How to claim crime is on a downward slide? Stop people from reporting it or if they do then ignore so people will just stop calling police.
That's about it. I don't trust a single goddam thing the government says, except to show how they want to lie to me.
Hey, it works for inflation. If something goes up in price too much, take it out of the calculation. You know, weird stuff nobody uses like food and energy.
this is why you compare the UCR/NIBRS numbers to the NCVS.
The state legislature is considering a bill that would prohibit local officials from punishing stores for reporting thefts.
Or else what? I can't imagine any punishment being meted out.
Anyway, it's not like police are going to solve those crimes. They really only have time to set up hooker stings or drug informants, situations they control. If local officials don't want people reporting thefts they should lobby to prohibit insurance companies from requiring it for claims.
It's not about the police solving the crimes or not. It's about the reported crimes (solved or not) making the city look like it has a crime problem.
No crime reports = no crime. :^)
Flood them with theft reports and they won't have time for "trafficking" stings.
How dare a store ask the level of government with policing authority to do its job.
And risk contradicting The Narrative.
This isn't new, this has been going on for years. In several areas Police refuse to respond to shoplifting calls from Walmarts. The Police refuse because of pressure from their Union. Their Union is trying to show support for unionizing Walmart. Remember California government is owned by Unions.
> Remember California government is owned by Unions.
This is true. But remember, it's only THREE unions that own the California government! All the other unions are trade unions who are too busy at their trades to spend 100% of their energy on politics. Those three unions are the Prison Guard Unions (government), Teachers Union (government), and SEIU (minimum wage union).
I've had bad run-ins with all three. My parents were both teachers and hated the teachers union, who forced them to pay dues even though they were not members, and then used those dues in service of partisan Democrat politics. The SEIU wouldn't let me and my siblings work retail part time. Had to pay full union dues, which exceeded part time wages. Hiring managers apologized that it was out of his hands. And I did some work for a prison guard, we had a few beers, and she got drunk and spilled the beans on how it works and how they keep members in line. The prison guard industrial complex ruined west side central valley where it turned sleep agricultural towns into fiefdoms of power.
"The SEIU wouldn’t let me and my siblings work retail part time. Had to pay full union dues, which exceeded part time wages"
I had a similar experience with UFCW, after deducting dues from my gross I was effectively making below minimum wage
My municipality was recently sued over an ordinance declaring properties a 'nuisance' and denying occupancy permits to renters who called the police more than 3x per year. Basically punishing victims of domestic violence who were too poor to own a home.
Bet if you look just a bit, you'll find some group or organization claiming that the very concept of crime [and enforcement] is white supremacy and oppression.
Close the store and tell everyone why.
Moo.
Better yet, close all the stores in California (and stop delivering goods, energy, food, etc.). And tell everyone why.
I'm surprised this hasn't already happened.
"The Sacramento City Attorney's Office has warned Target that its Land Park location could face public nuisance fines if it keeps calling police to report thefts."
1. File this under, "Shit you just can't make up."
2. Maybe if we all go to the Sacramento City Attorney's home and loot it, he'll get the message that maybe, just maybe, stealing from other people isn't such a good idea.
3. ...and then Gruesome Newsom and his fellow fascists wonder why sane people are leaving the Peoples' Republik of Kalifornia in droves.
4. Will the last sane person leaving the Peoples' Republik of Kalifornia please turn off the lights?
Yeah, but those California refugees carry the virus wherever they go.
Worth noting that the Sacramento city attorney has denied the veracity of the report https://sourcingjournal.com/topics/retail/target-sacramento-retail-crime-city-attorney-susana-alcala-wood-cpted-518138/
[quote:] “I was as shocked as anybody else to read that the story was in my office threatened to bring any kind of enforcement action against them, because that’s just not true,” the City Attorney said. “It’s a little bit ridiculous to think that we would take enforcement action against a business for calling the police department.” [unquote]
