Brickbat: No Good Deed

Officials in Center Township, Pennsylvania, have agreed to pay nearly $1 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the family of a Good Samaritan who died after being tackled by a city police officer. Kenneth Vinyard was rendering aid to a shooting victim outside a Walmart when he was knocked to the ground by Officer John Hawk. Vinyard suffered a fractured skull and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The guy probably deserved to die for failure to respect the cop's authoritah. Even though the cop was off-duty and in plain clothes, you can always recognize a cop by his sense of entitlement and the guy should have known better than to have said anything other than "Sir, yes sir, right away, sir."
And the taxpayers lose again.
He needed someone to tackle.
If he was blocking and screening the offensive speech of a shooting victim like a Good Samaritan, he deserved to be tackled.
Edit: Sorry in advance for potentially cross-posting. Unclear whether this goes in the pun thread or not.
Good Samaritans are EVIL! I know this, since I read the comments of Mammary-Necrophilia-Fuhrer (AKA Mother's Lament, with a head full of cement). She says that ALL of the EVILS of Section 230 comes from a paragraph heading-label containing "Good Samaritan". So if a Good Samaritan LABEL can do THAT much evil harm, can you IMAGINE what evils an unauthorized real-world Good Samaritan could wreak upon us all?!?!?
Hey, the union cop was just protecting the union job of the EMT, and both support the union job of Scranton Joe.
Where are the woodchippers when you need them?

Imagine how much they would have gotten out of the police officer had they been able to sue him directly. But sadly, the family was stuck with suing the city.
I doubt they would have gotten much out of him, but reducing his financial life to a smoking crater would be more satisfying. It might also be more likely to deter future bad behavior if cops faced more personal consequences for their behavior.

did the Eagles give this Hawk guy a look yet?
