Republican Governors and Attorneys General Think Every State Is a Border State
Some states that do not border Mexico have sought to play a role in immigration policy.

Republican officials in several states have taken immigration enforcement into their own hands since President Joe Biden took office, arguing that the federal government is not adequately addressing migrant arrivals at the U.S.-Mexico border. These efforts often duplicate federal enforcement measures and rack up bills for taxpayers with little or no public safety payoff.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently signed legislation requiring every Florida law enforcement agency that operates a county jail to enter into an agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under Section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. These agreements deputize state or local cops to enforce certain aspects of federal immigration law. The new Florida law seems largely redundant, since Border Patrol agents already have jurisdiction throughout the state and 46 of its 67 counties already have 287(g) agreements.
As migration economist Michael Coon notes, Florida's law will "put a burden on the communities that, for whatever reason, decided not to participate" prior to its passage. Doing ICE's job is not cheap for local jurisdictions. The sheriff's office in Arizona's Maricopa County ran a $1.3 million budget deficit in 2008 largely thanks to 287(g)-related officer overtime. Maricopa County has paid an additional $43 million in legal expenses due to racial profiling and discrimination lawsuits stemming from its 287(g) program.
Some Republican governors whose states are distant from the southern border have chosen to expand their mandates by deploying state resources there. Last June, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem sent several dozen National Guard troops to Texas. Iowa and Arkansas did the same, while Ohio, Nebraska, and Florida sent state police and other state law enforcement officers. Although not all of those deployments were funded by state taxpayers (South Dakota used a private donation, for instance), diverting state employees to the border reduces the number working for the residents they are supposed to serve.
Some states that do not border Mexico have sought to play a role in immigration policy through lawsuits. When the Biden administration tried to rescind a public health order that had authorized 1.8 million migrant expulsions in the name of fighting COVID-19, the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana joined Arizona in suing to keep the order in place. A federal judge in Louisiana then blocked the Biden administration from lifting the order.
You don't need to look at a map to know that not every U.S. state is actually a border state. Governors and attorneys general who pretend otherwise are spending precious public resources with little benefit to their constituents.

North Dakota has no business telling the United States how it should enforce (or not) border security or immigration. That sort of thing should be handled by the residents of Martha's Vineyard, New York City, Washington, DC, and other such border areas.
North Dakota is a border state.

Does Fiona think that illegal immigrants just stay in border states??? And since they don't stay in border states, why shouldn't other states have a say???? Fuck! I thought this was reason.com.
You don’t need to look at a map to know that not every U.S. state is actually a border state. Governors and attorneys general who pretend otherwise are spending precious public resources with little benefit to their constituents.
Look… Fiona. I’m going to now usher in my inner bigot, so fucking get ready. What happens when you have a nation of X population, and let in another population of X from other nation X+X=2X? Your nation becomes like their nation. That’s what fucking happens. This is reason.com right? We can rub two brain cells together here, right? As an example, the population of Iceland is about 400k people. Imagine if a million obese, gun loving, burger eating, football throwing people from Texas were to move to Iceland. Do you think they would be speaking Icelandic anymore? Of course not. Do you think they would be honoring the traditions and culture of the people of Iceland? No they wouldn’t! I think you can see where I’m going with this.
I have a lot of friends from Mexico. My friends are great people, but they are more like Americans than like Mexicans. Also, I’m not in a border state, yet there are taco trucks on every street corner. What’s up with that Fiona? I’m not saying don’t let any in. I’m saying lets let them in slower, so we get a better blending process across time. Already there is a section of my city that looks like little Mexico. If I wanted to live in Mexico, I’d pack my shit and go there.
Correct. You cannot bring all from there. Without here becoming there.
right? i get that as a libertarian I'm supposed to think immigration is always great, but the people at reason really need to see how unenforced border control is going to be a serious detriment to our country.
It's not just bad for our nation, it's bad for their nation. If we take every citizen who is unhappy with their government (or in many cases with their jobs) who the heck is supposed to fix their nation? Oh, that's right, WE ARE.
Florida is not a border state with Mexico. Water on three sides and Alabama and Georgia on the other. So where did all these illegals come from? Joe Biden's air flights. DeSantis correctly stated Florida is not a sanctuary state. So why the hub-bub when he moves them to sanctuary state cities and states that claim they want and love illegals?
TReason.com fails again.
Didn't DeSantis have to import his immigrants from Texas?
The Venezuelan ones. Not even he has the balls to touch the Cuban ones.
So, how many of the illegal immigrants asked to be sent by INS to Yakima Washington? Could they even find it on a map? The ones DeSantis flew to Martha's Vineyard signed a waiver stating that they knew they were being flown to Massachusetts.
Saying states not on the border have no say in immigration is to deny the effects of the policy on them, sort of like saying that air pollution in Vermont is no affair of New Hampshire.
but they're not coming into FLorida from Cuba in any significant numbers. Hah there are not enough Cubans LEFT in Cuba to flood Florida any more.
Nope, folks from all over the world are making their way into Mexico because the word "out there" is that once in Mexico its a free hop skin and a jump into America, where everything is free to the indigent,
Most of those venezolanos made their way from their homeland, or remains of it, into Mexico and thence across the southern dotted line in the sand into Utopia.
Flying people from TX to state not your own is not importing them. 🙂
No one is "importing" them into the US They are finding their own way here expecting US to shift them about to spread them round our country so no one area gets slaughtered by bearing the weight of all two or three millions of them.
Imagine three million border jumpers suddenly descending upon Florida, or Maryland, or Martha's Vineyard. System overload, utter collapse, game over.
Spread them round everywhere, it will take longer and include many times more before any "tipping point" or "gullens under" will occur.
"Republican officials in several states have taken immigration enforcement into their own hands since President Joe Biden took office, arguing that the federal government is not adequately addressing migrant arrivals at the U.S.-Mexico border."
Fiona, are you and Reason editors arguing otherwise? Please show your work.
Sanctuary localities sent a warm invitation, Republican governors are arranging first class transportation to the ball.
+1
Seriously Fiona and Reason Editors. You guys are going full retard on this issue.
Disagree. Even full retards are like "That's a whittle too faw."
Hey, Shika isn't here to weigh in so saying they are going full is a stretch. Just mostly. I support open borders, but only as a libertarian (no border control for freely moving individuals and goods, no welfare state, no aggressive armies allowed). If you believe the government should provide it's citizens social goods or services like a progressive, then open borders doesn't make sense.
Borderline incoherence is all they have.
You guys are going full retard on this issue.
"going"?
You want to see FULL retard? Wait til Jeffy and the rest of the Retard Rangers show up in force to white knighting for Fiona.
‘Jeffy and the Retard Rangers’ wouldn’t be a bad band name.
Immigration is the #1 reason why Koch-funded libertarians support Democrats. Until the GOP returns to its more billionaire-friendly early 2000s neocon incarnation, Republican politicians don't deserve our votes.

PS — Kristi Noem isn't even that attractive. I don't understand the hype. Know who is a strong beautiful woman who recently won a gubernatorial election? Georgia's Stacey Abrams.
PPS — And #Resistance legal Twitter, those brilliant analysts who have never been wrong in the past 6 years, informed me DeSantis is guilty of KIDNAPPING and HUMAN TRAFFICKING. Biden's DOJ needs to put him behind bars.

Yep. Since immigrants who make it to border states always stay there, and never move anywhere else, Governors in interior states have nothing to worry about. Right?
Fionna, this is ridiculous. 1) Last I checked, 2 out 3 Americans live within a 100 miles of a border. ACLU had a handing map that showed how that constitutional exclusion zone nearly every American. So everyone has a stake in border policy; and regardless of all that they have a stake in how this nation is ran. 2) Hopefully you don't live in a wild fire zone with that thinking, as governors routinely send their fire fighters to other states to help. Same goes for all kinds of disasters. While you may disagree with their policies on how to mitigate the problems of illegal immigration, governors working together to solve problems has a long history in this nation.
And I think we should have way more legal immigration. But writing articles like this one, isn't the way to achieve that.
I always wonder why we SHOULD have MORE immigration [the legal kind being a given...]
What are your reasons, and does it have a formula or do you imagine it as first come first serve?
Diversity is our strength. LOL
Multiculturalism? Or maybe, the destruction of your culture at least?
i just sometimes wonder if its prophylactic - like when people have to say "i dont like Trump" or "i never voted for Trump" before saying something in his defense or in defense of his policies.
It just seems to be signaling you're actually an ok guy even if you disagree with the narrative
I ask because i know I'm not without my own triggers and i can easily take other people's motives the wrong way.
It's a question of basic human freedom. People should be free to live and travel where they choose, free to hire whom they choose, and free to rent or sell housing to anyone. Assuming all of the above are done peacefully, and mutually agreed upon, and no one else is forced to foot the bill.
In those very general terms its easy to accept - hard to see how it applies in our crazily disfunctional immigration environment though.
Even in its general formulation though - it sees to neglect the idea and\or reality of nation states.
"and no one else is forced to foot the bill"
Welfare state= Controlled borders
Non-welfare state= Open borders
I prefer to have a robust legal immigration system where the USA sets quotas for legal immigration/work permits and stops illegal border crossers without considering asylum. We need immigrants, but only the working kind.
Even then, we’ve successfully retconned the tales of immigration from 400 yrs. ago into taking stories. Even using your own resources created by ‘your own people’ to even appear as other people, whether you step on their land or not, is appropriation. People who left unrelated lands, well after all the Indians were put on reservations, and settled here without quarrel, somehow stole land from the Indians. The idea that immigration could be done anywhere today without compelling anyone else to foot any bill is beyond absurd.
Exactly, natural rights. What this country was supposed to promote.
re-read your last phrase again.
THERE is the root of the issue. WHO is now paying for their health care, housing, food, transportation, daycare, schooling, etc? WE ARE. No wonder infltion is syrocketing. Three million new folks to coddle and care for indefinitely HAS put an YUUUUGE burthen on we who pay the taxes to fund it. How many new "special agents" are now sucking off the public teat to manage and care for these "arrivals"?
I knew a woman some years ago, she had a six year old daughter, claimed her former husband deadbeat, the moment the divorce papers were final she and her then boyfriend moved up to Ketchikan Alaska. After a month or two with HER full time, he had more than had his fill of her craziness, and left her stranded there in Ketchikan Well, she thought,I'll just go find the local "social services" office and they will have to pay my way (she had lived in California almost all her life, and had mastered the game there). So the intake clerk took the information, filled out some papers, went into another room, came back after a few minutes with her "welfare payment". It was a state-purchased one way ticket for her and her now sevenyear old daughter back to her parents hometown. She looked at that started arguing with the clerk, who replied "sweetie you came here on your nickel, your boyfriend dumped you, you are broke and hungry. The People of the State of Alaska are faced with two options: support you with little hope you will ever stop "needing" that support, or buy you a ticket to go back to from where you came. We are NOT doing the first of those two things, so you decide whether you want that ticket back home or to starve and get mighty cold here this winter, not that far away now."
She took the tickets and she and her daughter went back to Mommy's House.. I've little doubt she had to wait very long to find another desparate Sugar Daddy back in the "GOlden State".
No surprise her last one dumped her.
The entire United States Government need to adopt this set of values for those who cannot or will not work, and want to be able to just suck on the public teat.
I've NO issue with those who want to come here, work, make a new life for themselves here WHLIST carrying their own weight. I've known dozens of the VietNamese "blat people" from the '70's or so. Honest hardworking decent people wanting to make a new life to replace the hell their homeland had become They were handed $1500 csh when they got off the boats in Long Beach, They used that money wisely. I know one single Mom who had her infant daughter with her. Her husband could never be found, she's got NO IDEA what happened to him. So she carried on on her own. She ended up owning free and clear one of the best restaurants in my medium sized town, and put her Daughter through Yale Law School on money sha made with her restaurant. She is a community hero in many ways, an excellent example of a GOOD imigrant. She has given away to those in need many times that first $1500 she ws handed as she debarked in Long Beach. Put her Daughter through law school, provided work for many through the decades, helped many others who needed it, and became a well loved local legend.
One of many ofthose Boat People I've known. But the drug-dealing corrupt selfish current crop of "immigrants" need to get their free plane tickets back to from where they came, tomorrow. THAT is the solution to illegal invasion.
Contrary to what the democrats say, we don’t owe any of these people a goddamned thing.
The fertility rate is below replacement. To make up for this, we need immigration. How much and who are the questions. Presumably younger people of child-bearing age to provide more taxpayers the government can sponge off of.
because those tasked with "managing" legal immigration have put SO STINKING MANY roadblocks, high fences, impediments, hurdles, etc, in the way of legal immigrants coming here it takes years and gobs of cash to get here legally.
I've known some folks who married a foreigner thinking that "married to American Citizen" would open the door After TWO full years of deny delay and pay, they finally gave up and SHE moved with him to HIS country. So instead of gaining a taxpayer then lost one. The bar to entry was SO HIGH they could not figure out how to satisfy their moving target. So they now live in HIS country.
No way near the craziest story I've heard on "legal immigratioin". My friends hd seriously considered arranging an illegal border crossing just to get him here, but the risks of the family being torn apart, him in el carcel for months or years, and the financial disaster his deportation without her and the chidren was simply not worth it. So they went back to where HE was from.
I'm all for immigration too, and it makes me wonder what Fiona actually believes in when she has to make up junk like this to buttress her argument. One of the big alarm bells for the climate catastrophists is their exaggerations and outright lies; if they had facts and logic on their side, they wouldn't need to lie.
Some states that do not border Mexico have sought to play a role in immigration policy.
You mean like declaring themselves a sanctuary city/state?
Hahahahahaha!!!
My idiot town did that. I’m tempted to call DeSantis’ office to arrange for him to bus some some them to our downtown area. Not because I want them, but because I want to call the city on their virtue signaling bullshit. We already have big problems from all the homeless they took in when other cities like Seattle bussed their excess homeless here to Spokane. This after we already took in both MelIssa Click and Rachel Dolezal.
We’ve had kore than enough already.
"Some states that do not border Mexico have sought to play a role in immigration policy"
Yes, Harrigan, because when the Federal government is dumping illegal immigrants in, say, Florida or Oklahoma, Florida and Oklahoma become border states.
When illegal immigrants travel from border states to interior states then those interior states are affected by it and want a say in the matter too.
Finally, is only pro-immigration states that are allowed to be in this conversation? Is that your takeaway on the situation?
Yes, Harrigan, because when the Federal government is dumping illegal immigrants in, say, Florida or Oklahoma, Florida and Oklahoma become border states.
As long as they are not sending the illegals to Martha's Vineyard or anywhere important, that is totally different silly.
So declaring yourself a "sanctuary state" and undermining federal enforcement of immigration law isn't playing a role in immigration but trying to assist in enforcing the law is. If reason didn't have double standards, it would have no standards at all. When it comes to immigration especially, reason seems to have a patented blend of smugness and hypocrisy.
This site used to be filled with intelligent articles.
Nowadays, one is apparently required to flunk an IQ test before being permitted to submit an article.
This is such a dumb article. It's as if the author doesn't acknowledge the existence of interstate travel. I live in Tennessee, we are a long way from the border. There are plenty of illegal immigrants in the state. Many from Thailand. They didn't come across the Mexican border. Does Fiona believe we don't have a say in immigration policy because we aren't on the Mexican border?
It’s like they’ve never been to South of the Border (S. Carolina)
I was there about 6 years ago? And weren’t nobody there. Except two or three store clerks. Plenty of room.
She's an idiot. This is one of the worst articles I've ever read on Reason.
I'm waiting for the big reveal where the Hindu letters in Fiona Harrigan's name rearrange spell out 'I am Shikha Dalmia'.
Lol! I wish the person they put on the immigration articles had good libertarian reasoning though. I've never read a reason article that addresses it well from the staff writer assigned, because they always have to couch everything they write in the context of the culture war.
I thought about seeking out Shitty Shikha’s current writings. But then I thought it would be much simpler, and less painful, to beat myself in the head with a ball peen hammer.
"Interstate travel"
Crossed state lines is only bad when Kyle Rittenhouse does it.
which he did NOT do with his rifle. That never left Wisconsin.
He had close family in Kenosha, and happened to live only fifteen miles away.A short bicycle ride.
Given that the illegals are flooding into every state in the nation, and are often transported there by the federal government, that is reasonable.
The payoff is financial: every removal of an illegal migrant from a state saves taxpayers of that state a lot of money.
And for good reason: all Americans are harmed by the flood of illegal migrants, both at the state and at the federal level.
"Given that the illegals are flooding into every state in the nation, and are often transported there by the federal government, that is reasonable."
Anything that can be rationalized is reasonable, look at any of Tony's posts. That doesn't mean they are ethical.
"The payoff is financial: every removal of an illegal migrant from a state saves taxpayers of that state a lot of money."
Even if that guy was going to work and pay taxes (not payroll which none of us should pay anyway, but state excise or sales or property or whatever) and not receive as many benefits as the average citizen? Reason has a bunch of articles on this where they don't get it right but the numbers showing illegals as paying more than they receive seems logical.
"And for good reason: all Americans are harmed by the flood of illegal migrants, both at the state and at the federal level."
Did COVID harm is or did the government response harm us? Same thing for immigration in my opinion.
These people violated our laws; they should be fined, incarcerated, and then sent home and permanently excluded from the US. Giving them free flights to Chicago or MV is something they don't even deserve.
That is likely because they are using a sufficiently narrow definition of "benefits". In reality, every American costs the taxpayers somewhere around $25000/year on average, and even more if you take into account other costs that the government has socialized via regulations. Unless a population pays at least that much on average in annual taxes, they are a net drain. To pay that much in annual taxes means that the average income over all illegal immigrants (men, women, and children) would have to be somewhere around $90000, which obviously it is not. In fact, almost every single illegal alien will never make that much per year in their lifetime.
If someone could prove to you that your math is fuzzy to the point of absurdity, would you be relieved and then change your position to open borders?
I'll assume you don't think the US federal government should force every pregnant person to have an abortion lest they pop out one of those expensive humans.
Sure. But that’s about as likely as someone being able to prove 2+2=5.
No, unlike progressives, I don’t believe that: not only is it unethical, it is against the law and the Constitution. However, it is neither illegal nor against the Constitution nor against international law or human rights to prevent non-citizens from entering the US.
As for incomes, the situation with American-born kids is that they give rise to a distribution of incomes representative of US incomes as a whole; that is, roughly 20% of them end up in the top quintile. The situation with illegal migrants is that 99.99% of them end up in the bottom half of the income distribution.
But kids cost an enormous amount of money for at least 18 years, and immigrants are fully grown.
Any way you slice it, immigrants are a net benefit to the US economy, and you just hate brown people.
I thought most illegals were the result of visa overstays, not border jumpers. At least that is the canard used to shoot down people who want a border wall. Air travel has effectively erased the concept of a border in that regard. Every state with an international airport is a border state.
silly logic, or imitation thereof.
NO one can get on a commercial airliner bound for a country other than the one it is in when boarded, without providing documentation showing the legal right to be in that country where the plane will land, or another one further down the line. Thus hardly anyone would be able to fly into the US on a commercial airline without being vetted by US Customs and Immigration in the country of departure. Saying anything otherwise is false.
The riff raff busting our border by the tens/hundreds of thousands could not even board an airliner in Mexico bound for the US.
You've been lied to and swallowed it greedily.
I can't believe politicians would try to jump into a hot national political issues to gain political clout even though it has nothing to do with their particular state. /s
Since ICE/Border Patrol maintains jurisdiction within 100 miles of any point of entry, THEY ARE.
Should non-border states just ignore human trafficking then, if the traffickers are successful in smuggling people past the border states?
Right now sanctuary states do not assist ICE in immigration enforcement. Locally elected officials essentially determine what is or isn't' a deportable crime, regardless of federal law.
What is wrong at Reason? Are there no editors? This article is next level stupid in its most basic premise.
Why are we doing this??
Reason Editors have gone full retard. Of course, most of them live in non-border states. It's easy for them to virtue signal, until a small amount of illegal immigrants show up in their area.
The articles here just keep getting dumber and dumber and "obtuser and obtuser."
Is someone pulling our chain?
Stop calling them "illegal immigrants". THey are either legally arrived immigrants, or they are illegal foreign invaders.
If they have the paperwork in order, they are immigrants. If they do not, they are not. Illegal ones did NOT take care of the paperwork and thus can NOT be immigrants. f
If you think the Republicans are tough on immigration, you should hear the Dems complain about Jews building homes over the green line.
Last I checked, 'the border' is 100 miles in from the border, so almost every state is a 'border state'.
https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/border-zone
Not every state is a border state but immigration is not merely a "borders" issue. Come on. There are lots of things not to like about our national immigration policy and the political reactions to it but this article's complaints are just stupid.
Remember when reason wrote about "border" exceptions to US search and seizure law,? Remember how it covers a huge percentage of the US?
Remember 200 miles from any border or crossing, including all international airports?
That's totally different. Because shut up.
"These efforts often duplicate federal enforcement measures and rack up bills for taxpayers with little or no public safety payoff."
There is no such thing as "public" safety. Or health. Or anything else. If you think that's the case, go use "public" property however you wish as a member of the public. There is only collectivists insidiously convincing people to act according to their progressive ideology on how to live a good life. Bring back private health, safety, and property. Vote libertarian!
Just say you're a #wokenazi.
Just say it.
We all pay Federal taxes which makes the border problem the problem for ALL of us since we PAY for enforcement or should I say LACK of enforcement? If the idiot that wrote this article doesn't understand that illegal immigration affects all of us then they should go find a different job.
It seems the primary requirement for those writing a Reason article is the ability to write drivel without shame.
By my count there are exactly 13 states that are not border states.
Meaning there are 37 Border states.
Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentuky and Tennesse.
All other states are either directly on the border and/or within 100 miles of the border, where Customs and Border Patrol claim they have jurisdiction.
If there is an official government definition of what a border area is, it is the CBP jurisdiction map.
Are there really people who don't understand that a state like Virginia that borders the Atlantic ocean literally is on the border of the country?
Your count is incorrect. There are no states that lack at least one international airport.

The ONLY excuse ever given me here for why libertarians should give a wet fart about what imaginary lines other people cross is that they will drain the welfare state.... that libertarians want to see drained. Except they won't, naturally, since they'll only make any welfare state more solvent, which is basic arithmetic.
So the one reason libertarians give for why they're so obsessed with borders and immigration has been repeatedly debunked for them. To my great shock, they don't collapse in giddy relief knowing that people can be more free without absorbing their free government money, they go on demanding draconian restrictions on other people's freedom of movement.
What gives, guys? I don't understand.
I do understand, and so do you. Look in the mirror. Do you see the master race? Didn't think so.
Illegal migrants don’t “drain the welfare state”, they drain the pockets of American taxpayers. And libertarians don’t want to “drain the welfare state”, we want to abolish it.
But thanks for giving such a clear example of a dishonest argument based on equivocation.
You think in terms of “master race” and “white people”. That’s because you are a racist and a fascist, Tony. Normal, decent people don't think like you.
the welfare state…. that libertarians want to see drained.
Abolished, not "drained", you idiot.
-jcr
Horrible. Your articles are horrible. Reason needs to take a look at your work.
Stupid article is stupid. Since the advent of international air travel, all states are border states.
-jcr
Fiona,
With the Biden regime flying illegal immigrants around the country in the middle of the night every state has ample rights to be concerned. Even without the hypocrisy of the Biden regime all states do have legitimate rights to voice their concerns.
The "Martha's Vineyard Stunt" is what is driving most of the concern. The leftist were exposed as Virtue Signaling NIMBY's who have been demonizing anyone who has shown any degree of concern.
These same leftist with the corporate media attempt to boil down every issue into a binary choice. Much like abortion where the leftist spin the false notion that there are only two positions, they do with immigration. Real like is much more gray.
While I believe that the goal should be a much more open immigration policy, the problem is within the bureaucracy of the regime. There are way too many fingers in the pot by the corrupt regime.
There is no reason for length of time it currently takes to legally immigrate, nor any justification for the price tag. At the same time migrants are not citizens and should not be counted in the census for the purposes of allocating congress, they should not be allowed to vote until they have applied and have been granted citizenship.
Assistance to states with large numbers of migrants would be based on the number of legal immigrants. Legal immigrants should have some degree of a safety net, but not as much as citizens and illegal immigrants should should be promptly deported.
If you fix the regime bureaucracy, then there will be less illegal immigration. Like most of our laws, we have far too many, far too many ineffectual laws, far too many laws that conflict with other laws. This needs to be drastically reduced. My guestimate is the 9/10th of all laws are stupid, unjust, unfair and should be repealed.
While I'm not typically in favor of stunts, I do believe that the Marth's Vineyard stunt opened up the eyes to the soft racism of leftist. Soft racism is much more heinous as they hide behind empty virtue and perpetuate conflict for political gain.
Not being affiliated with any party and leaning libertarian. I grew up in a deep red state and have lived the majority of my life in a deep blue state. I have a decent handle on people outside of politics.
I find the most Republicans to be apathetic towards politics and social issues, instead favoring more of a live and let live stance. They will when provoked attempt to defend their personal choices especially when they are being demonized on a regular basis.
I find that most Democrats to the cowards where they will virtue signal and compete to be more woke that their neighbors, but are conflicted because they are not true to their own personal feelings. There is a degree of guilt and fear that they will be exposed as a fraud.
In my experience Democrats are far more racist than Republicans. Democrats are far more involved in politics than Republicans. I believe that there is a majority of people somewhere in the middle who would opt for a third party that promoted a more nuanced approach rather that the binary choice presented by the leftist and corporate media.
If Republicans want to live and let live, they should advocate open borders and no abortion restrictions.
Are you saying they have been forced into hysterical xenophobia and misogyny by those mean Democrats?
when will they fire the idiotic, incompetent fiona?
look at her twitter bio: "less war, more immigration". open borders leftist.
Gov. DeSantis is friggin genius. My stomach is still sore from watching wingnuts cry to the wingnut press about the burden these illegal aliens are on their cities and state budgets. What a hoot.
The solution to every economic problem is more people. People are the ultimate resource. Take your current standard of living and remove all the people from it, you won't have it long, even though all the "natural resources" haven't been removed.
Borders aren't real until they are just like riots are "mostly peaceful " right up until they are not.
Even though the "acceptable" ones included widespread arson, and actual murders.
Reason writers continue their self beclownment and descent into irrelevance.
