Brickbat: Home Sweet Home

Cook County, Illinois, homeowner Darryl Lloyd was stunned when he received a property tax bill for more than $30,000 for his residence. Last year, his bill was a little over $1,800. The tax assessor's office said it miscalculated the value of Lloyd's home and about 4,400 others. They promise these property owners will get corrected tax bills, but Lloyd said he hasn't gotten his yet.

This isn’t a brickbat. It’s not like he’s still on the hook for $30K.
“$30,000, that can’t be right.”
“Um, yes, we apologize, that’s not right.”
“OK.”
“OK. Again, sorry.”
Really, this article should have been, “Chicago continues to intentionally refuse to hire its best and brightest.”
Sadly, they DO hire the best and brightest, of those who will work in Chicago.

Crook County Gonna Crook.
If you think he's not on the hook for an amount between $1,800 and $30K, you're mistaken.
But it will qualify as a BrickBat a year from now when this still isn't resolved.
Wow, Reason really is committed to memoryhole the whole attempted assassination of President Trump.
I'll bite. In those crowds behind The Don, what proportion of the Trumpanzees was female?

The county is totally going to sell those houses at next tax sale.
Hey, that’s what happens when you don’t pay!
"They're not gonna catch us. We're on a mission from God."
Close enough for Kleptocracy looting.
