Hey, Republicans: Stop Coddling Crazies and Puckering Up to Putin
Republican idiocy is setting back the cause of freedom.
Even after Vladimir Putin's brutal attack on Ukraine, some Republican elected officials have been cozying up to Putin and to far-right nut-jobs in the United States. Every party has a Tin Foil Hat Caucus, of course, but the current GOP lacks leaders who are willing to rein in the wackos and keep their party from heading down a rabbit hole.
Republicans haven't paid a big price so far, but playing footsie with extremists is unlikely to end well. For the GOP's critics, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R–Ga.) is the gift that keeps on giving. Last month, Greene spoke to the America First Political Action Conference—a group that's popular among groypers (young, white-nationalist trolls).
To give you a sense of the optics, the attendees reportedly cheered loudly after former Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he's been called the "biggest racist in the country." That flustered Arpaio, who then asked: "What are you clapping for? That I am (the biggest racist) or that I'm not?" They also cheered when he said he's been accused of racial profiling.
Greene praised the conference's founder, Nick Fuentes—the smirking provocateur, who gave these insidious remarks: "Now they're going on about Vladimir Putin and Russia, and Vladimir Putin is Hitler—and they say that's not a good thing." Attendees chanted, "Putin! Putin! Putin!" Last year, Fuentes promised that he'd give the most racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, Holocaust-denying speech that weekend.
Greene played the victim after receiving expected criticism. She said she would not "turn down the opportunity to speak to 1,200 young American First patriots because of a few off-color remarks by another speaker," although she claimed not to know Fuentes' views. I'm not sure his comrades put America first—and only an ignoramus wouldn't realize what these other speakers were saying.
Nevertheless, she received little GOP pushback beyond a wrist-slap from the GOP's oleaginous House leader, Kevin McCarthy (R–Calif.). It's no wonder. Republicans will not criticize Donald Trump. And Trump, who initially praised Putin's genius, gave a call out to Greene at a more-mainstream conservative conference. That crowd gave her a loud cheer—and Republicans no doubt enjoyed her childish heckling of Joe Biden's State of the Union.
Similar nuttiness played out in Arizona. State Sen. Wendy Rogers (R–Flagstaff), also spoke at the disturbing gathering, where she made Greene sound like a squishy moderate. Rogers called Ukrainian President Zelensky a "globalist puppet" who, along with Western leaders, "report to the same Satanic masters." She talked about hanging war criminals.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, whose political action committee helped elect Rogers, at first refused to criticize her remarks. Rogers was better than her Democratic opponent, he said. That was dismaying because Ducey is one the nation's best and gutsiest governors. I chuckle at the time he hung up on Trump as he certified Arizona's electors.
Fortunately, Ducey later issued a critical statement and then the Arizona Senate voted to censure Rogers. It did so by an overwhelming margin, thus reminding us that it's still possible—though admittedly rare—for politicians to police their own.
This problem is just as pernicious on the Left. An avowed socialist came perilously close to winning the Democratic presidential nomination. Liberal Democratic mayors have struggled to condemn the Antifa fanatics who had turned parts of their cities into wastelands. I remember the Cold War days when progressives fawned over Fidel Castro and Daniel Ortega, just as some righties now fawn over Putin and Hungary's Viktor Orban.
Given all the talk about Russia, it's a good time to consider the legacy of Alexander Kerensky, the relatively moderate prime minister of the Russian government in 1917. As his regime faced attacks from the Right, Kerensky embraced a "no enemies on the Left" strategy that emboldened Bolsheviks such as Lenin—and led to the overthrow of his government and to a 70-year totalitarian calamity.
The modern lesson is that liberal parties that can't purge themselves of socialists and conservative parties that can't purge themselves of fascists risk destruction by those "allies." Greene is a backbencher, but the list of GOP court jesters keeps getting longer. Eventually, Greene, Lauren Boebert, Madison Cawthorn, and Matt Gaetz may become the face of the party.
As I explained in a previous column, National Review publisher William F. Buckley convinced 1964 GOP presidential nominee Barry Goldwater to distance himself from the John Birch Society. That group was, like Buckley, anti-communist, but its leader traded in conspiracy theories (e.g., that Dwight D. Eisenhower was a communist agent).
Buckley knew the crazy stuff undermined the anti-communist cause. Goldwater lost the election, but his ideas resurfaced with Ronald Reagan. By then, the Republican Party's conspiratorialists and extremists had been pushed to the margins, but they've recently made a comeback. Yet their idiocy is setting back the cause of freedom. Are there any Republican adults with the stature of Buckley?

If they are really crazy, the people in their congressional district will vote them out. That is how the system works. Based on what I have seen, their constituents (i.e. Green, Boebert, Cawthorne, Gaetz) seem not inclined to vote them out. Consider the possibility that they accurately represent their constituents consensus views.
I don’t personally have an issue with any of them. They have not broken any laws. It is a free country. They can talk to who they like, and say what they want. Ultimately, their constituents will hold them to account.
Maybe we just let the process work instead of trying to censor and cancel people?
That’s crazy talk. What are you, some kind of libertarian?
Yeah, sorry about that. WTF was I thinking? 🙂
[JOIN NOW] I really make A LOT OF MONEY ($200-$300/hour) online from my laptop. Last month I received almost $50,000. this line work is simple and straightforward. cjg You don’t need to go to the office, it’s online work from home. You become independent after joining this position. I really appreciate my friend.

“Ultimately, their constituents will hold them to account.”
Then the US needs to import more Black and Brown bodies (IOW, obedient Democratic voters) and make sure they settle in those Congressional districts. Eventually we’ll replace every Boebert with an Omar.

ROTFLMAO
OBL, you are a National Treasure!
It is not parody. Brandy was actually calling for more brown people in the almost white exclusive community he chose to move to.
Brandy is a racist.
She’s also a real fine girl.
He also said once that he lives in Sunnyvale, as do I. Rest assured, any “exclusive community” (I believe condos were specified) around here also has its share of affluent Indians (dot, not feather). Guess what color their skin is?
You live in a trailer park in Canada?
Alas, no. The Sunnyvale to which I refer is located in the heart of the Shiticon Hell which has supplanted my beloved Santa Clara Valley, California. The Canadian trailer park wouldn’t just be way cheaper, it would be way classier as well.
Just compare the immigrant % county map with the D/R % vote of 2021… It’s absolutely TRUE…
Frankly; I have a hard time buying immigrants even vote at all at that significant of a level let alone have that much predictability of all supporting the Nazi-Regime enough to make that change – but virtual/anonymous voting kinda makes that an invisible part of the equation… And any skepticism of that vote predictability would be shunned as being racist…
The left really has created the opportunity for a fraud-ed voting system.
Seems Reason only likes “reasonable” Republicans who will pursue the same policies Democrats do…just a tad more slowly.
They are supporting Romney after all.
Nothing says TeenReason libertarianism like big government corporatists.
I do not know what the hell Soave is thinking.
Romney was dog shit in 2012. Why the hell does he think he’d do better now?
#Libertariansfortheuniparty
The same libertarians that think cutting off free shit isn’t the first step in dealing with the homeless crisis.
https://reason.com/2022/03/07/georgia-state-senator-introduces-bill-to-cut-homeless-funds-from-cities-with-too-many-homeless/
Wow. “Libertarians” arguing that withholding state grants to nonprofits is bad.
WTF, Reason?
Greenhut especially cares about stuff that CNN-watching and NPR-listening folks get upset by.
He will surrender to tone police every time.
“If only Comrade Stalin knew” – Steve Greenhut, 2032
So you think the GOP and libertarianism should embrace neo-Nazis?
“neo-Nazis”?? I would say I don’t think that means what you think it does but I KNOW it doesn’t mean what you think it does.
In Tony’s defense, he thinks Nazi’s weren’t just another flavor of socialism.
You know, like Nick Fuentes, who introduced MTG right after praising Hitler.
lol You people are so fucked.

A Daily Beast article about a Russian-American donating $59.95 to Tulsi Gabbard has gone mega viral. Meanwhile, a congressman who slept with a Chinese spy continues to serve in Congress.
They don’t just represent their districts, they represent the Republican party. It’s okay for other Republicans to speak out against them. Maybe the voters in their district don’t realize just how crazy these nutters are. We’re all used to hearing Democrats demonize Republicans and Republicans demonize Democrats. Most people just tune that shit out. However, if respected Republicans like DeSantis or Cruz or Paul say that these people are bad news that will carry some weight with Republican voters.
MTG > Amash
Dramatically better.
Pelosi felt no need to silence Amash.
MTG is crazy, LB is crazy hot. We will need a Debbie Mendoza scale to figure out how that matters.
Amash is Harbor Freight tools – it might seem like a good deal at first, but it’s broken as soon as you put it to use.
Could say the very same about Democrats
Seems like you’re the one trying to cancel people.
We can’t criticize Nazis now?
Sure…. Everyone gets to criticize the National Socialists.
BECAUSE… The USA isn’t a National Socialist Nation.
What’s fun about you lefties is you call everyone else EXACTLY what you are.
I mean, we all criticize you, so obviously we’re okay with that.
“Cancel people.”
Siren song of the idiots who want to abide by their own fascist bullshit and get tired of people calling them out for being terrible people.
Democrats?
Leftists:
“One difference between Putin and Hitler is that Hitler didn’t kill ethnic Germans, German-speaking people.
Putin slaughters the very people he said he has come to liberate. https://t.co/fMr9dTZipF “
What, let the constituents of the states in question make their own decisions, versus blowhards like greenhut making them? That is crazy talk, don’t you know that greenhut is the neutral arbiter, the umpire, on all matters? Especially when it comes to hypocrisy, and ‘california-style’ libertarian-ish conservative-ish viewpoints that he pretends to hold.
Seems the California Republicans have taken his advice. They’re extinct.
Too late.
Putin literally controls the Republican Party. After all, their most recent President has been a Russian intel asset since 1987. Patriotic, pro-America voters must therefore support Democrats for the foreseeable future.
(Conveniently, voting Democrat is what we Koch / Reason libertarians should do anyway because of immigration.)
#LibertariansForGettingToughWithRussia
Yeah but, #Bidenflation
It is Jimmy Carter all over again, OBL. What are we to do?
There is literally no inflation. Reason’s leading economics expert has made this quite clear.
#DefendBidenAtAllCosts
Poor Mr. Biden can’t even escape that I word at once respectable publications like Vox!
That’s right Loony Biden says Nobel prize winning economist say he’s on the right track. Whew!
It is putin inflation. Don’t you pay attention to the news? Russians have a fucking time machine.
Putin chaws terbacky?
How many illegals have you given refuge to? You all for open borders; open yours and let them in your house. Put you money where your mouth is, which is where harris’s dick goes-in your mouth.
Lol.
How many illegals have you given refuge to? You all for open borders; open yours and let them in your house. Put you money where your mouth is,
Ya see boy, it’s SATIRE, I said SATIRE, son!
Let me try….
That’s a YOKE, son!
Dude, Reason expresses more unequivocal outrage about no-no gamer words than war. Piss off. The only people who would be put off by Nick Fuentes are people who would have never voted republican anyway. It’s all faux outrage.
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/02/23/trump-putin-ukraine-invasion-00010923
Trump calls Putin ‘genius’ and ‘savvy’ for Ukraine invasion
The former president’s praise for Putin comes at a perilous geopolitical moment in Europe.
“I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful,” Trump said in a radio interview with “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.” “He used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy.”
Totalitarian whack jobs just LOOOOOVE other totalitarian whack jobs!!! Foolish and evil voters apparently DESERVE their foolish and evil leaders!!! But WHY, in the Name of Government Almighty, MUST they drag innocent people along with them, in their ride to HELL on Earth?!?!?
Trump also claimed he could have prevented Putin from invading, which is dubious. Trump is admiring Putin’s salesmanship of his actions, not his purpose.
Trump also claimed he could have prevented Putin from invading, which is dubious.
IDK, he was no fan of NATO and a second term would’ve given him pretty free rein to start any/all crusades against Burisma.
I was similarly sure he and Kushner would fail to negotiate any sort of peace in the ME too. If you’d told me he’d negotiate peace *and* declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel, I’d have said you were nuts.
Trump also claimed he could have prevented Putin from invading, which is dubious.
It’s dubious in the strict sense that it’s impossible to know for sure, but it’s not an unfounded claim. If Trump were president last year, he most likely wouldn’t have cancelled arms sales to Ukraine, most likely wouldn’t have lifted his sanctions on Russia, most likely wouldn’t have green-lit EU efforts to increase their dependence on Russian oil, most likely wouldn’t have eased pressure on NATO members to meet their spending and readiness obligations, most likely wouldn’t have talked up a storm of mixed messages (including explicitly stating that an invasion of Ukraine would be acceptable), and most likely none of this would be happening with the backdrop of a clown show ouster from Afghanistan with thousands of Americans still trapped there.
And if the Afghanistan had turned into a shit show he would have fired all the generals responsible not promoted them.
The only thing we know for sure is that Putin invaded Ukraine in Obama’s 6th year, didn’t invade in any of Trump’s 4 years, and invaded Ukraine early into Biden’s second year.
That’s all we know about Trump and Ukraine? Think hard.
Here’s a hint: Trump was impeached over it.
All he wanted was an investigation.
All he wanted was an investigation announcement, you mean. He was very specific about that. Also very specific about the timing of this request, which was immediately following the Ukrainian president asking about the aid payment which had already been approved by congress.
And all VP Biden wanted was the firing of the prosecutor investigating Burisma who was funneling money to him through his crackhead son.
No wonder Trump was impeached.
BTW is Burisma a for real company or just a slush fund for American politicians children?
Poor Dee really thinks that’s why Trump was impeached.
Well son of a bitch…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0_AqpdwqK4&t=3160s
Trump was impeached because he threatened Biden’s cash cow!
Trump was impeached because he got caught withholding Congressionally approved aid to Ukraine to try to extort them into announcing an investigation of his opponent in the Presidential race. He didn’t even ask for an investigation, just the announcement of one.
Just ignore the fact that he released it well before articles of impeachment were drawn up. Or the fact that Biden was not his opponent as the process for the Democrats to pick their nominee hadn’t even started yet.
Trump was impeached because he threatened Biden’s, Pelosi’s and Kerry’s cash cow. He’s lucky he didn’t threaten Clintons’.
Biden called putin the next peter the great as VP.
Well, after all, we do have a recent historical record we can consult.
How many times did Putin invade another country during Trump’s presidency?
Compare that to say, the preceding administration.
(answers: zero and two)
Saddam invaded Kuwait while President George H.W. Bush was in power in the USA. Saddam did this because a Republican was the POTUS, dammit!
Or in spite of.
Or, and hang with me on this one: because he didn’t think there would be any consequences or repercussions from the US. That was a gamble he lost.
After Bush the Worse’s ambassador gave Saddam a wink and a nod. That SOBush invaded 3 countries in his one term. Oops, he invaded two. he never invaded Iraq, he left that for Bush the Worst to complete.
You realize that Trump was actually the president, and Putin didn’t invade any countries during that time, right?
“Trump also claimed he could have prevented Putin from invading, which is dubious.”
Putin invaded countries under Bush (Georgia), Obama (Crimea), and Biden (Ukraine). Wonder why there is a President he did NOT try this shit with?
At two minutes, 18 seconds, give or take.
Listen to him. Are you incapable of recognizing sarcasm when you hear it?
Yeah, and as I heard Trump say that I noted it as a sarcastic tone, a bunch of “Trump tones.”
Trump also criticized Germany when he met with them those few years ago about getting more dependent on Russian oil. He made total sense. They scoffed at him, and I bet Germany sure wishes they had listened to him now.
Trump also condemned Putin quite extensively.
Also, don’t know where the interview is, (heard it on the radio) and in the interview, Trump basically said, (paraphrasing), “Look, we all have our national interests, Mine for U S.A., Putin for Russia, Kim for N. Korea”, I talked to them often, we understood each other.
What’s wrong with that? (Come on, isn’t that what Trump is, a New Yorker, blunt, shoot from the hip, wheeler, dealer biggie business guy).
Maybe Putin knew not to step over certain boundaries with Trump. I think that’s what Trump meant.
The political parties no longer have legal authority to prevent undesirable candidates from running in their primaries or from claiming membership in their party. The Republican Party attempted to prevent David Duke from running for office as a Republican and was prevented by the courts.
Interesting how an article criticizing both major parties has a headline only lambasting the GOP.
From Greenhut, an alleged ‘dyed in the wool libertarian’. Greenhut is as libertarian as Biden is African.
Ackshuyally, We are all Africans.
And C’mon, Man! African plantains can be food processed and put into Biden’s Jello Pudding too. 😉
LOL
You ain’t black if you don’t vote for him.
Biden that is.
Biden just wishes he was African. They goin put you all back in chains.
Greenhut, of course, has no bias and remains an impartial reporter of fact in all this, and, of course, does his due diligence investigation before jumping aboard the bandwagon to call all dissenting voices loonies and Russian agents.
Because only commie propagandists would believe that the US has curated bioweapons in Ukraine in dozens of labs since 2005, under the guise of nonproliferation, that are problematic enough to cause grave concern if the Russians got them, according to commie propagandist Victoria Nuland.
Likewise, no REAL American could believe that Pres. Zelensky would possibly say things that were untrue to try to draw the West into WW3. All of these images of horror and trauma are genuine, and any resemblance to fictitional movies or previous conflicts in other parts of the world is a very intricate Russian scheme, possibly involving time machines. There were no Ukrainians initiating firefights from sensitive locations like nuclear reactors…
No patriot would read anything into the WEF denouncing Putin, and no patriot will flinch at dealing with the pain at the pump and checkout caused solely by Vladimir Putin.
Useful idiots don’t ask questions.
Actual Kremlin propaganda. Word for word.
All the lying assholes coming out of the woodwork the last couple days. Hey DOL, did Lying Jeffy send you a DM to come back?
Democrats control every lever of power and are using them to run the country into the ground, and Republicans are the problem?
Surely Reason will post something about the “crazies” among Democrats demanding censorship and racial segregation and gulags for dissenters, right?
Is puckering up to Xi Jinping and Fidel Castro just fine now?
By the way, just wondering, who did this Editor vote for?
They got a “to be sure,” mention. What more do you want?
“Liberal Democratic mayors have struggled to condemn the Antifa fanatics who had turned parts of their cities into wastelands.”
I suppose that’s one way of looking at it. Or, you could say democratic mayors went all in on it, along with the press (including Reason), just about every major corporation, and the democrats in the House and Senate.
I know it’s fashionable in cosmotarian circles to attribute all of America’s problems to conservatives and republicans, but COME ON.
Democrat mayors didn’t only not condemn but actively supported. Even telling the federal government they will refuse to work woth then on stopping riots. Telling their DAs to not pursue charges.
And it was especially hilarious because in essence they were protesting against themselves and their own policies.
Crowd: Your police are racist!
Mayor: Yeah they are!
Everybody else: Well why didn’t you do something about that then?
Hey Democrats Stop Being More Oppressive And Authoritative Than The Politburo Ever Dreamed Of Being And Making The Hollow Shells Of Their Descendants Seem Reasonable In Comparison
Even if it’s pure Russian propaganda (from euronews?), it’s propaganda in favor of individual liberty. And, if it’s not pure propaganda, how long did Russia’s six-week lockdown last relative to our ‘two weeks’?
Meanwhile, in the Free World, we are banning dissenting news and punishing those that say things contrary to official Truth.
In related news, wet is the new dry.
No one ever said it was easy to hang onto Liberty, free speech, etc.
People always have to fight for it in one way or another.
Initiating wars against neighboring countries stops the spread of Covid, duh.
Trolling so easy, it doesn’t require an Internet connection.
Bronwyn Carlton and Jim the Poet on WFMU used to have the Putin Pals, imaginary animals, for the same purpose.
It makes Reason crazy that MTG has done more on the House than Amash ever did. She has started to enforce actual voting instead of voice voting by aides. It passes the committees off as they have to take time to actually really put their votes on paper. That is more than Amash and his 2 named post offices.
At some point a magazine called reason should focus on actions instead of words. Half the shit they care about is optics. But tyranny under kind words is still tyranny. And no I don’t give a fuck about what she says outside of policy submitted. When she submits shit like the GND wake me up.
And how come this article doesn’t exist for democrats? They have a plethora of influential crazies including Marxists. Just a weird way to try to push liberty.
How do you call out individual Dems when the entire party is insane?
And Reason is not a Libertarian publication, no matter how often Robby practices saying he is in the mirror.
The biggest problem with Reason is they take writers who lean left in heavily blue districts who think liberty is being just slightly less authoritarian than democrats. I mean fuck, J.D. has an article praising covid welfare spending allowing workers to quit and live off the dole.
Jesse “Stop The KRAKEN” AZ is now a Majorie Taylor “Jew Space Lasers” Greene fan. And then goes on to complain about “influential crazies” in the other party.
Of course.
Weird, Lying Jeffy and sociopath DOL both show up within a day after both being gone for weeks, and both post the same trolling bullshit upon their return.
Greenhut is not a libertarian. He seems to exist to bash trump and the GOP, while insisting he is just being fair-minded. Much like most of the left-leaning sorts around these parts. Which is fine, but be open about it, say that you are a left-leaning shill, and be done with it.
Greenhut doing his level best as an ignorant and dishonest propagandist for the CCP, I mean DNC. Does he realize the people he uncritically supports call literally anyone who disagrees with them a racist, homophobic, sexist white supremacist? Probably not, if he did he might understand the mockery of that position inherent in the events he sees as a revival of the KKK.
The media are the enemy of the people and they prove it every day with pieces like this.
“oleaginous House leader”
Come on, that’s not a word. Is it?
adjective
1.
rich in, covered with, or producing oil; oily or greasy.
“fabrics would quickly become filthy in this oleaginous kingdom”
2.
exaggeratedly and distastefully complimentary; obsequious.
“candidates made the usual oleaginous speeches in the debate”
I give the writer -10 points for trying to use it and being a poser.
Maybe kerfuffle got old?
Hey, Reason: Stop coddling fascists and puckering up to progressives.
The proles don’t have the really good cocktail parties on the Beltway, in LA and Frisco, or NYC that all the reasonmag editors so enjoy.
What is the definition of “puckering up to Putin”? From what I’ve seen, asking even the most obvious question about the U.S. getting involved in Ukraine is dismissed as “Putin propaganda”, along with specious references to Neville Chamberlain.
Racist!
What is the definition of “puckering up to Putin”?
Pretty sure even asking the question means you’re willing to bend over for him.
How about this part?
“Greene praised the conference’s founder, Nick Fuentes—the smirking provocateur, who gave these insidious remarks: “Now they’re going on about Vladimir Putin and Russia, and Vladimir Putin is Hitler—and they say that’s not a good thing.” Attendees chanted, “Putin! Putin! Putin!” “
Show me the video. The only one I’ve seen was a hoax with Putin chants edited over the original video. Based on sources, and lack of evidence, it appears Greenhut has fallen for this Tik-Tok Hoax.
I didn’t ask for an isolated example. You can always find those. But what is the standard?
Meanwhile…
https://twitter.com/greg_price11/status/1502326279412105217?t=KVWl6qHKJKT2NUT95gVqSQ&s=19
Wtf did I just read
[Link]
We also signed the Budapest Memorandum, along with Russia to respect the Ukrainian state, and defend it. So much for Putin respecting that, and for us defending Ukraine.
Maybe this isn’t so much about Ukraine, or NATO as it is Putin wanting more of the Russian empire back.
Biden basically gave him a green light.
You really think Putin would simply stop at Ukraine?
I too was called a Russian troll for pointing out that NATO expanded into former soviet countries after promising not too, and undermining the previously elected president to install Zelensky as essentially a NATO puppet.
I’m NOT a Russian troll – my sons may be called to fight a third world war because of NATO’s foolish expansion. They – two of my sons – already did a year long stretch in Poland following the Russian invasion into Crimea.
Henry Kissinger wrote a great article circa 2014 about Ukraine that has a lot of historical context and analysis about events in the region – it’s a worthy read…
https://www.henryakissinger.com/articles/how-the-ukraine-crisis-ends/
Tell me again which political party now in power would rather send oil money to far away drug czars and terrorists than a neighboring democracy, or even ourselves?
And which party was in charge during Putin invasions?
And which party was in charge when Putin invaded nobody?
Maybe we need a definition of “coddling”.
What neighboring democracy? You must mean Mexico, because clearly you can’t describe Canada as a democracy anymore
Are Ken’s ears burning?
Ideas!
FWIW, Fuentes doesn’t sound like a White guy name.
Like Zimmerman… he’s a white Hispanic; which is basically KKK.
We live in the Three Degrees of Crazy: everyone is only three jumps away from a crazy person. Try it: it’s true.
*jumps up and down three times, looks around*
Yup. I’m sharing the room with a crazy person.
That’s a mirror you’re looking at—and no, I’m NOT calling you crazy. I’m just suggesting….you said “Bloody Mary” each of those three times you jumped up and down, didn’t you?
This is true. I know a guy who swears that Putin is going to roll tanks into America any day now and restore our democracy and install Trump into his rightful place as king. Fucking crazy. Makes even Greene seem sane. But lesser crazies abound. A coworker genuinely believes in UFOs, despite being an otherwise brilliant engineer and scientist. Go figure. I have cousins who believe in whatever miracle goop Hollywood is promoting as a cure-all. Cancer from cellphones, mind control from vaccines, GMOs will kill you, Trump won the election, the wafer literally becomes the body of Christ, etc. Everyone knows one of these crazies. Usually they’re harmless. But sometimes they vote one of their own into office.
“I know a guy who swears that Putin is going to roll tanks into America any day now and restore our democracy and install Trump into his rightful place as king.”
I’ll take “Things that never happened for $500” Mayim.
Surprise! An idiot commenter apparently knows many other idiots.
Perhaps dipshits of a feather really do flock together.
Bull f’ing shit!
Yeah dude, this is just too much. Maybe don’t try so hard next time.
Hahahahahah. Goddamn Brandy. Just wow.
Ha! Yeah, but what if someone calls YOU the crazy person.
The people who go along with actually using the term “pregnant person”, is growing. Even Christian ministers are using that term, while promoting “women’s empowerment.”
Boggles the mind.
Yet again, Greenhut trashes energy independent freedom loving Republicans to cover up for the disastrous policies (that enriched, empowered and emboldened Putin) imposed by carbon banning, lockdown loving, vaccine mandating, left wing Democrats.
Greenhut has trashed politicians from the left plenty. He’d from California and has ripped Newsome and all their other loonies plenty.
The four Republicans he singled out here are worthy of scorn. They don’t seem to be trying to govern (remember spending cuts, anyone? Do Republicans care about those anymore?). All those clowns seem to want to do is to do things or say things to draw attention to themselves. The more outrageous and ridiculous the better. I wouldn’t hire any of them to work in my yard.
And by association they make Republicans look awful. Like the progs make the Democrats look.
So its OK for Pelosi to throw MTG (and other Republicans) off of House Committees, but not OK for MTG (or other Repubicans) to excercise their first amendment rights.
Pelosi is garbage.
And it’s fine for Greene and the rest to exercise their 1A rights. Problem is that when they do so it makes them look like imbeciles. And then by extension the Republicans must be imbeciles too. Those four are the Republican version of The Squad. Stupid and proud of it.
Most Americans never heard of those 4 Republicans (because they have no power in DC).
The only people who know about them are the brain dead left wing idiots who watch (and believe) CNN and MSNBC propagandists are paid to demonize Trump and other Republicans 24/7 in order to distract attention from the hundreds of disastrous policies imposed by Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomo, deBlasio and other left wing Democrats.
Why does Ken get to post a whole article and why is everyone calling him Greenhut?
Haha! Ken, you earned this burn brother.
Ken is smarter, and though thin-skinned if challenged, at least can back up his arguments. Greenhut seems to be a typical self-important stuffed shirt who provides his opinions, and sources that support his views but are so biased that they are of little value.
I use to live next door to a JBS bookstore, and many LP members I used to walk precincts with joined the JBS. And on the surface the look libertarian. But being in close association with them it was hard to overlook the obvious: their one core principle is that “Conspiracy Theory of History”.
They weren’t against communism because it was communism. They were against it because it was a conspiracy. They weren’t for a free market because it was free, but because at the time it was a fringe belief. Remember, this was at a time when conservatives were against communism because it was “godless”, not because it was anti-market.
The problem with conspiracy thinking is that it asserts that huge expansive government is perfectly fine, just so long as it’s not controlled by a shadowy insider. This is profoundly anti-liberty. The problem with government is NOT that it is controlled by a conspiracy or secret oligarch or the Jews (yes, the heart of so many conspiracy theories) or reptiles (code word for Jew) or whatever, the problem with government is that it denies freedom to the individual. As such it’s power must be restrained at all levels. If that means some people you don’t like get to marry then you just have to grin and deal with it.
this was at a time when conservatives were against communism because it was “godless”, not because it was anti-market.
Conservatives opposed communism because it was anti-freedom. Unprincipled people lie about their motivation because attacking someone for supporting freedom while purporting to also support freedom damages their credibility.
Remember, you’re responding to someone that claims everyone against open borders is racist.
Remember, you’re responding to someone that claims everyone against open borders is racist.
All while urging others to adopt the Principle of Charity. The key facet of Left Wing Privilege is virtue preening as if you have principles or decency despite engaging in every contemptible tactic under the sun.
It reminds me of sarcasmic’s “I fucked your mother” taunt combined with his lecturing others to engage ideas rather than making personal insults. They think they deserve to be treated well because being left wing demonstrates they are good people, but they never offer the same in return.
If that means some people you don’t like get to marry then you just have to grin and deal with it.
It’s funny that you cite this. Like the people opposed to The Gay Agenda were opposed to some shadowy cabal as opposed to ‘bake the cake’ and ‘Teach gay in pre-K’.
The JBS is the type who see it as all of a single Satanic piece, with no possibility of Freedom of Association for all.
And? Do they see it as a cadre of Satan worshippers assembled around the embodiment of Satan or just as a broad evil malaise? There’s a decent argument that agnostic or atheistic libertarians don’t see a possibility of freedom of association for all. If a group of Russians want to get together and declare Crimea an independent state or part of the Soviet Union, they oppose. Even going so far as to assert a shadowy, conspiratorial cabal within the Kremlin being the (sole) motivation.
I think we both agree that the “They don’t oppose communism, they opposed the instantiation of communism.” is oxymoronic.
Yes, I ‘ve also encountered John Birchers and their youth auxillary The Sons of Birchers. 😉
Although they have the absolutely right idea on opposing Communism and the United Nations and supporting a strong national defense and RKBA, those by themselves do not mean being pro-Individual Rights and Limited Government.
On social issues like State-sponsored prayer, abortion, and LGBTQ+ issues, they take a Religious Right view with a stong Christian and especially pro-Catholic bias. So definitely not for me.
Also, why get into conspiracy-ology when so much is rotten and wrong in broad daylight for all to see?
Never attribute to malice what incompetence can explain. Never attribute to conspiracy what good old fashioned self-interest can explain.
Also, the Principle of Charity. Instead of automatically assuming all dentists are communist, stop and take their arguments at their face value: Maybe they desire fluoridated drinking water because they genuinely believe it fights cavities? And maybe you should also brush your won teeth once in a while?
Keep digging, fuckweasel. Hopefully you’ll starve to death waiting for someone to lower a rope.
“brush your won teeth”
That was so stupid I actually laughed out loud.
I never actually heard anyone put forward that famous “Communists are putting fluoride in the water” trope. I only heard it mocked by teachers and other left-liberal adults when I was growing up. Oh yeah, and from that crazy US General in Dr Strangelove.
Now mind you, in fourth grade we kids were made to use fluoride water…only we didn’t swallow it, just swished it around in our mouths for a few minutes. In fact, it was called “Swish.” While swishing we danced The Hustle to various songs—including @Do The Hustle” itself, “Funky Beethoven” and “Disco Duck.” (Did I mention this was the 1976-77 school year?)
Now we never saw anything nefarious—let alone Communist—about it, not at the time nor since. But jeeze, what an embarrassingly lame ass memory to have!!!!
I met a legal Nicaraguan immigrant who believes in both that and chem trails. He was incredibly anti bush, but not in any way a democrat.
My best friend’s wife also believes in some these more ridiculous things like 5g mind control.
.
I was speaking with very intelligent liberal black guy who said bloodlust was in white peoples dna. I didn’t believe those black men existed… I’d only ever heard that from beta white liberals and women.
These people are out there. Sometimes the lunatic on the idiot isn’t just trolling.
The Soviet Union oversaw the death of 40-60 million. The CCP, 60-80 million. Cambodia, North Korea, Cuba, etc., etc., etc. Communist revolution is incontrovertibly the most efficient way to kill humans ever devised.
this was at a time when conservatives were against communism because it was “godless”, not because it was anti-market
Could Brandy possibly be ignorantly shilling Marxist talking points? Could he have just learned it wrong? Because to casually assert that conservatives are nothing but religious wankers while dismissing a century of mass murder takes balls the size of watermelons or profound stupidity.
Well, if brandy has consistently proven anything while posting here, it’s that he has no balls whatsoever
I’m new here but I’m going with “profound stupidity”. Final answer.
I’m surprised he addresses the left at all since that has not been his practice, but why does Greenhut harken back to the openly communist era to identify left wingers sucking up to authoritarians? Biden, Obama, and Hillary Clinton all sucked up to Putin in the last decade. They only switched to a hardline anti-Russian stance because it helped attack Trump, otherwise they’d still be slurping Putin.
For decades leftists have made great gains by arguing objective reality doesn’t exist, converting history into a mythology supportive of their fantasies, supporting fascist intimidation, and advocating racial animosity. These tactics helped them take over the media and the education systems, greatly entrenching their insitutional power. It was inevitable that some Republicans would attempt these tactics using their own beliefs as well. This is a shame, but the leftists who want to attack the efforts on the right while continuing to support the much more developed and damaging left wing versions aren’t to be taken seriously. This is how you identify leftists posing as libertarians.
Putin was originally seen as a level-headed technocrat of sorts, and the Obama administration (like Bush before it) thought he’d be a partner rather than adversary, at least to some degree. Then Crimea happened. Then Trump happened. Now the only politician still lucking Putin’s nuts is Trump, when he’s not trailing off about windmills. In his defense, he probably actually has dementia.
He’s also the leader of the party you think has all the good answers.
Nobody believed Putin, a career KGB officer, was a technocrat. Leftists told you not to worry about it because they didn’t want the distraction so that’s what you told yourself.
He’s also the leader of the party you think has all the good answers.
You think Trump’s a libertarian? Oh, you think because I recognize the left are a bigger danger I must think Reps are always right.
Reps are maybe right 15% of the time. Granted this is literally infinitely better than the Dems 0%. Maybe if your mind was mature enough to progress past us vs them you wouldn’t accidentally reveal your limited understanding of reality every time you comment.
Is 0 x infinity zero or infinity? I’d guess it’s still zero, but I only remember the two basic rules.
Funny.
The State Department tried to set up Poland to get NATO unignorably at war with Russia with Blinken’s “green light” gambit, only to thankfully be thwarted by Poland calling the bluff then the Pentagon stepping in to say a firm “no”.
The State Department also admitted to running a bunch of biolabs in Ukraine which they were terrified would fall into Russian hands, tried several stories to handwave the admission away, and has spent all week “warning” that Russia is going to conduct a “false flag” bio attack…
But yea, definitely no reason to criticize the DoS!
Worse case scenario: Even if the U.S. had bioweapons labs in Ukraine, is bombing uninvolved civilian targets Putin’s idea of how to deal with that? And couldn’t such attacks against the labs release weaponized biotoxins into the air and water?
Do you want life to be like The Omega Man or I Am Legend? Because that’s how you get The Omega Man or I Am Legend!
Captain Trips should be on the list too.
Do you want life to be like The Omega Man or I Am Legend? Because that’s how you get The Omega Man or I Am Legend!
I remain unconvinced that Omega Man or I Am Legend is substantially worse than The Terminator, 1984, Faith Of Our Fathers, etc.
I’m amazed that you keep posting as if you’ve ever in your life had something intelligent to say.
If this wasn’t so freakin’ dangerous – it would be hilarious!
Weapons of mass destruction? – Where? Nothing to see here! (While hand waving in front of a biological research facility and pointing the other way…) It’s like the deep state and the military industrial complex is just recycling the Iraq war talking points, but they forgot, some of us are still old enough to remember!!
Then – Rubio earned his pay this week, he asked the right question, not expecting the witness to actually tell the fucking truth!!
Because (R) are totally running the show: Foriegn Policy, Legislation, the State Department, the DoD. Not a single (D), so this entire charlie foxtrot is because (R) are coddling Putin. Destroying America’s energy supply (hardest hit domestic), paying dane geld to Iran and Venuzuela, and so on is totally the (R)’s fault. And, sure, the Ukraine had corrupt dealings with Biden, but that is really Trump’s fault (the corruption happend after Trump was born after all).
I mean, WTAF Reason? Are y’all that brain dead?
war happens when (D) is in power sorry.
Hey Greenview. What’s your evidence for:
Attendees chanted, “Putin! Putin! Putin!”
The hoax tik-tok video going around? Or can you provide a link to the actual AFPAC video showing this?
There we go with “brutal attack” again. What attack is not brutal? Just signalling a top change, as usual.
Loud slurping sounds filled the room as Greenhut launched his brutal attack on the Donkey’s knob.
It does seem a tad overemphasized, doesn’t it?
Why Are So Many Prominent Journalists Abandoning Journalism?
We seem to be entering a new era of yellow journalism, in which ad hominem attacks and conspiracy-mongering are more valued than truth and accuracy.

Cathy Young had a sex change. Her new name is Steven Greenhut.
Reason is cool with tech companies coddling China, though.
Capitalism knows no ideology but greed. That’s supposed to be why it’s so great.
And socialism knows no ideology but need. That is why it ends up killing so many people.
These -isms are tools. If we can’t use them responsibly, we shouldn’t use them. Let’s forget capitalism and socialism. I have a secret: there is no ideology that can explain or prescribe how humans live. That’s a complicated matter, and any attempt to impose a simplistic and holistic worldview on it will result in mass death.
The libertarian should wholeheartedly agree with this in principle, but the problem is they want to impose “libertarianism” on everyone–perhaps the most mind-numbingly simplistic ideology of all. “Jus’ git rid of government!”
It’s not the human propensity to cooperate or the promotion of cooperation among humans that leads to mass death. It’s tyrants with big ideas.
Why hasn’t Antifa shipped out from Portland to Sevastopol, to defend the pronounland against Zelensky’s neonazi Abraham Blinken Brigade?
The lesbian bookstores in Crimea don’t serve artisanal coffee.
Antifa is decidedly pro Ukraine.
More stalwart allies for you to Stand For Ukraine with…
What I don’t get about you pro-fascists is why you dissemble about your allegiances. If fascism is so great, why not just say so?
Why should anybody rely on a commie dumbfuck like you to define what they oppose?
Anyone praising or supporting Putin for invading Ukraine is making a big mistake politically. The ads almost write themselves.
recognizing great strategy shouldn’t be confused as praise. Putin is a tyrant, a bully, and a murder several times over – but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t easily out maneuvered the Biden administration.
Churchill praised Hitler and also fought and beat him. I honestly don’t know any sane person who thinks Russia should be allowed to invade a sovereign country they recognized as such. Then again what gave the US the right to invade Iraq?
Reason starting to ramp up its midterm election coverage I see. Curious to see which way it leans.
haha! which way they lean…
Can you think of any information contradicting this theory?

While it’s jarring to see some people who were so alarmist about COVID become so cavalier about nuclear war, the common thread is “do somethingism.” People are suffering, there must be something I can advocate for to end that suffering RIGHT NOW, unintended consequences be damned
“Do somethingism” can be characterized as extreme safetyism in ends and total recklessness in means.

I thought I had seen some shit in my 55 years, but then I saw them get millions of people to damn near cheer paying more for gas.
I’m no big fan of Bernie Sanders, but saying he’s the equivalent of MTG and Boebert is taking whataboutism to a level even weekend cable newsers couldn’t dream of. And you’re supposed to be radical truth-tellers, you libertarians. I guess the end goal is always a slot on Meet the Press and Real Time, huh?
Is this Tony finally admitting that there isn’t a single Republican so far right as to be compared to how far left Bernie Sanders is?
I think these directional metaphors are dumb as shit.
Bernie is a weirdo but mostly harmless. He’s rational. MTG is a flippin’ loon who needs mental help. If you can’t tell that, you need mental help.
A guy who visits the Soviet Union at its peak and comes back saying, “not such a bad place,” is not simply ‘a weirdo’ and certainly not harmless. He is a propagandist for the most murderous ideology in the history of the world. Religions may glorify suffering as necessary to achieve perfection, but socialism mandates it.
You won’t get an argument from me. Russian propaganda, while it certainly destroyed the minds of all Trumpers, did not spare Bernie bros, the remnants of whom today are among the last holdouts making excuses for Russia (along with all Trumpers).
Come on Tony…the NYT, the WaPo, most liberal magazines in the cold war pushed peaceful co-existence. Hollywood, academia and so on praised the USSR for a while. Basically, Troytsky was their boy, when he went down slowly the neocons arose in the US. I’m old enough to remember in college most of the liberal students from NYC were fascinated with the USSR and thought Reagan was going to start a nuclear war. It seems once the commies went away and you had a govt in Russia while authoritarian had functioning markets and full grocery stores, all these same folks re now anti-Russian. You can make an educated guess why. It’s pretty obvious and that has been the problem with US foreign policy since the end of the cold war..the folks running it.
I have listened to the squad and honestly, they are either Jesse Jackson Grifters or need serious mental help.
So Greenhut names and criticizes a few obnoxious Republicans. Perhaps might there be a corresponding squad of mealy-mouthed Democrats he overlooked?
Yep..Sanders, Schumer, the penguin toady from NYC, Ratner, Warren, the ho in the VP office, Butti-idiot, oh I could go on and on..
Didn’t expect anything less from the fascist idiots here.
If Republicans had a spine then they would eject them but they don’t so they won’t.
On the same token, if there were real libertarians here then they would actually do well in some elections. But the people here aren’t and therefore they don’t.
Fascist, fascist, fascist. Everybody’s a fascist.
If the Democrats had a spine they would eject the obnoxious idiotic “Squad” but they don’t so they won’t. Cori Bush still thinks that “defund the police” is a great campaign idea. Lol.
Bill Buckley? An old WASP big govt lover of the “cold war” security creations that did nothing but set the stage for neocons and the insanity of our foreign policy since 1991. Robert Taft was the better path. Buckley stated again and again we had to give up liberties during the twilight struggle against communism. And yet when it was apparent to everyone that communism was not some under the bed boogieman and it collapsed, we kept on with the Wilsonian Foreign policy with a good dose of Keynesism deficit spending. And here we are.
Buckley wasn’t for sound money, free markets or peace..He was not a conservative in the traditional sense (“Old Right”).
Steve focuses on a few nutjobs in the GOP but and I hate to go there but “whatabout” the legions of left wackos running the NYT, WaPo, colleges, pushing bullshit DIE narrative?
I’d take Rothbard in a heartbeat with his issues over Buckley anyday. And I’m a conservative Catholic..
Us “Tin Foil Crazies”:
1. Ukraine was overthrown by Obama in 2014…Yes on record.
2. Volodymyr Zelenskyy was promoted by George Soros/NATO and the CIA…Yes on record.
3. The US built about 24-30 bio labs in Ukraine many with deadly viruses…Denied denied denied.
Just admitted to the Senate by the State Department…INCLUDING THAT MANY OF THE VIRUSES WERE DEADLY
4. Anything not bolted down is being stolen by whomever is in power in Ukraine, including your comedian hero who is embezzling as much as he can…Those 14 billion in aid are going to the warlords and generals…To be determined.
5. The Ukrainians were looking into building dirty bombs using the by product rods in their nuclear facilities…Pending on this one.

Another perspective from a real libertarian, not Reason:
Why Did Russia Invade The Ukraine? Here Are The Real Reasons You’re Not Being Told
by Michael Suede • March 10, 2022
In 2014, the US overthrew the democratically elected Ukraine government and installed a neo-Nazi as President in a CIA funded coup, often referred to as the Maidan Massacre. The following Presidents were no better. The current guy Zelensky used to be a clown – literally. He’s supported by the West because he’s completely sold the Ukraine out to Western interests. The Ukrainian government is completely corrupt. Remember, Biden had them halt the investigation into Burisma because his son was being paid millions in kickbacks. To top it off, the Ukrainian military is run by Nazi sympathizers. In fact, there is an entire regiment in the Ukrainian military staffed by dedicated neo-Nazis called the Azov.
According to attorney Robert Barnes, one credible Ukrainian pollster has Zelensky with a lower approval rating than Biden. Very few Ukrainians approve of him, and the only people who actually want to fight for him are the hardcore neo-Nazis that run the military. The Ukrainian government just issued a draft for all men ages 18 to 60 because no one wants to fight the Russians; news stories claiming otherwise are propaganda and lies.
Eastern Ukraine, which is referred to as the Donbas region, speaks Russian. Nearly half the people in the Donbas are ethnic Russians. The Nazis in western and central Ukraine hate the Russians for obvious historical reasons. After the Nazi coup, the Donbas held local elections to see if they should declare independence from the Ukraine, which the vote approved. Since the vote of independence, the Ukrainian military has repeatedly shelled the Donbas region and cut off essential services to the people living there. The people in the Donbas are generally friendly toward the Russians. They see this as a Russian peacekeeping mission.
In contrast to Zelensky, Putin enjoys a 70% approval rating, with broad support among the Russian people. Before invading, the Russian parliament approved the military action. Putin’s invasion has the full support of the Russian public.
Putin said he would attack if the Ukraine violated the Minsk Accords that were agreed to by the Ukraine and Donbas separatists after the coup took place, which obligated the Ukrainian government to sit down with Donbas elected officials and work towards Donbas independence, as well as forbidding the Ukraine from joining NATO or hosting nuclear weapons.
Just before the invasion, there was something on the order of 2,000 violations of the ceasefire by the Ukraine against the Donbas. This caused Russia to finally recognize the independence of the region. Further, Zelensky went on record asking for NATO membership and changed Ukrainian law to allow NATO troops on Ukrainian soil in preparation for massive joint military exercises, as well as saying he was open to hosting nukes. Just days before the military action, Kamala Harris went to Europe and gave a speech with Zelensky saying she admired his desire to join NATO.
On top of the Ukraine throwing the Minsk Accords in the trash and the West violating promises NATO made to Soviet Russia back in 1991 to not expand eastward, last year the US government admitted the Pentagon is controlling biological laboratories all over the Ukraine; this was further bolstered by evidence Russia recently made public, as well as evidence published by The National Pulse. Now Russia is claiming they have actually seized US bioweapons in the Ukraine.
In a recent Senate hearing, the US Under Secretary of State admitted on record that the “Ukraine has biological research facilities, which we in fact are quite concerned that Russian forces may be seeking to gain control of.” – I seem to recall the US going to war over similar circumstances in the past.
But that’s not all! Russian news agency TASS reported that, “On December 21, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said that the presence of more than 120 members of private US military companies had been identified in the villages of Avdeyevka and Priazovskoye. He stressed that containers with unknown chemical compounds had been delivered to the village of Avdeyevka and Krasny Liman for staging provocations.”
If you want the detailed explanation of why Russia invaded, you can hear it directly from the horse’s mouth.
We have no business being in that place. I hope Putin does what he says and wipes out all the Nazis and kicks out all the corrupt scumbags doing dirty deals with our government. Putin says he has no interest in sticking around or occupying the place. He doesn’t need to. I trust Putin more than Biden or Zelensky, which is insane to even contemplate, but it goes to show how useless and corrupt our own government is.
This entire war could have been avoided by Biden simply making a public statement that the Ukraine would never be allowed into NATO and that they would never be allowed to host nuclear weapons, along with a threat of cutting off our billions in “aid” if they continued to shell the Donbas. This war was created and promoted by the West. The US government is responsible for what is happening there right now.
Learn a little history. This short video from 2014 will fill you in:
You can get a transcript of the video, along with references and more information, here. (YouTube just age restricted the video because it was getting too much traction with the recent events going on. I’m sure they are burying it so it never appears in a search result again.)
This piece in Intellinews, published on January 27th before the conflict started, provides some insight as to what our glorious leaders envision for the Ukraine.
By the time the US went into red alert mode over “imminent” Russian aggression, Zelenskiy was clearly more preoccupied with domestic politics and the threat of a coup. His messaging became confused as he tried to link his foes, such as oligarch Rinat Akhmetov and ex-president Poroshenko to Russia, while it was clear that if any great power were behind them, then it would be the United States of America.
Akhmetov is one of the top sponsors of the Atlantic Council. The militant street movement, which backs Poroshenko and keeps the threat of a new Maidan alive, is run by Andriy Levus, an activist and former security official directly linked to diaspora organizations created by Nazi collaborators who found refuge in North America under the auspices of the CIA.
The Ukrainians have reasons to suspect that the United States and Britain, with their radical rhetoric unmatched by the real level of threat as well as their enthusiasm about “brave Ukrainians” fighting and dying for the Western cause, are prepared to throw Ukraine under the bus so as to get Russia bogged down in a devastating war. The vision of “a new Chechen war” was evoked by British PM Boris Johnson. Former Obama administration official Evelyn Farkas went as far as calling for the US to form a new “coalition of the willing” and engage in a direct conflict with Russia over Ukraine.
Zelenskiy also has good reasons to believe that his allies see him as an impediment. As Julia Ioffe put in her piece for Puck, “the White House and its Democrat allies have just about had it with President Zelenskiy”. Three sources in Biden’s administration and the Capitol she spoke to described the Ukrainian president as “annoying, infuriating and downright counterproductive”.
Ukraine has an America problem on top of its Russia nightmare. Never groomed to be a professional politician, not to mention a national leader, Zelenskiy has to demonstrate the utmost skill to prevent great powers from turning his country into a battlefield.
I personally think the US may want this war for even more sinister reasons. Everything the US government has done under Biden has worked towards diminishing US power globally. By forcing Russia to act, it provides the US an excuse to cut off banking services and oil pipelines, which would further drive Russia into the waiting arms of China. Ultimately this could lead to the destruction of the US Dollar as the world’s reserve currency, resulting in tremendously diminished US power. If one believes Biden was installed by China, as I do, it makes a lot of sense to think this setup is intentional – not only to weaken Russia, but ultimately to destroy the US as a global power.
Some supporting evidence, from the right, left, center, US, Europe and Russia. You won’t read any of this on Reason, but you decide, don’t buy their propaganda lock stock and barrel
My supporting evidence is being moderated, in other words you will never see it.
Real libertarians don’t defame someone as a “neo nazi” a dozen times without providing any actual evidence, and real libertarians don’t repeat Russian propaganda and claim it is factual.
I mean here’s that notorious Libertarian, Russia-propaganda outlet known as The UN Human Rights Council from 2015-16:
If you want other links from pseudo-libertarian, Russian propaganda outlets like The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Newsweek, USA Today, Radio Free Europe/Radio Free Liberty, Open Democracy, etc. they’re easy to find on the internet. I mean, I don’t disagree that Al Jazeera and RFE/FL are almost certainly propaganda outlets but all propaganda outlets all in the employ of Putin all drawing from the same narrative with different factual stories and incidents demonstrating Ukrainian and Azov white nationalism? That’s a pretty long con for Crimea and Donetsk as the brass ring.
Faux libertarian crazies are setting back the cause of freedom. Faux libertarian crazies like the writers are Reason.
Do a Google search on my member name and you will discover that America was conceived, created, and founded by and for whites ONLY. All that followed after that were simply attempts to undermine that original intent. And whether they succeed or not, the efforts to restore America as a whites-only nation has the blessings of the Founders. Thus, WE who support that goal are closer in spirit to the original America than those who do not.
But why? you may ask. My best answer to you is to read Ward Kendall’s futurist dystopian novel, “Hold Back This Day” (amazon) in order to glimpse our dark future should we fail. It has been called “the “1984” of our time”.
What do you want to do about all the nonwhites?
I don’t know Tony; why don’t you ask your [D] leaders since they are the one’s always writing legislation about color, sex and class-status…
Orwell pointed to James Larratt Battersby as the answer to stuff like that, albeit in footnotes. Battersby wrote “The Holy Book of Adolf Hitler” which, though British, is as helpful as the original Nazi platform for understanding how Positive Christianity meshes with Republican National Socialism.
Just as pointed out above….. Anytime the immigrant vote is questioned it’s automatically dismissed as being racist….
But way to dig up those Pre-Civil War Acts of DEMOCRATS legislation of the past (they fought a Civil War to keep). They’ve always have been AND STILL ARE the party of identity politics.
Contrary to your indoctrination; It was specifically the foundation of this country that eliminated slavery and race based politics… Nice try though.
But EVERYONE should watch out for a repeat of history and be very skeptical of ANY legislation specifically involving color, sex or class-status because it would take a complete moron not to see the “Party of Slavery” is still the “Party of Slavery” only dressed up in Tin-Foil Halo hats..
Greenhut is confirming what voters already learned since Geesus Waffen Bush wrecked the economy with asset forfeiture “sharing” in 2008. The G-Oh-Pee has lost 7% of its support, commie Dems 5% and the LP has GAINED verbal support despite communist anarchist infiltration. If those translate into votes, what will the looter Kleptocracy shriek? If you predicted “We Wuz Robbed,” you get to stay after class and clean the erasers.
I’ve never encountered this “Groypers” term before; Is it something they call themselves, or more akin to the left’s practice of calling the Tea Party “Tea baggers”?
Hey Reason, do a story on the actions of the Ukrainian gov’t as it bombed “Russian separatists” simply because they wanted to be free from the corrupt Ukrainian gov’t.
If you poke a bear long enough he will react.
The author is much more comfortable with the likes of Murkowski, cocaine Mitch, Romney, Collins and Graham, Kinzinger and Chaney. Keep splitting the party with articles like this. No mention of Saigon Dick Blumenthal and his speech at an American Communist Party function or Kamala Harris praising BLM rioters and terrorists and Jussie Smollett. Many more examples that you seem willing to dismiss. A watershed moment has been passed . get on board or for God’s sake get off. You are no help to this country or its citizens.
As long as Americans and politicians continue to believe in American exceptionalism and continue to support interventionist policies, America will continue to be the cause of much of the world’s strife. Whether it is deliberate or the failure to consider the after effects of interventionist policies, none the less, most if not nearly all of the past interventions has produced nothing but failure and further consequences down the road. Then the politicians will act surprised when things didn’t turn out quite the way they thought it would.
Very little, if any good has ever come about due to interventionist policies, whether it was in Latin America, Cuba and Puerto Rico, or in the middle east with the destruction of Libya, Iraq, Syria, And turning Afghanistan into a narco state.
One could be led to believe that the mistakes of Viet Nam and Afghanistan would have made people wiser, but in America, that is hardly the case. Polticians continue to call for more interventionism even now as people like Lindsey Graham wants America to get involved, which of course would cause this situation in Ukraine to spin completely out of control and we end up with WWIII.
The MSM continues to fail as it spouts propaganda daily, as in the case of Ukraine, fails or deliberately ignores the situation that led up to Russia invading Ukraine. The problem with the MSM is that it distorts the truth and obfuscates the facts.
At least people like James O’Keefe continues to expose the MSM for the twisted, lying bunch they are.
There is little hope of ending America’s interventionist policies as long as the American people don’t have to suffer for it or realize they’re suffering for it. They are though as America continues to spend its treasury and blood around the world in one war after another for ambiguous reasons.
“…some Republican elected officials have been cozying up to Putin…”
Take a hike, Steve. Most GOP politicians support the USA committing Acts of War against Russia. THAT is the only thing you need to worry about as far as Russia is concerned
I think you need a word other than ‘failing,’ it implies Brandon actually was succeeding at his job at some point.
And he wonders why people cheer when Arpaio says he’s been called a racist. It’s because they so distrust the media that when someone is labeled as a racist, they not only don’t believe it, they’re convinced it’s a sign that he’s important. They’ve cried wolf about racism so long that accusations of racism are becoming a good thing. They love it when the media cries racism.
I remember when Winston Churchill called Hitler a genius for invading Poland.
Wait a sec…
And let’s not forget, Biden doesn’t mind begging terrorist state Iran, Venezuela for more oil.
All Putin’s friends.
Image if Trump had F’d up this royally. especially after Afghanistan.
Trump haters would want his head.
He is succeeding at his job. His regime is successfully punishing the American people.
The beatings will stop when elections are adequately fortified?
Two weeks to stop the beatings.
Personally recalling the times that I have been labeled a racist, bigot, alt-righty for simply saying “skin color should not matter”… hmmm.

Yes, well said. I love sarcasm, and when I heard Trump saying that, I heard sarcasm, and what I call “Trump tones.”
The thing is, I don’t think Biden so much as got “outmaneuvered”, as much as I think he just didn’t care to move at all. He – JUST – DOESN’T – CARE.
If we go by people’s actions it sure looked like he was dragging his feet at delivering the weapons Zelensky was asking for, won’t send much air defense either, etc. All while he did know Putin was going to invade, and said so.
Ukraine is simply another distraction for Biden’s use, where he can very conveniently blame every failure on Putin Putin, Putin.
Grow the fuck up. You don’t need to prove that you are an idiot, we already know it.
I love that guy from “black guns matter”. He sure has street smarts.
