Boris Johnson Is Out as Britain's Prime Minister. Who Will Replace Him?
Plus: Why one pitcher wants the MLB to stop COVID testing, how shipping industry protectionism is slowing aid to Ukraine, and more...

Bor-exit has begun.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who guided the United Kingdom through its controversial departure from the European Union, is hitting the bricks in London. But just like his signature policy accomplishment, which seemed to take forever to actually get finalized, Johnson's departure from 10 Downing Street looks like it will play out in slow motion. As a result, it could be months before a new prime minister is named.
Traditionally, outgoing prime ministers remain in office until their successors are chosen—and Johnson said Thursday that he intends to do the same. But Parliament is on its summer holiday at the moment, and the internal Conservative Party process for picking a new head of government might not be completed until October, according to the BBC. If more than two candidates stand for the office, Conservatives in Parliament will hold a series of votes to narrow the field. Then, the party's roughly 200,000 card-carrying members will vote by mail to determine the winner.
It's possible that Conservatives will try to accelerate that process as much as possible. Kwasi Kwarteng, a Tory member of Parliament, tweeted Thursday that the party should choose a new leader "as soon as practicable." Meanwhile, leaders of the opposition Labour Party threatened to call for a Parliament-wide vote of no confidence, which would force Johnson to step down immediately if a majority voted to give him the boot.
Another complication is the lack of a clear successor within the Conservative Party's ranks, creating a potentially messy leadership battle.
Suella Braverman, the current attorney general for England and Wales (in the British system, the attorney general is a member of Parliament; yeah, it's weird), threw her hat into the ring on Wednesday, a full day before Johnson announced his resignation. She's a second-generation immigrant and a Brexit hardliner who came to prominence in British politics for opposing softer Brexit deals that the previous prime minister, Theresa May, tried to strike before being replaced by Johnson.
Tom Tugendhat, a Conservative M.P. who opposed Brexit and frequently clashed with Johnson, has also announced his intentions to run for prime minister, according to the Associated Press.
Undeclared candidates who could become front-runners include two prominent lawmakers whose resignations from positions in Johnson's government prompted this week's chaos—Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak. However it shakes out, the potentially dozen-or-so candidates vying to replace Johnson will reflect a changing British society and evolving Conservative Party, notes The New York Times. The race could include "a son of Indian immigrants, an Iraqi refugee, a number of women and a son of a Pakistani bus driver."
Jeremy Hunt, who finished second to Johnson in the leadership contest in 2019, is also likely to run. He's been an outspoken critic of the British government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic—"I actually thought we could have avoided all lockdowns if we had been much quicker and set up test and trace as they did in South Korea and Taiwan," he said in May. On other issues, he's "seen as a moderate and is positioning himself as a safe pair of hands to replace the more erratic Johnson," Axios reports.
Another candidate libertarians may want to keep their eyes on is Steve Baker, the Conservative M.P. who has gained a reputation for being a rebellious and independent voice in Parliament. He's an avowed follower of Austrian economics and uses "Enjoy Freedom Responsibly" as a campaign slogan. "Some people I deeply respect are telling me, even imploring me, to [run for prime minister]," Baker told BBC Radio on Thursday.
Still, the end of the Johnson premiership is a bittersweet moment for libertarians, Robert Jackman writes for Reason: "For all his association with liberty-crushing lockdowns, many of us still remember when Johnson was a darling of the freedom-loving right. He used to be the politician who made his career rallying against the excesses of the nanny state while thumbing his nose at bores and bureaucrats alike."
It was those impulses that made Johnson an effective campaigner for Brexit. But after finalizing Britain's departure from the E.U., Johnson governed more like a mainstream politician—a tendency that led him to some very unlibertarian places during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also supported policies that grew government budgets, expanded tax coffers, and even attempted to tell Brits how to eat better by banning television ads for "crisps" (known to us Yanks as "potato chips").
"For all his promise, the truth is that Johnson—the supposed savior of the Tory right—will end up leaving behind a Britain considerably less free than the one he inherited," Jackman writes. "Many will continue to praise him for delivering Brexit, but this misses the point. While the U.K. may be out of the E.U. legal orbit, we've done almost nothing to take advantage of it, retaining the vast majority of the regulations that Johnson used to rail against so persuasively."

The MLB should "just stop testing" for COVID-19, says New York Mets pitcher Chris Bassitt, who missed a start last week after testing positive despite having no symptoms.
Bassitt told ESPN on Thursday that he "probably won't" inform team and league officials if he tests positive again unless he actually feels sick. Because a positive test can force a player into a regime of additional testing, Bassitt said the league's system could force an asymptomatic player to miss multiple games for merely trying to follow the rules. It's a dilemma, and frustration, to which anyone who's had to deal with a positive COVID-19 test recently can relate.
"Just stop testing. Stop acting like COVID is far worse than a lot of other things," Bassitt said. "I was never sick."
Sports have been at the forefront of America's evolving response to COVID-19 since the NBA shut down in March 2020 as the pandemic hit. Last fall, the NFL's decision to stop regularly testing vaccinated players (focusing only on those who showed symptoms) paralleled the country's evolution away from social restrictions and mask mandates.
Bassitt's comments could represent the next step in the slog toward normalcy as (thankfully) less dangerous strains of COVID-19 continue to circulate.

Humanitarian aid to Ukraine will be delayed and made more costly by protectionist shipping rules:
This is insane:
Food aid shipments are required to be sourced in the US and at least half of the aid must be carried by US flagged ships with US crews.

What causes a #recession? Maybe it's you and how grumpy you are about the #economy
Who decides if the US is in a recession? Eight White economists you've never heard of

Would it suddenly become acceptable if it was 8 Shawnee Tribal Elders I've never heard of?
If it supports the regime narrative, then yes.
Recessions are very racist and mysogynistic. No way should we allow white men to tell us we're in one.
Don't believe any reports from them unless it comes via smoke signals.

Despite fears of a coming recession, the U.S. economy added 372,000 jobs in June, the Department of Labor reported Friday morning. The unemployment rate held steady at 3.6 percent.
Can I just say I'm skeptical? I don't see the Department of Labor as an unbiased source.
Meanwhile, not only did the all ages Labor Force Participation Rate go back down in June from 62.3 to 62.2 percent, but the prime working age (25-54) Labor Force Participation Rate declined by an even larger amount, from 82 6 to 82.3 percent. Also, real productivity in this country has utterly collapsed to generational lows, which I suspect you've probably noticed if you've tried to fly somewhere on a weekend recently, or gone to a store. or done pretty much anything.
The dick sucking Biden-Blocko apologists in the government/media complex who are desperately trying to convince us all that the work and employment picture in America has never been better than it is right now are just lying more relentlessly and shamelessly than they ever have, it really is that simple.
Of course productivity is down. Modern social scientists have proved that effortful work is racist, sexist, and/or oppressive. Government equity policy supports payment for simple existence.
Biden Sold Oil From Emergency Reserves To Chinese Gas Giant Tied To His Scandal-Plagued Son
https://thefederalist.com/2022/07/08/biden-sold-oil-from-emergency-reserves-to-chinese-gas-giant-tied-to-his-scandal-plagued-son/
“The Biden administration sold roughly one million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese state-controlled gas giant that continues to purchase Russian oil, a move the Energy Department said would ‘support American consumers’ and combat ‘Putin’s price hike,'” the Beacon’s Collin Anderson reported. “Biden’s Energy Department in April announced the sale of 950,000 Strategic Petroleum Reserve barrels to Unipec, the trading arm of the China Petrochemical Corporation. That company, which is commonly known as Sinopec, is wholly owned by the Chinese government.”
Sinopec is also tied to Hunter Biden, whose private equity firm, BHR Partners, bought a $1.7 billion stake in the company seven years ago.
Instead of pulling from the strategic reserve to combat Russian oil sales, we should have just taken out all barriers for increased domestic production, driving down the price so the Chinese could choose to buy from whomever.
The Hunter connection is fairly tenuous but it may warrant an investigation.
The fix for high fuel prices is theoretically easy.
The problem is our rulers do not want to lower prices.
They want to destroy the middle, working, small business class.
They want to destroy our way of life.
This is intentional.
Sure they do. That's how they get elected. Cripes what a dummy.
By the way, US oil production was up over covid restricted 2020 in 2021 and on tract to continue the increase in 2022.
Do not engage Joe Asshole; simply reply with insults.
Not a one of his posts is worth refuting; like turd he lies and never does anything other than lie. If something in one of Joe Asshole’s posts is not a lie, it is there by mistake. Joe Asshole lies; it's what he does.
Joe Asshole is a psychopathic liar; he is too stupid to recognize the fact, but everybody knows it. You might just as well attempt to reason with or correct a random handful of mud as engage Joe Asshole.
Do not engage Joe Asshole; simply reply with insults; Joe Asshole deserves nothing other
Eat shit and die, Asshole.
"By the way, US oil production was up over covid restricted 2020 in 2021 and on tract to continue the increase in 2022."
No shit, huh? Oil production is increasing over the year that they completely locked down the industry and kept all the drillers and rig hands at home. The year where all the flights and shipping was suspended and drivers locked up in their houses. The year that saw the lowest production in 100 years.
It's an economic miracle!
See folks, shit like this is how we know that Joe is a fifty-center.
By the way, US oil production was up over covid restricted 2020 in 2021 and on tract to continue the increase in 2022.
Where is it compared to 2019?
Shrike pulled that too. They always think that they're being so tricky.
Right. Remember 2020, when nobody was buying oil and they couldn't even store gas because every reservoir and tank was full? A shock that production of oil slowed that year.
Whoops. Reposted this story lower. Didn't read whole thread.
This story *should* be a nothing burger. Oul is fungible. There us global supply and global demand. The oil flows around the world, and the money flows back around in return.
The reserves should have been simply sold to the highest bidder on public markets.
If that did not happen, then you have a story.
You also have a story if the real reason that the Administration is tapping the reserves is not to have a stupid political stunt as a talking point but as a response to these Biden family business partners.
The reserves have a specific purpose, to ensure threat for us distribution against an embargo such as when the ME did so in the 70s. The purpose is not to get highest market rates and convert to cash. It is not an investment.
Even selling the oil internationally is against its intended purpose.
One article I read said that the reserves are at the lowest point since inception.
That is a legitimate story.
In response to no foreign threat, the Biden administration has drained the reserves by far more than any withdrawal in history.
All to have a "we did something" talking point for the election.... even though the something they actually did was to block new domestic production and transportation, driving up prices.
Biden has not blocked domestic production. In fact US production is up since 2020, Trump's last year. Biden's plans for climate change are debatable, but they have nothing to do with today's production or oil prices worldwide.
Biden has stopped a lot of new drilling and exploration. So while he may not be blocking current production, he's doing his best to block future production.
The future production thing is a bigger deal than people realize.
It's really funny to see lefties out there blaming 'price gouging' (which is practically non existent) or 'record oil company profits' for the high gas prices we're experiencing currently.
One of the main reasons oil companies are experiencing record revenues is because oil and gas prices are high, sure. One of the main reasons they are experiencing record profits is because capital expenditures are down.
Why? Well, they can't prospect for new wells in areas the government won't give them access to, and the ones they do have access to - why would you spend all that capital developing new resources if you're an industry that's being targeted to be shut down and/or regulated out of existence by the current administration? The 'record oil profits' are a direct result of Biden's policies.
There are several reasons that the oil / gas prices are high now, too. One is that we have just come out of a couple-year period where both demand and production were unusually (and artificially) low. So, supply was correspondingly low. As part of the rebound from the pandemic shutdown, there was a sudden surge in demand without a corresponding surge in production or supply. It would have lagged in any event, but some (a lot?) of that is on Biden too.
Doesn’t matter what we say. Commie dumbass Joe will just keep repeating the same lies over and over.
It is amazing watching the lefties so freely and openly. Just in the last 2 weeks he has released a very minimal 5 year lease plan and gone after the largest energy production in the US wIth the EPA. Agencies under him keep blocking permits for easements for transport and pipelines. His doj is working with activist groups to sue energy producers.
The fact you are using covid years as the baseline demonstrates you know you are lying as well.
And in other context they brag about it. He ran on a promise of doing this. It was the 1st thing they did when he came to office.
So when we talk about climate change, they brag about doing all of these things. And yet when we talk about gas prices, they loudly proclaim they did no such thing and that it is all russia's fault.
You know how everybody talks about GDP growth and and how an economy that is not in recession is growing by 2%, or 5%?
That means that energy production needs to go up just to keep even. So bragging about things being larger than they were at the nadir of the pandemic is ludicrous.
Biden has not blocked domestic production. In fact US production is up since 2020, Trump's last year.
And still below 2019, Trump's second-to-last year.
The fact that Joe Asshole keeps trying to sneak this point by makes me think he’s even dumber than I thought. And I thought him plenty dumb.
“….. since 2020…..” I know this has been explained to you before, but didn’t something happen in 2020 that drove demand for oil wayyyy down?
Please stop being a retard, joe.
But, but, but... China! I mean, China! China is our political, ideological, economic, and military enemy! Selling them oil is aiding the enemy!
You can deny what China is, but ignorance does not change what they are.
Calling anyone an "economic enemy" shows a profound ignorance of economics.
Which doesn't have any actual relevance to the fact that China is, in fact, a US adversary.
Which has what to do with selling oil?
As someone above pointed out, its a fungible commodity. Doesn't matter who it is sold to.
China is not using the bought oil to supplement the market dummy.
https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/exclusive-china-boosts-oil-reserves-ignoring-us-push-global-release-2022-02-25/
I thought someone with a PhD in Economics would know what fungible means. You should demand a refund from the online university that gave you that crap degree.
You do understand what taking a good off the market does right? Wait no. You've constantly shown economic ignorance.
See the diamond trade for an example. How much the major suppliers keep off markets.
You do understand that as a fungible commodity, no matter who the oil was sold to originally it could have ended up in China? What China does with it is irrelevant.
Sarc. Youre displaying you dont know what fungible means. Taking an item off market means it is not fungible.
being something (such as money or a commodity) of such a nature that one part or quantity may be replaced by another equal part or quantity in paying a debt or settling an account
Once something is taken off market it is not replaced, it is removed from market.
The oil China is putting into reserve is no longer fungible as it is off market.
They have decreased the market supply. It isnt replaced.
I get what you're saying. Once that oil got to China it ceased to be fungible because it was taken off the market. Same would have happened if they'd used it for gas or plastic or whatever. But that doesn't matter. Once the oil is sold from the Reserve it doesn't matter if China is the first buyer or if the oil floats around on the market for a while. Because oil is fungible. China making the oil they buy not fungible doesn't mean it wasn't fungible when it was sold.
And yeah I know there are warehouses upon warehouses, Indiana Jones style, of diamonds. They are then released to the market in dribs and drabs to keep the prices artificially high. But that's not what his happening here.
Sarc almost admitted he was wrong but just couldn’t quite do it.
Fungible means that regardless of who we originally sold the oil to, it could have still ended up in China.
But keep on calling me a dummy, dummy. It's what you do best.
I call you "fucking idiot" because you apparently don't understand that oil's fungible nature is irrelevant here, and the fact that they're selling the reserves is the important bit.
They are taking oil off the market, not for use retard. You really have no basic understanding of economics.
I call you "fucking idiot" because you apparently don't understand that oil's fungible nature is irrelevant here, and the fact that they're selling the reserves is the important bit.
Really? Looks to me like the important bit is Hunter's connection to the Chinese company that bought the oil. Principals, not principles.
Both are terrible, but you know what's not important? It's fungibility that you were yammering on about.
Fungibility is only unimportant if you want the selling of oil to China to be important.
If you admit the fungibility of oil then you must admit that it being sold to China doesn't matter.
But it does matter. It's the most important thing to you. So of course you're going to dismiss its fungibility.
"It's the most important thing to you.
YOU'RE the one who was banging on about fungibility you drunken sot. Not me.
FFS sarcasmic, you can't even remember shit you posted here an hour earlier. Don't do drugs, kids.
"If you admit the fungibility of oil then you must admit that it being sold to China doesn't matter."
How the hell do you figure that?
"As someone above pointed out, its a fungible commodity."
As soon as Cyto said that I knew that you'd latch on to it. Do you understand why the US has an Emergency Reserve, sarcasmic? Do you know what it's for?
Do you understand why the US has an Emergency Reserve, sarcasmic? Do you know what it's for?
Yup. Yup. And this is not it. The fact that the oil was sold in the first place is the problem. Not who it was sold to. That is irrelevant.
It's not irrelevant because there are two different equally bad things going on here. Both possibly treasonous in the actual (not J6) sense of the word.
If the oil was sold to India, and then China bought the oil that India was going to buy, the end result would be the same.
So it doesn't matter who it was sold to. It only matters if you willfully deny the fungible nature of the commodity so you can whine and cry about Biden this and Biden that. There are plenty of things to criticize that asshat about. Like selling the oil in the first place. But who it was sold to does not matter.
Which has what to do with selling oil?
Giving an adversary stock from our strategic reserve does not actually help gas prices here.
But sarc learned a new word today called fungible and will keep using it despite not understanding it.
Oil is a global commodity. It doesn't matter who it is sold to. If we sold the same oil to India, then China buys the oil India would have bought. It doesn't matter. That's what fungible means.
Oil is a global commodity. It doesn't matter who it is sold to.
If selling the oil to an adversary doesn't actually result in lower prices, then the act is pointless.
This is your post moron--
YOU included political, ideological and military along with economic.
damikesc included none.
Since it was YOU that included the phrase 'economic enemy', are you not highlighting your own ignorance?
I'm highlighting the ignorance of the Trumpistas who think selling oil to China matters.
I think the word you’re looking for is “lying”.
Sarc: stop calling me a leftist for constantly defending biden through deflection.
Also sarc: everyone here is a trumpist!!!!
The reserves shouldn't be sold at all. They are reseves
DoJ apparently released body cam footage on the raid of a Trump lawyer regarding J6. Why the raid was necessary was questionable. Releasing the footage to embarass him is even more questionable.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/footage-shows-law-enforcement-search-jeffrey-clark
If only Trump's people were allowed to not allow raids and were able to wipe clean and destroy equipment like Hillary did. there seems to be two levels of enforcement based on what party you belong to in this country
News reports state that 5 million barrels of oil from the US strategic reserve were sold oversees. 1 million of those barrels were apparent sold to a Chinese company Hunter Biden has ties to.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admin-sold-nearly-1-million-barrels-of-oil-to-chinese-state-owned-company-tied-to-hunter-biden
It is amazing to me that we have a POTUS (Biden) that has been bought, and paid for, by foreign powers through his drug-adilpated child (Hunter): Ukraine, China.
Tens of billions in aid to a thoroughly corrupt UKR, and now looking to roll back tariffs on Chinese products. This is a very sad development in our Republic.
Washington DC is completely disconnected from ordinary citizenry. This will not end well.
If terrorists were to kill every thing in DC only 30% of the people in the US would care
And all of them are professional bureaucrats or hardcore political evangelicals.
Maybe we could get them to gather in D.C. first.
Everyone should have stopped testing a long time ago.
Heresy!
That anyone gives a shit anymore is amazing to me. I haven't heard it talked about in person in quite some time.
No one cares anymore
And yet I keep running into people who wear masks all the time. Young and healthy people, often with small kids. Some folks are still making their kids wear masks everywhere.
And if you listen to DNC politicians and national press selling the latest round of vaccines for toddlers and babies, you would be justified in thinking that your kids might die at any moment.
Confession: I voluntarily wore a mask to my daughter's kindergarten graduation last month. But my younger daughter and wife both had COVID at the time, and I was already feeling it coming on.
Technically my older daughter was supposed to be kept out of school that whole week, but fuck that.
I saw some psycho parents at the park who were both masked and their 3 year old was too. They were also wiping down the slide and other areas before the girl went on them. Unfortunately for the child, she is going to be very fucked up from the level of paranoia and mental disease her parents have.
But that was months ago. Im in a little bit more of a liberal area, and even the crunchy granola people at the farmers market (with the green hair) stopped wearing masks. Its nice.
There's a high probability that parents like that would have fucked her up without COVID. It's just way more readily apparent who these people are when you can spot them from across the park.
^
Some people were broken by COVID, and will never really get over it. I am not sure if they are addicted to fear or to the feeling of comfort that comes from feeling like they have taken protective actions.
I took a trip on Amtrak from Providence to NYC. At least half of the people on the train were masked. All I could think was, "What's your plan? Wear those damned things forever?"
My kid is going to a summer camp, and came to me asking for a COVID test. I told her that the camp didn't require one, but she told me her coach posted to their team chat that she was negative and said "why don't we all share our test results here!"
This is why this shit happens. My kid has a good head, and doesn't see a need to take a test. But I can't blame her for not wanting to create a bunch of drama before going to a sport camp for a week. This was completely created by a school coach who is using these sorts of soft peer pressure to perpetuate a ritual. It's like a coach who says, "If you want to, why don't you post your prayer to the sky god in here!"
she told me her coach posted to their team chat that she was negative and said "why don't we all share our test results here!"
Sounds like what you actually need to do is put that coach on blast for normalizing their hypochondria to impressionable kids.
If my kid felt strongly about the issue, I might do something about it. But she (understandably) just wants to go to camp with her friends, without a bunch of drama. So she lied and said she tested negative. *shrug*
I don't see any benefit chastising the coach who she will have for the next 2 years, and likely alienating her from her friends unless that is a battle she feels strongly about.
Sure, but this is also a case where you have to nip bad behavior in the bud before it gets worse.
I disagree that this is one of those cases. This is a case where inserting drama into something that is completely within her purview is not necessary.
It is not my camp. It is hers. They are not my friends, they are hers. It is not my coach, it is hers. And just as at my liberal-enclave offices, I pick and choose my battles, I have no problem with her doing the same.
Yea, the don't-rock-the-boat approach never leads to worse imposition later on, and takes no spiritual toll whatsoever!
Seems like a no reply followed by a “none of your business” if coach was persistent would’ve been a more honest, but without looking for a fight, type of response.
It's still good to pick your battles.
So you teach her to lie to make others happy?
And you think that's gonna turn out good?
She is 16 years old and I am sure she already knows how to lie. And needs to decide which battles she wants to fight. She is under no obligation to fight my or your political battles, and as someone with many lefty friends, I can completely understand the desire to not create a big stink.
If your lefty friends don't understand that you disagree with them. If you have to hide what you are lest a 'big stink' be made, you HAVE no friends, you're a hanger-on pretending to be something you're not for false acceptance.
The leftists I allow in my presence accept or leave. I will not hide myself to assuage someone's idiot opinions.
Here is a word of advice from one dealing with not being nore adamant about this with my own children--this will blow up in your face.
The battle to not comply is one that must ALWAYS be fought. Because children, even teens, internalize compliance.
I get it. You don't want to make things tough for your daughter by making an issue of it. That's reasonable.
But on the other hand, people who use that kind of soft pressure know what they're doing, and they're relying on other people not wanting to make waves. I call them emotional terrorists. They prey on regular people's desire to just live their lives normally, they know you fear confrontation because of the reasons above, and they use that.
That's why they're so fucking evil. It's bad enough when they're preying on adults, but when adults are preying on kids' natural desire not to he singled out, it's doubleplus evil.
"That's why they're so fucking evil. It's bad enough when they're preying on adults, but when adults are preying on kids' natural desire not to he singled out, it's doubleplus evil."
I completely agree.
My reason to bring it up was not because I'm complaining. It was to show how these peer pressure tactics work. It was the same back in the day when coaches and students would look side-eyed at kids who didn't want to take a knee and pray before practice, and it is the same way today with covid pandemic theater.
Welcome to the matriarchy
You should have a very direct conversation with that coach.
"My boobs came in, why don't we all post pics of ours here!"
My ex and his family are Covidians. They wear masks all the time and have a stock of at-home tests. They're all vaxxed and multi-boosted. They're also democrats and a total fucking drag all the time.
My daughter just turned 18, though, so I pretty much never have to deal with them again if I don't want to.
See my comment about broken, compulsive safety freaks above. And yes, they correlation with progressive Democrats is 100%.
I have successfully lived without ever being tested.
#MeToo
Not everyone got tested by choice. It was (is?) a requirement for surgery. Though I imagine you're so principled that you would refuse life saving surgery and died rather than take a COVID test.
Ahh yes. I remember which groups here at reason advocated for restricting surgeries and medical care for those who wouldn't get vaccinated. Hint. The team you decided to join.
My principles are people are free to get tested. I'm against any requirement to force others to. You know. Actual principles instead of attacking those against mandatory compliance like you did.
I'm not on a team, dipshit. Never have been. And I never supported mandatory testing. Keep on lying though. It's what you do best.
Sure you aren't buddy. You sure don't team up daily with Mike and Jeff, defending them and joining them in exclusionary attacks on the right, often in threads with even mild criticism of the left.
Where did I say people couldn't voluntarily test if they chose to do so? Some of us were always about choice. Others here, like yourself, attacked those with that stance but not claim they always agreed with that stance. Even when things like Australian camps were brought up.
Keep thinking you dont have a team. Ot is part of your self delusion. Everyone on your team makes the same claim as they have a single directional list of talking points they use daily.
But keep lying to yourself. It is a trait you distribute often.
Criticism of your team does not equal allegiance to the other team.
Yet you accuse everyone else here of being on a team for criticizing democrats.
Do you understand your hypocrisy at all?
I criticize Democrats. jeff criticizes Democrats. Mike criticizes Democrats. Squirrely criticizes Democrats. With the exception of Tony and Joe who are actual leftists, pretty much everyone on this board criticizes Democrats.
When someone criticizes your team you explode and call them a leftist. When someone criticizes both teams you mock them with "Boff sidez" call them a leftist. It's only when people criticized Democrats and Democrats only that you relent in your incessant antagonism.
That is what makes you a team player.
No, no hypocrisy at all.
No you don't. You say you do but in every thread critical of the left you attack the right.
Again. Self delusion. I mean you're doing it im threads today for fucks sake.
You are lying to yourself like you likely do to everyone you've ever met.
Meh, I dunno about that. Jeff was wondering if his enemies here would’ve embraced a government disinformation board if only a R had been in charge.
Might as well ponder what to do with a bear in your trunk. Jeff’s a lefty doosh.
It was (is?) a requirement for surgery
Still is, which is ridiculous. At this point we have ~200 "COVID hospitalizations" in the network where I work, but over 70% are asymptomatic, and ~40% of the rest are there for non-COVID reasons. So... yeah.
The moving of the goalposts, and the way people seemingly didn't notice, was pretty amazing. First it was deaths, and when there weren't enough deaths to be scary it was people on ventilators, and when that wasn't scary it was hospitalizations, and when that wasn't scary it became cases. The way the general public ate it up is disturbing to me.
And despite all the stats juking its CFR is now down to levels comparable to the seasonal flu. Madness that anyone still cares - at this point C19 is probably the most well-understood virus in history.
As have I.
I have elderly clients, when I had a cold I test myself not for myself but for them. BTW i realized those elderly clients are only 10 years older than myself so i no longer call them elderly.
nothing wrong with self testing its the un needed required testing they are forcing on people. we may want to blame when companies and government started testing for drug usage. we are now used to it and that is a shame
I dont care if people test voluntarily. Daughter had to do it for a recital. I thought it was stupid, but she agreed.
What I do think is stupid is the younger generation at work freaking out and testing weekly and then when they are forced to burn their PTO due to their testing they complain about it and come back saying they had no symptoms.
The fact is testing without reason has been the impetus to keep the covid scare above for theist year. They moved from deaths, to hospitalizations, to positive tests to retain control. It is a means of garnering the power they sought. This despite in the first few months the CDC admitted asymptomatic spread was near zero.
So broadband testing serves only one purpose, for control by government. If you want to test for a purpose. Have at it.
Right. Testing needs to be seen as the sort of precaution you take in very risky situations, like when you are going to a place with many high risk people.
Testing in order to protect from general population transmission does absolutely nothing. Testing to decide you don't need to go to work is pointless. The vast proportion of people who catch covid will have no problems.
A small portion of our population is at risk for reasons that are very well known at this point. I recommend these people vax and booster up, and that they avoid areas likely to have lots of general transmission (concerts, clubs, theme parks, etc). In cases where the at-risk and general population are forced to comingle (such as hospitals), it probably makes sense to require testing.
But the religious rituals are nuts here.
I’ve tested myself once. Was having some sinus issues, but I was going to a funeral that had several elderly and immunocompromised people there, so I wanted to make sure.
And that's probably a decent reason. Regular tests of people who aren't sick are generally pretty stupid though.
How do you know you are alive? Are you a biologist?

Very angry Dutch farmers block border between Holland and Germany. Harsh protests in many Dutch cities after politicians' decision to closes dozens of farms and cattle ranches to reduce nitrogen by 30% - 70% to comply with EU regulations on nitrogen pollution.
Wow.
This should be a bigger story, not just for the food production angle.
I suspect the level of coverage is informed by lessons learned from the Canadian trucker protest.
Like the Abe assassination?
man its going to be sad watching the EU wither away at the hands of the climate nazis.
Green policies will soon be causing people to freeze and starve, and its all self induced
Honestly, if these fucking bureaucrats end up destroying their precious creation through their own dumb climate religion, so much the better.
Europe took the wrong lessons from the fall of the Iron Curtain and let the worshippers of world government and the "open society" (which really means communism) have too much free rein in forming continental policies in their countries.
If the open society means communism, somebody's severely misread Karl Popper!
How do fixed nitrogen emissions affect climate? AFAICT they're just nutrients for algae, which fix carbon from the air.
If the open society means communism, somebody's severely misread Karl Popper!
When these people say "democracy," they really mean marxism (they don't accept popular losses as legitimate, for instance), so it's not a surprise that they twist the meanings of other words as well.
Nitrogen runoff *is* an environmental concern that is easily measurable, unlike a lot of climate nuttery.
When you over-feed nitrogen eaters, they deplete the oxygen in the water they inhabit, leading to hypoxic or "Dead Zones" where other life cannot survive.
These things can be solved for without the ban-hammer of course, and the existence of a hypoxic zone isn't the end of the world. Those zones only grow as large as there is enough nitrogen to sustain it. If you carefully manage discharge, you manage the size.
Holodomore will look nice in comparison
Once again, for everyone's enjoyment
https://twitter.com/Ukraine66251776/status/1544915098774503425?t=LIzwnb3YoN7tQzuugd_2lA&s=19
[Videos from Netherlands of tractors defeating police vehicles]
Huh. Consider that their nitrogen flows away from the rest of the EU and into the North Sea. Has there been overgrowth of algae in the North Sea?
Yes, and they track them by satellite.
https://www.esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/Images/2018/09/North_Sea_bloom
Which results in greater algae production which results in more more of the animals that eat the algae algae which eventually dies and drifts to the sea floor and becomes sequestered from the carbon cycle.
But if it grows too large, the hypoxic zone does affect fisheries, reefs, and other parts of the ocean eco system. Again, ban hammer is not appropriate here, but people should acknowledge the impact and downsides of nitrogen runoff. It is a legitimate problem.
For example, the toxic algae behind Red Tide is exacerbated by nitrogen runoff. During major red tide blooms, entire shellfish fisheries are rendered inedible, causing massive loss of funds.
Again, I am not saying this necessitates a total ban, but these are commons, and some mechanism of managing the commons will be required.
In water reservoirs for human consumption it also causes blooms leading to horrible tasting water.
Restore the wetlands to filter out the excess nutrients. Of course people will complain about that too.
Well the problem is that the wetlands only do so much, and anyways most of the former wetlands are now cities. The real estate owners aren't going to give up their million dollar properties in Amsterdam so that farmers can farm.
The reason this is a problem today is that, while land is owned privately, the oceans where this shit is dumped are commons.
Tucker finally covered it but no other American media is. I wonder why?
nitrogen pollution
I thought nitrogen was inert.
And it's 70% of the atmosphere. I'm pretty sure they are talking about nitrogen oxides, not elemental nitrogen.
They mean nitrogen fertilizer in various forms including animal waste. Excessive levels do cause algae blooms in water sources and other problems. There are ways to mitigate the problems.
Time for Hoexit?
Who’s Hoexit? Wait, wasn’t he that psycho commie who destroyed Albania?
She's a second-generation immigrant...
Can someone explain to me what the hell a "second-generation immigrant" is? What, did her parents immigrate to somewhere other than Britain and then she immigrated there? Or do you mean she's the British-born child of immigrants. Because the term for that is....British.
I am a 3rd, 6th 9th and 14th generation immigrant! Maybe more... there are holes at Ancestry.com
Oh, and then there are the ancestors who immigrated across the Bering land bridge some 12,000 years ago. I don't have any documentation for those generations. Let's put "more than 10".
I think that was just migration. No borders to cross.
Yeah, what a bizarre thing to say. Her parents were immigrants.
That's been a common term for quite a while--it just means someone who was born to immigrants. I never liked it because being born here doesn't make you an immigrant, but it's mainly a rhetorical tool that marxists in academia and the media have used to encourage alienation and hatred towards the US so they don't make an effort to assimilate in to the evil "capitalist, racist" nation, and try to tear it down to create the marxist utopia.
I think every non immigrant needs to start referring to themselves as indigenous.
If you were born in the US, you're fucking indigenous to the US.
I mean Warren did it with 1/10000 part Cherokee, why cant anyone play that card?
So it's basically a reversal of calling someone a first-generation American?
funny thing on the local liberal radio, they had a female singer on from San Francisco
Host: what is like being an first generation ABC
Singer: whats an ABC
Host: an American Born Chinese (ABC) of imigrants
Singer: Oh never heard of that
Host: whats your opinion on how Americans have treated the Chinese
Singer: Its better than living in China
they went on to other subjects after the host futile attempt to get some woke comments out of the singer
Note many people think the Chinese were treated poorly in California but they chose to come here and work and yes there was racism but heck who hasn't experienced that
Back in the 90s I had a college professor that loved to call himself a CBA(Chinese-Born American) and his kids ABCs(American-Born Chinese). He spoke highly of the US and all it had to offer.
I also like the one Indians use, ABCD—American Birn Confused Desi.
I do like it , because it helps me differentiate between the 1st generation who love America and come here for economic reasons and their idiot children who have no work ethic and have been completely brainwashed into American leftism. Also 2nd gen tend to be pretty chauvinistic if not outright racist, whereas their parents stick to their own kind for more pragmatic reasons.
By third gen, it's easy to spot the American.
Can someone explain to me what the hell a "second-generation immigrant" is? What, did her parents immigrate to somewhere other than Britain and then she immigrated there? Or do you mean she's the British-born child of immigrants. Because the term for that is....British.
Not in the UK....or the EU....or pretty much anyplace that's not the US.
Everywhere else, if you didn't evolve there, you're an immigrant.
Scientists may have finally figured out why T. rex had those famously short arms.
From the link:
"I'm convinced that those proportionally tiny arms had some sort of function."
Jesus fucking Christ, what high school science student did they find to interview for this shit?
FOLLOW THE SCIENCE!!
"They may have used the arms for reproductive behaviour such as holding the female during mating or support themselves to stand back up after a break or a fall," he added.
Fucking Brilliant! We finally came up with the answer that T-Rex may have needed arms to push itself up off of the ground after a hundred years' advancement in paleontology.
I have to ask, was this guy a diversity hire?
His co-author Peter Makovicky said the dinosaur's arms were "literally half the length of the skull and the animal would not have been able to reach its mouth".
This article is short, but it's gold. It literally reads like two high-schoolers who just discovered their interest in dinosaurs sharing the most basic, entry-level information and then speculating on shit. Boehm, did you share this as parody? These guys are not scientists, I refuse to believe it.
"the animal would not have been able to reach its mouth"."

where did they find these retards?
Not to mention masturbation.
I also like the one Indians use, ABCD—American Birn Confused Desi.
I stopped following The Science once I realized what kind of bars it was hanging out in!
Yeah, that article describes a new species. It doesn't have any functional data or analysis.
I suppose it's interesting that the arms were likely "strong" but presumably they already knew that from T Rex.
Proportionally tiny arms... does T. Rex even lift, bruh?
They *only* do leg days
Wapo finds out that the sham J6 committee is having the opposite effect democrats hoped the highly political committee would have.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/07/07/many-republicans-no-longer-call-jan-6-an-insurrection-or-even-riot/
The poll asked people in June 2021 and June 2022 whether each of those labels were appropriate descriptors for what transpired on Jan. 6, 2021. And the GOP shifts are pretty uniform:
While 33 percent of Republicans said in June 2021 that Jan. 6 was an insurrection, that number is now just 13 percent.
While 62 percent of Republicans called it a “riot” back then, that’s down to 45 percent.
While 47 percent said it was a “legitimate protest,” that’s now up to 61 percent.
So whereas more Republicans once said it was a “riot” than a “legitimate protest,” by a 15-point margin, that has been flipped, with Republicans favoring the “legitimate protest” label by 16 points. A majority of Republicans no longer even regard Jan. 6 as a “riot.”
This is what happens when you make things political shit shows. The tribes support one another.
Once it was clear that everything to come out of the Jan 6 committee was Democrat talking points, it didn't matter what was factually true- Republicans weren't going to accept it.
And this is exactly what people like Pelosi want.
* And mind you, I am not implying that any of the Jan 6 stuff was true or false. I'm sure there were some real facts, and some false facts, and many omissions. I'm just pointing out that when you package it in a bunch of politicized bullshit, no one is going to believe you- they are going to actively disbelieve you.
The goal of partisanship is, well, partisanship, i.e. active opposition between at least two groups. Now, some manipulating people might have other goals, and use partisanship to achieve them. But the people in the game seldom see anything beyond us vs. them.
It will be interesting to see what the motivation is behind Abe's assassination, whenever more information comes out.
More important thing to find out is to figure out how wide spread white supremacy is in Japan that led to this shooting.
Just as an aside, we should point out that Japan is far more racist than the US is, despite all the cries about white supremacy in our country. They have very difficult cultural norms and 97% of the population are native Japanese, so those cultural norms are upheld.
Literally everywhere is more racist than the US.
East Asians are particularly racist though.
Indeed, a legacy of our diversity, and something we should rightly be proud of.
Diversity like this, Joe?
https://reason.com/2022/07/08/boris-johnson-is-out-as-britains-prime-minister-who-will-replace-him/?comments=true#comment-9588460
Caucasians in the US are the least racist group in the country. Minorities are WAY more racist than whites.
Exactly, we wring our hands with guilt, worrying we’re not being inclusive enough, while other countries just embrace national pride and don’t give two fucks what anyone else thinks.
You mean the SJWs have been lying to us?
More important thing to find out is to figure out how wide spread white supremacy is in Japan…”
Do you know how many blacks and Latinx there are in the Japanese government? ZERO!! Need I say more????
The Twitter reactions are interesting. The commies have never forgiven Japan for failing to become a Communist stronghold like Vietnam, North Korea and China. And they are out in force condemning Abe for failing to be a sociopathic left wing murderbot like their other asian heroes.
in the British system, the attorney general is a member of Parliament; yeah, it's weird
In the American system, much "legislation" is done by unelected bureaucrats; yeah, it's weird.

There will be no recession. Just like there's no inflation. The Biden economy is the best ever and if you're not enjoying it you just don't have the liberal capitalist skills of people like me and Warren Buffett.

By the way Peanuts, Warren Buffett made $1.23 billion yesterday. And since I support the same political party he does, it's only fair for me to gloat about his success like it's my own.

"Boris Johnson Is Out as Britain's Prime Minister. Who Will Replace Him?"
Volodymyr Zelensky!
Obama is half British, no? Kenyans were UK citizens between 1949 an 1963, Maybe he can run. Though he may be holding out for that Queen job.
I thought Adam Lambert was leading that now.
It’s time for British voters to return the Silly Party to power
"his signature policy accomplishment (Brexit), which seemed to take forever to actually get finalized,"
Many people look at the failures of May, and the slowness of Johnson, and don't understand the fuckery being performed daily by the EU. The Elite in Brussels see losing the UK as a massive loss of face, and they have fought it each step of the way, making every single effort about 100x harder than it needs to be.
For example, my company has been flatly told that the EU regulators will not accept us processing certain data in the UK, leading us to cancel plans for a data center there. Mind you, we are free to process data in datacenters in unaligned eastern european countries, or even in the united states. But if we move it to the UK, we have been saddled with literal years of regulatory red tape to go through.
The EU didn't have to do this. They are doing it to make it painful and slow to do business with the UK. There was a lot of hooplah about the border between the UK and Ireland. Now imagine tens of thousands of those little negotiations because EU law permeates literally every part of the economy. This is why something that sounds straight forward turns to be years long efforts- where an EU functionary looks at a single import and then requires four new forms to be filed- just because they are assholes.
Borris and even May did what they could. Like Trump, they tried to take on something extremely hard- tackling an entrenched bureaucracy that didn't want to be shaken up. There was some success, but the cost was extreme.
This is why something that sounds straight forward turns to be years long efforts- where an EU functionary looks at a single import and then requires four new forms to be filed- just because they are assholes.
Which only further shows why the UK was justified in getting the fuck out. It's not what voters were told the EU was going to be when they were convincing people to join.
Bojo and May were hobbled by the fact that euroscepticism is trans-partisan. But only Boris had the stones to actually get the government to do it.

Most progressive thing since White's Only drinking fountains.
The 150 year fight for segragation from the left continues.
They did say "Segregation forever!"
When the ultra wokes at evergreen college took over the place and started holding faculty hostage, one of the first things they instituted in their little 'lord of the flies' world was telling
They asked whites to not take seats, and to eat after people of color did. And all the victim hierarchy stuff applied (trannies and gender weirdos got higher status).
The racists have always been on the left. They put segregation into place on day 1. And it should be no surprise.

Kendi: "The answer to correct past discrimination, is future discrimination" - directly from 'How to be an Anti-Racist'
And this is why taking anything the left says at face value is a pointless exercise. You don't treat these people like human beings, you treat them as a hostile entity, which is what they are.
Literally cancer.
Fuck Kendi.
Would recommend the evergreen documentary on youtube by Benjamin Boyce to anyone that has some time to waste. The production isnt super high level, but he was apparently at Evergreen at the time of this little "inmates running the asylum" episode and has a lot of film of the events.
These kids instantly, very aggressively institute segregation and a "more equal animals" policy. They also form little compliance mobs and walk around campus with baseball bats. Kids that put up posters or signs that were considered not acceptable by the mob would be intimated and assaulted. It is kind of scary to see the amount of hate that comes out when they are allowed to proceed with their ideology completely unchecked and unfiltered. So much of the terrible behavior humans have committed in fevered groups start to make more sense.
Its all an ideology about taking and exerting power on others.
Kendi: "The answer to correct past discrimination, is future discrimination" - directly from 'How to be an Anti-Racist'
You know who else took an extended ideological rant and turned it into a crappy-ass book??
Re: Abe assassination
Does anyone seriously think China is not involved in this, somewhere?
"Re: Abe assassination"
I thought that John Wilkes Booth guy did it in a theater
Oh, so we have a suspect? We really should check his alibi.
Shinzo, not Abraham. 😛
(I know, you're just bustin')
I seriously think that China is not involved in this, somehow.
Syd, maybe you should think about the geopolitical implications here. Japan is a Quad member, and an assertive one. There is a long history of unfinished business between China and Japan. Political assassinations don't just 'happen' in Japan, a notoriously insular society. This was be a marked departure from 'grey zone' activities.
At this stage, Japan should be giving this guy a very hard look (I am sure they are). I cannot help but think the mark of the ham-hands of China will eventually be found. We cannot ever trust China. No one in the region trusts China. They are not quite an enemy to the US, but they are quickly headed in that direction.
China... or the globalists.
Both are enemies. The latter are a greater threat.
China is gearing up for a move on Taiwan, Nardz. It is coming.
And Taiwan actually is a vital US national interest, because of the semi-conductors.
Political assassinations don't just 'happen' in Japan
They do
"Political assassinations don't just 'happen' in Japan, a notoriously insular society."
Crazy fuckers go crazy in every society. Japan included. They have a long and proud history of Japanese men going off on some sort of honor killing in vengeance for some slight or another, imagined or real.
its not uncommon for ritual sword killing in Japan, I guess a gun is easier to hide
The Japanese imperial government was well know for political assassination. Just sayn, there is a long history of them in Japan.
And in probably every culture around the world.
Part of me thinks that uber-elites killing each other is pretty cool. Like the Clintons.
I read a little bit of a story about this on the Daily Mail and apparently the shooter had a homemade "arsenal" of homemade guns and explosives. As in this had been this guy's hobby for a long time. Looks like a lone wolf to me.
We demand common-sense hobby control!
That would be a dumb move on their part. From what I understand, Kishida is a dove compared to the last couple of Japanese PMs, and the fastest way to replace him with another hawk would be for China to involve itself in an assassination in Japan. So probably not China, unless that's their intention.
I'm sure they produced some of the components used to make the gun
why would any chinese government elements be interested in assassinating Abe, the retired PM with no power?
In the LDP Japanese PMs retire to gain power. Together with other former PMs they become éminence grise, pulling the next PMs strings from the shadows.
Are they working with the Illuminati?

Literally none of that is true, save for the "conservative" bit.
If you are a journalist who knows zero history, except what you read over the last few hours on twitter where the literal communists have been slandering him, it all COULD be true.
In Japan, Zero history is just the plane truth.
These people hated him because he didn't want to turn Japan into some internationalist utopia.
So are NPR and CBS trying to say he deserved it because he was an "Ultra" Just like Biden's "Ultra Maga" if we put Ultra in front of things now its okay to go after them. why else point out his political beliefs
Shouldn’t they be using Uber instead of Ultra? After all….you know who else used Uber?
Reminder. These are the same journalists who described Al Baghdadi as an austere religious scholar.
Abe was a bog standard LDP boss.
Funny how anyone that kicks back against Davos and asserts a country's national independence is some sort of far-right nut.
Note that they called him "divisive" even though he was one of Japan's most popular PMs.

In Britain the party controls the PM, not the PM the party. Nearly the opposite of the US. A head of a party is selected by the party, not by random voters who've never paid party dues in their lives. So the head of the party is beholden to the party, and not the other way around. None of this US shit where parties scramble about trying to align and get behind a candidate.
There are downsides to this of course, but also downsides to the US system. Which is better? I still sort of like the parliamentary system where the power trickles up from the local MPs, instead of having one guy in charge of the whole fucking universe. No need to be afraid of an Obama or Trump or Biden if they're not potentates. People don't vote for the prime minister, they vote for their local MP. And British constituencies are much much smaller than US congressional districts. So you might actually know the guy you're voting for.
"where the power trickles up from the local MPs"
As Canadian also living under the Westminster system the naivete here made me chuckle.
Party leaders are elected by the membership (not just MPs) from a curated selection picked by party bosses. Teachers and civil service unions notoriously buy up memberships and have their people vote en masse for a favored candidate.
In some aspects I prefer the Westminster system to the American one but not when it comes to picking a leader.
In a parliamentary system, because the administration (executive. cabinet, ministers) is selected from among the legislators (who then hold dual posts), the party leaders have great leverage over the legislators. However, in at least the states whose legislatures I'm familiar with — NY & NJ — the party leaders exert comparable leverage over the legislators even without that particular carrot to wield; they have others. As a result, trying to get anything done is far more a matter of buttonholing party leadership than of lobbying one's own elected legislator. What good to persuade your own rep to vote a certain way if it's on a matter the party takes issue with, which is most issues?
NY Times: Be Afraid Of ‘Far-Right Latinas’ Like Republican Mayra Flores
Has the NYTs ever described AOC as far left?
Perhaps it's because Mayra Flores flipped a seat that hasn't gone GOP in over a century.
In an interview in her still-barren office the day after her swearing-in ceremony, Ms. Flores was asked whether she considered Mr. Biden the legitimately elected president.
“He’s the worst president of the United States,” she said.
When asked three more times whether Mr. Biden had been legitimately elected, she repeated the same nonanswer.
What a monster.
Insulting the Dear Leader? If only we had a proper totalitarian progressive society, we could deal directly with seditious threats like Flores.
you can tell Flores is over the target by the MSM's reaction to her.
They even kicked her out of the latinx movement.
NYT racist much?
Most of the time yes.
Next up from the NY Times:
"Beware of Blacks off the Plantation"
"Blacks who believe they are 'thinking for themselves' are just expressing white supremacy"
Shorter NYT: "If you don't want to tear down the United States from within, you're not an actual person."
Fuck the Times.
President Joe Biden will sign an executive order Friday directing the Department of Health and Human Services to take several steps intended to protect access to abortions and contraception.
One of the things this is going to do is "increase access to contraception"
The abortion people are an absolute joke. Brandon, you could have done that with or without Roe. It's all a bunch of nonsense isn't it.
I just want to know which law grants him power or funding to use taxpayer funds on abortion related materials.
ACS included the Hyde amendment which restricts federal funds for abortions, relying on states to fund those portions if they chose.
The ACA reinforces the current Hyde Amendment restrictions, continuing to limit federal funds to pay for pregnancy terminations that endanger the life of the woman or that are a result of rape or incest (Table 1).
https://www.kff.org/womens-health-policy/issue-brief/coverage-for-abortion-services-and-the-aca/
So where is Bidens authority to do this coming from?
When has that stopped them before?
Recent USSC rulings have.
SCOTUS couldn't stop them from trying.
That is a true point. One that Biden and Obama often openly stated. They knew it would take months to years to get through the courts so openly violated their powers.
Have they?
See NY's New gun laws, gas prices, and the 2020 election of course
It's right there in the FYTW clause in bold 2 point font, you can't miss it
American basketball star Brittney Griner pleaded guilty to drug charges in Russia, further complicating the diplomatic situation created by her arrest in February.
Don't go to foreign countries and break their laws and expect you'll be treated like the entitled american (minor) celebrity that you are. It doesn't work that way.
So. Fucking. Entitled.
At least Russia will get the Merchant of Death released when Biden folds.

Awesome. Either way he loses. He trades the Merchant of Death for a petty drug infraction, or he leaves a black lesbian to rot in Russian prison.
Brandon's doing great.
Nobody, but NOBODY is going to run on droolin' Joe's record. Probably the greatest achievement of his presidency so far is not crapping himself in public.
It's really stunning just how terrible the Brandon administration is. I expected bad, but this is really something.
It is the return to normal people clamored for.
not crapping himself in public
Rome visit last year.
Maybe they can trade Soros.
Ya its definitely in the "play stupid games" category.
I dont want anyone locked up unfairly for non-violent silly crimes. But if you are in a hostile country, and knowingly breaking their laws...you are playing with fire.
They let her get away with it before because of her connection to the Russian oligarch that was paying her to play on his team. The problem was that she assumed she could continue to get away with it after the left and the neocons decided we were at literal war with Russia.

Hopefully she fares better than that guy that went to jail in North Korea for stealing a poster.
A word to the wise - there might be a very few here:
From today's WaPo
"The pandemic is a relentless race against Mother Nature. Waves of infection took millions of lives, and only highly effective vaccines prevented even more deaths. Now, the coronavirus is speeding up once again, mutating, evading immunity and still on the march. The arrival of subvariant BA.5 should be a reminder that the finish line in this race is nowhere to be seen.
Sign up for a weekly roundup of thought-provoking ideas and debates
What’s BA.5? This is the latest subvariant of omicron, which stormed the planet late last year and caused a huge wave of infection. As of now, BA.5 and a closely related variant, BA.4, account for about 70 percent of all infections in the United States, according to estimates by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based in part on modeling. These two newcomers are easing out an earlier variant, BA.2.
The obscure names should not hide the punch of BA.5. Eric Topol, professor of molecular medicine at Scripps Research, says that BA.5 “is the worst version of the virus that we’ve seen.” He adds, “It takes immune escape, already extensive, to the next level, and, as a function of that, enhanced transmissibility,” well beyond earlier versions of omicron. There has not been a marked increase in hospitalizations and deaths, he reports, because there is so much immunity built up from the winter omicron wave. But there are aspects of this new variant very much worth keeping an eye on as the United States remains stuck at an uncomfortably high plateau of pandemic misery. And the new variants are driving a case surge in Europe.
At the core of the BA.5 difference is its biology. Evolution has given it more fitness, a term that incorporates its ability to transmit, grow and evade immunity; the variant shows “marked difference from all prior variants,” reports Dr. Topol. One way it does so is by evading the body’s immune system, and BA.4 and BA.5 together are “the most immune-evasive variants” seen in multiple studies to date.
Whether BA.5 will lead to more severe disease isn’t clear yet. But knowing that the virus is spreading should reinforce the need for the familiar mitigation measures: high-quality face masks, better air filtration and ventilation, and avoiding exposure in crowded indoor spaces.
An important question is whether the next boosters should include the new variants. Does a booster with an earlier version of the virus make any sense if that variant has disappeared from the population? The Food and Drug Administration has recommended manufacturers build a bivalent or two-component vaccine, with old and new variants as the target. It certainly makes sense to be flexible — as Wayne Gretzky put it, to skate where the puck is going, not where it has been. But time is short, and who knows what variants will be present later this year? In the longer term, variant chasing is hardly ideal. The greatest need is for next-generation vaccines that are more broadly protective, more durable (with longer-lasting immunity) and that can dampen transmission. There is a major research effort underway to achieve this, but the finish line is not yet in sight.

You're incapable of anything but insults soldier, and not very clever ones at that.
Joe Asshole slinging more bullshit.
Eat shit and die, Asshole.
I have to ask, again, is this parody? Are you a parody?
Eric Topol, professor of molecular medicine at Scripps Research, says that BA.5 “is the worst version of the virus that we’ve seen.” He adds, “It takes immune escape, already extensive, to the next level, and, as a function of that, enhanced transmissibility,” well beyond earlier versions of omicron. There has not been a marked increase in hospitalizations and deaths, he reports, because there is so much immunity built up from the winter omicron wave.
It's the worst version of the virus we've seen because the vaccines are very ineffective against it. However, deaths and hospitalizations aren't up because of natural immunity.
It almost sounds like we shouldn't get vaccinated anymore and just let the virus run its course based on that little bit of information. And it even sounds like it might be preferable to just catch this virus and train your immune system, instead of being a germophobe and masking up.
FBI plant phishing for death threats. Do not engage.
I say again, DO NOT ENGAGE!
Doofus, BA5 escapes "natural immunity" also. That's it's trick. Yes, current vaccines are not effective at stopping the spread of this variant, though they still keep those who catch it from dying, like your like minded anti-vaxxer did in droves with the Delta variant.
Vaccines have to try and stay up variants, but getting mad about that is like getting mad at our not having a time machine yet. We live in a real world with real world threats, and good as medicine and science are, they aren't perfect, like you are, you spoiled motherfucker.
There has not been a marked increase in hospitalizations and deaths, he reports, because there is so much immunity built up from the winter omicron wave
Jesse:
"The two newest subvariants of the COVID-19 virus are shown to evade natural immunity, which means if you’ve had a COVID-19 infection previously, it won’t make much of a difference in terms of how sick you’ll get if reinfected. However, being vaccinated and boosted will help protect you from serious illness.
“What’s published suggests that if you’ve had prior infection with BA.1 then your antibodies aren’t as effective against BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants, so you are more likely to be reinfected if you’ve just had omicron BA.1,” explains Daniel Gregson, a Calgary-based physician who specializes in infectious diseases and medical microbiology.
The data on people who’ve been immunized suggests that if you've had omicron then your antibody levels remain more active against the BA.4 and BA.5 than if you’ve just had prior infection.
Gregson says this is something researchers have noticed before with other variants.
“In the alpha wave, we noticed immunization was more protective against re-infection than prior infection,” he says. “With omicron, the BA.1 variant, that third dose of vaccine gives you the most protection. And you’ll probably see the same thing with BA.4 and BA.5. If you’ve had three doses you’re still going to have moderate protection from hospitalization but you’re probably at risk of having a cold.”

Joe Asshole just can't keep from lying. Dishonest, stupid and smug; Joe Asshole.
Eat shit and die, Asshole.
Joe Friday....The question is, even with this new variant, why aren't deaths up? Maybe you could try answering the direct question.
JesseAZ contends we may already have herd immunity to these milder China virus variants that 'evade' (this is laughable, btw) our immune systems.
Commenter, my understanding is that the Omicron variants have all not been as deadly as the Delta variant which raged last summer and much of the fall. They were reported to be less lethal when they first came on the scene, but more contagious than Delta, and each variant since has been even more contagious, but no apparent increase in lethality. However, it is still open how much if any they might induce "long covid".
Some viruses evolve quickly and that is a survival mechanism to overcome our immune systems.
Your understanding of most things is usually wrong.
The reason natural immunity is better is because the mRNA vaccines were conditioned to go after the spike protein, not the entire virus. Natural immunity goes after the entire virus. So any small mutation in the slike protein evades any mRNA response. While natural immunity still goes after the body of the virus.
This is why even the CDC has finally begrudgingly admitted to natural immunity as more comprehensive.
Jesse, post your sources. I have posted numerous sources and i can think of 3 at least that all said natural immunity is ineffective specifically against Omicron 5 and even earlier was not as effective as vaccines against Delta and early Omicron.
More bullshit from Joe Asshole.
Fall off a cliff and die, Asshole.
Soldier, do us all a favor and buy a thesaurus, OK?

“It almost sounds like we shouldn’t get vaccinated anymore and just let the virus run its course….”
Yeah, that was my take, too. Are joe and the wapo (band name?) finally getting wise, or just sloppy?
Haha. No, I’m kidding, I know the answer…..
better just hide in the basement for the rest of your life then
Your choice wood. I'll keep getting vaccines as they are approved and mask up in tight quarters. It's called dealing with reality.
Gunning for the rare rebound infection where the 2nd is worse like Fauci? Good for you.
Haven't had it Jesse and I've continued to work and run a business throughout.
Knock on wood.
Gee, Asshole's a builder, then a MD, then a cowpuncher and now a business man.
If Joe Asshole were honest, Joe Asshole would admit to being a lying pile of lefty shit.
A builder is a business man you simpleton. Never said I was a an MD. Wasn't a cowboy either, or what I would call one. I did run a 130 acre, 30 head cow-calf operation by myself and did whatever that took, but never rode a horse.
Joe Asshole is such a pathologically stupid lying pile of left shit, he forgets the lies she told just a week of so ago.
That's the reason you do not engage Joe Asshole; all you get is lies in return.
You live in you're mom's basement and post on the internet for a living. You obviously run nothing let alone a construction outfit.
Next time you create a backstory, pick a livelihood that you actually are familiar with.
Ah, here's Mother who thinks she wins arguments by claiming to know things she can't possibly know. She's tried everything else and still got her ass kicked, so understandable.
It's a pretty reasonable assumption given that you obviously know nothing about construction and related fields.
Also, does your boss know that you're 'misgendering' me? Isn't that a hate crime amongst your lot?
Mother, why do you think I know nothing about construction? This out to be good.
I don't care what gender you are. You're the one with the ambiguous signals.
Sad, not good.
Because you don't know a backhoe from a hammer drill, and couldn't calculate the square footage of a set of stairs if a professional mathematician held your hand while doing so.
It's beyond obvious when you use words like "breeders" that you're a tubby little blue-haired activist who posts DNC talking points all day.
Nice try jerk off. The sf of a set of stairs is a useless figure no one needs or calcs. The rise and run and nosings, yeah, number of treads yeah. When calculating sf of floor areas, a flight counts 1/2 on each.
Ooh, backhoes and hammer drills. Wow you must be in the trades to know those. What's the difference between a rail and stile and what's an astrigal? Ever ride a j-plate or install top hat? What's an arris?
Up your, lying pile of shit.
ill sit next to you on the bus/plane, man-spreading, with no mask and you can deal with it and be happy, or get your teeth knocked out. Or stay home. Your choice. I wont be uppending my life for your neuroses.
Who's gonna' knock my teeth out jerk off, your wife?
PS A million dead an 300k unnecessary unvaxxed idiots who thought like you. That's not a neuroses, it's a pandemic.
Sadly for you, im pretty sure she could wreck a little masked soi-boy. So if you mouthed off enough, then yes.
Sure Red. You first.
Jimbo, you know nothing about me, or me you, beyond your opinions and I have no need to prove who I am to a bunch of anonymous posters on an opinion board, unless I can relate a experience relevant to discussion. You seem to have a need to show us how tough you are by making idle threats you'll never have to back up.
Then why do you always try to bolster your arguments based on who you are? If your arguments were strong in any manner you being a builder wouldn't matter.
Jesse,
"I have no need to prove who I am to a bunch of anonymous posters on an opinion board, unless I can relate a experience relevant to discussion."
I would expect anyone with real life experience relevant to discussion to bring it up.
I know everything about you and your type.
The people that post covid panic are universally pussy soi-boys. There is not a single shred of doubt that you are absolutely a little bitch
Jimbo you stupid fuck, you know nothing about me I haven't revealed here and I am spreading covid information -not panic - for those wise enough to use it. Obviously that's not you. If another more lethal variant shows up like Delta and you're angling for croaking in the hospital like some other tough guys - some of them media figures - did last summer. Many of them were sniveling and crying when they went, as were their wives and kids. 300k unnecessary deaths and you think you can beat it because you're tough? Won't be the 1st one.
pussy says what?
Middle school now. Your improving Jimbo.
Many of them were sniveling and crying when they went, as were their wives and kids. 300k unnecessary deaths and you think you can beat it because you're tough?
As long as they don't go to the hospital so the doctors can't goose the stats by shoving a vent down their throat and causing sepsis, they'll be fine.
"and you think you can beat it because you're tough?"
I think I can beat it because the first time I had it I didn't miss a single day working out and had some sniffles, and now I have natural immunity from it.
AKA, im not a pussy, like you are
Jimbo, you don't have natural immunity from Omicron 5 which is the variant currently causing about 70% of US cases. A word to the wise.
If you are a decent human being, and nothing you have said indicates you are, you should quarantine for whatever the recommended time is for the variant you have before mingling with other humans. It sounds like you didn't do that last time and who knows how many others you infected and how they handled that.
Who's gonna' knock my teeth out jerk off, your wife?
Unmask your email and you can find out.
More lies from the panic-stricken Joe Asshole.
the vaccines that dont prevent infection? The variant you are hyperventilating about is circumventing the vaccines no?
Nothing you say makes sense.
It doesn't even pass the smell test. Yeah, this vaccine that targets one protein that has mutated drastically in the current variants is totally better than exposure to the whole virus. And continuing to push extremely leaky vaccines on people is totally going to beat the virus and not just keep creating new variants that evade every new vaccine.
Read the article and the other I answered Jesse with. The latest variant is circumventing immunity from the vaccines and natural immunity, but the vaccines are still effective in limiting the symptoms and duration compared with no vaccines. That has been true since the 1st Omicron variants.
Or you can not do any of those things and get on with your life. It's been working for me and millions of other people for over 2 years now.
Yeah, and 300k died for no reason or ended up in ICUs because they didn't get vaccinated.
Well, that's a debatable counterfactual, but whatever it is, people made their choices and the consequences are what they are.
Whether BA.5 will lead to more severe disease isn’t clear yet.
In a forerunner state, I can tell you it's perfectly clear: it doesn't. Asymptomatic rates of hospitalization are booming in BA.5's wake. Staying afraid is just dumb.
It's over. Move on.
If you tie a plastic bag around your head, you'll protect yourself from whatever COVID variant is making your shit your pants like Biden this week.
Everyone's going to get it. Almost everyone will be fine. Get over it. You can see the damage that has already been done. It needs to stop now. This virus will never be eradicated, deal with it.
Keeping vaccines updated is the key and is being worked on, as is avoiding spreader conditions by distancing or masks.
You can't "get over it" as natural immunity doesn't work and symptoms and duration are worse without vaccines.
The key to what? Continuing to take ineffective boosters and acting like hypochondriacs forever? No thanks. I'll take my chances with a virus that is comparable in deadliness to annual flus at this point.
Continuing to take ineffective boosters and acting like hypochondriacs forever?
The JoeWorld version of heaven. Why he needs to put a veneer of rationality around his religion I don't understand - advocating for the avoidance of "spreader conditions" is just ritual purity. Only the unclean can get COVID - it is known.
Stay in your basement!
No need, just use your head.

"Megan Rapinoe to Receive Medal of Freedom for Being Gay"
https://headlineusa.com/megan-rapinoe-to-receive-medal-of-freedom-for-being-gay/
interesting choice, someone who hates America.
Wait, what? Steve Jobs? Did Biden think he was signing for a handy from a guy named Steve? Why the fuck would that guy deserve a medal of freedom for creating the most customer-imprisoning/forced-upgrade-demanding technology on the planet? And why 8 1/2 years after he died?
And he is still a better candidate than that terf-hating ball kicker who couldn't hack it on men's college squad.
Why the fuck would that guy deserve a medal of freedom for creating the most customer-imprisoning/forced-upgrade-demanding technology on the planet?
I own to MBP, one made in 2012, the other 2021. I am still using High Sierra OS on the 2012 and stopped upgrading on the 2021 where I am stuck on Big Sur. The High Sierra is a dream but I rarely use Safari on it due to fears of hackers. The Big Sur machine is a nightmare with constant update reminders and forced utilization of Apple apps instead of 3rd party, e.g. Quick Time vs VLC. Im ready to dump Apple but Windows is far worse. The whole computer experience evolution is a nightmare. I would not mind returning to DOS and Netscape with dialup modem
I have no problem with Steve Jobs and love most of the products he created. And his reward was BILLIONS OF DOLLARS. The idea that this was some sort of patriotic achievement that advanced freedom is silly, and cheapens the award to be nothing more than a political payment- like a lordship or ambassador position.
I kind of disagree. I think people like Jobs and Elon Musk and Henry Ford and such do more for the country by creating jobs and industry than your typical nonprofit dogooder could do in a million lifetimes. I think we sell the virtue of creating a business and providing goods and services to people and jobs way short.
Henry Ford may have been a fascist (or close to one), but he likely did more for actual freedom than almost anyone by democratizing mechanized transport. The jobs and industry are secondary IMO.
People being able to make an honest and stable living is one of the main requirements for having a free society. If people don't feel like the market can give them some level of security, they will trade their freedom for the security the government can give them and be rational to do so.
"I kind of disagree. I think people like Jobs and Elon Musk and Henry Ford and such do more for the country by creating jobs and industry than your typical nonprofit dogooder could do in a million lifetimes."
And their reward is BILLIONS of dollars. I absolutely think these people deserve all the celebrity status they get. But not the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That's different.
and cheapens the award to be nothing more than a political payment
To a guy who has been dead more than 8 1/2 years. Posthumous awards to soldiers make sense. It inspires heroic effort in situations where soldiers are putting their lives on the line to know that their efforts will be honored. Posthumous awards to tech moguls? Who is that supposed to inspire? They already have their reward, namely billions of dollars.
I think she and her team actually got their asses kicked by a boys under 15 squad, but otherwise spot on.
In a secret ceremony, Trump awarded me the Medal of Freedom for being straight. That's how straight.

NEW: This is part of yet another massive group of approximately 200 migrants who just crossed illegally into Eagle Pass, TX. This group is predominantly single adult men. In the last 48 hours we’ve seen groups of 500…150…100…and 200 here. It is non-stop, even in heat.

It is a complete humanitarian disaster. And it is going to end up costing the Democrats the Hispanic vote for a generation. What is really terrifying about the Biden Administration is that it doesn't have any competence to do anything no matter how obvious the need.
In 2015, we had a border crisis and the Obama Administration didn't really care because a lot of people in it don't believe in borders. By 2016, however, it was starting to hurt the Democrats politically. So, the Obama Administration put a stop to it and got it out of the papers. All of the stuff that the Democrats and Reason blamed on Trump hating immigrants were just things that were necessary to control the border and were just continuing the same thing Obama was doing. When the Obama administration needed to, it could solve a problem.
The border crisis is killing the Democrats going into the midterms. And Biden is doing nothing about it. That is not because of some deep state WEF plot. That is because the Biden Administration is leaderless and completely incompetent. And that is really scary.
It took two administrations, but I think that immigration voters are finally starting to catch on that the Democrats really have zero interest in helping them.
FWIW: Bush's 2004 victory was largely helped by hispanic defectors (he received 40% of the latino vote). And this largely happened because he was promising immigration reform that he ultimately was unable to deliver. Since then, the GOP has never done as well on percentage terms, though Trump improved over romney in both elections (ending at about 30% support).
The GOP can win these voters on a straight "stop the chaos" platform. Nobody looks at the borders and thinks what is happening is right. Enough of these people will defect solely because they want to punish Biden for being so bad on the issue.
It is stop the chaos and culture. Hispanics are not down with transgenderism and having their kids told that being gay and transgender is totally normal and desirable. That is garbage isn't going to sell to that culture at all.
Has there been any movement in this cohort in CA like the ones in TX and FL? If that happens then I'll start believing that a long-term shift is coming.

The rise of the far-right Latina
I have to admit, I'm slightly troubled by what appears in every respect to be some amount of bias in the media. Am I correct in my assessment?
It is a bit of bias, yes. You have to read the New York Times like the old Pravda. Everything they say is a lie. So, what is important is what isn't said not what is said here. So, why are they running a hit piece on a Congressional special election winner? Not exactly the biggest election ever. Why? Because what is not said is that more Hispanics are voting Republican and the Democrats are starting to panic about it. Thus, the Times feels the need to cover this and tell us about this "evil far right Latina".
Notice they didn't use LatinX. I guess even the Times has figured out that dog isn't going to hunt.
Just a whiff of bias. Just a whiff. It's not overwhelming bias. It isn't clear and in focus. But I can sense it. On the edges. Just a whiff.
Sometimes people phrase things in ways they don't realize can be taken as bias. It is just an accident.
So, a country of nearly 70 million people will have the leader of its government selected by 200,000 members of a single political party?
Sounds like representative government at its best...
Wisconsin bans drop boxes for elections.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/wisconsin-supreme-court-bans-uses-of-drop-boxes-in-elections
That is racism straight up. Everyone knows brown people are too stupid and paranoid about the cops to go to a polling place. Only a racist, white supremacist would think that brown people are not criminals and are intelligent enough to find where they are supposed to vote in person.
And ballot harvesting!
This is a massive win for legitimate elections and real democracy, you know, of the sort where you go the polls on election day and you vote in person, not absentee or by proxy, unless you fall in one of the narrow categories of individuals who has a legitimate need and reason to have to be able to vote absentee.
And it's a massive "L" for the democratic party crime machine with their 2,000 mules, a couple of whom work and comment here at Reason and are undoubtedly fuming right now that stealing elections in Wisconsin just got a whe lot harder.
RIP Shinto Abe. This gay and Black man will always remember you for the funniest 19 seconds in human history. Thank you!

Just watch the deep affection for Dear Leader. You think anyone looks at Joe Biden like that?
Apparently Shrike doesn't know that every single world leader ever does long handshake poses for the cameras. I just saw a Trudeau/Marcon one that had to be a minute and a half. This was nothing.
Trump lives absolutely rent-free in your mind and everyone else finds it hilarious.
I enjoy thinking that the Ali sock character has a fantasy about getting raped by Trump.
Boris Johnson Is Out as Britain's Prime Minister. Who Will Replace Him?
The walls are closing... I'm told the building has collapsed.
Brandon's statement on Abe Shinzo assassination:

“While there are many details we do not yet know, we know violent attacks are never acceptable & that gun violence always leaves a deep scar on the communities that are affected by it. The U.S. stands with Japan in this moment of grief.”
Only the military should have homemade guns with 2 barrels.
Ghost guns!!!!!
Gun violence leaves a deep scar. He should have assassinated him with a sword, much less scarring.
And culturally appropriate.
Should have culturally appropriate a claymore sword.
"Guns are very bad and wrong, I think Japan should consider banning them."
This is the international diplomacy version of making it all about yourself.
Boris Johnson Is Out as Britain's Prime Minister. Who Will Replace Him?
Probably another limey.
I have it on good authority that Joe wants to appoint Kamala.
"Humanitarian aid to Ukraine will be delayed and made more costly by protectionist shipping rules"
But voting aid (for one Party) will be accelerated.
"President Joe Biden will sign an executive order Friday directing the Department of Health and Human Services to take several steps intended to protect access to abortions and contraception."
Wait, I thought abortion is contraception. As in "reproductive freedom".
Joe Biden is currently on my radio bragging about his "economic plan"
• American basketball star Brittney Griner pleaded guilty to drug charges in Russia, further complicating the diplomatic situation created by her arrest in February.
Don't... take CBD oil into Russia.
• Despite fears of a coming recession, the U.S. economy added 372,000 jobs in June, the Department of Labor reported Friday morning. The unemployment rate held steady at 3.6 percent.
Or are those just the people who took part in the great quit-out and found that being an EDM musician wasn't as lucrative as they thought?
Chris Bassitt may be a hero to virus-flouting, disaffected clingers everywhere, but I doubt educated, reasoning, accomplished Americans are interested in public health pointers from a half-educated ballplayer with questionable integrity from Can't-Keep-Up, Ohio.
Carry on, clingers . . . but only so far as your betters permit, of course, in modern and improving America.
Yeah, because the vaccine works. No one who is vaccinated ever gets COVID.
At some point doesn't being ignorant about every topic get old?
Give Kirkland his meds back, folks.
You can give him all the meds you want, but unless you can win that involuntary commitment proceeding, you can't make him take them.
Carry on, clingers . . . but only so far as your betters permit, of course, in modern and improving America.
You mean the one that struck down Roe vs Wade and has marxist school boards on the run?
Carry on, slack-jawed, slope-foreheaded hicklibs.
President Joe Biden will sign an executive order Friday directing the Department of Health and Human Services to take several steps intended to protect access to abortions and contraception.
The Catholics must be thrilled to have one of their own in the White House again.
The unemployment rate held steady at 3.6 percent.
If not for the aforementioned coming recession...
Stop acting like COVID is far worse than a lot of other things...
GASP! BURN THE HERETIC.
Elon Musk's deal to buy Twitter might be falling apart.
My impulse purchases never work out, either.
Scientists may have finally figured out why T. rex had those famously short arms.
God didn't want them masturbating.
Humanitarian aid to Ukraine will be delayed and made more costly by protectionist shipping rules...
As long as government officials can still launder our money, I'm sure they'll be fine.
“Scientists may have finally figured out why T. rex had those famously short arms.“
Because the ones with longer arms kept accidentally biting their own arms off.
I offer up three choices to replace Bojo: John Cleese, Michael Palin or Eric Idle. I could include Terry Jones but he's already dead( no he's not, he's only pining for the Fiords)
I think Terry would have made a fine P.M. John Cleese though wouldn't put up with any nonsense. he'd have them stoned.
