Protections for the Undocumented
Plus: Putin goes to North Korea, designer babies, YIMBY wins, and more...

Protections for half a million: Early today, the Biden administration announced that it plans to protect the roughly 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens. Under the new policy, those who are illegally here and have been for a decade, who are married to Americans, and who have no criminal record will have an expedited pathway to getting permanent residency and citizenship, free of some of the bureaucratic hurdles that had formerly been in place.
"Marrying an American citizen generally provides a pathway to U.S. citizenship. But people who crossed the southern border illegally—rather than arriving in the country with a visa—must return to their home countries to complete the process for a green card," reports The New York Times. "That means long separations from their spouses and families. The new program allows families to remain in the country while they pursue legal status."
The new plan will be announced at a ceremony later today commemorating the 12th anniversary of former President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which shielded young illegal immigrants from deportation and made it easier for them to obtain permits to be able to work legally. Though DACA has been closed to new applicants since former President Donald Trump tried to end it in 2017—and it's been in a state of legal limbo ever since, providing protections to existing recipients but leaving many feeling uneasy about its fate—President Joe Biden is expected to announce some work protections for DACA recipients in today's speech.
This looks a lot like an attempt to rehabilitate Biden's flagging image on the issue of immigration following his crackdown on asylum seekers at the border just two weeks ago. But, in a sense, it may also be what American voters have the most appetite for: Uncontrolled chaos at the border unsettles many voters, and the immigration issue has been rising to the top of people's priorities lately (if recent polling is any indication). But lots of Democratic voters and fence-sitters do broadly support letting nonviolent people who have already built lives in this country stay here and work—precisely the demographic Biden's plan intends to help.
Perhaps his attempt to split the difference on this issue will win over more voters, especially in crucial swing states that have a lot of mixed-status families, like Arizona. But, the politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if your goal is more Americans who work hard and readily assimilate.
Scenes from Austin: Two years ago, people worried whether Austin was going the way of Los Angeles or San Francisco. Now, it seems like the building boom, coupled with a slowing of real estate transactions due to mortgage rates being high, has cooled costs significantly. "Yes in my backyard" (YIMBY) advocates have, to a degree, gotten their way here, right as developers have poured an awful lot of money into the city.
Austin Real Estate market continuing to struggle.
YoY prices down about 4.1% , so for a $600k house prices have dropped about $24k.

Early today, the Biden administration announced that it plans to protect the roughly 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens.
I'd hate to be roughly spouse number 500,001.
Question: does undocumented also include the marriage itself? I mean, can I claim to be married just because I snuck into somebody's bed?
Do you 'identify' as married? That's the important part.
Just wait until they legalize polyamory and you have one citizen marry 1000 illegals.
epic anniversary fiestas.
A cute little gimmick. Just watch when the illegals sue the citizen for support.

Let's deport all the people who build the houses and find out what happens to housing prices. Great plan!
10-20M "newcomers" (aka slags) needing housing doesn't have any impact on housing whatsoever! Newcomers are ALWAYS net positive, with never any negative impacts at all (so Laken Riley clearly killed herself).
Only brown people can build houses. - Racist Robby
Casual racism of the elite. Construction is below the writing class, therefore only minorities do it.
How did we ever manage before?
It used to be necessary to make a living. Who wants to do framing and roofing in the hot sun when he can just get his bitch pregnant and live for free in her Section 8 apartment?
To be fair, could you imagine Robby trying to do construction?
His hair already identifies as a hard hat.
No, but they tend to make up a large portion of the workforce; so stating a fact isn't racist.
Assuming they are all illegal is.
Illegal immigrants make up a large portion of the home construction workforce? Do you have a source for this, or is this from your experience?
Illegal immigrants make up a large portion of the home construction workforce?
Yes.
Do you have a source for this, or is this from your experience?
Don't know about SaGN, but in my direct personal experience, 20 years in construction, yes.
This puts the number of all immigrants up to 30%
https://www.nbcnews.com/data-graphics/tough-immigration-laws-construction-workers-home-builders-rcna82540
Given labor participation rate this could easily be lowered.
And we are discussing tens of thousands, not millions.
There were more than 67,000 new workers in 2016, compared to 38,900 in 2020.
Was this supposed to rebut something I said?
From the article you linked:
“The lack of immigrant workers has led to a construction shortage, even as supply-chain stoppages and material costs have eased.”
Worth noting that my experience is 100% in CA, which per the article you posted is one of the states with the highest proportion of immigrant labor.
Point being that Robbie is not being racist by observing that deporting all of the illegal immigrant construction workers is going to lead to a construction labor shortage. He is simply stating a fact.
How many housing units would be freed up by deporting, say 1M illegal aliens?
Another valid point. 3M last year demanding housing. 20k estimated immigrant construction workers. Numbers don't add up.
How many housing units would be freed up by deporting, say 1M illegal aliens?
How many different topics of conversation can be raised to avoid addressing the point I'm actually making, which is that Robbie is correct to point out that deporting 30% of the construction force will raise the cost of construction labor?
How many deep breaths do you have to take to recognize that increasing the cost of labor is one of the main reasons people advocate deporting the illegals?
which is that Robbie is correct to point out that deporting 30% of the construction force will raise the cost of construction labor?
You haven’t, neither has Robbie, proven this fact.
It is a bald assertion. Do you think the other 70% of the construction work force has much higher labor costs? Outside of regulatory costs such as ACA.
24.
They really pack em in there.
Do you think the other 70% of the construction work force has much higher labor costs?
Yes. I know so for a fact. That's why so many construction employers employ immigrants. They are cheaper. Part of which is the unseen benefit that they tend to work way, way harder and generally speaking have less of a sense of entitlement.
You know that for a fact in California. And maybe only in your area of California.
Good for you for taking advantage of cheap labor subsidized by the rest of us, I guess.
You know that for a fact in California. And maybe only in your area of California.
Correct. Which is why I made note of that fact. Although Jesse's source indicates that this is also true of TX, which doesn't surprise me.
Maybe blanket statements intended to mean something for the whole country are misguided?
Good for you for taking advantage of cheap labor subsidized by the rest of us, I guess.
I don't make hiring decisions, and I haven't worked for a contractor in ten years. I'm just in the business and providing some facts drawn from my direct experience. I didn't express any opinion regarding the justice of the situation.
But worth noting that, just as with Jesse, you can't have your cake and eat it, too. I.e. you can't argue both that exiling the immigrants won't lead to an increase in wages and that somehow you're subsidizing the cheap labor in CA because the immigrants make less.
Speaking of which, in what way are you subsidizing anything? If a contractor in CA hires a Mexican immigrant to do a job, what in heaven's name does it have to do with you? Don't you live in like Minnesota?
"Yes. I know so for a fact. That’s why so many construction employers employ immigrants. They are cheaper. Part of which is the unseen benefit that they tend to work way, way harder and generally speaking have less of a sense of entitlement."
90%+ of the construction workers in my area, NE FL, are white.
Business is booming.
As for the work ethic bullshit, that's pure anti-white racism.
“and that somehow you’re subsidizing the cheap labor in CA because the immigrants make less.”
Oh, I see. You’re retarded.
“The lack of immigrant workers has led to a construction shortage, even as supply-chain stoppages and material costs have eased.”
You selected the one part of the article that is pure supposition.
You dont think citizens can fill the 20k jobs estimated to go to immigrants? Really?
Just because businesses hire illegals doesn't make the practice just. Especially when costs are born by others.
The savings of using immigrant labor is likely under the costs of government services used as 50% of immigrant households use some form of welfare.
On top of that there is a labor transfer from citizens to immigrants causing a secondary increase to government costs.
Immigrants also do not absorb extra taxes such as the ACA taxes on businesses, but they sure use the medical system.
Stop defending this shit.
"This is how it is done " is not a valid justification for the problems caused by the issue.
You selected the one part of the article that is pure supposition.
It's the central thesis of the article - I recommend reading it.
You dont think citizens can fill the 20k jobs estimated to go to immigrants?
Of course they can. At far greater cost. Which is the point, right? I.e. that illegals are cutting the wages of authorized folks?
Just because businesses hire illegals doesn’t make the practice just.
Who's talking about justice?
Stop defending this shit.
What did I defend other than Robbie's factual assertion that deporting the illegals will raise the price of labor, which is the flip side of your argument that hiring illegals is "unjust" because it deprives authorized people of their right to a higher wage?
It’s the central thesis of the article – I recommend reading it.
I choose the data, not the opinion of a writer lol. I recommend also doing so. This is a sarc like argument.
Of course they can. At far greater cost. Which is the point, right? I.e. that illegals are cutting the wages of authorized folks?
Article doesn’t support. Pure bald assertion. With 70% of the force being non immigrant labor, why would they not go to full immigrant labor if the savings are so great. This is the same dumb arguments democrats use for women’s wage comparisons lol.
What did I defend other than Robbie’s factual assertion that deporting the illegals will raise the price of labor,
Again. Still a bald fucking supposition.
Ironically this is the dumbest of arguments even if you think it is defensible. The labor costs of construction are less than the regulatory costs of a building.
If immigrant labor is so much cheaper, why are they only estimated to be "as much" as 30%? Wouldn't that shift to be the majority work force?
I choose the data, not the opinion of a writer lol.
Not any data I saw. All I see is an article that you posted and then declared came to the opposite conclusion it actually came to. Which I guess is okay when you do it?
You're not as different from sarc as you like to think.
With 70% of the force being non immigrant labor, why would they not go to full immigrant labor if the savings are so great.
Weren't you just now arguing that the numbers of available immigrant laborers is actually not that high? And now you also want to argue that there is a literally infinite supply?
A great deal of construction labor is skilled or semi-skilled. If you have carpentry that needs doing, for example, you need a carpenter. You can't just snap your fingers and make an infinite supply of carpenters appear that you get to choose from - you have to select from what the labor market brings you.
If the immigrants that are coming and working these jobs aren't driving down wages for native born workers, then I'm struggling to see why you're so obsessively animated by this issue.
The labor costs of construction are less than the regulatory costs of a building.
What, in your understanding, does the phrase "regulatory costs of a building" mean? Do you have a guess as to what percentage of construction costs is direct labor? Or was that not in your data set?
Ironically this is the dumbest of arguments even if you think it is defensible.
So, are you arguing that increasing the supply of labor doesn't bring down the cost of labor? And actually going so far as to say that arguing that increasing the supply of labor reduces its cost is superlatively dumb and insupportable? And yet don't you also argue that deporting all the illegals is necessary for justice and fair wages for native born folks?
How can you possibly hold these two ideas in your mind simultaneously while accusing other people of being incoherent?
“Worth noting that my experience is 100% in CA,”
That was going to be my follow up question.
My 30 years+ in construction agrees with yours, basically in Mid-Atlantic region 20 years ago this trend started.
basically in Mid-Atlantic region 20 years ago this trend started
That calcs. The last all-native-born carpentry crew I had on a job was in 2010 (subcontractor), and the outfit went belly-up before the job was done. The guys literally brought folding chairs to the site with them, and they would sit around for hours at a time just shooting the shit on a Prevailing Wage job. I was very unshocked when they went out of business.
Roughly 27% of the construction workforce are immigrants of all types.
Like 12% are illegal immigrants.
Deport them all.
Agree. As long as we allow illegal aliens to stay in our country and eventually become citizens, they will continue to flood across the border. This is willfully encouraging an invasion of our country and should be considered treason.
Soave, and all pro-unlimited immigration people, think the only people who do labor in the US are here illegally.
Illegal immigrants aren't the bottleneck on new housing - it's government regulation.
That, inflation, interest rates . . .
And the magic housing fairy, who can create attractive condos in hip neighborhoods that cost so little even a part-time barista can easily afford it.
Are you trying to outdo them for ridiculous overgeneralizations?
Ignorant self-righteous asshole.

A business that requires labor below the market clearing price is a failed business that would in normal circumstances disappear.
A whole country where people with a straight face will say they require foreign labor to build fucking houses or grow food is...
A business that requires labor below the market clearing price is a failed business that would in normal circumstances disappear.
And they’re keeping those illegal labor prices low by subsidizing them with $2000+ welfare checks, free medical and free housing. An illegal who is working makes far more in total than a legal immigrant or citizen working in the same field for market based wages.
What’s going on right now is the opposite of the free market, and the phony libertarians here are lying when they pretend it’s not.
Correct.
We have a crony, parasite market.
Not a free one.
Well backed with the fact 51% of immigrant households are on welfare.
"Illegal" immigrant. It's an important distinction.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/09/01/immigrant-welfare-use-report/71517072/
I don’t believe you are correct. I did a quick search and found a 2015 USA Today article (granted, that’s not current, but USA Today is also not a hardline-immigration publication, either) that said the following:
About 51% of immigrant-led households receive at least one kind of welfare benefit, including Medicaid, food stamps, school lunches and housing assistance, compared to 30% for native-led households, according to the report from the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that advocates for lower levels of immigration.
Those numbers increase for households with children, with 76% of immigrant-led households receiving welfare, compared to 52% for the native-born.
That is correct. Legal immigrants also use government programs at higher rates than citizens.
…and vote for the [Na]tional So[zi]alist party at a 70%+ margin.
Not that that would be any surprise.
“Welfare (stolen money) recipients vote for more stolen money.”
Till all the Gov-Guns eat the pasture dry.
The conquer and consume party.
Because 'Guns' don't make sh*t.
It's a zero-sum resources game.

Mass deportation is now popular.
A majority of registered voters favor “a new national program to deport all undocumented immigrants currently living in the U.S. illegally,” 62-38%.
A MAJORITY OF HISPANICS favor mass deportation, 53-47%.

Who knew that people who bucked up and did the long haul to get citizenship would have a problem. Even Obama commented that it’s not fair to jump the line.
Just bought 500,000 Democratic votes.
When my stepfather married my mom, he had to go to a Mexican Embassy or Consulate to apply for his Permanent Residency, which at the time was considered the same as returning to Mexico, I suppose. Once that was all cleared up, then he still had to wait several years, I believe, before he could apply for citizenship.
So, this doesn't sound all that different from what we had previously. Granted, that process for my stepfather began about 24 years ago.
Daca was an illegal order, there is no such thing as a Daca citizen
That's the odd part. A "discretion" on prosecution does not remotely equate to citizenship. The President still has zero power to offer that.
But pen and phone!
(and a compliant meat puppet ventriloquist dummy)
DACA wasn't a prosecutorial decision which has to be individualized. DACA also granted positive benefits, not just declining of charges.
Shh, the President ruling by decree and bureaucracies going beyond the limits of their authorizing statutes is good when we like the policy result.
Wasn’t this one of those rules that Obama created through executive order but a judge ruled Trump couldn’t undo?
"Should we welcome a new kind of commercial product that will allow some people—mostly rich ones—to have healthier, happier and cleverer children? And should you—the reader—seek out such a product for yourself?"
Give the govvy a few years. It'll be a Brave New World.
There was already a movie about this- GATTACA
A movie about genetically selecting kids where nobody is morbidly obese? It's like the birth of a nation for fatphobs!
In a world with no lizzo, we all win
Genetics are only part of the equation with weight. Fat genes didn't naturally start to become widespread in the 80's. That would require fat men in the 50's, 60's and 70's to be getting a much larger proportion of the pussy available.
Or was it the widespread adoption of vaccines in the ‘50’s?
People even in the early 1980s were skinny, especially by today’s standards. They didn’t really blimp out until the latter part of the decade and into the 1990s.
Genetic changes take time.
Low Fat dieting did it.
I thought I was losing weight replacing a steak with a huge plate of pasta
This
Yep. Replaced protein with carbs; sugar with HFCS and other artificial sweeteners; fats with seed oils; etc.
Maybe some retarded government should create a food pyramid that teaches children to eat all of the wrong things.
Most of the food in this country is full of poison.
Chemicals!
I beg to differ. The ability to store calories more efficiently as lipids would have definitely provided an evolutionary benefit, thus, those that are more capable of storing excess calories efficiently would have been selected for, when famines were a common occurrence. Once famine was largely eliminated, this trait contributes to a greater propensity to obesity. Evolution hasn’t had time to correct to a society where calories are abundant and available year round. Humans evolved in an environment where calories were often scarce and generally seasonally available (e.g. more calories available during the wet season, and less during the dry season, and once we moved into the northern latitudes, available in summer and fall, less available in winter and early spring. And largely until the 19th century this is a condition that persisted for most humans, especially in arid or temperate to arctic environments. The railroads and then electrical refrigeration began to end the seasonality of available calories, while also helping to avoid famine.
Additionally, until the mid-20th century, only about half of Americans had electricity in their houses, which meant that they had to rely on other food storage methods, which again contributed to some seasonality of available calories.
Maybe you misunderstood what I was alluding to. The population's genetic propensity to gain weight didn't change between pre-1980s and now.
No, but if you look at the data, average weights were increasing, as were heights, from about the mid-19th century onward. As was the percentage of those considered obese (which used to be something largely associated strongly with wealth). From 1950-1980, the country went from less than 50% of the population having electricity to 99.9%. Also, if you looked at the idealized male physique in the 1950s, a bit of a gut actually was considered attractive. Additionally, the propensity of the obesity genes likely would have increased each year, especially after major catastrophic events such as the first world war, the depression, and world war 2, especially among children, as children who were more efficient at storing calories were more likely to survive to reproduce. These would have been the very ones producing the baby boomer generation. It doesn't necessarily follow that because you have a genetic propensity towards obesity that you will be obese. In fact, calling it a propensity for obesity is a misnomer, as it wasn't obesity but the ability to store calories that was genetically selected for. However, once food scarcity, and manual labor intensity to secure food and shelter, decreased, this trait led some to store to many calories.
Brown is such an ugly color
I think UPS might beg to differ.
Given the recent "awakening" at Harvard of donor-parents suddenly realizing that the cream of the crop of designer students is Keffiyeh-wearing, bare-midrift queer supporting Palestinians who would him off a roof merely for existing, I'm pretty sure "cleverer" is not the correct word.
Happily welcoming the dehumanizing commodification of children. Time to celebrate!
Planned parenthood has been doing that for almost 100 years.
We should be able to rent children instead of having to make a long-term commitment.

You don't hate big tech enough
Is this site run by Dr. Robert Epstein? I've seen him on some podcasts in the last year talking about how big tech, and Google in particular, puts its thumb on the scale to help Dems win elections by largely notifying left leaning individuals to vote on election day and skewing search results to favor the Dems.
Yes it is. He also recently published a paper where he was able skew undecided voters 60% in eighter direction
THE LAW IS THE LAW AND SHALL NOT BE QUESTIONED!
Unless it's Trump. Then the law is unjust and he's totally innocent.
So broken.
Said no one ever.
Just how bad is your TDS? Does it vary with how much you imbibe?
TDS? Sorry but I’m not one of Trump’s Deranged Supporters who declares some laws to be immutable and others unjust based solely on the man who is charged with the crime. That's your wheelhouse.
Nobody does that here besides your strawmen, you shitty drunken troll.
You kidding? All of Trump’s Deranged Supporters have declared immigration law to be immutable, while all the laws Trump has been charged with are unjust. Maybe you don’t know this, but he was lawfully convicted in New York. He was convicted by a prosecutor who ran for office on a platform of finding a crime, but that’s legal. And he actually did break the poorly written law under which he was convicted. All of that is crap, but legal. I think it is unjust, even though I can’t stand the man or his followers. Why? Because, unlike you, I have principles. Unlike you who judges everything based upon the people involved and who you like or dislike. There is no fundamental difference between you and the leftists you hate. You're both unprincipled scum.
""but he was lawfully convicted ""
True of everyone who was wrongfully convicted.
Not necessarily true. Juries make mistakes all the time. In this case they didn't. The mistake was the law itself.
Then it wasn’t lawful.
Ditto what Don't look said.
Also keep in mind, some of those wrong convictions were upheld in appellate courts. Twice ruled and still wrong.
Dlam is an idiot. Lawful and just are not synonyms. What Hitler did was lawful. He got laws passed and people enforced them. Certainly wasn't just. I'm not comparing the Bragg to Hitler. Just making the point that we have a legal system, not a justice system. And Dlam is a fucking dunce.
Seeing as most legal analysts say the jury trial on NYC was both unconstitutional and had statutory issues....
I guess I’m not “muted” anymore.
""I guess I’m not “muted” anymore.""
Either that or he's player hating because I mentioned you.
You can be if you want to be. It will make you cool and respected by the resident liars, retards, morons, idiots and Trumpians. But I repeat myself.
It’s hard to keep track of who you’re lying about having muted.
It was really unfair of some of y’all to modify your screen names ; that confused the fuck out of him.
Juries make mistakes all the time. In this case they didn’t.
Lol. Bookmarked.
It was a political ruling you retarded statist fuck. Even CNN and NYT stated so. The constitutional issues brought up dont seem to matter to you at all.
Look at you justifying lawfare.
Imagine defending the criminalization of an NDA with no evidence actually presented, relying on a serial perjurer named Cohen and declaring the jury got it right. Lol.
Imagine someone caught with 20 joints in a baggie and being charged with 20 counts of possession and 20 counts of intent to distribute.
Every liberal would call bullshit on that and rightly so. This is an area where liberal and libertarians once came together. I've long been for prosecutorial reform. Many liberals stood next to me on that issue, but they have seem to disappear when it involves a man called Trump. So did they abandon the reform? Or are they making an exception for Trump? The latter is a clear signal regarding lawfare.
Liberal =\= leftist. And the only principle of leftists is power.
Imagine someone caught with 20 joints in a baggie and being charged with 20 counts of possession and 20 counts of intent to distribute.
No need to imagine. It happens all the time. It’s how they force people into plea bargains. Difference here was that Trump took it to court and put the absurdity into the news.
Many liberals stood next to me on that issue, but they have seem to disappear when it involves a man called Trump.
Trump really separates principled people from everyone else, and shows how leftists and Trumpians are fundamentally the same.
Sarc. Can you tell us the sources you're using for your analysis? Lol.
""No need to imagine. It happens all the time. It’s how they force people into plea bargains.""
Forcing people into plea bargains is something I thought justice reformers wanted to do away with.
""Trump really separates principled people from everyone else, and shows how leftists and Trumpians are fundamentally the same.""
Obviously you missed my point.
“Obviously you missed my point.”
Which was what? That emotional leftists abandoned their principles because of their hatred for Trump? I'm saying that emotional Trump supporters abandoned their principles because of their whatever for Trump. I don't understand it, but it's right there. They're all emotional and without logic or reason. Leftist and Trumpians. The lot of them.
""Trump supporters abandoned their principles because of their whatever for Trump.""
What principle would that be? No one is asking immigrants to follow unjust laws. Immigration laws being unjust is your opinion. But most of us, including you, believe the Trump conviction was unjust. That's a difference.
Stop making your strawmen as retarded as you are buddy.
And he actually did break the poorly written law under which he was convicted.
What crime sarc?
Why? Because, unlike you, I have principles.
YOU HAVE NO FUCKING PRINCIPLES WHATSOEVER, SARCASMIC.
You’re a cheap shitty troll. Nothing more.
People with principles don’t say political prosecution is legal when it is clearly unconstitutional.
People with principles don’t cheer when politicians try to have their political opponent removed from the ballot.
People with principles don’t lie about illegal immigration and try to constantly conflate it with legal immigration while smearing everyone who disagrees as “racist”, because that is the only way that they think they can win an argument.
People with principles don’t repeat terrorist propaganda like it’s the truth just to attack the Jews.
People with principles don’t make excuses for a two-tiered justice system.
People with principles don’t troll and shitpost, and they don’t act aggrieved when they get pushback for trolling and shitposting.
You have succeeded in becoming Jesse Jr by making a post with so many lies in it that I'm not going to bother breaking it down and responding to them one by one.
Lol. What lies outside you denting your past comments?
Of course you won't, because you don't have any excuses for your behavior, you cheap troll.
Remember that time sarc said he agreed the NY charges were bullshit? To bad, he doesn’t.
I believe he has stated that several times, while also celebrating the trial because Sarc is 100% the demographic the current LP candidate is meant to appeal to, LINOs, libertarians in name only. Leftist proggies who also enjoy ass sex and pot.
BTW, LP, you lost another voter, who supported you in 2016 and 2020, I was leaning against voting LP, and then you clinched it with this proggies wearing a Libertarian suit you nominated.
But sarc has principles. Just ask him.
And you coined it!
Dang it.
Haha
“Trump’s Deranged Supporters”
Oh! So clever, did you coin that yourself?
You're the one championing Presidents overriding Congress if they do not like their answers.
?
Remember how you pretended to be against the novel legal construction against Trump? Almost like it was a lie.
What's funny is democrats can't seem to understand why they are losing black votes. For years dems have been talking about reform for those who were "justice involved". Specifically those who are justice involved are not discriminated against. In NYC it recently became illegal to ask for criminal history when applying for a lease. Call it justice restoration for those justice involved.
Now forward to calling out Trump for being a felon. It's a 180 degree turn from supporting those who are justice involved. The message to those who are justice involved is we don't care except to get your vote. People notice that.
The interesting thing is when I have pointed this out to a few liberal friends they brush it off and comment that it's really just about Trump not realizing they are proving what conservatives have been saying.
Hey, double standards are still standards, right?
Particularly when they are the only standards one has.
I even changed my handle because of this, then last week “he unmuted me” and said I was lying about it, lol.
ORANGE MAN BAD!
Shortly, illegal immigrants will be paying US citizens to marry them, and the cartels will facilitate this for a small fee. Maybe 10% for the Gran Chico.
If a us citizen marries an illegal they should automatically be concidered a citizen of the other country.
If sf is so upset about whites being superior have they thought about asking the blacks to be better?
Hey, abstract standards and concepts like "better" are racist!
Then, why are progressives and the woke left always demanding that we 'do better'?
Uh, that is code for "white people should go extinct". Except of course for the elite ruling class.
We need to select the best Black embryos.
You know who else bred black people for desirable traits?
Wilt Chamberlain?
"Should we welcome a new kind of commercial product that will allow some people—mostly rich ones—to have healthier, happier and cleverer
childrenlife? And should you—the reader—seek out such a product for yourself?"Why not?
Can we get rid of the ones with the gay gene? Ohh wait the left doesn't like the genetic argument anymore
And have we actually discovered a gay gene? I know they've insisted for decades it's genetic, but I don't think we've identified any gay alleles, and we've mapped the human genome awhile back. Also, the evolutionary argument tends to state any such allele would have very limited benefit and thus unlikely to be passed on. And the so called other animals in homosexual relationships almost always turns out to be a dominance and or lack of opposite sex partner cases.
Blond hair blue eyed Lebensborn.
Why not?
I know, right? Because the Elite would never, out of fad or panic, utterly, and in the most previously unimaginably horrible way possible, fucking decimate human potential for the foreseeable future. Well, not *again* anyway.
Feels like breeding pokemon for the best IVs.
So Putin is going hat in hand to beg for weapons from North Korea.
I thought that we were supposed to be afraid of the "big bad" Russian Bear? At least that's what I get from the MSM who has their panties in a twist over a Russian Destroyer and submarine off the coast of the US. Oh yes. The Destroyer had a missile that supposedly goes 7,000 mph. So what? If it chooses to fire one it will live a short but exciting life for about two minutes.
You were the kid that shove glue up your nose aren't you?
I don't recall anyone here saying wee need to fear Russia. People have pointed out that Russia is a nuclear power that will use nukes if backed into a corner. Deescaltion is preferable to nuclear bombs. The Ukraine war has been compleatly manufactured for the sake of the elites in the US and Europe.
All that being said if Russia nuked DC I would send putin a thank you card.
Putin could start with Brussels.
You chumbyists are fucking morons.
Yes, your lord and savior goes on rants about our inferior military.
And that's not even where Jim was going with his post you defensive faggot. Learn some reading comprehension. He is on your side and mocking the elites for idk, Joe Biden sacrificing all of Ukraine to hide his criminal enterprise or whatever you propagandists are on about.
LOL, this must be that high-minded appeal to "ideas" that you were puffing about five days ago.
Have a few issues with the writeup.
1) Cheering on the executive stomping over federal law through a unitary executive is not libertarian. You guys always mention how congress defers powers to the executive yet the moment it aligns with Koch open border views you support it.
2) the Obama EO for DACA was ruled illegal as well as congress did not grant the positive benefits it utilized. It was held up because of political activists on the court under the guise of animus. Youre support a new law from an EO that can't be undone by future presidents. Imagine supporting this precedence.
3) Two thirds of Americans support deportation due to the costs and crime brought from unchecked migration.
https://www.floridadaily.com/poll-62-of-voters-support-deporting-illegal-immigrants/
Even a higher percentage are against the government spending on this group.
And 4) you keep this lie they just want to work but immigrant households use government resources at a higher rate than citizens. If they just want to work they wouldn't be taking from taxpayers.
Two thirds of Americans support deportation due to the costs and crime brought from unchecked migration.
How much would mass deportation cost?
Seeing as current budget for the issue is a 10th for what the yearly costs are, less. It is pretty fucking easy to do it as a secondary violation.
Not sure why some of you guys think it has to be armed door to door searches.
For example DACA has almost 70k registrants that have a criminal background. Almost 10%. Deport criminals first and you have 2M.
Plan for 150k a year like Joe's Parole program providing flights.
Not sure why some of you guys think it has to be armed door to door searches.
It's what they are fed by the MSM and the progs. With Trump leading the battering ram.
Almost every state level immigration check is solely a secondary charge. They act as if check points are going up.
Not sure why some of you guys think it has to be armed door to door searches.
I understand that my question reads like an attack on the idea of deportation, but it was really meant as a legitimate question to get reasonable estimates from anyone that has researched the issue or at least stimulate some discussion about it. I am assuming it will cost $billions/year because it's the feds and they start with B's if not T's.
Nothing, if you cut of any public assistance (I can remember a time when it was illegal to give them welfare) and watch how quickly they opt to self deport. Those that don't have jobs and are taking care of themselves. I can live with them...we have enough of our own sponges we don't need to import more.
I wish this was the plan
"This looks a lot like an attempt to rehabilitate Biden's flagging image on the issue of immigration following his crackdown on asylum seekers at the border just two weeks ago."
Somebody on Earth actually believes this is real?
How the hell can anybody be that stupid?
To quote biden
"we already have a hotshot nigger mayor, we don't need a hotshot nigger senator"
Liz wasn't informed of the DHS memos sent to Border Patrol that basically told them to ignore the press release.
'How the hell can anybody be that stupid?'
They are called "Democrats".
You (D)on't understand, do you? 🙂
But, the politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if your goal is more Americans who work hard and readily assimilate.
They are Americans the same way transwomen are women.
..readily assimilate.
Still wearing headscarves? Then you are not assimilating.
Still belong to the Sonora Cartel? You're not assimilating.
Except for the fact that they didn't come here in "good faith"...if immigrants want to be Americans, then be Americans:
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
"Let us say to the immigrant not that we hope he will learn English, but that he has got to learn it. Let the immigrant who does not learn it go back. He has got to consider the interest of the United States or he should not stay here. He must be made to see that his opportunities in this country depend upon his knowing English and observing American standards. The employer cannot be permitted to regard him only as an industrial asset.
"We must in every way possible encourage the immigrant to rise, help him up, give him a chance to help himself. If we try to carry him he may well prove not well worth carrying. We must in turn insist upon his showing the same standard of fealty to this country and to join with us in raising the level of our common American citizenship.
"This is a nation — not a polyglot boarding house. There is not room in the country for any 50-50 American
"The effort to keep our citizenship divided against itself, by the use of the hyphen and along the lines of national origin is certain to a breed of spirit of bitterness and prejudice and dislike between great bodies of our citizens. If some citizens band together as German-Americans or Irish-Americans, then after a while others are certain to band together as English-Americans or Scandinavian-Americans, and every such banding together, every attempt to make for political purposes a German-American alliance or a Scandinavian-American alliance, means down at the bottom an effort against the interest of straight-out American citizenship, an effort to bring into our nation the bitter Old World rivalries and jealousies and hatreds."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
Teddy Roosevelt, ladies and gentlemen: libertarian hero.
"Should we welcome a new kind of commercial product that will allow some people—mostly rich ones—to have healthier, happier and cleverer children? And should you—the reader—seek out such a product for yourself?"
Facts not in evidence. See the Bidens.
Is there a group more racist than progressives?
It seems "being an adult" is "white supremacy" which is pretty damned insulting.
The KKK thought more of black folks than Robin DeAngelo and Ibram X Kendi
Progressives aren't racist. They're the non-racists. You see, if you don't consider people of other races to be inferior and in need of a helping hand from white taxpayers and white people in government, then you're the racist. Racists think everyone of all races should all play on the same field with the same rules.
White Man's Burden never seems to end.
Hell, David Duke joined a pro-Gaza protest. Might be a sign that there is something a bit afoot.
To paraphrase Dennis Prager: Nazis, at least, had the moral sense to be ASHAMED of what they did to Jews and try to conceal it. This is not the case with Hamas at all.
Racists like those who pretend every immigrant they've met is the hardest worker they've ever seen in Maine and would never use government handouts and just want jobs.
You virtue signal on the topic more than AOC lol.
If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules…that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago, and a racist today. [Thomas Sowell]
tell me you're just trolling, right? = Racists think everyone of all races should all play on the same field with the same rules.
Read MO's comment.
So many things fucked about this chart, as we have seen before.
Also, imagine a white person posting this chart and just switching "white supremacy" to "chinese/japanese/korean/jewish" and getting away with it.
Um, they already did that. Or did you miss the de-minoritizing of Asians and the current antisemitism fad?
Ah, the good old traits of white supremacy chart.
Poorly thought out. It was presented to me in two anti-racism trainings I was mandated to attend at work. No one understood it, the trainers couldn't really explain it to the point they started calling the questions push back and an example of white supremacy. When you do that you lose your audience and are no longer an affective agent of influence. Not a good position for a trainer to be in.
I was thinking about being a bit of an asshole and asking does adherence to timeliness, and the written word mean I don't have to be at work on time or follow agency policy.
"the trainers couldn’t really explain it to the point they started calling the questions push back and an example of white supremacy"
Pursuit of knowledge is white supremacy now. Add it to the list!
The public school system is cult indoctrination, prove me wrong.

Hey, why even have Democracy! if we can't use it to take money from ignorant peasants and use it to fund Holy Vestments?
I just had a client ask if our office would be open . . .
I would support free and mandatory 100ug doses of fentanal for all those that support the pride flag
This. Severely disappointed that especially for gay members of the intelligence community, the nails were not of the coffin variety.
Jacinta Allan announced this month that state MP Tim Richardson would serve as the inaugural Parliamentary Secretary for Men’s Behavior Change – the first position of its kind in the country. The appointment was in response to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese calling gender-based violence a “national crisis” and promising greater government action. First, Australia blamed guns for violent crime; now they are blaming men in general.

Domestic violence only goes one way.
Highest rates of domestic violence are lesbos
A while back I saw an old girlfriend in the store and when I got home I googled her name for the heck of it. Turns out she’d been arrested for domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. She's neither lesbian nor a police officer.
But she was smart to have gotten away from you.
Another made up sarc-ecdote.
"sarc-ecdote"
I'm going to steal that. A perfect descriptor for stories like this and his Maine MAGA outbreak.
As long as you recognize that I coined it.
Another fake story.
Sarc is nothing if not aspirational.
How dare you question his truth!? And during pride month no less!
She had 5 illegal alien hunter bumper stickers.
How dare I question a lying troll who has never made a truthful statement in all his years of posting on tReason?
edit: she is a great example of why you don't stick it in crazy
No one cares about your non-existent girlfriend.
"How dare I question a lying troll who has never made a truthful statement in all his years of posting on tReason?"
You are the lying troll who has never made a truthful statement in all his years of posting here. It's like you forget that everyone here knows exactly who you are.
Says the guy who, after finding out I’d been impersonated for a long time, decided he didn’t care and still hates me for things the impersonator said. Because it’s easier than being honest, considerate, or otherwise human. To you those things are weaknesses.
Yes, it’s always Tulpa.
I keep forgetting that there has only been one victim in the world and his name is Trump.
Given your responses, one would think that you’re the only victim ever in the history of the world. All the “mean girls” just love picking on little Sarc.
Why don't you just mute him?
I doubt Sarc can quit any of us. It’s Brokesarc Mountain.
It's never Tulpa you drunken Troll.
It's always you.
When you're not deliberately lying about it, it's only because you've drunkenly forgotten.
You've blamed others for your own posts, stolen nicks and spoofed dozens of people here including me.
You're such fucking garbage.
So you’ve gone back to believing that the impersonator you uncovered was me the whole time. Not surprising. You’ve always attacked the truth when it conflicted with the narrative. Just like the leftists you hate.
What impersonator. It was you fucking spoofing me as the mute button demonstrated and you even admitted it.
Lying fuck.
I wonder what Tulpa’s opinion of 5-30-24 is?
If Tulpa didn't exist Sarcasmic would have to invent him.
Another fake story.
Common sense testicle controls.
And nobody needs the thing that goes up.
It does have a menacing appearance.
Mine is as heavy as 10 boxes that you might be moving.
But, the politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if your goal is more Americans who work hard and readily assimilate.
Politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if you need a larger tax base to funnel more money through a meat grinder in the Ukraine too.
And if you need to buy votes!
But why buy votes when you can rent them?
Right. There's "(setting) politics aside" and then there's "(setting) moral precepts aside".
“Putting politics aside, just agree with my politics.”

The "white supremacy culture" thing has been going on for years in SF.
"While it's widely seen as important and justified to push to remove the names of slave owners like Washington and other figures from schools,"
Remember when people were called crazy for thinking the whole "historical figure removal" thing would come for George Washington? I do. Now it's common sense, apparently.
The new plan will be announced at a ceremony later today...
Announced by the president with his usual eloquence, I'm sure.
Where's Jackie? Is she here?
Should we welcome a new kind of commercial product that will allow some people—mostly rich ones—to have healthier, happier and cleverer children?

The FTC won't jump in until there are four global firms leading the industry - and one is led by an outspoken dude that the administration really can't stand.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit North Korea and attempt to curry favor there in order to secure more weapons for his war in Ukraine.
We are going to get to the point that Russia is someone else's proxy in a proxy war.

The European Council has taken a proposal to force mandatory scanning of all photos and videos sent through private messengers...
Send the Eurotrash bureaucrats your dick pics.
Does that include the bobs and vagine?
You mean "bonus hole"?
With all the middle eastern immigrants vagine has become vagaheena.
'"Yes in my backyard" (YIMBY) advocates have, to a degree, gotten their way here, right as developers have poured an awful lot of money into the city.'
The opposite of NIMBY is YIYBY (Yes in Your Back Yard). But good gracious, still not in mine.
'But, the politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if your goal is more Americans who work hard and readily assimilate.'
Tell you what. I will consider supporting this ethic if we couple it with a program to expel people who don't want to work hard or assimilate, regardless of their birth place.
Yeah. In the news stories in metro DC, there’s always the mother of a Hispanic teen who was born in the U.S. complaining about his arrest, in Spanish. You’d think after a decade here maybe they’d learn English. And builders and folks who run restaurants have to learn Spanish because their employees don’t speak English.
I am also thinking of the purple-haired progressive spawn who only speak English with a Marxist accent.
Are you talking about the obnoxious vocal fry?
"But, the politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if your goal is more Americans who work hard and readily assimilate."
Now, if only they had followed the rules like 1M or so others do every year, instead of cutting in line in front of those more patient, law-abiding citizens-to-be.
And, I'm not filled with sympathy for their plight of *gasp* having to wait outside the country while their potentially (and now far more likely to be) sham marriages are checked. Being away from one's spouse is WHOLLY an issue they brought upon themselves when the broke immigration laws.
Also, that word "undocumented". I loathe it.
I believe the euphemism used most often is "undocumented immigrant." But that is often misleading. Sometimes they have documents --forged or stolen. And they are often not immigrants--intending to integrate--but simply aliens residing within the country.
Of course, this turn of phrase lends itself to making drug dealers "undocumented pharmacists" and car thieves "undocumented drivers."
For the people in the "No person is illegal." camp, I could be persuaded to use the term "unauthorized alien" as a kinder/gentler alternative to "illegal alien". They are aliens and not immigrants, as they have not gone through immigration, and they are not authorized to be here. It is a simple statement of fact.
If they broke the law to get here, they are criminals, not Americans.
The San Francisco Unified School District provides training to staff that labels "perfectionism" and "individualism" as characteristics of "white supremacy culture."

More important question: can we de-gender unimplanted embryos so that they can live with more genital justice (and we can have the most virtue-signaling personal accessory)?

Joe needs to get a move on if he's gonna get those new spouses on the voting roles.
What am I saying? They're almost certainly already there and already voted for Joe last time!
According to the most recent study I read, only about 5%-13% of the ~20 million or so non-citizens in the country are estimated to illegally vote in a Presidential election. But, that's still a total of between 1 and 3 million illegal votes, just from non-citizens.
https://www.justfacts.com/news_non-citizen_voter_registration
Wow. I just read the whole article. If true, it is scary how much of an effect illegal voting can and has been on our election outcomes.
Not that I agree with how Allsides.com categorizes all news sources, but I checked to see if they show a lean-right or right bias for Just Facts, and it came up as center.
'San Francisco Unified School District provides training to staff that labels “perfectionism” and “individualism” as characteristics of “white supremacy culture”'
Ha! Remember when the Smithsonian hosted an exhibit with the same message (and then quickly removed it and tried to pretend it never happened)?
Look at some of the stuff on there, its pretty spot on for what Nazi's (and others) have said about Jews.
Probably safe though, its not like anyone is talking about decolonizing white countries.
I learned from the anti racist dems that blacks are a monolith hive mind, incapable of independant thought or action
Or showing up on time.
Anyone who says black are bad at math has never seen a drug dealer determining how much to cut the product, calculating prices, and converting from ounces to grams in their head.
Btw people who claim perfectionism is a trait of white supremacy actually prefer someone close to prefect when undergoing risky surgeries.
Left Supremacy Culture:
"Anyone who doesn't give me my way at all times when I demand it is oppressing me."
Thus "far-right". Also MAGA, alt-right, Nazi, fascist, etc. And all illegitimate and not worthy of citizenship.

French far right pulls manifesto that included controversial Russia, NATO plans
The now-deleted documents proposed a closer “alliance” with Russia and exiting NATO.

Putin actually endorsed Biden, too. Of course, that was before the ridiculous 10-year security pact with Ukraine.
turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.

turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.

turd is too stupid to read what he links; they are usually the opposite of what he thinks the headline says.

President Barack Obama was caught on camera on Monday assuring outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he will have "more flexibility" to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election.
Obama, during talks in Seoul, urged Moscow to give him "space" until after the November ballot, and Medvedev said he would relay the message to incoming Russian president Vladimir Putin.
The unusually frank exchange came as Obama and Medvedev huddled together on the eve of a global nuclear security summit in the South Korean capital, unaware their words were being picked up by microphones as reporters were led into the room.
Barry Obama, MAGA guy.
turd, liar.
Right. The American voter was given a clear choice between an antichoice mystical harridan plus equally mystical dummy and a Black Democrat. When that failed, Pavlovian billboards and Obama-Is-Satan agitprop sought to condition voters to again plunk for asset-forfeiture prohibitionism, banking panics, market crashes and lengthy recession, but the Black Democrat was better than another GOP Crash and Depression OR an antichoice libertarian. That Russians had installed yet another dictator-for-life was simply par for the course over there.
Fuck off pedo.
“Unsettled” – get it, read it. The climate catastrophists get a dose of reality.
none of it matters because that movie said Obama's just going to turn the internets off and kill us all anyway
Leave it to Squeaky Fromme 2.0 to parrot wrong information in a quote. Ayn Rand entered the USA on a visa in 1926, when John Barrymore starred in The Sea Beast at the moving pictures. In 1929, engaged to Frank O'Connor she had to leave the US, cross into Mexico and re-enter almost immediately with a new visa.
FOAD, asshole.
1926 and '29. Old Hank is getting a little more current in his references.
Stewardess, does someone here speak Retard?
Re-entry with a fresh visa gave Ayn Rand front-row seat to see Herbert Hoover, Wesley Livsey Jones, Harry Anslinger and their
“new race” minions enforce a ban on trade and production that wrecked the US economy–then use a “moratorium” to push a prohibitionist “Limitation Convention” to anger Germans into supporting the Hitler Party. Republicans also banned peyote and mescaline in 1929. Yet when was the last time you saw MAGAts brag about that?
Hank, it would be courteous to the rest of us here if you’d put your post through a Retard to English translator first before posting. Thanks in advance.
Peyote and mescaline weren’t banned until 1967 under the Johnston administration with a Democratic Senate and House majority, you lying old fuck.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/agricultural-and-biological-sciences/peyote
Everything is made-up bullshit with you, isn’t it. You're like Shrike's great-grandfather.
But, the politics of it aside, it's probably also the right thing to do if your goal is more Americans who work hard and readily assimilate.
Is it really, Liz Wolfe?
You assume the illegal aliens want to assimilate. You have the wrong 'A' word. The 'A' word you meant was 'Accommodate'. Illegals do not want to assimilate, they want we Americans to accommodate and cater to their law breaking behavior. No thank you.
Go the fuck home, and come to my country through the front fucking door.
I know that charity and goodwill means seeing a man in need and inviting him into my home for food and shelter. If the same man crawls through an open window and helps himself to the contents of my pantry and trashes my home, then calling the police and hoping he goes to jail is not a crime against humanity.
It behooves us all to distinguish between immigrants and illegal border-jumpers. Anyone, no matter what race or original nationality, who comes to this country legally; who strives for citizenship; who embraces our language & culture while keeping and respecting their own traditions; who wants to help keep this country great--I welcome him with open arms and call him a fellow American.
Those who sneak into this country illegally; who break immigration, employment, tax, zoning and even basic traffic laws on a daily basis; who reject our culture and retreat into barrios and ethnic enclaves; who demand taxpayer-funded social services not even available to citizens in good standing--I have little sympathy for them and their "plight".
Most of the tens of thousands of illegal aliens I have served fled economic collapse caused by Hoover-Nixon-Reagan-Biden prohibition laws that had completely wrecked most South American economies by the time voters threw Holy War Bush out of office. Many college-educated citizens the world over cannot get U.S. visas because "our" mystical fanatics paid "their" politicians to prosecute them for plant leaves. Anyone on a visa busted for seeds or a roach is defined as a MORAL TURPITUDE criminal and run out of These States to someplace the DEA already looted into bankruptcy.
Not to disagree, but you're also overlooking the dishonest "borders/equality for me but not for thee"/"BOAF SIDEZ" part of the argument as well.
If you're an American citizen that wants to forego taxes and welfare, work for less than minimum wage, or start a company that offers productive work at wages otherwise deemed illegal... people used to say "It's a free country." Now, you're a wage-slaving, tax dodger... unless you snuck in from a different country, then you are an unbridled economic benefit... presumably because of magic dirt and not any sort of dishonest, divisive, false-equality, racist/anti-racist narratives.
Yep, while it is certainly true that many of the illegal aliens have been in this country for some time, working hard and trying to be a respectable part of the community. But the fact remains that they are constantly violating any number of laws and an amnesty for illegal aliens implicitly forgives these violations. If I violated the same laws, I'd be fined thousands of dollars and put into prison for several years. But many people (and politicians) seem to want to grant them eventual citizenship and all the benefits thereof instead.
First they knowingly and with forethought violate any of several immigration laws when they enter this country: they come without visas, they do not come through a legal port-of-entry, they bypass customs, they are not registered and fingerprinted as required by Title 8 of Code of Federal Regulations (8 CFR). That is, there is little or no presumption of lawful admission as required by 8 CFR.
Once they are here, they are likely to continue to violate other laws. Fraudulent papers are used to obtain work. This may include Social Security numbers and related documentation, falsified work visas, and so on. In this case, it seems that Title 18 Section 1028 "Fraud and related activity in connection with identification documents, authentication features, and information" should come into play.
If they bypass the fraudulent paperwork and simply work for cash "under-the-table" they are certainly involved in some level of tax evasion. In this country, even people who earn income by illegal means are required by the Internal Revenue Code to report this income when filing annual tax returns. But they usually don't claim this income, let alone file the required return, because doing so would serve as an admission of guilt. They are also more likely to be working at less than the minimum wage, facilitating their employer's choice to bypass Title 29 Section 206 "Minimum wage" as well as requirements to withhold and pay their portions of the FICA and Medicare payroll taxes [conspiracy to commit, on both the illegal immigrant and the employer; perhaps RICO could even be applied to the employers].
An aside here: often the claim is made that "They do jobs Americans won't do" when the reality is "They do jobs that Americans won't do at those wages." Thousands of employers are also violating our laws, notably Title 8 Section 1324a "Unlawful employment of aliens", by hiring illegal aliens and by paying them under-the-table to avoid our laws about minimum wage, overtime, workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, family leave, Americans with disabilities and so on. These employers should also be stopped and prosecuted.
When illegal aliens drive a car, they are doing so without a valid license and probably without insurance (a requirement in most states). It is not uncommon for many unrelated illegal aliens to share a single house or apartment, in violation of local codes. The list of violations could go on and on.
An aside here: often the claim is made that “They do jobs Americans won’t do” when the reality is “They do jobs that Americans won’t do at those wages.” ... These employers should also be stopped and prosecuted.
In line with the dishonest "BOAF SIDEZ" narrative, this rather explicitly assumes that a market that is openly manipulated specifically in the BOAF SIDEZ narrator's favor is nominally fair as well.
That the McDonalds burger flipper refuses to work for $15/hr. rather than $20/hr. because $20 is a nice, round number and not because mandated-negotiation wages with union auto-workers and green energy initiatives have made his car so expensive $15/hr. can't pay the bill anymore. It's the same self-licking ice cream cone that Reason *used* to rightly and truly rail against both sides of but now pretends that immigration is only about imaginary lines in the dirt and race.
You have the wrong ‘A’ word. The ‘A’ word you meant was ‘Accommodate’. Illegals do not want to assimilate, they want we Americans to accommodate and cater to their law breaking behavior.
For a second there, I thought you were going to use the word Aztalan. Then I remembered that we don’t talk about Aztlan.
Only evil white supremacists would talk about Progressive Global Elites using immigrants to balkanize and destroy the United States.
There's the related R word, too.
"If they call us radicals or subversives or separatists, that's their problem. This is our home, and this is our homeland, and we are entitled to it. We are the host. Everyone else is a guest.... It is not our fault that whites don't make babies, and blacks are not growing in sufficient numbers, and there's no other groups with such a goal to put their homeland back together again. We do. Those numbers will make it possible. I believe that in the next few years, we will see an irredentists movement, beyond assimilation, beyond integration, beyond separatism, to putting Mexico back together as one. That's irridentism [sic]. One Mexico, one nation."
Political scientist Samuel P. Huntington, a proponent of the widespread popularity of Reconquista, stated in 2004:
Demographically, socially and culturally, the reconquista (re-conquest) of the Southwest United States by Mexican immigrants is well under way. [However, a] meaningful move to reunite these territories with Mexico seems unlikely.... No other immigrant group in U.S. history has asserted or could assert a historical claim to U.S. territory. Mexicans and Mexican-Americans can and do make that claim.[16]
The neoliberal political writer Mickey Kaus remarked:
Reconquista is a little—a little extreme. If you talk to people in Mexico, I'm told, if you get them drunk in a bar, they'll say we're taking it back, sorry. That's not an uncommon sentiment in Mexico, so why can't we take it seriously here?... This is like a Quebec problem if France was next door to Canada.
MORE REWARDS for Criminals (tresspassers).
Why it's just like the CA squatters taking over houses.
You can't kick them out; they own it now! /s
The left is literally nothing but a gang of criminals. From trespassing and squat stealing to income stealing to "you didn't build that", etc, etc, etc... You couldn't get more criminal stances from life sentenced prisoners. Course that's probably why 70%+ of all prisoners register as Democrats.
The left has gone from "you didn't build that" to "sure you built that but we are going to confiscate it and give it to some shitty people we think deserve it more because FYTW". I suppose we can now admire their openness.
+1000000… Ironically; their sh*tty-ness (jumping fences, voting for more stealing) can’t possibly be why they don’t deserve it, oh no, they deserve it because of the color of their skin. Still the party of racism.
" Under the new policy, those who are illegally here and have been for a decade, "
Sounds like squatters. Stick around long enough, you get rewarded!
Difference is that squatters trespass on the property of individuals, while illegal immigrants are only trespassers if you are a collectivist (communist, socialist, progressive, etc) who thinks the country is owned by the collective.
I think there are rules for entry and if they are not followed, that is against the law.
Yeah, so what's your point?
Sarcasmic was approving of someone being punished for not following the law elsewhere on this page. But now it's ok to not follow the law.
I didn’t say that at all. I said that the law was enforced correctly, but the law and the outcome were unjust.
You seem to have a difference in opinion when it comes to Trump's requirement to follow the law, and an immigrant's requirement to do the same.
""but the law and the outcome were unjust.""
The below doesn't sound like someone saying the outcome was unjust.
"Maybe you don’t know this, but he was lawfully convicted in New York. He was convicted by a prosecutor who ran for office on a platform of finding a crime, but that’s legal. And he actually did break the poorly written law under which he was convicted."
Stop arguing against things I never said!

There is this thing called ‘lying by omission’. It’s akin to cherry picking or taking things out of context. It’s something that I expect from pieces of shit like ML or JA. But not you.
Here’s what I wrote immediately following what you quoted, but conveniently omitted, in order to accuse me of the opposite of what I said.
“All of that is crap, but legal. I think it is unjust, even though I can’t stand the man or his followers. ”
I used to think you weren’t a piece of shit. Guess I was wrong.
I'm just trying to navigate your posts and you want to call me a piece of shit.
Tell me where I'm wrong.
You seem to say immigration law is unjust and immigrants shouldn't be prosecuted for that reason.
But with Trump you can't come out say the same thing. Well, you do but you don't. You point to the "lawful" ness of it. Which negates the wrongness. But you don't point out the lawfulness of the laws going after immigrants when you discuss immigration.
I can say Trump's verdict should be overturned in an appeal. Can you? If you believe it was unjust and it should be an easy thing to say.
If they overcharged, charged stacked, or use novel laws on immigrants I would agree those convictions should be overturned too.
I’m just trying to navigate your posts and you want to call me a piece of shit.
Don't be a ML or JA, and I won't call you a piece of shit.
You seem to say immigration law is unjust and immigrants shouldn’t be prosecuted for that reason.
I never said that. You must be reading the replies to my posts instead of what I write.
You point to the “lawful” ness of it. Which negates the wrongness.
Only if you equate unlawful with wrong. I do not.
I can say Trump’s verdict should be overturned in an appeal. Can you?
From what I know about it, he broke the law he was convicted of breaking. The law itself is poorly written and vague. I can say the law itself should be struck down. But he did break it, as far as I can tell based upon what I know.
If they overcharged, charged stacked, or use novel laws on immigrants I would agree those convictions should be overturned too.
Our entire legal system is based upon overcharging and charge stacking in order to force people into taking a plea. It’s disgusting. Doesn’t matter who it victimizes, it’s disgusting.
""Don’t be a ML or JA, and I won’t call you a piece of shit.""
I'm not either of those guys so fuck off on that comment.
""I never said that. You must be reading the replies to my posts instead of what I write.""
If I polled the commenters, I bet they would agree with me. You seem to argue against anyone who says immigrants should follow the law.
""Only if you equate unlawful with wrong. I do not.""
Really? So it is not wrong to prosecute immigrants or anyone else for unlawful laws?
""Our entire legal system is based upon overcharging and charge stacking in order to force people into taking a plea. It’s disgusting. Doesn’t matter who it victimizes, it’s disgusting.""
Yet you can't find it within yourself to actual say those victims should see justice by having their verdicts overturned.
Yet you can’t find it within yourself to actual say those victims should see justice by having their verdicts overturned.
Change the law first. Seems antithetical to the rule of law to overturn verdicts while allowing others to be prosecuted for the same law.
“Change the law first.”
Sarc will never speed on the highway, until the speed limits are changed.
Tell that to the migrants.
"Don’t be a ML or JA, and I won’t call you a piece of shit."
Disagreeing with you?
Punching back?
You certainly hate having someone turn the tables on your trolling ass, don't you?
Tell that to the migrants.
How many fucking times have I said that Trump had it right when he made them wait in the last sanctuary state, as in Mexico?
I swear you guys attack arguments that everyone believes I’ve made, but only exist in the replies to my posts.
It's like you're afraid to cross the narrative, because if you do then the mean girls will add you to their shit list.
"How many fucking times have I said that Trump had it right when he made them wait in the last sanctuary state, as in Mexico?"
Well, you did start making that argument a couple weeks ago, while claiming to have been arguing it all along.
Eurasia / East Asia called, they would like a word with you.
Who ensures property ownership of individuals?
This is just as dumb of a take as dismantle the ?collectivist? police to stop crime.
Any BS. Any BS at all you have to spout to *take* what you were never entitled to. Criminal mentality 101.
Don't we citizens pay to feed, house, clothe (and educate the children of) illegal aliens? Why should my family suffer because some law-breaking illegal crossed the border?
Are my children any less important? I don't think so.
Taking your property to create property for an illegal immigrant is a totally different thing.
You mean two wrongs don't make a right winger?
No but three rights make a left.
wait a minute ... hey you're correct!
Yes, and that we are forced to pay for anyone else's shit is the injustice here. I don't really like it any better when it goes to US citizens.
Immigration, the border, and welfare, are three separate issues. They do overlap, but they are independent.
People who equate them are stupid and/or dishonest, and know exactly who they are.
Lmao.
Fixing the welfare problem would do a lot more to resolve illegal immigration problems than stopping illegal immigration would do to resolve welfare problems.
So if I was king of the world, I'd start with welfare and entitlement reforms. Unfortunately I'm not the king of the world.
aye
This is retarded. If you're against government stealing to give to others youre a socialist now? Lol.
Retarded as fuck.
There is no private property along the border - sarc
Once someone trespasses once they're continually trespassing for life. -SM
I guess if you commit a crime just once, it doesn't count.
Well, since King Joe is going to declare what the laws are, can we at least save a few bucks and get rid of all the congress AND their bloated staffs?
Protect them from the law?
"That means long separations from their spouses and families. The new program allows families to remain in the country while they pursue legal status."
Why does that mean a long separation? Explain that, and show your work.
Explain that, and show your work.
Uhhh, trust me.

Everyone remember: crime is down!
https://apnews.com/article/los-angeles-secret-service-robbery-77471a51c61dda672a42a35b85746515
"Someone called the Tustin Police Department shortly after 9:30 p.m. to report the robbery. Police said the agent had his bag stolen at gunpoint. The agent, who was not injured, fired his gun during the confrontation, police said. The Secret Service said they did not know if anyone was shot."
Newsom was just doing victory laps on X decrying the lower crime rates. Shit has gotten so bad that the headlines are more ridiculous than the Babylon Bee could ever imagine. They were never edgy enough to make a headline like Secret Service Agent victim of armed robbery. I also haven't ever seen a phony Biden didn't really shit his pants fact check from them.
Pretty easy to brag about crime rates when you don't prosecute criminals.
""The Secret Service said they did not know if anyone was shot.”""
They are keeping it a secret.

1. Every new technology is expensive at first
2. I already support this you dont have to convince me
1. Every new technology is expensive at first
Like mRNA vaccines and EVs.
If you need an economist to make your moral argument...
When I forget my ID, I'm undocumented.
When these people intentionally throw away their ID's and jump the border, they're criminal illegal aliens.
Please stop using Orwellian wokespeak.
They are illegally present in the USA. They ARE NOT even remotely undocumented. I am a US citizen by birth, carry 3 forms of government issued photo ID. Compared to many people that are illegally present in the USA, I am undocumented.
You misspelled Illegals Liz.
