Brickbat: Are You Going to Eat That?

A California law mandating that grocery stores and restaurants donate unused food to food banks took effect in January, and the state has already received more than 500 requests for waivers from rural towns and counties. Some local officials in rural areas said that they do not have the infrastructure required for composting food that cannot be donated, and many food banks in rural areas said they don't have the resources to collect all of the food that would be donated. "I can't send the truck all over town, picking up leftover sandwiches," said Tom Dearmore, director of community services at the Butte County Community Action Agency, which operates a food bank serving an area of 8,000 square miles in six northern California counties.

Gee whiz, Alma, that sounds like a bargain!
Stop losing every week more or less 1% of what the nation spends on fresh fruit with the Sticker Prohibition Amendment, In addition to doing no harm, the ban will effortlessly reduce the carbon footprint of the gluten avoiding classes and increase the price gap between organic and real fruit.
So... The Gov-Guns were put in charge of "planning" everyone's...
Housing.
Education.
Medical Care.
Today; We have housing bubble's and obscene prices for a box of sticks and some dirt, 20-Year loans for Education, Taxes on that box of sticks & dirt, and a Healthcare crisis....
Helping??? Sure, sure --- Helping themselves to everyone else's demise. What could possibly go wrong with throwing more Gov-Guns into the food supply? They're just "helping" by pointing Gov-Guns at people (i.e. Enslaving them).
So, after drafting business owners as unpaid police to enforce mask mandates, the government is now going to draft food stores to do unpaid food delivery and composting. And they'll have to create a bureaucracy to assure that the food stores are complying with mandated food delivery, and to issue fines for non-compliance.
Food stores AND food banks.
The food bank in my hometown is perpetually understaffed. It's 90% volunteers. They simply don't have the resources hit every sandwich shop and grocer every night to pick up leftovers.
They do get plenty of leftovers and culls and stuff, because contrary to the Democrats, people do indeed donate unused food to food banks. But a certain segment of handwringing Democrats don't think good things can happen unless Newsom mandates it.
The ancient Egyptians did slavery much better than California.
And they didn't have CRT to guide them!
To avoid making leftovers, now they will make fewer sandwiches, so if you want to by one, they will be out.
Food shortages for the win!
Just mandate that approximately half the population be available make sandwiches on demand, duh.
It's not the fault of the urbanites who develop central plans that flyover country isn't urban.
Welcome to the Green New Menu. Your choice:
1. Rotting food.
2. Bugs cultivated on rotting food.
3. Both.
4. Nothing.
If only California could manage to include such simple changes to the wording to switch out "shall" for "may."
But totalitarianism is hard to keep going when people have choices.
But he *must* send the truck all over town to collect those sandwiches - half of which he will then need to pay to have hauled away as garbage within 24 hours.
For the greater good.
