looking to minimize the damage.
No, they don't want Harris to be a sacrificial lamb. She was their top choice in 2020 before Tulsi nuked her campaign. This was the main reason she was picked for VP in the first place.
Yeah, but then Hillary nuked Tulsi with the Russia smear.
Mutually assured destruction.
It's four years later and Kamala polls terribly. The Democrats will want to develop new candidates untainted by past associations. Kamala Harris will retain the black female vote and the Democrats will hope that by doing so that the down ballot races won't be an electoral bloodbath.
They know this election is lost and are simply in damage control mode.
My guess is that the Democratic party at this point wants someone who doesn’t have a future in the Democratic party and won’t hurt the down ballot races too much. They know this election is lost and are looking to minimize the damage.
A very valid argument, if the fucking Democrats weren’t saturated with power mad psychopaths.
Smart money is Harris with Gretchen Whitmer if they can keep the FBI from kidnapping her again (ha ha I jest). The wild card is what Michelle Obama will agree to. Personally I hope the DNC collapses into an all out, high speed figure eight race/demolition derby starting with the convention. I look forward to a mess that even their beloved “superdelegates” can’t sort out.
Of course, everything will hinge on Trump continuing to make 5D chess moves, and how the country reacts to the inevitable “election irregularities” that are coming. Exciting times.
(ha ha I jest)
It’s funny because you weren’t actually jesting.
Harris.
Harris is a joke with no chance to beat Trump.
Newsom presided over a disaster in California, and both he and Whitmer flouted their own COVID lockdown rules.
Pritzker and Shapiro are completely unknown nationally.
The nominee needs to be astronaut Mark Kelly.
The only way to beat a hero is with another hero.
Newsom is Hollywood casting perfection as president. Voters don’t see issues. They want an icon. Voters even chose a reality TV star in 2016.
They also chose a man who has actually run businesses in 2016. Newsom is the slimy used car dealer who has painted over all the rust spots and rolled back the odometer on a car with holes in the undercarriage.
And a retarded grifter in 2020. How iconic!
The message if Newsome is the nominee-
"Do you want your state turned into California?"
Then show all kinds of video of the California homeless situation and remind people that Newsome signed the law that forbids schools from telling parents that their children are transitioning ( that will poll well nationally lol).
Yeah I dare the Democrats to nominate Newsome.
Yeah, even Virginia elected a R governor when the dems there went all in fucking with people’s kids.

Buh bye-den!
Went from Trump vs Biden rematch to Trump vs Clinton rematch.
I’m sure you’re excited to see The Hag as our next president.
As hard as whisky-dick lets him get.
At this point he can probably only get to up while the other hobos are cornholing him.
A rare miss for the Bee:

They found their way back on target.
https://babylonbee.com/news/dems-pull-off-successful-insurrection
The Democratic Party in the United States has pulled off a successful insurrection, completing a coup d'etat to remove the current President from power.
"The President has fallen!" cried Democratic party elites joyfully, having seized power. "Yay insurrection!"
According to sources, Democratic party elites have worked tirelessly to overthrow the candidate chosen by voters, using everything from donation boycotts to blackmail. "It took everything we have, but we have deposed the democratically elected candidate of our party," said former President Obama proudly. "Democracy has been saved."
At publishing time, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough had come on TV to explain how some insurrections are actually very good.
7/21 is worse than 9/11 and 1/6. 😉
Now I'm utterly convinced they're stealing my jokes.
Sampling Rick James material has been a thing for some time.
I'd be happy to give it to them, baby.
Kamala will never let your feelings down.
You and I. Kamala is just a superfreak.
You caint touch dis.
I'm 98% sure at least one of the bee's writers comes to the reason comments for inspiration.
There should be a really bad streaming show about the commentariat.
The part of Shrike is played by ____________ this season.
That’s a good question. And what about Jeffy? Do we go fat suit, or look for a sufficiently morbidly obese actor who can play a child groomer/molester convincgly? Then there’s Sarc………
Clint Howard could play sarcasmic.
Kevin Spacey for Shrike. It would be a touching performance.
Squirrel? Crispin Glover could pull it off.
Andy Dick for Tony.
Rerun from What’s Happening! passed away so it would need to be an open casting for chemjeffrey esptein.
I always pictured Sarc as a Meet Joe Dirt looking guy, Jeff as the Gothapotamus, and Shrike like this guy but wearing a dirty white t-shirt instead.
Shrike like this guy but wearing a dirty white t-shirt instead.
Whether it's a latent memory or a shared global consciousness thing, I can't say, but I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Trevor Phillips from GTA V.
Yes! Exactly. But out of shape with a double chin.
Rerun has been cancelled?
Too soon.
“Clint Howard could play sarcasmic.”
Nicholas Cage played a good drunk in Leaving Las Vegas.
Jared from subway?
Kevin Spacey?
Rob Reiner?
Pritzker says hold my Dom Perignon. Stole that from you a while ago. And no. You can't have back.
Anyone from the Lincoln project?
Those idjits applaud themselves for 'shopped photos of Trump with brown on his golf shorts, claiming Trump is 'in meltdown' over their infantile efforts.
I've been thinking a lot about this the last couple of days, and in my opinion, the Biden-Harris ticket that was created for the 2020 election will be seen as the greatest political blunder in American history.
Put aside all partisan thinking. Put aside policies, ideology, personalities (such as one can), put aside party labels... everything. Just think of this in a politics-as-sportsball question. Just look at it from a purely strategic angle. What the Democrats did in the runup to the 2020 election was one of the most baffling and nonsensical one-two punch self-owns in political history.
They pushed through a candidate who was in a clear state of dementia as far back as 2018-- the reasons why can be debated by reasonable people-- but the fact remains, the DNC shoved Biden down Democrats' throats in the 2020 primaries. Then, in some kind of a fit of virtue signaling in the midst of a woke miasma, they picked a wholly incompetent and unliked running mate, Kamala Harris-- a candidate who was utterly toxic and incompetent, not just to the country as a whole, but Democratic voters specifically.
Whatever one thinks of a presidential ticket, there is a simple fact of the structure of that ticket: The president is Plan A, the Vice President is Plan B. The Democrats crafted a Plan A that was completely unsustainable, backed up by a Plan B that was toxic, unliked and utterly incompetent. Biden can't even put a sentence together for reasons of cognitive decline and Harris can barely put a sentence together for reasons of pure mediocrity.
Biden could have been a perfectly acceptable candidate (again, putting all partisanship aside) in the 90s, or maybe even in the early 2000s. But by 2018, he was so far past his expiration date, the only people who couldn't see it were either stupide or lying. Harris was never an acceptable candidate, because she was never anything more than the 'fun hot party girl'-- her entire career basically resting on that fact.
What's strange is I'm having that same weird, sad feeling I had on the day Trump survived his assassination attempt. I'm not pumping my fist in the air over Biden dropping out, I'm saddened that our political process is so completely broken that this is what our media class was willing to do to not only the country, but to Biden himself who, in my estimation has been abused by his family and the people around him for the last 6 years, in nothing more than a narcissistic attempt to maintain power.
Ok, you may now return to your normal partisan bickering.
i have been saying the same thing. Choosing Harris after she was so clearly rejected by their party's own voters in the primary is such an unforced error.
Even if Biden showed zero signs of decline at the time, just based on his age it was reasonable to think they might actually need a Vice President.
and now how can anyone seriously make a case for how she has improved her standing in the last 4 years?
Well said, Rick, in a comment stream that too often descends into deplorable territory itself.
My thought at this point is that if Party Blue were to nominate a sane middle-of-the-road Dem, they could win the next election hands-down. There must be a lot of never-Trumpers who'd be delighted to have any functioning adult as an alternative.
How likely? I'm not giving odds.
Who would that be? The democrats purged those people long ago. aOC, and ‘The Squad’ are the future of the democrat party. I know some older democrats who sold their soul to the party that become very upset when I point that out to them.
When AOC is making the most sense within the Democratic party, in her rambling, fake-street disjointed way, you know how lost the Democrats are right now.
She did an hour long IRL hot tub stream the other day where she condemned the cowardice of the whisper campaign that has been going in full force the last three weeks. She's not wrong. Have some balls, quick talking "anonymously" to New York Times reporters.
Is she naked and using toys? If not, forget it. Thats the only way I could endure her voice for more than a minute.
There's a mute button, you know.
Still……
But did she have to shoot the whole video with a horse face filter?
She's not that attractive.
Now, TRHL on the other hand...
Only when compared to most any other Congresswoman...
She’s got a bit of a horse face, but that body is banging.
She looked pretty good in that college video bouncing around in a t shirt.
And that “Eat the Rich” dress at the Met gala. More like “Eat this rich ass”, amiright?
Oops, it was “Tax the Rich”. Adjust the joke as you see fit.
“Tax this ass”?
They could draft anyone they want who'll accept the nomination. Doesn't have to be anyone anybody ever thought of previously as a Democrat or a politician at all. Doesn't have to be anybody who's known to more than a couple hundred people in the world, including family, chess club, Rotary, etc. Someone just slightly more than a Chauncey Gardner — someone seen as a Biden without the dementia, acid tongue, trail of victims, and obvious corruption. Someone bland, practically a blank slate. The movie version of "Meet John Doe", not the one who actually drowns himself in Central Park Reservoir, and whose "thing" is the promotion of people's being nice to people. That person's 50-50 to beat Trump.
Recall that when the 2020 primary season started Trump's reelection prospects were looking for very good, and no one with serious presidential ambitions wants to run against a strong incumbent.
Biden emerged as the frontrunner as little more than a way to give the old war horse his last run before putting him out to pasture. By the time it became clear Trump was in trouble, it was too late for a serious challenger to emerge.
To use your term above, he was just supposed to be a placeholder for whoever was going to run in 2024, but he actually won and that threw off the Dems long term plans.
Because pandemic.
Biden was the only candidate with the name recognition to beat Bernie. Biden fared terribly in Iowa and New Hampshire, since voters could see him up close. He swept Super Tuesday states full of low information voters (his wheelhouse.)
Biden flat out said he had to pick a black woman as VP, so the short list wasn't exactly stacked with Presidential timber. And Harris served her main job quite well -- being so obviously incompetent that anyone would think twice before trying to impeach Biden.
They just didn't game it out to 2024. I guess they thought Trump would be locked up by then.
As I say, this will be something that will be analyzed to the bone over the next generation. Lots of theories to speculate about, but the fact remains, whatever their strategic reasons for doing what they did, it WILL be seen as the biggest blunder, the biggest strategic miscalculation in American political history.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the notion that the dems are actually not evil geniuses with a fail safe contingency plan (not limited by any legalities or voter preferences) for any situation.
Although as I type that out I realize I may be jumping the gun with that. “Historical mistake? Pffffttt. Hold my beer.”
Biden’s legacy failure is going to be his reaction to the 2022 midterms. Before then D’s wanted him to fulfill his ‘transition’ semi-promise by not running. The midterms outcome was stunning for the D’s (and really bad for Trump supported candidates esp in swing states and esp election deniers) despite Bidens poor approval ratings. Instead of viewing part of that transition as ‘rising above politics’ to become Presidential, Biden just became an example of power corrupts.
Over the next couple months – R’s jumped into a nomination race for what pretty much everyone thought was a post-Trump R party. Despite Trump filing his papers to run again. And Biden just sat there. His very presence as incumbent eliminated serious challengers. Pelosi and the other geriatrics pointedly did not say the time was right for a transition.
Biden’s election theme and presence screamed – this election is just a personal rematch between Trump and me. Which served to undermine the other R’s AND to reduce any investigations into Trumps election/insurrection from conceivably a Presidential thing to purely a political thing. If Biden himself had decided not to be a 2024 candidate, there are so many ways that Biden could have pardoned some of the lower level Jan6 folks – investigated those who were much more seditious/insurrectionary – investigated state election procedures for the purpose of strengthening them – and eventually pardon Trump (once he can’t run again).
Now he has no transition – and the R’s are not remotely post-Trump – and Trump will win because Kackly was not really a ‘transition’ and Biden kept her under the bus for too long. AND the SC has now created their own fucking coup re monarchical immunity.
This is true. By his party's not losing the traditional amount in Congress, that was seen as a victory. Trump's endorsement wasn't a kiss of death, but it wasn't enough to put over some of the less popular Republicans in their primaries. And you may be right, it went to Biden's head.
They did paint themselves into a corner in 2020, but they had their political reasons — reasons that display how evil and cynical politics is/are. They had hardly any choice than Biden who didn't look like either a doctrinaire socialist and woke-ist or someone who escaped those categories by being idiosyncratic and thus too "weird" by not fitting a category people were comfortable about. Then they decided to take his choice for running mate because (a) tradition older than I am and (b) the Republicans too were deferring to Trump's selection of running mate; "What, we're not going to evince as much confidence in our prez nominee's judgment as the (Ptui!) Republicans show?" And Biden, knowing how weak he'd be as a nominee and as someone of a generation who would crudely say, "I want a black woman, just to show the country that black women are OK!", got her as "his due" from the Democrats after decades of "service".
But Democrats at the national level were as interested in avoiding an embarrassing loss as they were in winning. They saw that they might lose to Trump again, and mostly wanted to keep the score respectable. If Biden-Harris lost, they wouldn't mind it badly, no matter what show they tried to put on about it. And if Biden-Harris won, they expected Biden not to run for another term, and to have an entirely new ticket for 2024. By then some of the hard-left edge of one or more of their contenders might've worn off, or someone new might've emerged without that defect.
Yeah, no, I’m not so sure about the whole “they didn’t plan to win in 2020” idea. You don’t have to be a stolen election conspiracy theorist to understand that all those new pandemic voting rules were ripe for shenanigans. Or fortifications, if you will.
My theory was that they chose Kamala with plans to replace her after the 2022 elections ( and then possibly have Joe step down shortly thereafter). My belief was that the replacement would have been Michelle Obama but because the Democrats needed the VP's tiebreaking vote in the Senate that they weren't able to implement the plan and that has led to this situation.
Replace her as in Divorce, Italian Style? Or a nice way?
Find someway to get Kamala to resign ( say offer her a SCOTUS seat) and if she refuses blackmail of some sort. It might even have been part of the deal when she was selected to be the VP but the Democrats inability to take outright control of the Senate prevented the plan from being implemented.
I posted this on another thread but if you want to understand the the unmitigated stupidity of our political class watch this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS-3QssVPeg&ab_channel=TuckerCarlson
Trust me, I know how stupid our political class can be. There have been an incredible number of examples over the years.
our media class was willing to do to not only the country, but to Biden himself
[throws back the last of a double]
And Harris. Whether a too-old placeholder or diversity hire; all morphe, no hyle. Imagine forcing a Harris/Jean-Pierre ticket. Why? Because it's the DNC. They put their email passwords on dry erase boards and when the FBI calls to tell them they have a security leak they blame the hackers like Carlos Danger trying to dodge a pedophilia charge.
[takes finishes another double]
Joe Biden: Only the Lord Almighty could convince me to step down.
[Gunman fires 6 shots at Trump from 150 yds., only hits his ear]
Joe Biden: I… uh… I’m gonna step down.
----------
Charley Price: This country… I really think it’s like something out of the Bible.
James Butler ‘Wild Bill’ Hickok: What part of the Bible?
Charley Price: The part right before God gets angry.
"I’ve been thinking a lot about this the last couple of days, and in my opinion, the Biden-Harris ticket that was created for the 2020 election will be seen as the greatest political blunder in American history..."
Yes.
The D's got exactly what the deserved. They put an already demented, well below-average, congress critter at the top of the ballot, followed by a DEI-hire who was not an asset to the ticket, and then spent four years lawfaring Trump in the hopes of finding him in jail before the election, instead of working on their bench.
Fortunately, once above the partisan local judiciary, the national bench retains some independence (pissing of the Ds something terrible).
Who has the job of telling the President?
She's already been told. That was the 'talking-to' I said would happen (last) Sunday.
"Of all the things I ever lost, I miss my mind the most".
All hail President Harris because the Democrats are going to steal the election and the Republicans are too feckless to stop them.
And just like that the Trump assassination and USSS's woke failures are out of the news cycle.
They had to do *something*
Fun-house alternate universe world: The Democrats nominate Ron Desantis. Fun imagining what Reason’s new style guide would look like.
Oranges man good....reluctantly.
Not as crazy as you might think: saw an article on MSN this morning (pre announcement) pitching ….. wait for it….. mitt Romney running as a dem to challenge trump.
Be interesting to see if that article is still up.
My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it's been the best decision I've made
He's right.
But not in the way he means.
Assassination Insurance.
Also, impeachment insurance.
What makes you think that's not the way he meant? Wink, wink.
That would require Biden to be able to have coherent thought.
Someone better remind Xiden to pardon Hunter before he leaves office.
Does Jill even like Hunter that much?
I am thinking that there will be multiple pardons necessary ( and that may include Jill).
They're doing this out of order. They should have Agnewed Kamala out of the way BEFORE F. Joe stepped out. Now, keeping Kamala off the top of the ticket will be much more politically costly.

Fellow Democrats Force Joe Biden Out of His Reelection Bid
God, this is a pet peeve of mine. It’s fucking framing, from the very first words. The headline isn’t just “here’s a thing that just happened,” it’s “Because of this specific reason a thing is happening.”
You could just write “Biden announced he’s dropping out of race.” It’s completely factual, it doesn’t require additional context, it’s not framing a certain way this is working. It sends a different message than “Democrats are forcing Biden out of his re-election campaign.” Even if that’s the truth, it’s a conclusion you draw after making a case. Put some argument to establish why you think that, don’t just make those the very first words you throw at people.
It just feels so unprofessional that you need to frame an argument within the headline instead of just sharing news.
It’s Boehm. He also said we all just learned Biden was like this a couple months ago.
If you're looking for solid journalism, you've come to the wrong place. OTOH, not sure where you might find it at all these days.
I can understand that this is editorial content, but this is breaking news, and the gist of the story isn't "Biden forced out by the Democratic Party," it's that Biden's presidential re-election bid is ending. The argument comes later when you're trying to explain and argue what the reasons are that he's stepping aside.
Any comment from the Lord Almighty about their conversation?
Voice of God: "Joe, it's time for you to step down, for the good of the party and the country."
Biden: "Is that you, God? Thank you for guiding me in this difficult decision, and sorry about pretending to be a Catholic for all these years."
Voice of God: "Joe, it's me, Barack. I'm on the telephone."
Biden: "Barack who? Do I know you? Which country are you from?"
Is that the same deity that told Trump to turn his head a half inch last Saturday?
Doesn’t this qualify Joe to be canonized?
He was already deified so canonization would be a step down.
Yes. And pardoned for his crimes against humanity.
God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you
two boats and a helicoptersix bullets aimed at your opponent's head."Even before the debate, polls showed many voters believed Biden, who will turn 82 in November, was too old to effectively serve another four years as president.
It’s never been about the number attached to his age, it’s the fitness and mental state he’s demonstrated. If Thomas Sowell had run for President when HE was 81, I'd have voted for him in an instant.
When Emperor Harris takes office, any predictions on what the first dozen executive orders will be? (Hint, they will almost certainly violate the constitution)
It will all be stuff about being unburdened by what has been, and some other word salad.
Folks, Biden and Harris are the best and brightest the democrats have to offer.
The word salad is a feature.
Restart the passage of time?
Shielding Biden from the media for so long was an attempt to mislead the public, plain and simple—and it likely made Biden's debate performance all the more shocking, which means it failed as a political strategy too.
Once again, Biden's debate performance was not a shock to anyone who consumes honest media. It was just more of the same we have seen since 2019.
I've shared this before, but this our own Robby Soave (And I LIKE Robby) giving his immediate reaction to the first part of the debate.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozrkudpW97A
He doesn't talk about dementia. He doesn't talk about Biden's incoherent answers to some of the early questions, like when he stumbled around an abortion question into saying, "and there was a girl who was raped and killed and he went to the funeral, but women are being raped by their family and in-law," just utter confused nonsense. He didn't mention the "I finally beat medicare" line. These were all within the first 30 minutes or so of the debate.
What did Robbie say of his performance? He's muttering, he's mumbling, he's speaking too softly. His voice is weak, he sounds like he has a cold. Robbie was using the defensive talking points before they were even talking points. He was being way too polite to just call it what it was, Biden sounding like a confused old man because he didn't want to look like the right-winger.
Yeah, Reason as a whole has lost nearly all credibility. I wonder if any of these hacks ever have moments where they realize just how useless and pathetic they’ve become?
Robbie giving a Democrat the benefit of the doubt? SHOCKING!
It's just funny given that, less than a week later, he's asking, "Why didn't we know about Biden's dementia sooner?"
I typically like Robbie, and he's usually willing to push back again narratives more than some of the other senior editors here. But even he is driven by the fear that someone might label him alt-right so he's well aware there's things he can't risk talking about.
“I typically like Robbie, and he’s usually willing to push back again narratives”
2019 called and they want their Robbie back.
Shocking, to be sure.
Balsie Ford being credible was a glaring example.
Interesting that Reason seems to have taken Sullum off of the TDS beat. They sent out Lancaster to, poorly, report on the Special Counsel ruling.
As former Reason alum Michael Moynihan said, "If you watch MSNBC, you wouldn't even know Biden was president."
The media did this, and they did it on purpose, and Democratic normies who all watch MSNBC (or any other corporate media) were just treated to dry this-is-what-happened stories on the rare occasions that Biden was even mentioned.
So when the debate happened, there was a huge number of people that finally saw Biden, unedited and un-handled for the first time in four years and they were shocked.
The thing that makes me double over in laughter is the very people who hid it from them are now scrambling and pumping out stories about how this possibly could have happened! How did we not know?
Yeah this narrative that Reason sells to this day is hilarious. Prior to the debate the wife and I were debating whether it would be Dark Brandon or Dementia Joe that showed up. The only variable was the full week of preparation he purportedly participated in. Could Joe memorize the requisite talking points to last 90 minutes? Nah. The only real question was, why did the Biden camp schedule an early debate that would expose his dementia to the uninformed, including apparently Reason editors. Without missing a beat Reason now uncritically regurgitates the DNC/MSM talking points. Meanwhile some pretty important shit is going on. The Reason candidate has taken us to the edge of WW3 and economic collapse. Maybe Reason will notice when the editors read it in the NYT.
In 2020, Biden could still make it through an hour long debate and find his way off stage, as long as he had a week of prep time, knew the questions in advance, and was hopped up on enough stimulants and Adderall.
Apparently his handlers thought he could still handle it, even though they should have been more worried. But maybe they knew he would botch it, and this is part of the plan. The media turned on him in a hurry after the debate, to distract from their own malfeasance.
What’s funny about politics is the line between shocking blunder and shrewd Machiavellian success is a very thin one.
Imagine had the DNC chosen a competent candidate as vice president. Imagine what that would look like right now. The Democrats might have a VP stepping up to the role who would be reasonably well-liked, competent, articulate and of minimally acceptable intelligence– someone who might have a reasonable chance of beating Trump in November. If they hadn’t made the 2nd colossal mistake of nominating Harris, this might have gone down as one of the most shrewd calculations in political history.
“One turn on the trail” as they say.
Having said all that, and measuring my own cynicism meter, and knowing what we know about the sordid depths of the American political machine and deep state, knuckle up for President Harris in 2024.
Maybe trump should have refused to debate until after the dem convention next month. That would have cramped their replacement schedule and presumably made things that much harder for team blue.
It was pointed out here that there was likely a good reason the dems wanted it early. In this context, things might be going exactly according to plan for them. Scripted chaos, to be sure.
Yeah, lotta cynicism meters cranked up to max setting about now.
If he considers picking Harris as his VP to be the best decision he made, that explains a lot.
Joe Biden neither picked Kamala or wrote that.
The reports were team D didn’t want Kamala, who is VP to (1) check a few boxes (2) ensure Biden stays potus, but Biden’s exit was contingent on him endorsing her. Either way, the convention is open if the strategists want someone else and the machine will get that someone else.
There is also the potential issue of campaign funds donated to Biden-Harris. Is it legal for them to go to say Big Mike or Hillary? I get that it is also illegal to stuff ballot boxes and cheating to ensure more of the same collapse but it could create more issues if Kamala isn’t part of it. Though keeping her retains Biden’s stench and she brings nothing to anything beyond those boxes being checked.
The money can only go to Harris. But she could donate it some Dem Pac which could spend it on behalf of the candidate.
And you can’t stuff ballot boxes…
There really would need to be a mass of complaints by the donors; anyone that donated to the child groping, pants shitting, child kissing Biden is likely to support whatever Team D puts up in its place. This wouldn’t be like say post Katrina Red Cross taking hurricane relief donation money and spending it elsewhere.
Not true. The money can go to the DNC and then forwarded to a friendly PAC.
It just can’t go to a different candidate.

Jill hates her. My guess Susan Rice wrote it.
This.
“I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country…”
Is anyone else a little put off not just by the ordering of things in this statement, but that he mentioned “my party” at all?
I fully expect that from him, and all democrats. The Party works for them like it did for their fellow travelers in the Soviet Union.
It’s exactly what I’d predict.
I don’t disagree. Coming from Biden it is what one would expect. It doesn’t mean it can’t be found off putting
I thought the same thing.
Prayers for Hunter.
Thousands of foreign bank transfers just "malfunctioned".
Wonder what the current market price of his artwork is now. Am guessing it didn’t just go up.
Time to start going to garage sales looking for bargains on some true masterpieces?
If I ran a gallery that owned a Biden and a Hitler I would display them next to each other.
How does it work, to get another candidate on the ballot, when we were told that a couple states had to have a mad scramble to legally change the rules once it became apparent that Brandon wouldn't be confirmed as the candidate at the convention until after the state deadlines?
We got about 3 weeks until the DNC convention, and the deadline for most states is past if not pretty close to being past.
"This week, as the Republicans were in the midst of their convention, the dam seemed to break. "
Not a word about any assassination attempts?
It's like this was written before the assassination.
Well, I have a resignation letter pre-written, too. I just update it from time to time based on the raison de jour so that it's ready when that last straw happens.
"Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year."
Doesn't say whether for president or VP!
They say you can't beat somebody with nobody, but the longer they leave it as nobody, the better chance they have. I think they should actually try this time to beat Trump with "nobody", i.e. a complete dark horse, preferably a non-politician as Trump was. So go for only anti-Trump votes, not pro-somebody votes. Still probably lose that way, but not as embarrassingly.
What is embarrassing is not having Biden resign. The Democrats are saying, "We know he's unfit for another term, right now. But he's going to finish out that term nonetheless, meaning we know we have an incompetent figurehead in there." So either a total doofus is "running the country", or people completely outside democratic accountability are, until the next inauguration. Which means people will hear the Democrats saying, "Fuck you, you don't deserve our respect," to all of them. Which has to hurt them badly for a generation or more to come. It means you'd be pro-Democrat only if your desire is to screw the rest of the country, like the Russian joke about the genie and, "I wish to lose an eye."
Vance already pointed this out. If Biden is so far gone that the Dems need to overrule the primary voters, he's so far gone he should be replaced right now.
The delegates haven’t voted yet. No one has been overruled. They can blame Biden if they need a scapegoat. He resigned you know.

It isn't going to be Harris. The USA isn't ready for a black, female president. Even if they were, it wouldn't be Harris.
After Obama, the Dems should have "played a safety" and run a standard white guy against Trump instead of Killary and would have probably won (remember Trump lost the popular vote). And then after however many terms on "normal" expectations, then run somebody with whatever the amount of woke-i-ness is demanded by the woke gods.
So now, instead of doubling the whammy on whether it's too woke to run a double minority (female & racial) it would be in their best interest to break the seal early on Newsom and run him for 2024. He would be the semblance of normal for people that don't like Trump. He also has the added benefit of not coming with with a bundle of prepackaged hate like Hillary (or at least not nearly as much.) Other than that slickster lawyer feel, he isn't bad as a candidate ... at least until somebody starts digging up dirt on him. Which should be 30 seconds after he announces his run.
The USA isn’t ready for a black, female president. Even if they were, it wouldn’t be Harris.
I thought she was Indian?
Schrodinger's black woman. She's both black and not black at the same time. Her race isn't known until the situation is observed.
She is also half Joker.
Her and whitmer combined make the full Joker.
But not a full deck!
Depends on the crowd.
I dunno, I suspect if Michelle Obama were the nominee she'd win.
I said myself that if we were living in some bizarro-world alternate universe where Joe Biden were running against Michelle Obama, I would pull the lever for Michelle so hard it would break off.
Whatever you think of her policies or ideology, at least you'd know she was president and not a hand-puppet for the deep state.
The USA isn’t ready for a black, female president. Even if they were, it wouldn’t be Harris.
Probably because Kamala Devi Harris isn't black. She's half Brahmin from her mother's side and her father is 3/4s white. And because the one drop rule is America exclusive, and her dad is Jamaican, he identified as mixed-race. Not black.
Also, her father is a prominent Marxist economist. His CV is quite interesting:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_J._Harris#Contributions_to_economic_analysis_and_policy
But Biden says she's clean and articulate.
Ewwww. Clean? I ain’t buying that.
The USA isn’t ready for a black, female president. Even if they were, it wouldn’t be Harris.
This is America. A modern, Western democratic republic. The leader is worthy of the people, not the other way around.
"It isn’t going to be Harris. The USA isn’t ready for a black, female president. Even if they were, it wouldn’t be Harris..."
And we're 'not ready' for fucking ignoramuses like you. FOAD.
You said it so I don't have to.
Always wonderful when someone projects their own ignorance, racism, and xenophobia on the rest of us. It's been done so much the last 10 years I'm all in on calling bullshit and unleashing the full Sevo treatment whenever they do.
You are forgetting how much racial vitriol came out of the woodwork when Obama became president. Just a year prior, everyone was patting themselves on the back about how racism was gone and we can stop talking about it & convincing themselves it was a thing of the past and there was no more work to do. Then boom, a black guy becomes president and all the veneer of civility melted away. From the hanging effigy in a tree at University of Kentucky, Police commissioner in New Hampshire using the N-word referring to Obama and publicly not apologizing for it. , children in Idaho singing 'assassinate Obama" on the school bus, to the W. Virginia mayor referring to Michelle Obama as 'ape in heels' , etc. People lost their decency and supposed post-raciality the moment a black president was no longer a hypothetical scenario and became reality. Go back and look at the news from the time period. Even Joe "You lie" Wilson had never happened before during a presidential address , despite the contentions between parties, until a black guy was president.
If Harris ends up on the (D) ballot, how long before her campaign claims that voting for anyone else is sexist and racist?
2019
Oh, and why would they nominate someone who was the choice of the demented guy? And whose apparent only qualification was being chosen by the demented guy? Probably as his "insurance policy", given how unpopular she proved to be in primaries in 2020? And when even the demented guy explained his pick on the basis of her ticking the boxes he'd pre-chosen of "black" (even if just barely so) and female?
Oh, and why would they nominate someone who was the choice of the demented guy?
He didn't choose her. She was chosen by DNC operatives. See my post above. This was a political blunder of herculean proportions that will be felt in DNC circles for a decade to come, if not longer.
My next prediction for the Democrats as a political machine-- this will result in a major internal battle for control, with the sane internal forces exorcising (or at least attempting to) the the faction that committed this blunder. It's a fight that has to happen if the party wants to survive.
What really gets me is how Democrats constantly praise Biden, even now, even though he is a truly terrible person.
Putting aside all the creepy stuff, from sniffing hair to showering with his daughter. He's got a huge history of lying, including about his first wife and child died, repeatedly claiming it was a drunk driver, when it wasn't. He's just a jerk.
Excellent.
The brain-dead corpse is out. Now if we can get rid of the corrupt Fatass Felon things will be just normally bad again.
The main thrust of your scribblings over the past ~40 months has been that Biden is a smashing success in both foreign and domestic policy. The corollary is that since his approval is in the toilet, it just proves the media is being unfair to him.
Can't recall if you actually used the term "cheapfakes" that was all the rage a few weeks ago, but you don't have much more credibility than a random MSNBC hack.
#DefendBidenAtAllCosts
Sandy, I called for Sleepy Joes withdrawal months ago - the record oil/gas production and economic strength notwithstanding.
Fatass Donnie has to go and Joe couldn’t deliver.
But don’t worry because Dems are inept. They will fuck this up somehow. Your beloved GOP is still winning.
Even now you give him credit for leases signed by Trump and expansion on state and private lands, not federal. Because youre a retarded leftist fuck.
You've also claimed:
Inflation is transitory.
11M jobs added.
Record economy.
And other retarded gaslighting.
Nobody believes your bullshit. You are the laughing stock of the commentariat. The only thing about you that isn’t worthy of derisive laughter is that you might have children locked in your basement.
turd, the ass-wipe of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of TDS-addled lefty shit.

So who in the flying fuck has been running the country the last few years? Edith Biden? Obama acolytes? It sure has not been Basement Joey
Jill Biden has been the president for the last four years. I'm serious.
A soviet.
It comes with zero surprises. It was obvious to rational people that Biden was not fit to be president and has only gotten progressively worse of the 4 atrocious years of his presidency. Biden claims that his best decision was to choose Kamala Harris as his VP, but she was a terrible choice.
While Trump was a mediocre president, Biden has been an abysmal president to the point that many people believe that he is simply a puppet of unknown elitists or the perhaps the 3rd term of Obama.
He should vacate/resign the office.
Who was the last president who was above average? Half of them must have been, so who you comparing to?
Twitter is already blaming racist white men for Kamala losing in November.
DNC-MSM will now begin marching in lockstep behind Kamala. So watch all the negative reports about her suddenly stop.
I truly wanted Condoleezza Rice to run some years back against Obama, so I could vote for a black woman and prove all those assholes crying about racism and sexism wrong.
As we've learned since Thatcher, they don't actually give a shit about women in positions of power. They really just want THEIR women in positions of power.
Would it be too much to ask for a black woman that isn’t pro-war?
They already have a Nobel Peace Prize with her name engraved on it. What are they supposed to do? Pitch it in the recycle bin?
When do you think they'll tell Joe?
Joe was too senile to communicate effectively. Never did I hear from him:
Record oil/gas production
Record stock market
Record wealth creation
Superior GDP to Donnie
Manufacturing boom
Record employment (sometimes said)
That’s it. Too senile to contrast Donnie’s shitshow with his numbers.
Probably didn't hear about it from him because they're made up.
And more retarded gaslighting. Lol. Crediting him for things IN SPITE of his policies. You truly are precious.
They’re all facts you dumbass. Donnie has just lies.

What a gross, pathetic, selfish waste of skin this guy is. This world is on fire because this grifter shitstain wanted to have his picture in the history books more than he cared about his country (or any other). Fuck him.
You're talking about Jill Biden.
Yes and.
USE THE PROPER PRONOUNS, IT'S 2024!
Did you just presume Jill’s pronouns, bigot?
Joe “pants shitting, child groping” Biden will not be appearing in this year’s Battle Box.
Oh, well. It’s probably for the goodest that he’s dropping out.
Live, RFK press conference on Biden. He hasn't even come out yet. No idea what he's going to say.
Whoa, RFK not holding back.
Hope he hired private security.
This must be delightful for RFK, seeing as his idiot cousins just endorsed Biden and condemned him last week.
No shit? Ha! That's fantastic!
Tanned. Rested. Ready.
Jimmy only served one term, he’s in his prime, his age is his greatest strength. Carter Harris 2024
Most people are going to assume Biden's bad polls convinced him to leave the race
I wonder if it was the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
The Deep State showed what it could orchestrate if it needed to do so.
Yeah that. The deep staters have at least a 13 inch binder chock full of evidence of Biden crime family bribery and influence peddling. Nice little presidency you got there. Would be a shame if something happened to it. Guessing you didn't get the Schumer memo. Seven ways to Sunday brother.
The Biden/Harris choice of 2019: The Theranos of American Politics.
2018. the year that will be known as the year Joe Biden retired from politics.
Somebody stop me, the jokes write themselves.
Bye Joe. Good riddance.
Look at how all those jackals (Pelosi, Schumer, et. al) and hyenas turned on him. And you think you can trust them? LMAO. If you trust those people you deserve whatever you get.
As For Heels Up Harris….you’re
nextup. It won’t matter who you pick as VP. The next presidential debate will be illuminating, assuming you actually debate President Trump. I think you’ll find an excuse not to debate him. I am looking forward to the ‘word salad’ commercials on Kamala’s latest contributions.PA Gov Josh Shapiro….I would think long and hard before you say Yes. Just remember, very few VP candidates of losing election tickets ever go on to be POTUS. Look it up. It is a really, really small number.
Just commenting further about the jackals and hyenas. Look how they have abused an old man. They knew he was cognitively gone and stayed silent. They fed like vultures with carrion on his influence. They kept him in place, knowing an old man would embarrass and humiliate himself (and our country) in front of the entire world.
They are evil and sick people who would do this.
To be clear, I am not talking about the average Joe & Jane Democrat just living out their life. The average person probably doesn't give two shits about politics, until the week before the election.
But there are a fuck-ton of people in DC who knew the truth about Joe Biden and stayed silent...the jackals and hyenas.
POTUS Biden should resign immediately.
Nothing going on here has anything to do with governance or the good of the people or any other bullshit the politicians mouth. This is pure hardball politics. Biden has endorsed Harris but according to DNC rules he can't release his electors. If he resigns the presidency she becomes the incumbent president but it doesn't make her the nominee. Some Democrats including AOC are claiming that the power brokers don't want Harris on top of the ticket. Would her incumbency seal the deal or will we see an even bigger shitshow than they're feeding us now. I don't know but you can bet that unsavory characters are debating this as we speak in vape filled rooms.
“To be clear, I am not talking about the average Joe & Jane Democrat just living out their life.”
Covid disabused me of this idea. And the fact that polls show a third of democrats think the Trump assassination was staged. The average Joe and Jane Democrat wants me in a cage.
"Fellow Democrats Force Joe Biden Out of His Reelection Bid."
That's weird.
The democrats were all falling over themselves four years ago to make Biden the POTUS...and now they kicked him out?
Talk about fickle people.
I'm not going to say this is fun (even though it kinda is), but it is certainly entertaining.
