Woman Seriously Injured After Colorado Cops Leave Her Handcuffed in Car Parked on Train Tracks

What do cartoon villains and Colorado cops have in common? Both are prone to leaving women trapped on train tracks, apparently. Newly released video shows a Platteville Police Department officer park his patrol car on train tracks and then exit the car. Still inside was a woman who had been detained as a suspect in a road rage incident.

A little while after the officer exited, a train plowed into the police car.

The woman inside the car—20-year-old Yareni Rios-Gonzalez—survived the crash but was hospitalized with serious injuries including nine broken ribs, according to Denver's 9News. The crash also left Rios-Gonzalez with a broken arm, a fractured sternum, and multiple injuries to her head, back, and legs.

"She doesn't understand why she was left in the car. She was yelling to get their attention and could see the train coming," her attorney, Paul Wilkinson, told 9News.

The officer who parked on the tracks was placed on administrative leave and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Colorado State Patrol are investigating. The department has not released the officer's name, nor any explanation for why he thought it was OK to leave his car parked on train tracks.

According to the CBI, Rios-Gonzalez stopped her vehicle a little past the railroad tracks when she was pulled over. The Platteville cop stopped behind her, on the tracks. He left his car there while detaining Rios-Gonzalez and then continued to leave it parked on the tracks even after she was handcuffed in the back seat, as he and several officers from Fort Lupton searched her car.

Video of the incident first came from Jeremy Jojola, an investigative reporter with 9News. Jojola obtained an edited, 40-second video clip of the crash after filing a records request with the Fort Lupton Police Department.

NEW: Another point of view from the Platteville Police.

"Was she in there?"
"Oh my god she was in there"

And then later…

"Was she in there?"
"She was in there"
"Oh fuck. Oh fuck."

This clip has the first min of audio redacted/missing. pic.twitter.com/AvkRQUKLci

— Jeremy Jojola (@jeremyjojola) September 23, 2022

The department later released longer clips from police body cameras (following a records request from The Denver Post). These videos show police forcing Rios-Gonzalez—who is polite and obedient the whole time—into the patrol car and then going back to search her car. "What's going on? Ma'am, what's going on?" she asks the cops.

None of the officers in the video raise the possibility that leaving the car parked on the train tracks is a bad idea. And it later takes them a while to react after train whistles can be heard.

"Was she in there? Was she in there?" one officer keeps asking after the train hits, which seems odd since they had just put her in there.

Nothing in the videos suggests malice was involved here, but the level of carelessness and stupidity involved is nonetheless stunning.

The Platteville Police Department referred to it as an "unfortunate incident."

The ridiculous panic over "rainbow fentanyl" continues.

I've been dealing with fentanyl misinformation publicly for ~5 years. I'm overly familiar with every myth if not every single new story. Fentanyl misinformation is not an accident. This isn't just happening by accident: pic.twitter.com/gxGr9Em6oM

Arizona can enforce 50-year-old abortion ban. A federal judge has ruled that "Arizona can enforce a near-total ban on abortions that has been blocked for nearly 50 years," reports NPR:

The judge lifted a decades-old injunction that has long blocked enforcement of the law on the books since before Arizona became a state that bans nearly all abortions. The only exemption is if the woman's life is in jeopardy….

The decision from Pima County Superior Court Judge Kellie Johnson came more than a month after she heard arguments on Republican Attorney General Mark Brnovich's request to lift the injunction. It had been in place since shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 decision in the Roe v. Wade case, which held women had a constitutional right to abortion.

Under the now-enforceable law, performing an abortion procedure or providing drugs that induce abortion is a crime punishable by two to five years in prison.

She was an asshole for not leaving room for the police car between her and the tracks.

He was an asshole for arresting her and putting her in the car.

      Morons all around.

      1. RedPilledConservative   3 years ago

Sorry no - there was room behind her truck for the police car - however the police officer was so concerned about his tactical advantage (distance) that he chose not to close the distance and get clear of the tracks. Also, the officers we were so completely engrossed in their search of the vehicle that the obvious train horn closing on them went unnoticed...

An FBI whistleblower has reported to the Office of Special Counsel that he believes the bureau and Justice Department are violating the constitutional rights of Jan. 6 defendants, falsifying statistics on domestic extremism and misusing SWAT teams to make misdemeanor arrests, according to a copy of the complaint reviewed by Just the News.

Special Agent Stephen M. Friend, who works for the FBI in Florida and serves as a SWAT team member, told the main federal whistleblower office in Washington he had an "exemplary" work record since he joined the bureau in 2014 and even won awards but was suspended in recent days after he began raising concerns about the FBI's and DOJ's conduct in the Jan. 6 investigation

So all of the people dead of overdoses are just "misinformation"? I guess since they are generally just brown people and white trash, they are not dead dead or something.

I wonder who would pay all that money for drugs only to turn around and give it away for free...

Doesn't sound like any drug addict/dealer that I've ever met in my life.

          1. Stuck in California   3 years ago

That's been the case since the 70s when the whole "gotta check the kid's candy" urban legends started spreading,

Then when the "people are giving out marijuana edibles" thing in the last few years came out it was obvious. Ain't no stoner on earth handing his stash of edibles out for free.

But the tweets were nice and telling. Everyone, not retweeting, saying literally the exact same words. Cut and paste. Obviously someone out there trying to sew dissent, which is what many of the troll farms are on twitter to do.

            1. Square = Circle   3 years ago

Everyone, not retweeting, saying literally the exact same words. Cut and paste.

Yeah - that was striking. Although the number of dots your ellipsis seems to be open for some individual spin.

              1. Stuck in California   3 years ago

I'm cynical about that to no end. We all know Media Matters have several arms who very blatantly manipulate social media. Democrat part does it, republicans too but they're not very good at it. Some think tanks we know -- RFK Jr has a boiler room of social media.

The Chinese, Russians, and Iranians are all massively involved. Russians aren't trump supporters, they're shit stirrers. Things like stupid ads supporting trumps or trying to invite people to rallies on Facebook came out, but their general MO is to try and get people arguing and divided. We're likely doing the same on the Russian langage social media. Iranians are shit stirrers too, but not as good at it.

Chinese are all over the place, spying, manipulating, posting very stilted pro China messages, intimidating expats, and subtly controlling messages in other places. They have a massive apparatus worldwide for social media manipulation.

And there are lots of private parties and other state and non-state actors doing it on various smaller scales.

Almost anything on the front page of Reddit could be manipulated content. Twitter is half bots arguing with other bots. Almost any news site with a message board has massive manipulation going on from very obvious professional trolls. A good number of posters here are 50 centers, and there's not a lot of traffic.

So, yeah. The same shit reposted verbatim is either one of these troll farms trying to cause division and unhappiness for... I dunno why. For their own ends. Or someone's pulling a 4Chan and trying to convince the mainstream media of the most ridiculous thing possible to see if they bite. Just for lolz.

Or, if it's the mainstream media, maybe they're parroting at Democrat party "talking points" memo, which is blatantly obvious these days being as we don't only have a local paper, instead seeing headlines from dozens of national news sources. We see that. A lot. But I think that's a different issue.

          2. Square = Circle   3 years ago

I wonder who would pay all that money for drugs only to turn around and give it away for free…

Yeah - they kept telling me all through the '80s that drug dealers were handing out free drugs to kids left and right, and I kept looking for these guys but could never find them.

The 'give them a dose to get them hooked' argument especially doesn't work when you're trying to say that they're doing so anonymously. How does the now-addicted kid know where to go to get more? Or are we supposed to believe that these guys willing to hand out opiates to kids are just doing so for the general welfare or their drug-dealer community because they're nice that way?

            1. Red Rocks White Privilege   3 years ago

Yeah, they‘re desperate for the Latino vote, and about 90-95% of Latinos hate the term Latinx. It’ll return November 9th.

        1. Derp-o-Matic 6000   3 years ago

The "Latinx" thing is just a symptom of the larger issue, though, which is that Hispanics are abandoning the Democrats in pretty big numbers.

    3. Agammamon   3 years ago

They didn't lose Salon - they're just mutating to 'latine'. Which is just as problematic. But they don't see the problem. They see 'latinx doesn't confirm to Spanish grammar' when the problem is 'this change is literally the colonialist thinking foisted by whites onto non-white you claim to oppose'.

So the egregore has changed the algorithm and is propagating the changes to its nodes.

      1. Social Justice is neither   3 years ago

So they can't see how close that new formulation is to 'latrine' and how that would be an issue?

      2. Quo Usque Tandem   3 years ago

        Latine.

        1. InsaneTrollLogic   3 years ago

I'm guessing, if following Spanish pronunciation rules (which progs seem to ignore), it would be "lah-teen-eh". Of course, in Spanish, there's no such word.

      3. Red Rocks White Privilege   3 years ago

Most don't even identify as Latino--they might use Hispanic, but normally they just identify by their ethno-nationalist origins. Guatemalan, Mexican, Cuban, Venezuelan, etc. Trying to get Hispanics to identify as a pan-ethnic group is about as futile as Nasser trying to bring about a pan-Arab ethnostate in the Middle East.

        1. Square = Circle   3 years ago

          ^

It's not unlike 'Native Americans,' who in general identify with their tribe and nothing else.

"Actually I'm Chumash. Past that, whether or not you want to incorrectly call me American Indian or Native American doesn't make much difference to me."

          1. Red Rocks White Privilege   3 years ago

The closest I've ever seen to a pan-ethnic identity for Hispanics is when the "Chicano Pride" stuff was popular in the late 60s-70s (typically encompassing the mestizo population of the southwest), but even that was largely Mexican in character with the Aztlan nonsense. A lot of that died out when the main leaders like Corky Gonzales and Reies Tijerina lost their mojo.

        2. Ska   3 years ago

Maybe it's regional, but I've found the most common use of Latino/a is from LA-based Mexican descendants. I don't know any NYC based Puerto Ricans who call themselves Latino/a.

Agreed on the pan-ethnic comment though. Like all other ethnic groups, lumping together all nationalities from a continent or geographic region doesn't really fly.

          1. Red Rocks White Privilege   3 years ago

Maybe it’s regional, but I’ve found the most common use of Latino/a is from LA-based Mexican descendants. I don’t know any NYC based Puerto Ricans who call themselves Latino/a.

A lot of that probably dates from when their numbers started to increase in the 80s and 90s, when the use of Latino was more common in American media and pop culture.

Democrats don't want President Joe Biden to run in 2024.

To be specific, they don't want his handlers running again.

    1. Briggs Cunningham   3 years ago

Most primaries are winner take all. You don't need a majority of support to win the primaries. If the Democrats can't coalesce around a single opponent, chances are very good the senile old bastard wins the nomination again. It is very hard to unseat a sitting President. I give the Democrats less than a 50/50 chance of doing it.

They could do it, if the media and the Democrats in Congress were willing to be honest about Biden's corruption. Then they could just let the Republicans impeach him and then vote to remove him from office or have enough Democrats vote to do it to fatally wound him. I don't see that happening, however, because Democrats would never violate the rule against calling out each other's corruption.

      1. HorseConch   3 years ago

The media could crush him in a heartbeat, but that's extremely unlikely. What are the chances 2020 would have been remotely close if he had a fair, skeptical media? They carried enough water for him to turn the Sahara green, and they still barely drug Bernie Lomax across the finish line.

        1. Briggs Cunningham   3 years ago

If the media ever admits the truth and crushes him, that will raise the question why they didn't report any of it in 2020. All of this stuff was known in 2020. Yeah, the media are all shameless liars and would think nothing of pretending it was all somehow new. I don't think even they think they could get away with that though. So, I bet they don't do it and he is the nominee in 24.

          1. HorseConch   3 years ago

It's obvious to anyone willing to look why they didn't report it in 2020. I don't think that bothers them as long as they are helping the "right" side.

            1. Stuck in California   3 years ago

The Republicans would never impeach him.

They did that to Clinton and it scared the fuck out of them - they'd never been so successful as an 'opposition' party.

After that they swore to be more careful in order to only offer the appearance of opposition and not endanger the march through the institutions.

Plus who else do they have, really? Harris? Buttigieg? Clinton?

        1. Red Rocks White Privilege   3 years ago

Newsom and Buttigieg will be the big two. Newsom's already inserting himself as the face of the party, while Buttigieg is gay and comes off like an unthreatening moderate even though he isn't, which normies love.

In particular, Buttigieg is probably even more of a threat than Newsom, and people are severely underestimating the guy if they don't see that. He's oily as hell (his staff was connected to the company that did the voting app for the Iowa caucus that turned in to such a clusterfuck), his daddy was a marxist professor who translated Gramsci's journals, and he has ties to the intel community from his time as a Reserves officer. The whole "Mayor Pete" thing is a cover for how insidious and well-connected this guy really is. He clearly can't run a large federal department for shit and would be a disaster as a President, but he knows how to engage with the media; CNN wasn't kissing his ass just because he's gay, or else Jared Polis would be getting a lot more attention as a Dem who is actually competent at his job.

Don't believe the hype about blacks not voting for a gay man for President. They'll not only vote for him, they'll do so eagerly.

Bobby O'Rourke's political career is likely done for the short term. He's not going to beat Abbott in a down year for Democrats, he's already lost to one of the most disliked Senators in the chamber during a Democrat-friendly mid-term, and he's a gun-grabber and a showboat who still acts like a hyper-earnest, idiot college student even though he's 50 years old.

He literally has no skills other than being a professional politician (seriously, he hasn't done shit as an adult other than live off his family and wife's family's money), so don't be surprised if he runs for some kind of low-profile state office and tries to make a comeback in about 4-8 years.

I never understood why this particular puppet got taken seriously. I could commit child abuse convince some poor child on the spectrum of almost anything and get them to speak on the topic. Nobody would notice, or care and rightly so. Being obnoxious with good handlers doesn't make a child an expert, or even qualified, at anything.

Her parents are elites in Sweden, and her cause is supported by globalist organizations with gobs of money and influence like the WEF. Her whole schtick was astroturfed from the start; the Facebook hack that briefly revealed sockpuppet names showed that most of her social media posts were done by her dad and uncle, and in one instance, during the big “India farmer protest,” a couple years ago, her Twitter account accidentally posted a bunch of documents showing that it was a globalist color revolution op against the Indian government, just like the Fentanyl Floyd riots here.

The protagonist was a child rapist pretending to be crazy to get out of being convicted and the methods Ratched promoted were considered good science at the time and really no worse than the "just kick them out on the street and pretend they are sane" method we use now.

      1. Red Rocks White Privilege   3 years ago

One of the dumber aspects of that book/movie was how a pedophile was the hero of the story.

Of course, the guy who wrote the book was a degenerate hippie and a drug addict who reflected the opinion of another marxist pedophile, Foucault, that mental institutions were oppressive to the "beings that were not allowed to be." The streets of our glorious deep blue shitholes are proof enough as to the idiocy of that take, but don't expect the politicians or people living there to exhibit enough self-awareness to realize it.

It’s a genuine conundrum for anyone who respects liberty.

Not really. Someone needs to be responsible for each individuals behavior. If they can't do it themselves and there is no one willing to accept guardianship, then it falls to the state. It is true that bad things happen in institutions, but that doesn't mean it isn't better for most than being homeless and shitting on the sidewalk.

Cheney wagging her finger at Youngkin is just the icing on the cake for this bitch's self-righteous attitude. It was stupid as hell for the Arizona GOP to nominate Lake, who's an ex-TV anchor that supported Obama, which should have been an instant disqualification for any GOP candidate. But Youngkin's supporting her because he doesn't want the Democrat to win, which is fine in a purple state where political margins mean everything to getting an actual agenda passed.

What this shows is that the neocon faction of the GOP has been completely marginalized now. They're either full-blown Democrats like Kristol, Rubin, Boot, or Steve Schmidt, or pompous Puritans like Cheney and Kinzinger who got intoxicated by the media asspats. The Cheney types are going to eventually join the Democrats in the new political alignment, because they're globalists above all else and will overlook any other policy disagreements in the service of working towards that larger NWO goal.

Depends on how tense things get between Hispanics and blacks.

I'm totally serious here. It's not that Hispanics are "natural conservatives," it's that their numbers continue to grow, and they don't particularly like African-Americans to begin with unless they've been sufficiently Americanized to believe that Black Lives Matter over their own ("because until Black Lives Matter, no one's matter").

If they think supporting the GOP over Democrats will put them higher on the social totem pole and prioritize their own ethno-nationalist agendas, they'll switch in greater numbers. If the Dems can continue convincing them that white people are the greatest evil, then they won't.

Germany’s “Tenfold Increase in Gas and Electricity Prices” Is Driving Out Industry

    Translation:

Arcelor-Mittal, the world’s largest steel producer, is shutting down two production facilities at the end of September due to high energy prices in Germany. “Until further notice,” one of the two blast furnaces at the plate steel site in Bremen will be shut down. And the direct reduction plant at the Hamburg long steel mill is also to be shut down. In addition to the already high costs for gas and electricity, the gas surcharge planned from October will place a further burden on the competitiveness of energy-intensive plants, it says in justification. ‘With a tenfold increase in gas and electricity prices, which we had to accept within a few months, we are no longer competitive in a market that is 25 percent supplied by imports,’ Germany CEO Reiner Blaschek is quoted as saying in a statement from Arcelor-Mittal.

In order to avoid gas consumption in Hamburg, the precursor iron is now being purchased from America in order to be able to continue production – more cheaply, but with a higher CO2 footprint. Reduced work hours is also being introduced at the production sites in Duisburg and Eisenhüttenstadt due to the difficult situation.”

Remember that they did this on purpose by shuttering nuclear and coal plants.

For Proggies, this is doubleplusgood. Constraints on steel pipe from Germany will cripple infrastructure projects in the US and all that earmarked money will sit there, ripe for the looting. As a bonus, lack of infrastructure means building moratoriums and higher water prices, which is always good for those who already own land and keeps them from voting against their interests. And since they can blame the high water prices on climate change, the logic becomes completely circular and can't be refuted.
