Brickbat: Hero Citizen, Racist Cop

A San Jose police officer, who shot a football player credited with stopping a shooting last summer, sent racist texts about the shooting to colleagues. Mark McNamara was one of four officers who shot K'aun Green when responding to the shooting. Security video showed Green had disarmed the gunman and was holding the gun in his hand and walking out of the restaurant backwards when he was shot. "N— wanted to carry a gun in the Wild West… Not on my watch," McNamara texted someone the day after the shooting. He also texted "I hate black people." And this year, he texted someone about Green's lawyers, who are black and Native American, "They should all be bowing to me and brining [sic] me gifts since I saved a fellow n—a by making him rich as fuck. Otherwise he woulda lived a life of poverty and crime." He also texted, about Green's attorneys, "Think I give a f— what y'all n— think?!???? I'll shoot you too!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!" McNamara resigned from the department earlier this year, reportedly after finding out he was under investigation in an unrelated criminal matter.

911 dispatchers might not be sending their best and brightest.
I'm making $90 an hour working from home. I never imagined that it was honest to goodness yet my closest companion is earning 16,000 US dollars a month by working on the connection, that was truly astounding for me, she prescribed for me to attempt it simply. Everybody must try this job now by just using this website... http://www.Payathome9.com
Sadly, I fear they are.
Or most cops think like this...
He is a racist, and unapologetic ,on the other hand, he has a lovely singing voice.
"I finally had to tell this city attorney what’s what," McNamara texted. "I’m like dude, I don’t give a shit about this case. I’m white, he’s black, he’s gonna win. AND I DONT CARE. It’s a b—- whatever they decide has no bearing on me what so ever. It’s basically kangaroo court."
I'm having trouble imagining why you wouldn't include a quote like that. Racist or not, he's not wrong.
Green should be going after the pension fund and not the taxpayers.
He's not going to get paid that way.
Police arrived in a hurry and maintain that they shot Green because a homicide had occurred a block away about 30 minutes earlier, and they feared the two instances were related and an active shooter might be on the loose. It turned out these two situations were not related.
When more details came out that Green had actually taken the weapon away from the gunman, police never retreated from their earlier narrative.
There are likely many things to complain about regarding this situation, but this is not one of them.
Even if it turned out to not be the case that the shootings were related, that doesn't go back in time and make it retroactively untrue that the responding officers thought that at the time.
Of course, "journalists" might not grasp that concept, I suppose.
You credit the police's statement of alleged motivation more than the available evidence deserves - and far more than anyone with even a passing history of past police rationalizations should.
Nothing says "I oppose a police state." like "I presume they're retroactively guilty of thoughtcrime and anyone who isn't crazy agrees with me."
Resigned, not fired. That just means he'll get a job in another town with a fat raise before retiring with a full pension.
And those perks should really only be reserved for racist piece of shit cops in DC who shoot unarmed women in the face on one of the rare occasions when they haven't left their gun in the shitter, right drunky?
Everyone knows you can’t be racist if you’re black.
Federal "hate crime" charges without QI coming from the shooting and his own texts in 5, 4, 3...
I'd be surprised if some aspiring federal prosecutor doesn't jump on this pretty quickly. Dumb ass needs to know when to stop digging that hole if he wants to stay out of camp fed. Let's face it, the difference between camp fed and club fed is the color of your collar which is either white or, ironically, blue and last I checked there are no hate crimes classed as white collar.
How do we know that the cops were talking about Green?
They could have just as easily been talking the guys who instigated the whole incident in the first place. You'll notice that in virtually ALL the reporting on the story - seriously, only one I can find:
https://www.ktvu.com/news/san-jose-police-release-new-photos-from-taqueria-shooting-involving-officers
- details about the original gunman and his cohorts is left out.Want to guess why?
No matter what, an armed black man was going to be confronted by police who walking into an unclear situation. Which nobody actually cares about or wants to discuss, because all these narratives were drafted ahead of time.
Do we need racist cops in our society? No way. But we need journalists even less.
You can't have a police state without police.
