The Conviction Effect
Plus: Deloitte pride float, cutting off aid to Israel, the hostage rescue mission, and more...

National polls show slight shift toward Joe Biden: In the roughly week and a half since former president (and presumptive Republican presidential nominee) Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felonies related to falsifying records to hide hush-money payments to a porn star, numerous national polls have indicated that voters have moved slightly toward incumbent president (and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee) Joe Biden.
A HarrisX/Forbes poll found Biden and Trump each getting a one-point bump after the verdict. A Reuters/Ipsos poll found a one-point bump for Biden, with Trump losing a point. A Morning Consult poll found a one-point bump for Biden, with Trump neither gaining nor losing any ground. And an Echelon Insights poll found a two-point Biden bump, with Trump support staying flat. (All poll results can be found in a chart here.)
The New York Times recontacted some 2,000 respondents they had polled this spring and found that "the group favored Mr. Trump by three points when originally interviewed in April and May, but this week they backed him by only one point."
A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 25 percent of independents and 10 percent of Republicans are less likely to vote for Trump following his conviction. The poll "also found that 56% of Republican registered voters said the case would have no effect on their vote and 35% said they were more likely to support Trump, who has claimed the charges against him are politically motivated and has vowed to appeal," Reuters reports. "The potential loss of a tenth of his party's voters is more significant for Trump than the stronger backing of more than a third of Republicans, since many of the latter would be likely to vote for him regardless of the conviction."
"The verdict has not overhauled the 2024 race nearly as much as Democrats hoped it would," writes The Washington Post's Aaron Blake. "But the totality of the evidence suggests it has dinged Trump a little."
Some of this perceived shift, ABC adds, could be the result of "differential partisan nonresponse bias"—basically, Republicans may be less keen to respond to polls right now given the bad news they've just been dealt in the form of a Trump conviction, while Democrats might be more excited to respond. And none of these shifts are massive; these changes are within the margin of error. Time will tell.
Scenes from D.C.: I present to you the most D.C. thing that I have ever seen, in honor of the fact that I spent a chunk of last week there. (Out of respect for my D.C.-based colleagues, I will not say anything unkind about this, uh, "city.")

National polls show slight shift toward Joe Biden
RIGGED
1% in a national poll isn’t a shift. RCP aggregate shows no shift. Movement within a margin isn’t an actual shift. But the media is desperate to impart a shift to cause a shift.
https://online.stat.psu.edu/stat500/book/export/html/576
Above to show two different population samples being the same population.
The polling is more or less irrelevant to presidential election reality. It will come down to who has the better machinery in place to get ballots to reliable voters and delivered to swing election centers.
Machinery, as in printing presses?
The media is desperate.
That sums it up.
Such a valuable people...

NEW American Jewish Committee poll of Jewish voters:
Biden 61
Trump 23
Largely unchanged from 2020 exit poll (AP VoteCast), which showed Biden winning Jewish vote over Trump, 68-30%.
“But the poll suggested that a critical mass of Jewish voters is skeptical of Biden’s record on Israel. Just under half (49%) of respondents said they view Biden as better for the U.S.-Israel relationship, as compared to 25% for Trump.
The survey showed the community closely divided about Biden’s handling of the war: 48% percent of respondents said they approve of how Biden is handling the Israel-Hamas war, while 43% said they disapprove.”

A guy with a Jewish family who gave Israel the Abraham Accords, versus a guy who handed billions to Iran and who's grassroots are currently reenacting Kristallnacht.
Huh. Tough choice.
yeah - sometimes the actions\opinions of american jews gives me a smh moment
Maybe Jews ain't so bright.
Oh look. The Grabbers-Of-Pussy who chortled at Long Dong and Palito increasing death in childbed for women in Amerika are wondering why they bet the farm on girl-bullying nazis. Sad, but funny.
Meanwhile, latest polling from Virginia shows Trump tied with Biden, Virginia a state he lost by ten points and was never even close to Biden in the polls in 2020 has been moved into the toss up column by RCP. Twenty years since a Republican presidential candidate has won Virginia. Not saying it's going to happen this time, but this is definitely much worse news for Biden than the miniscule movement in the national polls for Trump. If Biden has to defend Virginia, that is not good for his chances.
MN is tight as well. I've seen polls with Trump within single digits in NY. It seems ridiculous to think NY is a possibility, but I also doubt that only voters in deep blue states are moving to Trump.
He's definitely raising money from heavily blue districts recently, and from many former Democratic donors. Given the RCP liability average for Biden has been under 40% for awhile, several points lower than Trump in 2020, it means that the Biden campaign has to play defense, even in some states that have traditionally gone blue the last several decades. I would be interested in polling from New Mexico, there hasn't been much reliable polling since August of last year. With the shift we're seeing in Hispanics, and the shift in Nevada, a state very similar to New Mexico politically, polling could be very interesting from that state.
Aside from the white wine mommies in the inner beltway suburbs, Biden has lost a lot of support in Virginia, especially from immigrants who are pissed with his handling of the border situation. Not saying they will all move to Trump, but a lot may just not bother to vote which will have the same effect.
What happened to last week's, "Bragg and Merchan just won the election for Trump"?
This was supposed to be the "pyrrhic verdict" Joe Biden would regret [not actually] orchestrating.
Whatever the polls show, they don't show that.
Whatever the polls show, they don’t show that.
Well, not these carefully cherry picked polls from the leftists at reason.
But don't you find it strange that while they're saying this they're also noting all the 'safe' states that suddenly seem to be at least in play?
It's like they really need to lie to themselves.
’Give peace a chance’: Edward Snowden exposes Macron and Scholz’s crushing failures in EU elections
"Pro-war politicians were just harshly punished in the EU elections. It's a bad sign for Biden. Maybe it's time to give peace a chance."
Unipolar Globo Oh No
It’s okay Marco dissolved parliment to save democracy
He’s actually forced to do so under the 5th Republic Constitution.
Wait, there are politicians who obey their constitutions?
Do you have a cite? Everything I've read says this means new elections in a month.
It’s a semi-presidential system. The parliament works more like the Westminster system in that snap elections can be called when there’s an obvious vote of no confidence. Macron’s party losing so badly is a vote of no confidence by the people. Hence, he either calls for a snap election or he suffers a vote of no confidence by parliament.
This is Wiki, but does a good rundown of the system: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_France
Thanks.
You're thanking him for nonsense. The EU Parliament has nothing to do with the French Parliament. You can only be a member of one or the other, and whether or not the EU Parliament has confidence in macron is totally irrelevant to the French Parliament.
True, but Macron's action was prompted by his party's dismal performance in the EU Parliament election.
As soon as the globists started losing they started to try to pull every trick to undo the election, similar to the Brexit vote.

Luckily this isn't election denial or insurrection to undo an election.

1. The reporting on the case of the black woman who murdered the white toddler omits race.
If a white woman singled out a black child to kill, race would be the focal point of the reporting and the murder would be blamed on white racism.
America has two-tiered racial reporting.
2. Reporter: "No one appears to see or react to the knife."
People likely saw the black woman with a knife, but they've been trained that suspecting black people of crime is racist. They said nothing to avoid racism accusations. Media's biased reporting on "racism" costs lives.
[Link]
If the mother had pulled a pistol and killed the black woman during the attack, it would still be reported as racism.
Regarding race, the Media is criminal. Look how Rittenhouse was described, and he only shot white criminals.
No matter how much you hate the corporate media, it isn't enough.

Grosskreutz isn’t a pervert as far as I know. He is a devoted communist eager for the revolution.
Checks history of several prominent communist leaders/revolutionaries. Uhm, there does seem to be an overlap between communist revolutionaries and sexual perversions.
Don't know about pervert, but it's safe to assume he is based on his crowd.
Had a conviction(s) for domestic violence.
Either way, he has a big cross to bear.
"People likely saw the black woman with a knife, but they’ve been trained that suspecting black people of crime is racist. They said nothing to avoid racism accusations. "
This is absolutely happening. From the people calling the cops on actual shoplifters (if you create a police encounter you are risking black lives!) to calling the cops for actual loiterers in coffee shops that wont buy anything but want the AC/wifi for free, they are actively encouraging shame and even punishment for calling out bad activity in the name of racial justice.
Bbbbbuttt... Trump Junior said "we're white!" Whut's the deal?
See something ... STFU if it's a black person doing something shady.
Ukraine 'same story' as WWII, America 'shows up when needed' — Biden
While praising America’s Hollywood role in World War II and likening it to the Ukraine conflict, US President Joe Biden bemoaned how long it took to hand Iraq (or was that Ukraine?) military support.
He insisted “It's not who we are", before his usual coherent mumbling about, well, who knows - least of all old Brandon himself.
“I think America’s whole again. I think there’s a new, er, a rise of… a sense of… (go on Joe, you can make it a full sentence…), of, some in the country want, er, wanting to let that, er… slip.”
Brandon’s polling numbers keep dropping like bowel movements in his pants.
A shitty President.
A real turd of an administration.
A coprolitic President.
Fossilized excrement. Nice touch.
Shitty Joe! Has a nice ring to it!
Brandon’s polling numbers keep dropping like bowel movements in his pants.
That speech went over like a North Korean balloon attack.
Wait, is that the speech that the media described as "forceful" while at the same time debunking his pants-incident?
Ukraine ‘same story’ as WWII, America ‘shows up when needed’ — Biden
So WW3 then?
Macron was gearing up for it. Looks like he may need to make other plans. The Deep State won’t just roll over, but fewer cards to play now that the EU is shifting away from a direct war. I’m still at Prepcon 3. Others may be elsewhere.
Macron's got bigger problems right now, like seeing his political career flash before his eyes, and the Wagner Group pushing his army's shit in throughout the old colonial territories in Africa.
So that explains why certain Trumpanzees wear adult diapers...
A Reuters/Ipsos poll found a one-point bump for Biden, with Trump losing a point.
I wonder if it has anything to do with corporate media highlighting Trump over Hunter.

One might say that the “polls” are being used to try to influence opinion. A sort of “join the bandwagon” type advertising.
Pretty much like so called journalism.
BRICS expansion sign of multipolar world taking shape - Lavrov at ministerial council
“New centers of political decision-making are emerging among states of the Global South and the global majority,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the ministerial council in Nizhny Novgorod.
Western goldbricking while funding a brick shithouse in Kiev as Biden turns the White House into a shithouse sours the non-golden billions
As long as they stay out of Malibu.
Lol. Call me when a BRICs announcement manifests into something material.
The existence of BRICS helped facilitate Saudi Arabia sunsetting the petrodollar agreement.
1. Not a BRICs policy announcement, so not what I asked for.
2. Arguably this has more to do with the Strategic Alliance Agreement, between the US and SA that is in final negotiations right now and the Israel/Hamas conflict.
It had to do with a multipolar alternative to the current thing; Saudi Arabia no longer wanting to be a bound party to Washington offloading debt.
The announcement was just a summary of what is occurring globally - a shift away from unipolar.
It's telling that the two biggest threats to the Atlantic Council/NATO are China and Russia, two states with large populations dominated by a homogenous ethno-culture that ended the relentless self-criticism of their 20th century marxist officials, and embraced expansive nationalism in the 21st century. India isn't trailing too far behind them, and that's mainly due to their more non-aligned stance where they might be a part of BRICS, but still maintain cordial trade relations with the Atlantic Council nations. But they'll pick one to fully side with eventually, just like Nehru and the other third world demagogues of the Bandung Generation all did.

"If the footage of [Noa] Argamani being kidnapped on the back of a motorcycle on October 7 became a darkly iconic representation of that day's horror"
I think the most accurate representation was the girl in the back of a pickup truck, with her limbs in mangled positions as she bled out while being taken into Gaza, as the Palestinians cheered with glee at the sight of it.
That's how you know you're dealing with evil.
Good people don't cheer at the sight of a maimed and dying girl, no matter how angry they are at a government. Neither do mediocre people or even the bad.
Monsters do.
The people here who make excuses for that are evil too.
When the US Army began overrunning concentration camps in 1945, they forced the local German civilian population to go and bury the dead in the concentration camps to force them to confront the evils they ignored and facilitated. I believe the Soviets instituted a similar (albeit given Stalin's record, especially towards Poles before 1941, hypocritical) policy in Poland with Germans. It's because without the civilians support, such atrocities are far more difficult to perpetuate (albeit, Lenin and Stalin demonstrated not impossible).
Yes, you can see that from all the anguish Israel supporters here display about the thousands of civilian Palestinians killed during the Israeli "special military operation" in Gaza...
Hey Brussels, FAFO:
Europe is drifting to the right and this week’s EU elections will prove that – and here’s how it could happen here (UK)
Of course by far-right they mean ideas and policies that were left liberal a decade ago, but it’s Jeffy’s newspaper of record.
Far-right gains in the EU election deal stunning defeats to France’s Macron and Germany’s Scholz
Soros and Schwab must be in tears.
Ya, "far-right" is definitely wearing thin. Its about as overused racism, genocide, alt-right as well.
These people truly think that if you aren't on the globohomo, green-socialism movement, you are far right now.
Yeah. I pointed this out when the "frat bros." at UNC took down the Palestinian flag, put up the US flag, and some political activist or group bought them some beer and people labeled it as "right-wing".
Running flags up and down poles and standards has been banal procedure for all manner of tribes in any direction back into pre-history. College students getting drunk on ale dates back to the invention of colleges. Labeling the whole thing as "right-wing" makes pretty much everything since about the middle of the Byzantine Empire "right-wing".
Study the laws and court rulings in many Medieval University Towns to see just how wild Medieval University Students were. It makes Delta house's antics look like a Vacation Bible School field day in comparison, which is ironic in that almost all University Students were theology majors, at least on paper.
Soros and Schwab must be in tears.

It's worth remembering that this started happening on a large scale because the Canadian government threw its entire weight behind a hoax about mass graves at Indian residential schools. No such graves have ever been found.

You have no idea how furious the average native is up here, and still nobody tells them it was all ginned up gaslighting by Trudeau and pals.
Maybe to shift attention away from when the sled dogs were culled.
Yeah, “far right” to these people just means, “anyone who isn’t on the left and doesn't regurgitate the Current Year left-wing shibboleths and buzzwords.”
Note that no one in the political realm in Europe or the US is ever described as “far left” by those nations’ mainstream media outlets. That’s because they’re mostly on the same team.
Today, Donald Trump—now a convicted felon—will sit for his probation interview.
We're going to milk this thing so dry that when the other trials come and go everyone will be lactose intolerant.
Mericans will vote for a convicted felon as long as they get their $1400 Donnie checks.
Donnie still 6-5 favorite to win.
Buttplug brand Democrats will vote for a actual felon as long as they get their entire tuition paid.

Not a bad group for 45 to be among.
that is why this specific indictment was so stupid. if/when any of the semi-legitimate charges go to trial everyone will be ignoring them.
Which ones are legitimate? Remember, uncharged precedence can be used to show unequal applications of law.
" Remember, uncharged precedence can be used to show unequal applications of law."
setting up the straw man upfront, i see.
the ones i see as troubling are the election interference ones, though I'm not sure using racketeering laws in Georgia was appropriate. (hence semi-legitimate.) the only lack of precedence there is the scale of what was attempted.
So you dont know what a strawman is either. Pointing out constitutional jurisprudence isn't a strawman.
What election interference?
False electors? Hawaii 1960. Constitutional dates requires slates at specific days. Precedence is to have alternates as court cases proceed.
Lawsuits? Elias averages like 40 election suits a year. Lawsuits have happened for 2 centuries.
So what specifically?
"Pointing out constitutional jurisprudence isn’t a strawman. "
it is when i have not yet presented anything that the argument applies to.
"Precedence is to have alternates as court cases proceed. "
and another straw man. trump has not been indicted on any of the false electors charges..... so I'm just going to ignore this talking point rather than be baited into explaining why even it is bullshit.
" Lawsuits have happened for 2 centuries. "
and.... which of those lawsuits are named in any of trump's indictments?
"So what specifically?"
the one's trump has been charged with, minus the racketeering enhancements. try arguing against those instead of a bunch of shit i never said.
it is when i have not yet presented anything that the argument applies to.
Thats not what a strawman is.
and another straw man. trump has not been indicted on any of the false electors charges….. so I’m just going to ignore this talking point rather than be baited into explaining why even it is bullshit.
Also not a strawman as this is the case in Ga, Wisconsin, and Arizona regarding Trumps campaign team. How ignorant are you? Trump is included in the Ga indictment dummy.
the one’s trump has been charged with, minus the racketeering enhancements. try arguing against those instead of a bunch of shit i never said.
So you dont know what specifically means. What action? What crime did Trump specifically do? You have an opinion here but can't specify it dumdum.
Are you talking about find the votes? The lawsuits? What?
Jack Smiths indictment includes primarily public statements and court petitions. But you say those aren't what you are talking about. So what the fuck are you talking about?
straw man: an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.
as in arguing about uncharged precedence which is a talking point specific to the hush money case.... which i was explicitly saying was stupid...... and had no bearing on anything i said.
as in arguing about how it is really OK to have fake electors when none of the charges trump faces are over that.
as in arguing about the lawsuits, when none of that is what he is charged with
since you are apparently too stupid to understand "specifically" what "the election interference one's" means, here is a list that any moron with any search engine can find in seconds:
Federal
Conspiracy to defraud the U.S.
Conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding
Obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding
Conspiracy against rights
Georgia
2 counts of conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree
2 counts of conspiracy to commit false statements and writings
2 counts of false statements and writings
Violation of Georgia RICO Act
Conspiracy to Commit Impersonating a public officer
Conspiracy to commit filing false documents
Filing false documents
the RICO one being something i have explicitly addressed, and none of the others having anything to do with anything you have said.
that is why this specific indictment was so stupid. if/when any of the semi-legitimate charges go to trial everyone will be ignoring them.
The point wasn't to bring legitimate charges, the point was to find something to charge Trump with so he couldn't be President again. The problem is that the left has alienated so many people over the last 10 years, they forgot that a convicted felon can still run for President, and that he'd have a chance to win because the people they alienated are eager to give them a big, fat "fuck you." for being political spergatroids.
^This^
The polls sure show that happening, don't they?
Huffing the copium again, huh?

Marriage is just a bad idea nowadays. Why let the gov dictate the rules of your social life?
Marriage is a fine idea, it's just that government has no business recognizing and regulating it.
Nevermind. I missed the "nowadays".
I’m fine with social or religious “marriages”. But I’d want a co-hab contract that says we aren’t legal, in order to fight off common law.
Real Clear Politics - The Myth That Biden Had Nothing To Do with the Prosecutions of Trump
It has been amazing watching idiot leftists claim this isn’t political and convincing morons like sarc since a political jury found them guilty, everything was fair. The dems never left the southern KKK, they just moved north.
They have always seen the law as a weapon, not justice.
I think they see the lawfare backfiring. There's no way all the rabid dogs on the left would be playing it this coy if it were working. 34 felony convictions would be a fantastic thing to run against if it weren't horseshit. 34 felonies sounds great, but I'm yet to hear of any clear criminal activity occurring other than Cohen admitting to stealing $60k.
Exactly. The only idiots I see crowing about it are Turd here, and accounts like the “Biden’s Wins” one on Twitter that can’t help but lie constantly. Twitter’s Turd, if you will.
The paid d shills on X are pumping it hard, but other than lots of exposure, I don't see any of those accounts having much actual influence. They are so ridiculous with their posts that even the d's have to smell the bullshit.
The New York Times recontacted some 2,000 respondents they had polled this spring and found that "the group favored Mr. Trump by three points when originally interviewed in April and May, but this week they backed him by only one point."
If there's anything I've learned from the comments, it's that only leftists change their minds. Non-leftists never change their minds about anything. So those people were going to vote for Biden anyway.
That troll doesn't even make sense. And here I'd been bragging you up as an excellent strawman craftsman, and then you give us this poorly thought out gibberish.
Try harder.
Whats funny is he claims to believe the NYC trial was political, but then openly supports the outcome of it as a weapon.
Cirrhosis does funny things to people.
So broken. Talks about the what not the who.
Buttplug was crowing about this last week:
'Look under the hood' of Biden's May jobs report and you'll see the problem
"Well, today's release of the May jobs report is much the same. The shiny, new paint job was a significant 272,000 increase. Although nearly half of that was government and government-related jobs, that's what the nonfarm payrolls showed. However, when you lift up the hood, what you see is an incredible 408,000 job loss from the household survey...
Once again, full-time jobs fell 605,000 in May. This is not a monthly problem — this is a long-playing record. It's mirror image: Part-time jobs gained 286,000. So if full-timers are plunging and part-timers are surging, that cannot be a healthy economic sign. Additionally, in just May alone, 414,000 immigrants, both legal and illegal, gained jobs, while 663,000 native-born Americans lost jobs. This discouraging pattern has been going on for quite some time, but the trend line has accelerated significantly during the Biden years."
And next month when they round the jobs figures downwards again, where is it going to be.
Fox Business?
Get that shit outta here.
Attack the source and not the news, huh?
Buttplug lied, the economy died.
Pluggo is the chief economist at NAMBLA so he has his finger on the pulse of the economy, amongst other things.

turd, the TDS-addled ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.

""Arranged marriage isn’t dead, it’s just in essence mediated by social media apps.""
Apparently, someone doesn't understand arranged marriages.
The bride and groom doesn't have a choice.
If parents used an app to decide who their kids were going to marry, then the author would have a point.
Ya, I think they thought they had an interesting point and then shoe-horned reality in to try and make it fit.
I was scratching my head to figure out the connection then was like "oh, this is just nonsense"
shoe-horned reality in to try and make it fit.
+1 As good as "Killed two stones with one bird."
A few years ago, PETA put out a release asking people to stop using that saying, as it involves harm to birds. As a replacement PETA suggested using the similar saying "feed two birds with one scone."
I wish I were joking, but that was a serious suggestion on their part.
There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
Arranged marriages are not necessarily forced marriages. Still, it's a silly claim. "Arranged marriage" generally means someone else arranged it.
That's the point -- here, they met by social app instead of parents, so just as artificial. As opposed to meeting someone by chance at a nightclub or gym or out running or in a store or ...
Pretty sure the algorithm doesn't tell the people it matches that they should get married in a few months. If anything, it's insane people get hitched after just a few months of dating but hey sometimes that works out.
More often, it ends it bitter divorce though.
Then again, my view on that is probably skewed since it took my wife and I about ten years to decide to get married and another five years to decide to have kids. We're slow like that, I guess.
That's true, but I bet the majority of dating app users are trying to find their soulmate to get hitched.
I very, very much doubt that. Marriage is already on the decline, so while some may be doing that more of them are probably just looking for someone to have sex with on the regular.
Which is fine. I was into that lifestyle in my 20's, but in my 20's dating websites didn't exist so I spent a lot of time in bars and concerts instead. If dating app's had existed at the time, I would have certainly used it for longer term hookups.
Either way, it's batshit insane that some people get married after just a few months. Like I said before, sometimes that works out but way more often it ends in disaster. You don't really know a person until a few years in, and at least in my experience that's been a pretty solid fact.

The culture is completely different now. Before, courtships tended to be pretty short affairs, either due pre-marital sex resulting in pregnancy, or because the two parties were horny but had been raised to believe you don’t start fucking until you’re married. Anything longer than a year wasn’t all that common. And then when you got married, you needed to stay married, with some exceptions such as physical abuse or abandonment. Because marriage was considered binding on both spiritual and legal grounds, marital difficulties were either tolerated, or the couple worked through their priest/pastor/parents to help them figure out how to resolve conflicts. Maybe the passion went away, but there was at least the stability of the relationship.
When western culture started moving towards hedonism in the late 50s-early 60s, the idea that marraige was a binding institution deteriorated, too. It was seen as a “bourgeois” practice that needed to be destroyed to help bring the communist utopia about. 60-odd years later, looking at how utterly stunted younger people have become in just dealing with real life, I can’t really say that what the hippies were promoting was ultimately positive for anything other than mere self-indulgence over social stability. It's why we're starting to see this "passport bro" trend with western guys going to southeast Asia or Latin America, where more traditional social practices haven't been entirely abandoned.
I think you are right about most of that. Another thing that has changed (related I'm sure) is people's expectations around marriage. People seem to think that it should be some kind of non-stop passionate love affair, which except for a few fortunate couples isn't generally the case.
Never sleep with a married woman. Especially if she is married to you.
Apparently, someone doesn’t understand arranged marriages.
Also, given the childbirth and sex numbers, there's probably a/the progressively more rampant underlying misunderstanding between the "selecting a lifetime housing partner" definition of marriage and the "starting a family and have kids" definition of marriage as well.
Yeah, this feels a lot more like choosing a college dorm mate.
George Soros funneled $19 million dollars into groups attacking Justice Alito.
Classical Liberal!!!!
Nazis are gonna Nazi.
Why is that old POS still breathing?
Jewish Nazis?
He literally collaborated with the Nazis so yes. But you knew that already, didn't you?
Explains where White Mike has been.
All this "He lost one point in this poll but gained one point in this poll whereas they both gained and lost a point in this other poll..." make me nostalgic for the days when Hillary Clinton's 14-point-lead a month out from the election didn't mean anything.
Pretty sure the "pollsters" just write whatever they feel like and make up data. The polls are useless.
They normalize their results to their predicted electoral makeup. They almost never use the real sample numbers. If they think liberals will be 40% of voters and conservatives 30% they weight the polls to those percentages.
So, they are using climate science in their polling?
That actually checks out.
Politico notes that Donnie went from Fauci butt-boy to Vaxx weirdo in epic populist flip-flop that would make John Kerry proud:
Donald Trump, former Covid-19 vaccine booster, is now the nation’s most high-profile critic of immunization mandates.
....
The former president has on the campaign trail promised to strip funding from schools with vaccine requirements and lambasted independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a “fake” anti-vaxxer, while obscuring his role in speeding the development of the Covid shot when he was president during the pandemic.
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/09/trump-anti-vaccine-mandates-00162360
1. Politico, so LOL
2. Its really not a difficult needle to thread. He can brag that he got warp speed started up and made a vaccine available for the old sick people that needed it, as well as the retarded young liberals who didn't need it but wanted it. And he can brag that he wants you to have the freedom to make the choice for yourself.
Honestly, pretty big Trump W here.
Pretty much.
He will turn his campaign of Covid lies into a show of resolve to fool his cult and the ill-informed.
What lies, Plugly?
turd lies. turd lies when he knows he’s lying. turd lies when we know he’s lying. turd lies when he knows that we know he’s lying.
turd lies. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit and a pederast besides.
Why argue with success? (Er, failure?)
Donald Trump, former Covid-19 vaccine booster, is now the nation’s most high-profile critic of immunization mandates.
They seem to think that is some kind of inconsistency or contradiction. Which it is not.
Exactly
Trump never insisted on requiring any vaccine just to patronize a bar or restaurant.
The leadership of the Dems abandoned "My Body, My Choice".
Donnie told the Governor of my state (Georgia) not to reopen.
Why did you lose the “2” and put an idiotic false analogy after your name?
turd certainly is dishonest, but he’s got a heaping helping of stupid to go with his dishonesty. Stupid, lying, despicable steaming pile of TDS-addled lefty shit and proud of it
Trump never insisted on requiring any vaccine just to patronize a bar or restaurant.
[inhales through clenched teeth] Yeah. Head and shoulders above just about any of his opposition on this. That said, he *did* require it be paid for before patronizing a bar or restaurant.
You were just shitting on Fox Business and then you post Politico?
Lol.

Nope. My office is on Bloomberg every morning.

How is it that you remain an economic ignoramus, with Bloomberg on all the time in your office?
Do you learn nothing*?

HAHAHAHAHAH!
The Real Clear Politics article you posted above is based on Politico information.
Not based on, reporting about. Huge difference.
“Politico has long prided itself on its supposed insider knowledge of the workings of the Biden administration. Note that it was reported earlier this February that a frustrated Joe Biden “has grumbled to aides and advisers that had (Attorney General Merrick) Garland moved sooner in his investigation into former President Donald Trump’s election interference, a trial may already be underway or even have concluded…”
If there was any doubt about the Biden administration’s effort to force Trump into court before November, Politico further dispelled it — even as it blamed Trump for Biden’s anger at Garland: “That trial still could take place before the election and much of the delay is owed not to Garland but to deliberate resistance put up by the former president and his team.”
Note in passing how a presidential candidate’s legal right to oppose a politicized indictment months before an election by his opponent’s federal attorneys is smeared by Politico as “deliberate resistance.”
Given Politico was publicly reporting six months ago about Biden’s anger at the pace of his DOJ’s prosecution of Trump, does anyone believe his special counsel, Jack Smith, was not aware of such presidential displeasure and pressure?
And for fuck’s sake Buttplug, quit socking and white knighting your own posts.
"now the nation’s most high-profile critic of immunization mandates."
...is that a bad thing?
It only took him three years.
Facts change!
turd certainly is dishonest, but he’s got a heaping helping of stupid to go with his dishonesty. Stupid, lying, despicable steaming pile of lefty shit and proud to be!
When did he push mandates?
Hocking the vaccine is not the same as pushing for mandates.

The hicklib pederast doesn't seem to understand the difference between promoting COVID vaccines, and promoting COVID vaccine mandates.
I would suggest that the small decrease in Trump polling is like a crack in the dam. This particularly true because Trump's nature is to be irritated by the conviction, cause increasingly erratic behavior, that will in turn make it less likely for people to vote for him. Rather than focus on a message for what he will do in a second term, Trump will focus on his grievances.
MAWF - Make America Whine Free
Lot of hopeium and copeium for a post about an increase/decrease that falls within in the 3% margins of error, Nazi.

Stupidity; it explains a lot with little complexity.
You're way too optimistic.
As shameless as a convicted felon could be Trump is also a tireless and effective marketer.

Fact is the US is more energy independent than ever. But Donnie's lies have taken root.
turd lies. That's not a surprise to anyone who reads his constant stream of bullshit.
But it's becoming obvious that as Misek is too stupid to understand the concepts of "evidence" or "relevance", the concept of "honesty" is simply beyond turd's ken.

Will James Clapper testify at Hunter Biden's trial as how the laptop was a Russian forgery?
Joe Biden, master oil trader
He has a high-stakes job. War and natural disasters keep him on his toes. He is often on a plane to far-flung places, travelling to negotiate with local leaders. He has the best intelligence money can buy. And as November’s election nears, he will spend lots of time looking at lines on charts. The American president and swashbuckling oil traders, it turns out, have a lot in common.
....
Indeed, Joe Biden also seems to have a knack for the oil trade. Two years ago his administration initiated the largest ever sell-off from America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (spr), an emergency store of crude oil, to counteract price surges caused by Russia’s war in Ukraine. Back then, dwindling stocks left observers twitchy. What if there was another shock to the system? So far, however, Mr Biden has got away with the gamble. He is now refilling America’s tanks, and began a new round of bidding on May 7th. Although inflation and war have marked his presidency, domestic fuel prices have been relatively stable and American production high.
The Economist
The TDS-addled turd lies. That's not a surprise to anyone who reads his constant stream of bullshit.
But it's becoming obvious that as Misek is too stupid to understand the concepts of "evidence" or "relevance", the concept of "honesty" is simply beyond turd's ken.
BTW, at one time, The Economist (and Fortune and Scientific American) was worth reading; that stopped about the time last time turd said something that wasn't a lie - say 20 years ago.
As usual, Buttplug didn't read the column to learn that so far Biden has been lucky and the reserves are still comparatively empty.
"Mr Biden’s strategy has been assisted by favourable conditions. Although Russia faces an array of sanctions on its energy exports, its oil firms have been able to keep selling their stuff. On top of this, global demand for crude has been sluggish. Both factors prompted prices to fall from their highs of 2022. Meanwhile, production cuts by OPEC, an oil cartel, have kept prices from falling too low, which could have tested Mr Biden’s floor on prices. The president’s success comes with a wider warning: past success is no guarantee of future returns.
In other words, if the price goes up and stays up tomorrow, America is fucked, yet again.
How come you never actually read the article, Pluggo?
Because he is abysmally stupid.
"What if the U.S. cuts off aid to Israel?"

Worst. Genocide. Ever.

Yeah, this keeps getting brought up. About how the narrative numbers don't even match up with vague biological axioms (of a relatively modern, peaceful, and stable or well-managed country anyway).
Palestine's civilian population is and was, apparently, 75% women and children (indicating the government has been culling combat-aged males for a generation or more) until a rocket lands on a hospital or on the heads of two Hamas leaders. Then, suddenly, the random sampling of the population of the civilian encampment turns out to be an improbable, based on the 75% women and children background numbers,
50-75% adult-aged males25% women, 20% children, 5% old people. At this rate, the hospitals are going to run out of diesel for the generators before the genocide gets completed.
Of course all the numbers were bogus. Everyone realized that. Even the evil idiots calling it a genocide.
There's no way the Hamas numbers are accurate. I've done my own comparative analysis of casualty numbers from WWII-- specifically allied and axis carpet bombing of major cities. While I don't have the numbers in front of me, it wouldn't be unusual for say, 1,400 civilians to be killed on one night-- of heavy bombing. Think about it, that's heavy bombers laying down a carpet of bombs over a wide area containing mostly civilian populations. For Hamas' numbers to be accurate, Israel would have to be doing nightly carpet bombing of all of Rafah and Gaza to even get close the casualties Hamas claims.
In addition, Hamas produces casualty figured blindingly fast. It was pointed out that it often takes weeks to produce accurate casualty figures, especially when you're talking about bombing victims where remains might be hard to even find or identify. Yet there's an explosion in Rafah, and within an hour, Hamas claims 500 casualties. There's simply no way.

And marijuana remains federally illegal, subjecting operators to sky-high taxes and costly regulations.
I don't get it. What are the sky-high taxes and costly regulations that are a direct cause of Marijuana being federally illegal? One does not automatically flow from the other.
A top New York cannabis official recently pointed to Colorado’s dramatic marijuana market downturn to justify regulators’ hesitance to issue too many licenses at once.
Um... so.. the government let too much of something happen, causing a lot of it to flood the market, causing prices to fall. Well, this is gonna shatter some narratives.

Jon Stewart says Trump is 'exposing corporate and political corruption'
Wonder if you'll admit it finally since Jon did. Or did facts change because Jon said it?
Neither.
Jon Stewart is accusing Trump of the corruption that the corrupt charges imply. The fucking Nazi and Sarc are reveling in the political corruption and neo-fascism of it all.
(Jon Stewart) said that Trump's conviction and ongoing trials have lifted the lid on 'a reality of crony capitalism, a reality of transactional corruption that is the heartbeat of corporate and political America.'
Trump's exploits have revealed the flaws and shady deals culture of US politics and business, Stewart said.
He said: 'In some ways, he is doing us a service in that he is like…you know how they employ a white hat hacker who will go into a system and find its vulnerabilities.'
Ahh. So trust legacy media bullshit.
I love how these Very Smart People all act like they've discovered something entirely new that no one could grasp or realize before, then promote it as if they have some kind of unique insight into the matter like a bunch of gurus.
Just a completely useless class of people who shouldn't be taken seriously at all, for anything.
Act Blue is throwing Stewart under the bus in their talking points memo after this.
The corruption of having an NDA, the porn star who signed it threatening to violate it if she’s not paid (extortion), and the lawyer go between admitting on stand to defrauding his client and embezzling some of that extortion money?
None of which is NOT “common knowledge” when it come to celebrities, politicians, or lawyers. (Though I will admit I was shocked the House had an actual slush fund for paying off people the politicians sexually harassed/assaulted/whathaveyou.)

“full send”
Full Send: About a decade ago, there was a murder in our Village. A man shot his wife. The adult kids who had left were baffled. They knew their parents disagreed about things but never saw anger directed at one another. Apparently, they guy retired about 6 mos. prior and everybody said things were great. When police showed up, the neighbors said they heard a heated argument. They asked the guy and he said he and his wife were arguing about the coffee maker.
“We met on a dating app, got married 3 mos. later, lived together for a few years, and then got divorced.” is not a “full send” on marriage. Regardless of what the app says.
was thinking "good for business" for my divorce attorney friends but they'll figure out how to app divorce too
they’ll figure out how to app divorce too
Good for the lols, but never happen. That's because legalized marriage has nothing to do with "the government allowing you to love", it's about setting up the parameters for divorce. And I'm not joking.
Marriage is easy, divorce is hard.
Marriage is easy, divorce is hard.

We should bring back arranged marriage. It can't be worse than trying to date.
watch five minutes of Married at First Sight & get back to us
Arranged marriage mostly works in societies/cultures where there are expectations and shame.
The expectation there is that you WILL marry this person, you will have a big family, you will take care of your family (including your parents), divorce isn't an option, being a deadbeat dad isnt an option, period.
You cant have arranged marriage in a society where we have normalized no fault divorce for any reason, multiple marriages, multiple kids with different moms, deadbeat parents who are absent in their kids lives etc.
The arranged portion is almost a foot note in the process. The society arranged marriage was built around is what made it work
Yes, of course. That was a serious answer to a silly comment.
Ya, sorry. I got fired up about how our society is swirling around the drain due to essentially bathing itself in the 7 deadly sins, and probably should have just made a separate post.
I probably should just pop some more popcorn and kick my feet up and watch

Daily Fail:
Millionaire investment banker Jonathan Kaye was threatened, called anti-Semitic slurs, and doused in a mystery liquid, moments before he was filmed punching a woman at a Brooklyn Pride parade, a source with knowledge of the incident told DailyMail.
Insiders close to the 52-year-old banker claim the viral clip did not capture the full clash on Saturday, which began when a group of four female 'Queers for Palestine' supporters started allegedly taunting Kaye - who is Jewish - as he returned from dinner.
Kaye is said to have told the group that they were 'on the wrong side', prompting the women to gang up on him, the source said.

How is DELOIE a "Deloitte Pride Float"? Where are the t's? How is it the most DC thing ever? That tweet and the description of it need a lot more before I know what's going on.
The 'T's are there, they're just blowing in the wind. The rest, from a couple of angles, seemed apropos to me (even the 'float' blowing in the wind seems apropos). Corporate support for pride, especially the last couple of years, has been a dubious proposition of dubious veracity. WTH would a financial services company or a beer or home goods store care about homosexuals one way or the other except to tell social and political activists "Don't malign us." Well, that exact question has caught on and is spreading widely on all sides (my favorite one is the Ukrainian flag one) but still, in the heart of D.C. a massive multinational financial services firm has to shell out some pocket change for a few balloons because, uh, gay rights or something.

Yeah, that bell has dinged about 400 million times for Trump since the verdict. I guess you could call that 'a little'.
"National polls show slight shift toward Joe Biden"
My first reaction to this was, so what? Nothing is less prognostic of a presidential election than a public opinion poll in June fife months before the election. More importantly, the fact that there was no large "shift" after a former President of the United States was convicted of a crime for the first time in the history of the United States of America says much more about the crime of which he was convicted than it does about the electorate. If you think that being found guilty of the same non-crime 34 times by a democrat jury prosecuted by a democrat prosecutor overseen by a democrat judge is a big, fat nothing-burger, you're not only right but also not alone. Ho-hum ...
