Brickbat: Thumb on the Scale

An investigation by the University of Washington found that "race was used as a substantial factor in the selection of the final candidate and the hiring process" of a professor by the school's psychology department, violating a university executive order that bans the consideration of race in hiring. The report found that a white applicant was ranked No. 1 among 84 applicants for the tenure-track position but faculty members chose to extend a job offer to the No. 3-ranked candidate, who is black. The No. 2-ranked candidate was Asian. As a result of the investigation, the university has barred the psychology department from "conducting searches for tenured and tenure-track faculty positions" for at least two years, "subject to review by the Provost's Office." The department must also "undergo a comprehensive review and revision of its hiring processes." The university will also require all department members to "receive training on how to conduct searches consistent with law and policy."

Real libertarians all over the world are rejoicing over the news right now, but the fugazis are probably crying and seething with rage and will likely try to ignore it as best they can.
You already know what I'm talking about of course! I'm talking about the election of Javier Milei in Argentina, arguably the most libertsrian-leaning guy to ever be elected as a head of state in history.
The bad news for Milei is he has just moved right up to near the very top of the enemies list of George Soros, Block Insane Yomomna, Joe Biden, and all their nasty little minions in the CIA and the big media.
So I wish Milei the best of luck, because he's inheriting an absolute nightmare of a situation. And because Block Insane Yomomma really can't allow libertarian governance to even be perceived as possibly succeeding, because if that happens it will undermine his dream of global big government technocratic one party totalitarianism for the next thirty years.
I’m making $90 an hour working from home. I never imagined that it was honest to goodness yet my closest companion is earning 16,000 US dollars a month by working on the connection, that was truly astounding for me, she prescribed for me to attempt it simply. Everybody must try this job now by just using this website… http://www.Payathome9.com
And the Washington Post is right on it.
"Argentina set for sharp right turn as Trump-like radical wins presidency"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/11/19/argentina-presidential-election-results-javier-milei/
I’am making over $20k a month working online. I kept seeing how some people are able to earn a lot of money online, so I decided to look into it. I had luck to stumble upon something that totally changed my life. After 2 months of searching, last month I received a paycheck for $19683 for just working on the laptop for a few hours weekly. And best thing is..It’s so Easy…

I have several sites that I typically peruse each morning to catch up with news that "goes a little deeper" than CNN's analysts. Reason is one of them.
Lately, mostly for S & G, but also out of actual curiosity, I started timing the amount of time I spend reading and/or commenting on various sites. My time spent on Reason has been decreasing significantly. This morning this was the only article that seemed worth the time to pull it up. I think that says something about the value of this site, which to me is steadily decreasing. There is little the editors are not "against", almost nothing that they are willing to admit they are "for", and their "impartial libertarianism" claim is the finest quality azalea fertilizer.
Asian is the new white.
Without, of course, actually replacing the old white, merely joining us as to be despised.
Like Gay is the new Straight.
As a result of the investigation, the university has barred the psychology department from "conducting searches for tenured and tenure-track faculty positions" for at least two years...
NOBODY GETS TENURE. HAPPY NOW?
Eliminate public funding from these places.
The No. 2-ranked candidate was Asian.
The rankings sound like a bunch of shit to me.
Second place will just have to take it on the chin.
The photo is subtle awesome for the topic. The white chad with his collar popped towering over everyone, staring off into the distance. The black guy wearing a rosary around his neck for no apparent reason. All “students”, no books or even backpacks really. The “NY Heart*’s* (Love's?) Me.” shirt. Everybody with laughing but not looking at each other like somebody farted and they don’t know who… forced inclusiveness and cultural diversity at its finest.
Books are racist.
The drum circle they had was real.
They're right out of TV commercial casting 101.
I guess there wasn't room in the article for the part where they all got fired for being racists.
Does anything this will slow down the DEI train? You simply make the black guy #1 in ranking. Higher than #1 if he's trans.
Re: a comment above, yeah the pic is diversity at its finest and most puke-inducing. Does anyone think this is a "natural" grouping of any humans anywhere:
White guy - 1
Black guy - 2
White woman - 1
Black woman - 2
Asian guy - 2
WHERE ARE THE ASIAN WOMEN AND NATIVE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Literally shaking.
I think they were on the O.J murder trial jury.
Well, if you want a diverse omelet, you gotta break some eggs.
Why is Asian capitalized but not white or black? Is Charles dissing my race?
Black should be capitalized, because it refers to a real and distinct subculture. White should not be, because it is simply a vague term of racism and does not refer to any specific people.
"because it refers to a real and distinct subculture."
I generally use it to refer to skin color, though, not any underlying commonly associated subcultures.
When two people already with hyphenated last names get eloped, do the offspring gain a triple hyphenated quadruple last name?
The children get to pick a name when they choose their sex.
Maybe the number 3 candidate offered to work for less.
Next year, he will sue for discrimination in pay.
In the overall scheme of the things, who cares? The Washington Huskies football team is undefeated!
They always trying to keep the white man down!
